    8 Chicken dumpling

We're walking the streets, and we stop at this location and we wated to try taiwanese dumplings. Service was friendly and joyful. We place our order: taiwanese beef noodle and a order of chicken dumplings. It was amazing. Its a most try

Sanmiwago took a moment to find--tucked inside Mott Street Eatery, a bustling little food hall--but once we spotted it, we couldn't wait to try their Taiwanese dumplings. The woman at the counter was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I loved that she spoke both Cantonese and Mandarin (and likely English too), which made the experience feel warm and familiar. We asked for her recommendation, and she suggested the pork and chive pan-fried dumplings--which turned out to be absolutely delicious. They had a crisp, golden bottom and were bursting with flavor. To our surprise, the dumpling order even came with a little cup of egg drop soup, which was such a sweet and satisfying touch. We also tried the beef noodle soup, which was rich, comforting, and perfect for the chilly, rainy day we visited. The vibe at Mott Street Eatery is very community-centered, with large shared tables that seat five or more. Seating is limited, so don't be surprised if a stranger ends up at your table--but honestly, that just adds to the charm. It's a lovely reminder of how food can bring people together. If you're in the mood for Taiwanese comfort food in a casual, welcoming setting, Sanmiwago is a hidden gem worth finding.

Upon approaching the counter, I was greeted by friendly staff. The dining hall had tables set up like in a classic Chinese family restaurant, very sentimental. The Beef Noodle Soup had simple, classic flavors but was good.

Computer touchscreen order entry does not work.

This is a basic place to get late night food. It is not gourmet and the atmosphere of the "dining area" is totally lacking. The broth of the Taiwanese beef noodle soup is flavorful, but the beef was sinewy and inedible. The fried rice dishes are a safer bet.

$7 for eight classic Taiwanese potstickers. The filling is well seasoned, the skin (with the signature starchy water wafer between dumplings) is delicate, and the chili oil, scallion, and cilantro fix-ins pair nicely. It's a stall in the Mott Street Eatery, which features modest communal seating. Notably, they accept card.

This is one of the stalls at the Mott Street Eatery food court. Apparently, Sanmiwago started in Taiwan in 1993 and has a few locations. The menu is a pretty limited selection of Taiwanese food. They mainly sell Taiwanese beef noodle soup, popcorn chicken, and dumplings, which is what they are known for. The dumplings come in 6 different flavors (shrimp, corn, kimchi, etc.) and are available either fried or boiled. I recommend their most popular and most juicy version - the fried pork and chive dumplings. While the food tastes decent, I will be honest and tell you that you can find better Taiwanese food at lower prices with bigger portions than this place. I had their beef noodle soup for example and it was fairly small and missing all the usual vegetables, for $12.50. Even their popular dumplings are $8.00 for 8 dumplings, which is way overpriced for Chinatown which is known for good, cheap and fresh dumplings.

Sanmiwago is a small Taiwanese food stall in Chinatown's Mott Street Eatery, known for its boiled and pan-fried dumplings filled with pork, chicken, cabbage, chives, and other ingredients. They have a full storefront location on Bowery, but since my sister and I were already in the food court, we decided to just order some dumplings here. * Corn with Pork Pan-Fried Dumplings $9.00 My sister and I love corn with pork pan-fried dumplings, but these were just not it. First, the wait itself was 20 minutes, I kid you not, and the entire time, I was just staring at the flashing red light on the restaurant pager, wondering if it was supposed to vibrate and/or make some noise, or just flash. Anyhow, 20 minutes later, our pager went off and we got our dumplings. The dumplings were fresh, hot, and juicy, with thin crispy skin, which I loved, but I was so confused by the flavor and filling. I thought these were corn with pork dumplings, so why did I only taste chive and pepper? And, I mean lots and lots of black and white pepper. My sister literally took a bite, spat it out, and then stopped eating altogether. Overall, so not worth the price and the wait.

This is inside the 'food court' of 11 booths, I counted 4 vacated and one not open serving. First visit 6-24-24 may be only.

Had pork chop with some noodles and veg to go. Person in food stand was friendly. Food was satisfactory for to go. I did not try their sauce which was on the side. My tastes would likely mean something I would not like. I do like spicy, in way some Szechaun Hunan and Thai food it, . did what I could at home to add some flavor. Sanmiwago highlighted as 'Taiwan' style, that the sauce was the key for the otherwise modest dish was. The medium-thin noodles were the best part of the dish. Pork cut into various sized pieces was a little chewy. One had a bit of bone. I could not fuss to make it more savory. It might have been better for me to get dumplings there or at one of other booths still open. The 'food court' is sad looking now. More locals and those looking for a seat and modest food in place other than crowded, small or restaurant service waits needed. I would be near lots of competition for dim sum items etc, in the area long before I pass 98 Mott Food Court (just N.) of Canal St, so that this my be my only visit ever. I saw about it on a YouTuber's livestream opening video, so promising.

