Prices are fair and it seems like they do a ton of takeout. There's always Uber Eats and Door Dash drivers popping in to pick up orders for delivery. A few of my favorites are the panang curry with whatever protein you choose and the soups are also excellent. Spring rolls, pad Thai noodles, curry puffs, chicken satay and the dumplings are always a good bet, and if you're in the mood for something light and healthier, the summer rolls are an excellent choice. What a huge disappointment! I ordered DoorDash, so I cannot speak of the customer service. I ordered Rama with shrimp, medium spicy. Rama is a (normally) a thick peanut sauce. That is not what I received. My sauce was very thin and oily. It was also a very small portion. I was planning on having half for dinner and the other half for lunch tomorrow. You'd think I was given a lunch portion as it was small like a lunch potion would be. It was definitely not worth the price at all. Roti Massaman (2/5): Sadly the roti was pretty bland and the Massaman was very thinned out. In the past, I've had a very rich curry that complimented when the roti was dipped inside. Cute thai restaurant in the area. In general, Thai food is not my favorite on Long Island but this is a reasonably good spot. This certainly will hit any cravings. However, the dishes varied in quality and flavor. The tom yum soup had a good tang and was punchy but was too oily and the soup barely had the solid components (mushrooms, protein of choice, etc.). I tried the khao soi which was well made, flavored, balanced and much heartier. The drunken noodles were bland and rather oily without much salt even. I wish it also had better textures. Thai teas were standard and good. Asked for leas ice but the drink had quite a bit of ice still. Service was quick and friendly. Great little find. The food is flavorful and cooked to preference. The food had depth of flavor, not just heat spice. We tried the chicken satay and roti with massaman curry, both were delicious. The chicken satay came with peanut Saul and fish sauce. The roti was crispy on the outside and soft inside, which paired nicely with the curry. We ordered large wonton soup which has a generous soup portion and about 8-10 wontons. The Pad Thai was flavorful and not too heavy with the tamarind. The pad ka prow was ordered with "spicy" level and that was equivalent to Thai spicy in most places. They have an even spicier level, Thai spicy. The staff is very pleasant. Being a Super Bowl weekend, we were the only ones dining in at the time. This will surely be our go to Thai place from now on. read more

The taste is good I will give it to them. But the portion of FAT from the crispy pork is legit 85-90%. Barely had any meat to eat with the fried rice. This place is a gem on Long Island for Thai food. I love Thai food in queens for its authentic taste but Sanook definitely hit the spot nestled in Hicksville, LI! When we arrived we were seated right away and the service was consistent and quick. We barely had to wait for anything. The food here was exquisite! The must try's: 1) Curry puff - amazing crispy flakey dough with minced meat inside and with a side of a sweet cucumber dipping sauce, it's the perfect pair with a balance of salty and sweet! 2) Thai Basil Chicken - this was amazing as well! The flavor from the Thai basil and the chili sauce they added was great! It is spicy so be careful when choosing your spice level, we chose spicy and it is in fact spicy. We loved it still! 3) Pad See Eew with Shrimp - the noodles were great! A staple for me when I am at Thai places. The noodles were coated with a sweet and tangy sauce with spicy shrimp and some veggies. It was a great addition. 4) lastly, my favorite Thai dish - Panang curry with beef - this was beyond amazing, I love panang curry and this was definitely made extremely well! The perfect creaminess, and the flavors of coconut milk, Thai chili, panang curry far exceeded my expectations! Definitely a must try! I love Thai food but rarely get it outside of Elmhurst, Queens ("Little Bangkok"). One tip I do have about ordering at Thai restaurants is to order things on the menu that you don't typically see on most Thai restaurant menus. At Sanook, I noticed a few dishes that were Isaan (northeast Thailand). And so I ordered the sausage and the Lao-style beef pho. The sausage was very tasty with a nice crunch through the casing. The pho was perfect for a cold day, a bit more salty than Vietnamese style pho with more umami. Overall, very good dishes. Next I'll try the jerky and laab. We discovered this restaurant when we were waiting for the traffic light on old country road. The place has only been opening for 3 months. Its small but well decorated and clean. The owner/chef is very nice and food is amazing. We ordered three appetizers and two main entrees and we enjoyed every dish. We have never seen Tom Yom fried rice on any Thai restaurant menus that we have tried. So we decided to give a try. Oh my gosh, it was so good. Full of flavor. It's spicy but not as spicy as Kee Mao fried rice. My husband ordered beef pad sew, it was really good too. Each dish is well presented and flavorful. We were so full and had to skip the dessert. This is a really good addition to the neighborhood. For appetizer, the Sanook Thai chicken wings and Thai dumplings were really good. We also loved the chef's special grill chicken. New owner, new name, and so far, food is good. (I eat Thai food once a week.) It is not the best customer service - compared to previous owner. The portions are a decent size but 80% noodles, 20% meat. And I asked for extra scallions and they charged me extra. Never had that problem with the previous owner either. They use a chewy rice & its fun to eat! ~We had it with CRISPY PORK which is pork belly & well - yes -fatty & meaty but delicious! ~The KHAO SOI NOODLE - had fantastic flavor, yet was more like a sauce to me than a soup! I could have spread the "soup" over 3 meals of noodles as it was very rich in coconut milk & also kinda sweet. We would frequent this place when the previous owners ran it and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the new owners take the same care in delivering a great dining experience. I have went to this place with every new name/restaurant it's been! It recently changed its name and has new owners and it's still Thai food ! Very small but cozy place that uses every bit of its footprint to accommodate inside seating ! The food that comes out of here is delicious ! The hot oil aka chili oil was better with the last owners which was more like a Chinese food chili oil they now serve more like a buy at the store. Bottled chili sauce like siracha sauce! Be warned about the spice ! When you say to them you like spice and make it hot/spicy I think the chef takes it upon himself to try and break you out of saying that by make you regret saying those words ! But bring it on chef you haven't broke me yet sure you might have killed a layer of stomach lining and made bland taste spots on my tongue because of how spicy it was but I'm still standing although I might be sweating with my tongue hanging out to try and quell the burning sensation. read more
