A perennial favorite. Every time I venture to Key West, stopping by Sandy's, or their food truck located at the Southernmost Point Bar, is a must stop. Their Cuban pork taco is THE BEST THING I have ever tasted. And this from someone who has eaten their way across the globe. You cannot go wrong g with anything on the menu and once you've tried it, you will return again and again.

OMG!!!!! What an absolute find! I was on the hunt for the best Cuban Sandwich in Key West. Sandy's came highly recommended! Located next door to a laundromat, this place was on slam! There is usually a line wrapped around the building. Hands down....the BEST CUBAN!!! The fresh, crispy bread made the sandwich a pure delight!

I am so glad I ordered from Sandy's with GrubHub while waiting to uber to the airport before we flew out. My son loves corn tortillas and I prefer flour. We got exactly what we both wanted from me ordering chicken tacos with corn tortillas for him, and steak tacos with flour for me. The watermelon balls that come with the order are amazing. I can't handle spicy but these were not at all spicy with such good flavor. The guacamole that comes with it is also delicious. I ordered dolce de leche coffee too, and you can select honey as your sweetener instead of sugar or all the artificial sweetener options they also give. Good was so delicious it was such a nice way to end our trip!

Stopped here for a quick bite as we were heading out of town. Wanted a good Cuban sandwich and turned to Yelp. The sandwich didn't disappoint and we actually split it for two of us. This is really more of a to go counter. They do have one picnic table on the side and a couple chairs at the front counter. We got ours and drove a couple blocks to a park near the water.

Cuban coffee at its best. Locals come here so why don't we. Cordita coffee with 50% sugar for me please enough to wake up your senses and enjoy key west. Fueled up with egg and cheese on a Cuba bread hot pressed. Definitely a go to for Cuban breakfast or lunch.

Best breakfast ever!!! All made in a taco truck. We had the eggs Benedict, breakfast tacos and added chorizo, and an egg cheese and chorizo sandwich. The lady was super nice and answered all questions. Lots of room to sit, but it is outside only. But there were tons of fans. The perfect little spot just a bit down from the southern most point.

We order here every once in a while. Food is not the best, coffee is hit or miss. Depending on how much the ice has melted by the time it gets here. Today, Sofia was the least helpful person ever. Sofia was rude, aggressive, and disrespectful. She didn't care at all that the food I was given was completely wrong. I ordered cheese tequeños. I got something mustard filled with maybe like ham and pickles idk exactly, I took one bite and spit it out as I was not expecting that. She yelled at me that there are no pickles I'm like okay lady I just want my cheese tequeño. Asked for refund. Still haven't received. We'll see how long that takes. This why we always ordered from Kim's Kuban. Next time I'm craving some cheese tequeños I'll make my own!

Sandy's has become a Key West tradition for our family. Everything we have had on the menu is fantastic. The Cuban sandwich gets rave reviews by my husband. My daughter is a huge fan of the pork entree (it comes with tons of food!) and the fish tacos are the absolute best. Service is pretty fast. We hear there can be quite a long line for Lunch and dinner, so we usually come during not peak time (we eat a very late lunch). We will be coming back!

Omg this Cuban sandwich. I sent the pic to my dad and he knew what was up. Soo good I had to go back to the kitchen and fist the cooks. The tacos were tasty but fell apart. Very delicious but the pico on the bottom defeted the corn tortilla faster that paper on rock Daughter said the scrimps were good and amazing. The beans that came with, they had something going on with them, not a big fan of black beans but these had something next level. We will crush our left overs at the hotel Don't stay at the casa marina resort, stay here. 5 stars

We were looking for a place for a quick breakfast before an early flight. Sandy's Cafe was one of only 2 places we found that were open at 6 am on a Sunday. We walked here from our hotel, it is located inside a laundromat. They have a variety of options on their menu and the prices are reasonable. We tried their egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and their bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. The sandwiches were good, but nothing extraordinary, just what we needed for a quick breakfast. I would've preferred real cheddar cheese than American cheese on my sandwich. You can tell locals come here. Everything was made fresh to order.

