So glad that my boyfriend found this place tonight while he was in the area. He called me and I requested a salmon teriyaki plate and he ordered the salmon sango plate. We shared a rainbow roll. He ordered the food to go. He stated that there were a lot of pick up orders, while he waited for our to go order. I'm happy that he found a sushi place open. There's plenty to choose from on their menu. I plan to visit this place once the COVID-19 crisis is over. Very grateful that this place was open and wish this establishment much success for serving the HB community. The rainbow roll had large pieces and definitely fresh. The salmon plates were still warm with rice and salad - simple and healthy. My boyfriend loved the sauce on the salmon sango. Have been wanting to try this place for a good while and finally got to it. It was definitely worth the wait. The rolls are pretty big, flavorful and fresh. We also got a bento which was delish, the tempura veggies were surprisingly good. I got a poke bowl and the salmon and tuna were sooo freakin good. Over all I definitely recommend this place 100%, it's worth the price and the staff is super friendly and attentive. The inside is cute, it's a nice place to have a casual lunch. read more

One of my very favorite, reasonably priced authentic Japanese restaurants for dine in or take out in Los Alamitos, so I'm lucky to see that there is a sister (with the same menu) near my home in Huntington Beach. The quality, presentation and taste is the same here in Huntington Beach. There is ample parking in this huge center. The staff is friendly, welcoming, accommodating and pleasant. My ultimate favorite combo here is the beef teri & tempura. The beef is on point EVERY TIME (very tender) and the teriyaki sauce is delicious. The tempura is fresh, crispy and delicious. read more

What a piece of work this place. They don't take their gift card because ownership changed. I didn't see any sign and if they don't change their name, they must honor the gift card which is same as cash. This gift card was not discounted gift card like from Costco. Well, I have to admit we've been going back here, once-in-a while, again, mostly because of the few employees we still know, (and like), and a few of the dishes but, ever since the ownership change, (a year, or two ago?), things keep changing...and not, particularly, for the better. I have been to Sango in Los Alamitos for about 25 years now and even though I knew this place existed about 10 years ago, I've never been. Until now. The food tho, is not as comparable to the Los Al location. However, I did appreciate the young cashier/host doing his best to accommodate us even though he had to run the front end at the same time. With that said, prices seems a bit higher here. Our go to Salmon Sango looked flat with less fish and our teri chicken plate wasn't any better. I'm not sure how big the kitchen is, but it did take about 20 minutes for our second order to come out. Our first order took 15 minutes. I'm sure it didn't help that we came in along with a bunch of other people post theatre show at the Huntington High School. I also wanted to comment the way the line wraps around when its busy here seems like bad feng shui. Pre-order: Everyone wraps around where customer eats so you're stuck if you sit close to the cashier. Post-order: Everyone crowds around the area where you get your straws/condiments station. But that said, it's just okay to come here if you're not expecting large portions. Parking is plenty in the shopping center. read more

Been going here for years for some good cut rolls. Typical solid rolls for us are: Tuna tataki, spicy tuna, special cucumber roll & the Hot Night roll.... They make a good salmon skin hand roll as well... My family and I live in Orange - we used to live out this way and we come back to Sango once every other week or so for a no nonsense cut roll dinner. There are many sushi places by us in Orange, but I feel for this price you can't beat the quality of fish. The other bonus of Sango is it is surrounded by other restaurants & fast food places perfect for my kids while my wife and I have cut rolls. read more

Great food, reasonably priced, great service! Came late at night shortly before they closed but was able to fill myself up with their poke bowl. It is one of the place where you can eat decent sushi at reasonable price! Their menu prices are all wrong. Everything is more expensive than listed. When I pointed this out after ordering and driving into the restaurant, all I got was "those prices are three years old" and "if you dont like it you dont have to pay." WOW. Add horrible service to horrible food and wrong prices. One star, never going back. I bring the food home and tell the story to my wife. She thinks I'm exaggerating when I say I'm never going back, and then we eat the food. The chicken was completely rubbery and inedible, it tasted like raw chicken that was overcooked, if that's even possible. We ended up throwing it all away and vowing to never go here again. Super nice people and the food is great! They make special designer sushi and tasty udon. For the picky Sushi eater this place may be okay but for the weekend warrior like myself this place is great! The price very affordable. This is a Huntington Beach local hangout and it gets busy and has a limited seating. But you can always go eat outside!
