4 stars for the food, but 2 for the parking situation. I don't know if it's because Wednesdays are "Ladies Night," but the valet parking was a hot mess. Dropoff was easy enough, but waited at least 15 minutes at the end of the night for my car, which was parked about 20 feet away from the valet stand (too bad I couldn't get to my key!). Was surprised that this place has valet parking, since it's not mentioned on their website (at least not prominently). Also, one in our party had been there a few weeks prior on a Monday ... and no valet. The food was really good. Had the chicken empanadas and the asparagus with manchego cheese. The asparagus was perfect! Also sampled the beef empanadas, the pork chop entree and the homemade potato chips. To drink, I gambled on the Sangria-Mojito combo. It wasn't bad, but I'd probably go with the classic red sangria next time. My tab came to $36 (with tax and tip) for the two tapas plates and the drink. read more

My family and I made a reservation for dinner at Sangria 71 in Commack, New York. When we arrived, we were greeted by lovely valet workers who safely parked our vehicle. As we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by a lovely hostess who so graciously seated us. The table exuded neatness and was in pristine condition. Our drinks were ordered, and we received bread along with other appetizers. The appetizers were delicious and my family and I ate everything. We made our orders for our entrees, and continued to socialize. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and were so full from the yummy appetizers that almost everyone received a box. My cousin Sarah ordered a steak. Upon receiving her steak, she discovered that it was too rare for her liking. She sent the steak back to be cooked. Upon receiving her newly cooked steak, she discovered that the steak was cooked "too well." She did not receive an adequate entree. I felt like the time between receiving drinks, appetizers, and our meal could have been at a faster rate. Overall, I enjoyed my time at this place and would visit it again if given the chance. read more

I've been to the other location for lunch and I've always loved it so I wanted to try out this location as well. The food is so delicious in both locations. I love to order the paella valenciana, the garlic soup when it's on the menu, Sangria and to finish off my lunch I order flan. All this delicious food for less than $15 plus tax and tip is amazing -it's worth it. I've also ordered the cream brûlée at other times-it has a hint of alcohol which I'm not used to but it's still delicious. Love the food and atmosphere here-can't wait to go back. read more

I highly recommend the grilled meat platter ( 4 baby lamb chops , 2 chicken cutlets, skirt steak and chorizo.... Comes with two sides and a salad as well) for $52.00. I am at this restaurant now (7:30pm). Had two different types of beer from Spain (Estrella), and they have a god selection on tap and in bottle. Apps are really good so far Camarones Ajillo en Salsa Verdre (shrimp in a green garlic sauce). Empanadas have chunks of steak and not ground beef. So far so good. My waiter, Jose is patient and attentive. (To be continued.) Ok just finished dinner. i had the Chuletas Extremeña (pork chop with red sauce, chorizo, peppers, and onions). Good choice and appealing to the eye. I didn't get the bill yet. just got the bill and I was very satisfied with the price. Well worth the money and a great deal. Staff is excellent and one of the managers came by to check on it make sure everything was okay. Will definitely come back. If I could give it 7 Stars I would. This place has lots of bar space to accomodate a nice size crowd. Looks like great place for an after work happy hour for mature crowd to wind down fdom the week. I'm writing this on behalf of my dad who compelled enough to share his experience. He picked up a paella special dinner they offer for my parents' wedding anniversary the other day because it's my moms favorite Spanish restaurant. He said the staff couldn't have been any kinder! They packed up the food beautifully and gave it to my dad safely. Not to mention the food was fantastic. I shared the tapas special, and what a deal! Surprisingly excellent! We were heading to the Chinese place next door and the parking lot was full so we decided to park at this place. But then at whim we said we should try it. Holy crap ! I'm so thankful that we did this place had big portions and phenomenal food. The value of the lunch menu was way over the top for what you get. The selection was extensive. And food was excellent. It's sleeveless under armour. So your feet can be sticking out but not your arms. Hope the owners have a sit down with the manager. I ate here one a Thursday night with my family. We made a reservation to eat here but it was not necessary. We started with the Pulpo a la plancha, Chorizo al la Sangria, and Calamares fritos. We got these as a gluten free option since someone in our party could not eat gluten. The tapas were delicious and nothing was left over. My only complaint would be that it was a bit greasy. to drink we each tried the sangria cocktails. each one was delicious. For a main course the parriada de carne for 2. it was enough for 3 people. generous portion sizes. It did not come with any sides which was disappointing. We ordered green beans and a sald which where delicious. For desert I got the tartufo which was delicious. if you like tartufo you wont be disappointing. someone at my table got the chocolate souffle which was more of a chocolate molten cake with ice cream on the side. I enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner here. The service was prompt and the food was very tasty. I love the Sangria. One of the best I ever tasted. We started out with fried calamari and raw oysters for appetizers. Delicious and very light. My only complain was the Marinara sauce for the calamari was very bland and no taste. It's ok. Croquetas are yummy. Patatas Bravas were way undercooked, but the flavor was on point. Garlic shrimp was potent in a good way, but the shrimp felt just a tad under the quality I would have liked, and there was a slight taste/smell of seafood that is just a little past its prime. Pan con tomate was so far beneath how good it could be--bread and Serrano good, but the garlic and tomato rub just wasn't done right. (So that dish is a nice dish, but if you know what it can be, it's pretty disappointing.) Tortilla Espanola competent, but that's about it. There was no seasoning or accompaniment that made it more than the sum of its parts. read more

