TOTAL disappointment. First ordering is overly complacated. I wanted two Cuban sandwiches (all the way). The lady at counter started quizzing me on toppings, it's like she didnt understand what all the way meant (like every other Cuban sandwich shop in the world). The entire time some old guy she was talking to (non customer waiting, looked like homeless person taking up most of the window in fron of her) was laughing and snickering at the lady quizzing me on order. It was quite humiliating. When I finally got the food she pasted to me over the homeless guy taking up the small window you have to order from the food tasted stale and had a strange small to it. We didnt get sick from it but agreed both Cuban sandwitches were not made from fresh ingredients. I would seriously avoid this place. Very disappointed. Never going there again.. read more

The food is fantastic! Definitely get café con leche, it's quick and delicious. Basically no seating and food can take a bit of time, but it's because it's made to order and delicious. Definitely stop by! Recommend taking it to the White St Pier to eat. read more

My boyfriend loved his Cuban sandwich! The cafe con leche was delicious! My veggie sandwich was a little disappointing, next time would choose something else. I moved to Key West, well aware of the costs. I found Sandy's had a very inexpensive Cuban & Midnight sandwiches. I was very happy with the value. Recently I brought a friend there and noticed the sandwiches had a lot more meat. I was stunned. Additionally Yelp still showed and STILL DOES offer a 20% discount. Although they have told me it was posted under the previous owner they have STILL been honoring it ! Had I not lost my job in the first couple days of April I wouldn't have asked them to honor it. There sandwiches with the discount are basically $7, flavorful with what you SHOULD expect out of an amazing sandwich. Even with the discount I can't afford to go more than once every 3 weeks but...I would encourage you to give them a try. I believe they will honor the 20% still posted. Up to you if you want to hold them to it, regardless of price it's so far the GREATEST value on the Island I have found. read more

Visiting Key West and we were Looking for a late dinner to take back to our rental. We ordered a to pick up order of the shrimp plate, a Cuban especial and plantains. Everything was delicious and fresh. Best plantains we ever had- sweet and perfectly cooked. The shrimp was excellent and fried well. Not greasy. The portions were big and the black beans delicious. First of all I had to call five times before anyone answered. I finally got through and tried to get a food delivery to my residence. ( I get food delivered to my house all the time) But for some reason the girl on the phone was super confused and refused to look further for my address after she couldn't find it the first time. I asked her if she could get someone to help her and she said no. I asked for maybe a supervisor and she said no. So I'm like is there anything I could do and she said unless I had the exact address thats in her system and since the address I gave her is the only one i have or have ever used. I couldn't guess the address in her system So no dinner for me tonight or at least from Sandys. The girl was super super rude to me guess they don't need my business. I miss the old Sandys. They claim to be the original but they sure don't act like it. Guess next time I'll just call Cuban Coffee Queen at least they want to take my order. read more

Great great colada coffee. I had three of them because the crema was spot on. Good prices. My children had the veggie Cuban and it was large with lots of avocado. The sweet plantains were cooked in old oil but wasn't bad. Girl behind the counter was super friendly. Great job!!! read more

There are many Cuban restaurants in Key West. don't believe all of the positive things you read about Sandy's! ++++++latest update today 3 March. Back to my original assessment of Sandy's. Management doesn't care and the children they leave in charge of the restaurant all day and evening do not care. Alex, the owner, had instructed me to contact either him or Rose to be compensated for the piece of crap sandwich I got on Super bowl Sunday. The only thing is they're gone by 9:30 a.m. Emailed him several times trying to find another way to make this right. No replies What I noticed when I've been there is Spanish appears to be the preferred language for the best service Will not be going back to Sandy's! Fernandy's Cafe right down the street is better and there are many other Cuban Fair restaurants in Key West. ########Update today February 12, 2019. Sandys has finally contacted me and apologized and offered to make things right if I come in and give them another try. So, I'm feeling better now that they are at least trying. I hope that they have severly admonished their food preparer from that evening when I received what I thought was a terrible excuse for their signature "Authentic Cuban" sandwich!++++++++++++ Sandy's ain't what it used to be!! I've sent them the following email to their website email link and have received nothing back from them.