Housed in the Mott Street Eatery food court, Sanmiwago is a standout stall that sells Taiwanese dumplings and a few other classic dishes, notably the unofficial national dish of beef noddle soup. Sanmiwago's dumplings are truly stupendous. The thin dumpling skin and generous pork and chive fillings comprising the signature option ($8) rendered each one a thing of beauty. Less spectacular but still very good was the beef noodle soup. Although well-priced, this was an imperfect dish. I found many of the beef cuts to be too tough with tendon. However, I liked the chewiness of the noodles (though slightly short of "QQ"). The broth was a highlight, with savory and slightly sweet and sour flavors blended together.

Food Court #2 Mott Street Eatery Today, I came here with my good friend Cynthia for dinner. We decided to try Sanmiwago for the first time. The cashier recommended their #1 Signature: Pork with Yellow Chive Pan-Fried Dumplings. I never knew yellow chive existed until tonight. Food: *sharing is caring* #1 Signature: Pork with Yellow Chive Pan-Fried Dumplings ($7) - I hate eating cilantro. I am not a fan of the sauce. The yellow chive tasted like I was eating napa cabbage.

Review for the Beef Noodle Soup only. The beef was inedible, like rocks. Soup was heavy with vinegar, which make it flavorful but it's not taiwanese beef noodle soup at all. Picked vegetable was good. Noodle was okay, slightly overcooked.

Kimchi Pork Dumplings ($10) are pretty spicy. One order contains 8 dumplings and comes with a free egg drop soup on weekdays. The heat builds as you eat it. I believe they put Lao Gan ma spicy sauce over the dumplings. Dumpling flavor is good but a little too spicy for me. You can definitely smell these dumplings as I walked around with it. Egg drop soup was good. It was served piping hot. Almost burned my tongue. Overall decent place for lunch.

Located in the heart of Mott street is this Taiwanese gem that is situated in the Mott Street Eatery where there are many chairs and tables for anyone who needs a rest from the streets. This place mostly has dumplings and noodle soups. I usually order the pork chop noodle soup and it is alright. Wish they were more generous with the noodles. I usually think noodle soups don't have enough noodles so having lots of noodles in the soup is a must for me. Good thing about this bowl js that the pork chop is chopped up in the soup so no need of a knife or anything to chop it up into pieces. Lots of scallions for extra flavoring although I usually take them out from the bowl. There were just two pieces of bok choy in the bowl so it's very little. Wish they gave more. But oh wells. It cost me $11 pre tax for this bowl.

My friend had the chicken dumplings. He said they were okay. I thought they were overcooked. My steamed shrimp shumai were fine, but steamed, they didn't have much flavour. The edamame, on the other hand, had way too much when it should have almost none. I don't know if it was excess salt, MSG or something else, but not good. I should have sent them back. The pacing of the meal for the quantity of food received seemed very rushed, and we didn't really have a chance to relax and enjoy any of the courses. However, the quality of the experience was a complete disaster particularly for the price. Clearly, the packed restaurant would disagree, but for the four of us anyway, we would not return. It started with the check in process at what felt like a long hotel front desk with multiple, self important hosts and hostesses overseeing your entrance to the cavernous bar/waiting area. One problem is the noise is so deafening that you can't really hear what they say to you but we check in a few minutes early and waited obediently in the bar area chatting. After about 30 minutes (15 after our reservation time), and watching numerous parties large and small who arrived after us be seated by the hostesses wandering through the dimly lit space who peer quizzically and ask your name, my husband went to ask for an update. (We joked that those vibrating lighted buzzers alerting when your table was ready would have been super helpful, but it was amusing to watch while we waited). It was clear they somehow lost track of us as she had him repeatedly spell our (not unusual) name. Anyway, after that, within 10 minutes after that we were taken downstairs to our seats (but not before standing awkwardly in the large dining area near packed tables waiting while our table was cleaned). Server with a heavy accent was kind and mostly helpful so none of this is on him. The busser who managed to spill half a pitcher of cold water on my husband's back, soaking his shirt and jacket and barely apologizing, is a whole other story. We managed to get a glass of his mediocre Cabernet comped for the experience. If I sound annoyed, I guess I still am.
