So on our last night in Tulsa the family decided to go out for dinner. There were 16 of us in total. I had a pretty simple dinner of a sirloin with garlic butter and a baked potato w/ sour cream and a salad. I could not even imagine remembering everybody else's food. I opted for the Chipotle bacon ranch salad dressing and I was surprised that it did pack quite a kick for a salad dressing. The steak was cooked to perfection. I was not a fan of the garlic butter, I was expecting more of a compound butter not melted butter with garlic in it. So that was a little bit of a letdown. And the baked potato was a baked potato nothing spectacular. The presentation was so so. But honestly what did expect...lol I would say the restaurant was loud but once again there were 16 of us at our table that contributed to all that noise. I was overly impressed with our server Hailey. Being a previous server it was pretty amazing how she kept everybody's orders correct (considering we have some picky eaters) and all of our drinks filled with minimal help from the other staff. read more

Went in with a larger group that sat at multiple tables. I had 4 guys at my table. We all ordered steaks. 3 out of 4 of them were overcooked. 2 of them, way over cooked. They ordered rare and there was no pink. Two steaks were sent back. One of the redone steaks was then raw. Not rare, straight raw in the middle. Sent it back again. They did discount the dinner that had to be sent back. Two people from our group sent back mixed drinks because there seemed to be no alcohol in them. Our waitress, Chloe, was very kind. You could tell it was a busy night for them. My husband ordered the large bone-in ribeye medium rare. I ordered the steak tips medium rare. Both meats came back a bit dry to what we would consider overdone. My husband's steak was medium well and my steak tips were cooked well done. Chloe, our waitress, said if that's not acceptable then she would take them back. After a little debate, between ourselves, we don't like to send back food and we've only done it once, years before at an Outback. This time my husband ordered his rare but I didn't. I asked for medium rare. One of the Manager's brought our food out and she was obviously not happy. She asked us to cut into the steaks to see if it was acceptable. My husband poked the outside and said he knew his would be okay. My husband apologized for sending it back and it being medium well. The Manager said, "well, if you would have cut into it deeper it would have been just perfect." You buy the steak to have an even cooked steak, not one that is burnt on one side and raw on the other! The idea behind steak is that it is evenly cooked! My husband poked his steak and knew he could eat it. I cut into mine and it was rare and inedible for me but I didn't bother to say anything. We never send anything back twice. The Manager, in a snippy manner, said, "the other steak was perfect." My husband said, "I've cooked enough steak to know what they feel like. I can eat the meat under a branding iron and consider it cooked." So, the steaks, at least for us on this day, were a miss. I hope the Manager has a better day tomorrow. Not sure if our waitress was new, but she charged me full price on the chicken tortilla soup that I added to my lunch order. I asked her about it, and she told me I was mistaken. She said it was $1.99 to have a soup or salad instead of a side for the lunch menu. We had to ask someone else if she was correct. Wish I have taken a photo of the fried catfish from the lunch order. Best food in Glenpool hands down. Went to Whataburger next door, 40 minutes for food. Left and came to Santa Fe. The staff was extremely friendly, we had Krislyn who was so sweet and knowledgeable on menu. The tacos were excellent! I will definitely order again. The price on point . We've eaten here many times but on Saturday night March 16, 2024 we were totally disappointed. Russell was our server and he should be given more training and support before working a busy Saturday by himself. Both tables beside us were also having trouble with their meals/orders. We had to request he bring the rolls (2 were edible the other 2 were hard and a bit burnt). By the time he brought rolls, we had already finished our salads & he didn't even bring us the plates to put our rolls on. We asked for steak sauce when he brought our steaks to the table but he never brought it so we finally went and got it ourselves. Nothing was ever cleared off the table so it was challenging to get the leftovers in the box as there wasn't any room with all the dirty dishes, roll basket and salad dressing sitting on our small round table in the bar section. We never saw Russell again after getting our ticket so we finally asked if we could have someone else process our payment. She said "No, but I'll let your server know." When he brought our receipt to sign he also gave us the ticket for the table next to us. Luckily both tickets were for the same amount so we didn't notice until we got home. read more

I've always had an issue with eating here. Weather it's the food taking forever or tasting off. I've noticed a lot of drama not only in their work atmosphere but to guests who come in and eat. I myself have had issues where I've come in with family or friends and host would be looking us down yelling or speaking loud to us for us to look up so they can sit at the host stand and judge to the point my family members and I felt uncomfortable and wanted to talk to them or the boss, I told my family let's not and we left. So, mom and dad and I were hungry and decided to drop by Santa Fe, being mom thought a steak sounded good to her. We ordered a chicken fried steak, a 6 ounce sirloin (medium rare), and a smothered chopped sirloin (medium). Dad's chicken fried steak was super tender and huge. My smothered chopped sirloin was done fine inside, but the edges tasted burnt. That wasn't a "deal breaker". Mom, however, thought she had a dull knife when she couldn't cut her steak with the knife in her cutlery set. So she requested another one. That one wouldn't cut through the steak without force, either. Unfortunately, it was her steak. While it tasted good and was done right, there was so much gristle that she didn't get to eat too much of it before being done. It was disappointing, as the sides and the bread were all spot on, and our server was really nice. Our only qualm about our service was that she didn't refill my dad's coffee, nor ask him if he wanted a refill. She also looked like a deer in the headlights when mom was trying to explain the issue with her steak for their quality control. She wasn't wanting a refire or reorder, she just wanted them to know. Between the gristle and the stringiness of tendon, there just wasn't much of it edible. So, long story short? 3 stars. It was a nice meal to end a nice day, but the steak should be the star of perfection on your menu instead of the non-steak items. I really miss the one in Bixby I wonder why they got rid of it. I've only been to this location twice and it's definitely not the busiest location. My waiter mike was a really nice and helpful waiter. I got here and was seated after waiting less then a minute. I got my drink order and rolls immediately. I order the 9oz sirloin, baked potato, and a caesar salad. I wasn't all that fond of the cesar salad because the dressing taste a little off, but it was still good. The meal itself was really good the steak temperature was on point a perfect mid rare and was seasoned well with the hickorywood. The only bad takeaway was the baked potato had a lot of butter on it I ended up scooping it out and it was fine. I went through a lot of tea here but my waiter mike was right on top of it. Honestly, one of the worst drinks I've ever had. Couldn't take more than a sip of it. I then thought to give them another chance and wondered if it was just the cheap drink that was this bad. Best steak I ever had? No. But it was cooked properly and tasty enough to eat without sauce. I'm usually pretty sensitive to overdone meat. I can handle rare or medium rare-anything else is burned. This steak was very nice. Sides were good and the rolls were great. The $2 drinks were nice, too. Our server was Joe and he did a great job. Friendly, funny, and efficient. He took care of us without being intrusive or neglectful. When we come back we'll ask for him. This isn't a swanky romantic evening out, but it was a lot of fun and darn good food.
