Mitoushi ROCKs! I seriously LOVE this place!!! At $2.95 a roll for a decent selection it really cant be beat. I have never had a bad experience at this place and don't really expect to either. The staff is pleasant and attentive, the sushi fresh and delicious and its BYOB! there's not much more you can ask for. The worst customer service that I ever seen in my life. Me and my boyfriend went to this place to celebrate our anniversary but I couldn't stay there even 5 min, I asked the host to put flowers in a vase or bucket with water and he looked at me like he's hearing it for the first time in his life! He sat us somewhere in the middle of the crowd by very little table while there was an empty spot for two which he saved for his friends that walked in behind us and said hello to him. I will never ever go to this sushi place and I would never recommend it to anyone who goes to sushi places on Staten Island. My favorite sushi on the island is chikurin on new drop, the best service, the best atmosphere, the best tasting sushi, lots of space, friendly environment. Great place! I went there and had their all you can eat option, and it was fabulous. At about $27 you can eat literally every sushi they have. There is also hibachi and appetizers included in the all you can eat menu, finishing with nice ice cream covered in corn flakes. This restaurant is a must for sushi lovers. Service extremely poor & not friendly to the customers if your are not a group of ppl ;the only reason I gave them one star is their food were okay but the portion of the dishes are little. But one day;both me and my husband only ordered 2 bento boxes without any drinks that's why they treated very cold since If we are group of ppl; they will get more tips. The absolute worst ever. The sushi is not bad, but when they send you a delivery or pick up they are super stingy. I order for 50 dollars worth of sushi and they send me 2 soy sauces on the side. When disappointed that the shrimp tempura box came out just fried shrimp and fried veggies, our waitress was confused that we said shrimp tempura rolls. She told us well this is what you ordered. This place has a nightclub vibe, so I'm not sure what happens when you go later on, but their sushi is solid- not too imaginative but not too boring- it's fresh and good enough. I went here on my lunch break with my coworkers. We get an hour & it's right by our job, it was my first time coming. They have lunch specials for $7.95 so I ordered the shrimp hibachi which came with fried rice, a soup & grilled veggies. It was delicious & was just right for lunch. I enjoy coming here for sushi all the time you can never go wrong. Friendly staff that makes excellent recommendations. On my last experience I was able to start off with the spicy shrimp soup which I enjoyed greatly as it packed a lot of flavor. I always get the rolls here which are always excellent and can't forget the spicy mayo as well. For Dessert we were able to the green tea flavored fried ice cream which was really good! The sushi is usually good, but it can be a little inconsistent, and on bad days you might have to just pass on it altogether. In my opinion, its the best sushi on Staten Island. Large meaty pieces, and they don't try to skimp or use a lot of rice. It's delicious every time. There's a Mitoushi in Brooklyn as well, and the only that's different is the price; Staten Island's price for the sushi and rolls is $0.25 more expensive. I rarely get the special rolls or the chef rolls since they're usually over prices. But when you have a decent sized menu of rolls for $2.75 and sushi/sashimi for $1.50 or whatever it is, it doesn't leaving you wanting. If you're looking for great atmosphere, great sushi, and quick service (take-out or dine-in), come here! read more

I love sushi! I can eat it everyday and probably not get sick of it. This place keeps me coming back for more. The waiter, Eric is the best. Always makes sure everything is taken care of, even offers a free sake once in a while. Anyways came here late last night for my sushi fix. I split the Edamami (prob spelt that wrong) with my friend, great way to start. I got the yummy kani salad, which in my opinion is the best here then any other place cause I hate when there is too much mayo. I also got 2 rolls and the spicy tuna was fresh and the eel was delish! Love it here! I think the price for the sushi is great. I usually pick the avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll, and steamed sweet potato roll. I'm not a fan of raw fish but my friends and family swear by the quality. The hibachi lunch specials are a great deal as well (steak hibachi is soooo good). Beef negamaki or the tofu is my favorite to get when I'm in the mood for a hearty meal in the form of a bento box. Clear soup is the best here. read more

Before I start I want you to know that I have no affiliation with either the previous or new owners of Sanma Sushi which used to be call Mitoushi. I also want you to know that I really do know my sushi (I eat it at least 2-3 times a week and have had it all around the world) I also would look forward to getting home and visiting this establishment under the previous owners. Sanma Sushi in Staten Island is a complete let down from the previous owners. As soon as I walked in and no tables were occupied, I should have walked out. Absolutely no warmth or any greeting at all when I walked in and placed my to-go-order and switched a no rice for an extra- salad-it actually took 10 minutes to get an OK that the switch was good. Now for the bad stuff - The quality of the food was a big letdown- even the sushi rice - was burnt-. My octopus sashimi salad was half cooked -which means that they half cooked it because it was old, the white tuna was brown by the time I got home, and the quality of the other sashimi was poor and not what you would get here before or at ANY other sushi restaurant. In addition to me spending close to $50 they had the gall to charge 50 cents for a spicy mayo sauce. I will not be visiting Sanma again. read more

They have an AYCE special that is worth it as it pretty much includes the entire menu. We have been there several times and the food always seems fresh. Several appetizers worth trying as well as cooked food from the kitchen. Recommended is the spicy Edamame. There are at least 100 Sushi restaurants on Staten Island all competing in their own neighborhood. I think this one is worth driving past all of these an trying Sanma. read more

One of the best places to eat on the island. If your looking for inexpensive yet fresh sushi then this is the place to go. I usually just go for the 2.95 per roll sushi but the quality you get is beyond the price you pay for... Shrimp tempura roll n spicy tuna are what I order all the time.... The only bad thing about this place is the loud noise in the restaurant, its a small place so you can't really get away from that. We were traveling and I found out about this place from other yelp reviewers. It was awesome! My daughter got the Bento box and it was excellent. I had shrimp tempura that was so crispy and flavorful. My husband had a variety of rolls. The service was quick and friendly. We were three people at an afternoon lunch, all with different tastes and desires: a vegetarian, a shrimp and pork eater and a 9 year old who adores sushi. We ordered sweet potato rolls, cucumber rolls, vegetable udon, rock shrimp, edamame, dragon roll, and hibachi shrimp.
