Sooooo disappointed!!!! Food horrible..... Ordered seafood Paella tasted like Goya box rice with frozen ceviche microwaved and added to rice. Spinach and cheese empanadas not authentic and only had spinach in them. Drinks Horrible. Sister ordered Sangria flight received 4 different kool-aid flavored drinks, I ordered a Tropic Obsession (I think that was the name) had several different alcohols but all i tasted was coco lopez. .Sent all the drinks back then got straight alcohol. I want to enjoy a drink with a kick but also made well and tasting like the ingredients on the menu. For this place to be called Sangria Lounge ..... at least should know how to make a good Sangria. The final straw was when when the waiter was bringing my sisters dish and he literally threw it on the table to run and sing Happy Birthday to the group at the table next to us. Although decent decor, live DJ, and ok ambience this place was horrible. Nothing authentic. So many TV's they should just start over and make this a sports bar. There are too many good authentic latin restaurants in the area and this one is a joke. Hopefully management takes notes although no compensation was offered for the horrific food and drinks. Extremely pleased after my first visit last night. Cocktails and food were delish. Sides need a bit more seasoning (yucca mash, shrimp potatoes). I went tonight with my sister and mom and we had a decent time! We order the carafe of sangria which was worth it to split between the three of us. It was off putting to wait so long for the food to come but our waitress Olga was so sweet. She was very pleasant, accommodating and apologetic for the long wait for the food. Once we finally got our apps and main courses they were pretty good and tasty! Also I don't think it's necessary to include a 20% tip in the bill! Give guests the chance to tip the wait staff. Honestly this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in my life. As a former employee of the service industry for over ten years I was appalled at my experience tonight. Getting sat was clearly an inconvenience to the staff. Once sat we were ignored for quite sometime when our server finally walked by and said she would be with us in 2 minutes. Of course it took longer than 2 minutes as well. My receipt said the servers name was Claritza but I cannot be sure as she did not introduced herself. She was extremely nasty from the start and got even more rude once she realized me and my friend only wanted to order appetizers. Never checked in on us, never smiled, never cared. It's truly not that difficult once you see your tables food come out to stop by and say, everything come out ok? There was another server working a the same time who was so sweet and seemed like she was doing an amazing job. I truly wish we had her. I can only imagine how different our experience would have been. We had drinks but were so turned off that we didn't want another round, which I'm sure bothered her more. It took forever to get to the check, we had asked a man who seemed like the manager. He brought it over. The total said 38. I gave him my card immediately. The server returned with the card and check however she had added the automatic gratuity. It wasn't worth the fight. She didn't deserve it and honestly had she not added 18% she would have gotten the standard 20% on principle alone as I mentioned I was in the service industry. I'm just so shocked at how terrible the service was. I was looking forward to coming here for quite sometime. That woman needs not only serving assistance but training in proper etiquette of treating human beings. I truly wish I could give this 0 stars. What a disappointment. I have been to Sangria for dinner twice and liked the food. Brunch was not good. Cold waffle , eggs nothing special. I dont understand adding a 20% gratuity to a bill for two people and then have the nerve to put at the bottom of the check"Suggested gratuity" with 18, 20 or 25 percent. A 20 % tip was already added. If patrons are not reading their check, they might tip again. I'm not planning to tip a waiter 20 % if they were not good. read more