Just pulled into the hotel and we're looking for delivery. Sooo good! Easy to order on line and the food was here 15 minutes early! Best fish tacos we've had in a long time! Loved the chicken soup and the black bean soup! So good! Packaged really well so there was no mess! Looking forward to tomorrow so we can get some coffees and breakfast read more

The best empanada I've had in my life, and the Cuban, the Cuban was life-changing. I'm not gonna lie. There was a wait, but once I sat on the seawall and unwrapped my package the realization hit me, that I have been waiting a lifetime for this... as the juices trickle down, my beard, moisture materialized in my eyes.... We just ordered food here. Despite ordering (and being charged for) drinks and deserts, none were included with the order. When we tried to ask about this, we were told that the order didn't have it- even though the receipt had the amount for the additional items charged (an additional nine dollars). Would not order from here again. The food itself wasn't that great either - the ropa vieja sandwich was mediocre, and the deep dish nachos cold. Edit- the chips that came with the nachos were okay even though they were cold. While the ropa vieja sandwich wasn't great, the other sandwich was good. If they hadn't messed up the order so bad (and refused to correct it) the food itself would have been 3-4 stars. read more

Probably the best deal in key west. This place was near my hotel and they supposedly have a world famous Cuban sandwich. It was only $8.75 and really tasty. They have a few bar stools and countertop table out front but mostly it's just a grab and go kind of place. read more

Hands down the best meal in Key west. We went to fancy expensive restaurants were the rice was crispy and the food bill was quadrupled. The Cuban was what dreams are made of and the skirt steak tacos were unbelievable. The sandwich did not disappoint. You will not regret it! read more

So quintessentially key west. Cuban restaurant attached to a laundromat. Big menu, reasonable prices, great food. Food is made to order so make sure you have 10-15 mins. I've tried the Cuban sandwich, iced con leche, sweet plantains, chicken croquetta and tres leches cake. Wish they gave a dipping sauce. read more

This was my first trip to Key West, and I came with my boyfriend who was playing in the Mile 0 fest so he had been here before. We both are quite the foodies and we had been on the hunt for all of the best spots to check out and eat like locals. A buddy of ours had recommended Sandy's for the cubano sandwich, as this was one of the main items on our list so we hopped right to it our first day there. We had quite a bit to drink the night before and this food brought me to life lol. We tried a couple other places during our stay but Sandy's was by far the best spot for the cuban sandwich. read more

Amazing food. I know this place is known for the Cuban sandwich but the chicken empanada is insane. And it's huge. We also had the flan which was amazing. The skirt tacos are good but not anything special. (I've had better tacos but these are good, I would recommend something else if this is your first time here) the side of rice and beans are very flavorful. I would recommend to everyone. This is the restaurant u go out of your way for. It's cheap and don't expect anything special. But if ur looking for a good meal while watching a movie in ur pjs, This is the place. read more

While in Key West, we circled around each day to try different Cuban coffee stands. Altogether, Sandy's was better than any of the others we tried, not only from a coffee perspective, but from a Cuban-styled sandwich as well. Their coffee is not the weakest we tried, but also not the strongest. It was however, just right. They also have smoothies, fresh squeezed lemonade, and free parking. Their cafe is built into a laundromat, which has a parking lot. The one and only issue across key west, everyone including Sandy's, uses styrofoam for beverage containers. read more

Yum yum yum! This food is made to order and it does take time. If you are in a hurry go somewhere else. But if you have time this is a must. Food is amazing and authentic. This has to be the best kept locals secret to try while in Key West. I was craving a real Cuban sandwich, not a fast food or franchise place. After a little research, I noticed a few awards Sandy's received and knew this was the place. I arrived at the walk up window at 9am and ordered a Buchi espresso and a Cuban sandwich. I enjoyed my Buchi at Sandy's much better than the other place that's all over the place in Key West. As for the sandwich, I fell in love! This sandwich was a texture and flavor bomb that surprised the hell out of me, I wasn't expecting this from a little walk up joint in Key West. They toast the Cuban bread with a nice crispy outer crust. A subtle taste of mustard hits the tongue, followed by the most tender Cuban pulled pork. Those three pickles are just the right combination to set off the mellow taste of the Swiss cheese and ham. I must say, this has to be hands down the best breakfast that I've ever had. Lol This sandwich is definitely in my top 5 best sandwiches of all time. I put it up there with Dinic's roast pork in Philly and Al's Italian beef in Chicago. I couldn't find anything I'd change with this sandwich! read more

