Had brunch and my wife and mother-in-law loved the rose? sangria and they were pretty much happy with that. We also had the chicken and waffles which were good, a breakfast that I can't remember the name with fried cheese that was really good and the burger which had some great fries, egg and bacon, however the burger was a little over and even though it was an Angus pattie, it wasn't anyhting interesting itself. I ordered 2 takeout items and was told it would take @ 30 minutes (ok). I came back and the thin girl at the front & the takeout guy apparently forgot to place the order based on the look of shock on their face. I was told it would take @ 5 more minutes...20 minutes later, the order came. I went home and discovered that my order was missing a key item (Arroz con pollo...no pollo). WHAT!!! Horrible service. In the past the restaurant was rounding up to the dollar when you had a take out item. When I asked for my change, the thin girl at the front nastily said we do not give back money. WHAT!!! My 1st visit to the restaurant should have provided me with insight. The manager went around to every table except mine (only non-hispanic) to ask them about their visit. I questioned him as to why he skipped by my table and he said no, I didn't. Yes, he did. He said drinks on me the next time. Really!!! I learned my lesson...enough is enough for bad service. Wonderful dinner experience at this lively, modern restaurant located on Bartow Avenue in the Bronx. Management graciously accommodate our large group with no hesitation (Thank you Nicole & Fernando). Seating accommodation we're comfortable, the staff were courtious, hard working and nice. Special kudos to server Franklin, and the bussers and runners assigned to our table (great job). The highlight of the our dining experience was the delicious food, the red sangria and cool music. New place so I went by. It's definitely casual vibe and I don't think I'd recommend a birthday here unless it's low-key and you just want good food. Good food is what they do. I went and my party of 3 was seated immediately after being greeted. Ilana was our host with the most as she was helpful since we had allergies and pickiness in our party. The burger comes with sweet potato fries which I love. I ordered the chicken entree and it was so creamy. My friend had the shredded beef entree which was bespoke also. The standout for me however was the appetiser chicken wings that were sticky and had this amazing sauce on it. I can handle spice so it didn't taste like anything to me. The empanadas were also good I had the beef and chicken and would recommend the chicken more just because that's my preference. Their lunch hour is till 4 and I'm not sure if we came during happy hour but my drinks were $8 each which is a steal compared to other prices. The only thing negative was it was heavily raining when we came and our to-go bags were paper which as you can imagine tore a bit but that's not the restaurants fault. Would recommend plastic bags though! Overall an awesome vibe to come chill with coworkers (since the mall is right there for all mall workers) and it's a happy hour spot with tv's and strong drinks. I went to the Sangria on Saturday November 4th 2017. The service was good it seemed that the staff was family they all got along with one another. I had the wings in the chilli sauce , they were to die for. Those wing were juicy and crispy. The sauce was sweet and spicy. My entree was a roasted chicken with rice and beans The rice and beans was good no added seasoning needed. The chicken had a sear on one side and nice and moist on the other side. My family and I went to Sangria for dinner on a Friday night, the weather was nice enough to enjoy the outdoor seating. The restaurant is nicely decorated and spacious with a very nice ambiance. All the staff members are extremely polite and friendly; Our server Michael was very nice and attentive, he checked on us frequently and was very helpful. There was also another staff member named Darrius that was very attentive; he always came over to make sure we all had water, he cleared off our table between courses quickly and he was very fast and friendly as well. Customer service is the key to a successful business and Sangria has a great staff even the Manager was very professional and friendly. You can tell Sangria is a great spot for the area because there are so many repeat customers who go back all the time. The food was amazing and very well seasoned. we had a huge platter with different samples of appetizers which was well worth the money! We tore it up :) Drinks were great and very nicely presented. Can't forget the DJ who played a great mix of old school hip hop & R&B, some new school and even some spanish music. Definitely recommend this spot for great vibes and great food. This restaurant was one of the few that are highlighted on the local news channel and so i decided to give it a try. I was delighted that i did. I checked out the menu n decided to go with the brunch version. My server was polite and helpful in answering my questions and offered suggestions where neccessary. I eventually had the chicken n waffles. It was delicious n filling. The best part of brunch is the unlimited mimosas/sangrias for 2 hrs. I thought the servers would take their time on refills n most likely i woul have 3 drinks. That was not the case. The Sangrias are indeed strong but since i have them occasionally, i