I went for happy hour on Friday. I sat down at the bar to wait for my friends. I decided to order a sangria assuming that's what they specialize in. I called the bartender to me and asked which she recommended. She gave me the mango sangria. when she brought me the drink she didnt give me a napkin or a straw. I had to reach other and get it. When she came back to me I thought it was to apologize, negative, she came back to take my menu and hand it to the person next to me. The drink I must say it taste horrible. I ordered the mofongitos which were so good, thank god. When my friends arrived one ordered the henny sangri with ceviche. The ceviche taste like dish soap and her drink was nasty. The bartender came back to her and told her to take a sip so she can add more henny, smh why didnt she add the right amount the first time. My other friend ordered a pineapple mojito with recommended Calamari. Both were horrible. I tasted better calamari from a diner. I decided to take a chance i know I am an ass but I wanted to keep drinking. I ordered my usual passion fruit mojito, hard to mess that up. Yeah right!! after 5mins of stirring the drink to make sure it was blended well I felt like I was drinking passion fruit syrup. My friend who is a bartender grabbed another cup and started to mix her drink and my drink together in hopes of fixing the drink, sadly didn't work. You would think the bartender watching us do that would come and ask if everything was ok, NOPE!! She kept talking to a couple next to us. We usually end our happy hour date with shot of titos... I ordered the pork mofongo which came out ice cold and you know cold mofongo turns rock hard you can play baseball with it, I sent it back and decided not to order any food at all. I'm writing this review after about 5 -6 visits to this place. Every time I've been here the food has been inconsistent. I ordered the empanadas the first time I went and they were great the second time I ordered the same and the flavor, texture and even meat was different from the previous. I also had the paella which was bland and the seafood was shriveled up. The churassco steak was too die for with the chimmicurri and the flat bread with sausage and platanos was delicious. The cheesecake dessert was incredible but every time I came back to get it they "ran out" so I've never had it again. I'm sure being a fairly new establishment it takes time to get the right staff chefs etc but it's not really consistent which ruins the experience when you find something you like and you want to come back to have it again it should be just as good. Other than that the place is very laid back and a cool vibe for the local neighborhood. Definitely something needed to add variety to the area being that we only really have chain restaurants nearby the mall. Overall we will definitely be coming back. read more

I had a holiday luncheon here for my staff and I last week. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a cheerful hostess who sat my staff and I quickly. The manager Nicole was Also there to greet me When I walked in. Our server Crystal was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food she was serving us. She suggested the arepitas and empanadas and I loved it ! The cheesecake and flan here is delicious as well! I had the pernil from the lunch menu and tried a little of the ribs that one of my staff ordered. Both dishes were seasoned just perfectly and meat felt right off the bones on the ribs. Although I've been here many times and it's always been very pleasant love the staff, food, drinks and ambience. However today was my first brunch spent there and it was very unpleasant due to manager Tanya and her unprofessionalism. I waited more than 5 days to make reservations for brunch and and when I finally did she was rude and made me and my company feel very uncomfortable. I will not go there again unless I know for sure she isn't working there anymore! She embarrassed me and my company something I never went through and shouldn't have. I would love to continue to go there but won't for as long as she works there. Too much tention and I felt bad for her staff as well as she treated them as peasants when they were all lovely and attentive! Please resolve this problem ASAP and I'm sure Sangria Cafe will be great again read more

This is a local spot with a nice location and available parking. The food however is disappointing, not authentic Spanish food like you would hope. I have been here at least 3 times, each time being hopeful due to the location and convenience. This last time I ordered the lomo saltado which lacked flavor and presentation. I was excited about one of the ingredients that i never received which was something simple, "red onions". Then to add disappointment, I found a long hair at the bottom of my plate, that definitely wasn't mine (I have short hair). When I returned the dish instead of the manager coming to speak to me about it she sent the bartender over to dismiss it with a free drink instead of offering to replace the food or credit the dish. Our bartender "Peter" was very pleasant which helped us to stay a little longer. We also go there to enjoy hookah which is usually supposed to get there around 9:30/10 but somehow always gets there late. I really wanted to like this place but it felt short. I came here a few days ago during which a comedy show was ending so the hostess said it will be a wait for a table. So i said no problen knowing the comedy show was about to end and alot of peolple will leave i didnt mind a few minutes wait. Fast forward 20 minutes later tables were empty and cleaned hostess still didnt sit us down but she proceeded to speak to a friend of hers and ignore the fact me and my friend were waiting on a table. Another customer that was dining had to ask her why are those two girls standing by the door are they waiting to be seated. And magically she remembered that we were their. The hostess then proceeded to sit me and my friend at a table that seated 6 people wheb we were just a party of 2. Also right next to the table she wanted to sit us in was a crowd of people that stood hanging around to take pictures with the comedian. I kindly asked her if we can be seated at a further table away from the crowd taking pictures and she said no is that this table is already set up with the plates and napkins. I looked at her like are you kidding me and I told her is no problem and I moved my own plate and napkin and utensils to the other table because she clearly coulnt accomadate us. Get a better hostess she is the first person that everyone sees in your establishment. The drinks were great, the waiter was attentive but the food wasnt the best. And they let a group of kids in who I know for a fact were not 21 and drinking alcohol seated behind us. read more