Did a spontaneous day trip to the key with a group friends and while walking around this place caught our attention and their happy hour sign so we decided to give it a try! It was a hot day and we were all sweaty so we sat at a table that was right in front of a big fan which felt great! Shortly after an employee walks over saying he was taking away and we said no leave it it feels good, but our request was ignored (strike one). Walked over to the bar got a few drinks and then decided to look at the food menu, well i ordered chicken tenders which came with fries, this might as well be an order of just a basket of fries! I was highly disappointed to pay $15 for 3 little pieces a chicken and a ton of fries smh (strike2). After this i can say i wouldnt even go back to this place order any food at all, so if you love fries and want a whole basket of them well then this is the llace for you oh and forgot to mention the fries are super skinny lmao. read more

Great customer service, if you check in, you get a whopping 20% off! Open butt early until late at night. Ordered Cuban sandwich, pork sandwich, and palomilla steak entree. Sandwiches were alright. A lot of bread...but got a nice use of mustard. Wasn't a fan of the deli ham but for $8.50, can't complain. The palomilla steak was really great. Is order this again and again. Been buying Cuban sandwiches in Key West for about 20 years, and the quality of one of the more "famous" places has been diminishing dramatically over the past few years. Learned about Sandy's Cafe and decided to try it. OUTSTANDING--a 1000 times better than what we've had in KW over the past few years. I highly recommend. it. Ordered on-line (kind of a quirky website, but it worked) and was told the food would be ready at 12:30 PM. It was--hot and still hot when we got home with it. The sandwiches were packed with meat and cheese and condiments and were juicy and delicious--as were the french fries. I highly recommend Sandy's for Cuban sandwiches. read more

Love the mural on the side and there are lots of roosters hanging around begging for some of your leftovers.

Personally, I think cleaning should begin after closing time rather than while guests are still trying to enjoy their experience. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the honey cake and would love to try their cold brew next time.

We were in Key West for a week and went on a mission in search of the island's best traditional Cubano (pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard--no lettuce, tomato, mayo known in Key West as a "Cuban Mix"). We managed five lunches, served only with fries for sharing with a glass of water. We wanted to make sure we could compare "apples to apples" with each location! Locations included Sandy's Cafe; Ana's Cuban Cafe; El Siboney; 5 Brothers; and Kim's Kuban. In rank order, we most enjoyed Sandy's Cafe. The sandwich was hot and the bread had a nice crunch; the pulled/shredded pork nicely spiced; the cheese melted that coated the meats nicely; and the overall taste delicious. The French fries were delightfully seasoned and complemented the sandwich. This was the most traditional of the Cubanos and the place we would return to the most. Next up would be a toss-up between Ana's and El Siboney. While the taste was there, the sandwich needed just a few more minutes on the griddle. A trick with a Cubano is ensuring that the meats are hot--or at least warm--within, and this wasn't fully the case in either establishment. Still, they merited "runner-up" status. The products were fresh and a decent balance of all ingredients. We wanted to love 5 Brothers as the charm of the place was there. However, the meats within were literally half-cold, particularly the ham. Taste, yes. Texture, no. Finally, as we were staying in Old Town, we walked all the way to Kim's Kuban where we had read good things. Alas, this place was the largest disappointment and not worth the walk. The ham overpowered the rest of the sandwich--and it was cold with unmelted cheese. Alas, we would not return to Kim's Kuban which was also on a busy highway. We look forward to returning to the Keys to continue our search! read more

I got the validation of the maintenance man at our hotel to come, and his rec did not disappoint. I tried the cafe con leche and Cuban mixes twice this trip, and here does it better in my opinion! Their Cuban Mix's bread was ok, but the ingredients were so compactly tucked in, that it made for a perfect chew each time. Their cafe also had foam on top, making it extra sweeter and creamier, but so good as a result. Vibes were chill, with some outdoor seating and a couple roosters.