went with the mimosas. Boy were they good. I had about 7 within that time frame. I was pleased that they allowed me to get a bang for my buck. My only disappointment was the 18% gratuity included for a table of two. With this outing the service was great so it did not matter. The (Red) Sangria was more purple in color , taste like water. Amazing Food! I've been here 3x but recently twice in one week because the salmon and shrimp mashed potatoes tastes amazing. The corn salsa added to the salmon is makes the salmon extra wonderful. I have also had the braised short ribs with yucca mashed and it's also a great option. The drinks are great! I had a Hennessy Sangria. I went on a Tuesday night once and there was a comedy show happening. If you want a nice atmosphere, great food and good music in the background played by a DJ, I recommend trying this spot! I held off ripping this place to give them a chance and found that nothing in my wait time has been corrected. To be fair, this place was ok when it first opened. I found now the bartenders are arrogant, ignore you, don't show enough courtesy to the local patrons. Yeah, I am gonna go there. If your Spanish or a woman, you get what you want, when you want it. I noticed that. I heard by rumor, but then I saw for myself. Last call means last call right? Unless you part of their thing. So, last call comes, can't get an extra beer, but I seen the little clicks get shots and everything way past last call. Especially if you dating people who work there. One night an unprofessional bartender says, "fuck this, I am out." Same Bartender is asked how you like this crowd and that person replies, " They ok, not the best tippers." Really? Another night some weed head Bartwnder ignored me for 25 min., before I had to get her attention. Oh, we talking about a Sunday night, light traffic. Here's the big one. Back when the super bowl took place I paid into a pool. They confused pools and somebody called me to tell me I won. Guess what? I go there and the bartenders screwed it up. I went there the other day The waiters and bartenders are super cool and attended to me and my group well. The food is great as well, shout out to the chefs. However, the way that the place is run is atrocious. And when I say atrocious I mean ATROCIOUS!!! There was no hostess at the door to greet us and the manager acted as the hostess. She then sat us at a table that was still dirty and being cleaned. She also continuously came to our table to talk to my group and asking a million questions trying to hang out with us. We are not your friends, go do your job. She also always try to grab people to dance who are simply trying to enjoy their meals, highly unprofessional. And lastly, the thing that made me leave, was that in the midst of all of that the bathroom broke down, pipes clogged and flooded out of the bathroom into the main area and had the entire place smelling like shit. I don't think anyone can enjoy their meals or drinks sitting in a shit aroma filled establishment. read more

I took my Husband there for Father's day. We found parking right in front, which was already amazing. We were seated almost immediately, Al fresco (outside). We sat for a while, unattended, until I flagged down a waiter passing by. Poor guy, He kept having to apologize for the wait between ordering everything! One customer really gave him a hard time. We were patient. They were slammed and didn't anticipate such a large crowd. When we finally got our red sangria, appetizers and entrée, everything was amazing! My Husband had the Pulpo, which he said was the best octopus. I had the Guacamole with real lump crabmeat. our entrées were the Paella with lobster and other sea foods, Machado with black beans and rice with a side of the best plantains I've had. This may become one of our best spots. The ambience of eating outside with the cool breeze, made for a most enjoyable time. Other customers nearby were friendly and engaging. Went here last night with a friend. I must say the atmosphere is great and the food was wonderful. Had grilled pork chops in a mango glaze along with yuca and grilled stringbeans. We shared a verde salad which was yummy. Although wait staff is beautiful and and friendly, this is not the place to go if your looking for good service. They are so slow. It took so long for waiters to first come to the table, after the check up on our meal took forever. In addition getting our check took a long time also. It was my first and last time at this restaurant. The service was awful, we waited for a half hour to get lunch. Mind you the restaurant was almost empty. The fish I ordered was not fresh, which made me sick for the rest of the afternoon. We had to ask the bartender to get us the waitress. The bill came to a total of $37.94 which included 18% tip, which this waitress didn't deserve. I would've give her $2.00 if that. When I received the balance of $40.00, I was given $2.00 and no change. I asked the waitress where was my change, her response was that it was only .06 cents. This has never happened to me ever. Music was very good, but why would the place serve the hookah to the person right next to me while I am eating. My cousin, who was with me, was coughing her lungs. We were never told hookah is on the menu. We complained to the waitress and asked for the check, the manager came over and his response was: " All the restaurants in the bronx do the hookah"!