This place was busy on Saturday night, it has been open for only 5 days. We were greeted with a smile and a welcome to Sangria 71 so far so good. We were seated fairly quickly and it only gets better from here. I had the house sangria and my wife had the cava sangria and both were great. We had some tapas to start, we had the dates with bacon and almonds and the egg omelet and cheese and meat plate all were great. We also ordered the seafood paella for one and it was loaded with seafood and chicken and it's big enough to share trust me! Another round of sangria and desert. We had creme brulee and it came with a flamed topping of rum and it was great. My only minor complaint is the food came out a little too quickly between courses. Now being that this place just opened there were really no issues in service or food quality! We will be back for sure! read more

They really did a nice job with this place. Nothing has ever done well in that spot but I believe that is about to change. The decor inside is beautiful and the bar is huge. We chose to do tapas and it was perfect. The food came out within 15 minutes of us ordering. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and kept checking up on us. We reserved a table for 7.30pm Friday night through open table - party of four. Made a note to make it special as it was meant to be a birthday dinner. It turned out that there was nothing special. I don't think the message got passed on so I wouldn't fault the restaurant for that. We were put in the back 'sort of over flow' room and by the back window. Not only was it so cold that I had to put my jacket on but it was extremely loud!!! The noise completely ruined our evening!!! A group of very loud girls were celebrating a birthday and when the lit birthday cake with the sparkling lights was brought to their table, they shrieked, laughed, screamed, howled, yelled and made every kind of humanistic sound you can imagine. This went on and on and on!! I could have had a better experience at a fast food chain, honestly. I wish the manager cautioned the party or came around to check up on us due to the noise, but no. It was a pricey wasted evening for me. The food was ok. The Sea bass and Salmon we ordered tasted fresh. Not keen on the Paella ...had that last time. This is a great restaurant for authentic Spanish food. The paella is very good and there are many wonderful tapas to choose from. Of course you must enjoy a margarita. This is yet again another spectacular time at Sangria 71 in Commack. The wait staff is a well-oiled machine serving perfectly cooked meals. Tonight I splurged on a two pound steamed lobster cooked exactly right. My husband, never one to venture from the madascala, chose the green sauce tonight, again excellent. As soon as one enters the restaurant, the atmosphere is welcoming. JESSICA is the consummate professional when it comes to accommodating guests. She always has a smile as is very attentive. Extremely BEAUTIFUL restaurant. Bar service was kind of slow and they seemed to be all over the place. Sangria was good, so I definitely suggest to start with that. When we got seated our waiter seemed to rush us to order, so that was kind of a turn off. As food goes, my mom had the grilled lamb chops. Those were pretty good, but I wasn't really impressed. My dad and I split the Paella Valenciana. We both thought it was just very average. Nothing special about it and just had very seafood-y taste. For dessert, my mom and I ordered cappuccinos and my dad ordered a tres leches cake and a spanish coffee. Our waitor came back and gave us the check and asked how our dessert was; we never received it. He's currently walking around aimlessly trying to figure out where it went. Still waiting.... The most organized part about this place was the valet parking. The guy that got our car for us was very nice and fast. He gets 5 stars. Came into the restaurant as a party of four, last night, Sat. August 25th, with a 6 o'clock reservation to celebrate an anniversary. After looking forward to a nice dinner, we not only were severely disappointed and disgusted, but severely embarrassed with the food that was served. The only positives of the evening including the tapas we consumed which consisted of the stuffed dates, beef empanada, chicken croquettes, and fried monchego cheese. As soon as dinner was served we had major issues. First off, chicken villeroy was served nothing like the menu description. The bechamel sauce was supposedly stuffed inside, instead of on top of the chicken, although there were no traces of it. The waitress said it was not possible to receive extra bechamel sauce to insert on top, informing us how unaccomodating the restaurant is. The biggest disappointment is the $45 meat platter for two, which was disgraceful to even serve. After requesting all meat medium rare, it was sent to the table well down and burnt.After cutting into the steak and noticing this, we spoke to a manager who took the entire platter back to the kitchen. However, instead of cooking everything fresh again, the kitchen re-heated every single item on our platter with the exception of the steak. Therefore, we had chicken, pork, and lamb that was completely burnt, and inedible resembling shoe leather. Service was terrible throughout the evening and to round out the night, we were charged for an order of fresh potato chips we never received. read more

Went there with another couple on a Saturday night. The place was hopping. Very loud, but it's what you'd expect for a little restaurant with a bar in the middle of it. We waited for maybe 10-20 minutes even though we had a reservation. Again, not a big deal, just typical Saturday night out on Long Island. We were seated and had a great time. The food was awesome. We each got a dish, but got maybe 3 or 4 tapas as appetizers. Way too much food (we all took home leftovers), but it was all good. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars from me was the service. Our waiter was not that great - he kind of rushed us in ordering, told us he'd take care of the options we had, and otherwise was abrupt. He also spilled a beer on one of my friends. From what I saw with other tables, he was the exception, not the rule however. We'll definitely be back. read more

I can't say enough about the service at this place. It's been a while since I've been genuinely impressed by the service. We were greeted with smiles and sat right away. Marlon was our server. He made great suggestions and was always available even when his sections was full later on in the night. Even the bussers were all smiles on top of their game and pleasant to talk to. I'm blown away by the service. I would definitely recommend asking for marlon, although it seems all employees are just as good. The food was cooked very well. Presentation was on point!