Went for the first time today, with my husband and mother in law. Honestly the last time this place will ever get my service. First my appetizers took a whole hour to come out we devoured that & still After they came out we waited another hour and a half for our dinner. My husbands Mofongo was definitely more like Mangu and had a sauce that was not a mofongo sauce. I got a drink, strawberry sangria to be exact and it had No liquor. The waitress over heard my complaint and had no choice but to add more liquor. Not to mention they added their own gratuity and expected us to add more. Today marks my second visit to Sangria Cafe, and I have been most impressed by the attentiveness of the staff, including the manager "Tanya". They are most eager to accommodate any request and are cheerful in their services. The food is not only well seasoned, it is always served in abundance,and you will leave with a "doggie bag" whenever you order an entree. The live DJ was good, but the music was a bit loud which made it difficult to have dinner conversation without straining to hear what your companion was saying. But, given the hospitality of the management and wait staff, if I had wanted to have the music lowered, I have no doubt they would have accommodated my request. Their drinks are excellent, and the menu is moderately priced, I would recommend this establishment to a friend. read more

My family and I came for brunch. Don't wait your time. I understand we are a large party. But over Five of us ordered chicken and waffles, but only one order came with chicken and actually waffles the rest came with egos from the frozen section of the grocery store. The appetizers came out over two hours after we where seated. When my medium rare steak came out it was mostly well done. Then I was told it was skirt steak and it's thin on the side. The food is not seasoned or have any type of Latin flair. This establishment drinks are watery and mostly fruit punch. The Latin potatoes are greasy and just potatoes deep fried without seasoning. All of the plates looked different even if you ordered the same thing.... please please please don't waste your hard earned money on this place. So for starters when they first opened as any establishment the food and drinks were great! I ate there for brunch twice, then three more times for dinner. The first dinner sitting was amazing, the second and third were horrid. The steak that I ordered was extremely dry, no taste. What put the icing on the cake was my last encounter for brunch last Saturday. Omg I had a salad with the cheese and strawberries for an appetizer, it tasted amazing. That's really all I had because I was so full from that and the drinks, so for my main course, I barely ate , decided to pack and eat later. About an hour later I started getting sick. I had chills and was vomiting and sorry to be TMI but I had diarrhea. For 5 hours. All I was vomiting was the salad. Prior to eating I did have a small breakfast and coffee. I will say that I caught either bad bacteria. The salad had spinach, balsamic vinaigrette, strawberries and a sort of cheese. I am not lactose intolerant and I consume dairy almost every day. I am not sure how the establishment stores their salad and cheese but I WILL NOT BE EATING THERE AGAIN. The drinks however are great! read more

I have never been or will return to this restaurant ever again. Yesterday, November 4, 2018 was one of my co-workers birthday. Our group was approximately 25-30 people. We were set in a small separate intimate room as you enter the restaurant located on the right side. We had to wait for this area for an hour and a half outside in slightly cold weather. Once we were accommodated in this secluded area, our orders for appetizers, drinks and entrees were placed. When a few of us needed to us the restrooms, we were told that both restrooms were OUT OF ORDER!!!I asked the waiter, "so if you need to us the restroom where will you go." The waiter just shrugged her shoulders; as to say I don't know. I don't understand why we were not informed of this issue prior to taking our orders. Due to health issues, I personally needed to use the restroom; so I needed to go to the mall next door into Dunkin Donuts to use the restroom. The topper was when the food arrived....OUR FOOD WAS SALTY! I've had better tasting food from a local bodega. We were not treated with respect or sympathy being that we were tremendously inconvenienced. Our bill was not adjusted and a 18% gratuity was added for terrible food, NO RESTROOMS and poor service. IWILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE!!! PASS GO AND GO TO JAIL INSTEAD! read more
