After more than forty pilgrimages to Grimaldi's, the baseline truth remains unshakeable: that…read moreblistered, black-spotted crust is a direct line back to the old country. The strategy here is simple. You order a pie--half pepperoni, half prosciutto. The prosciutto does exactly what it needs to do, but the pepperoni is the real headline act. It curls, it crisps, and it pools just enough oil to marry perfectly with a crust that achieves that rare, holy grail combination of thin, crispy, and subtly chewy. Dozens of pies later, it's still a ritual worth repeating. Food (4/5): The thin, crispy crust is the star of the show, and the pepperoni is dialed in to perfection every single time. Customer Service (4.25/5): Sharp and efficient. Decor (3.5/5): Unpretentious and classic. It carries that timeless, red-and-white checked tablecloth energy that focuses your attention exactly where it belongs: on the pie. Price: Around $17.50 per person. For a wonderful, sit-down brick oven pizza experience, it remains an absolute steal.

It is clean, well-ran, with just enough noise to be lively and fun without being overwhelming or deafening. The kitchen layout is visible to diners and it is always fun to watch how the pizza is made while you wait (but tortorous if you're starving!) The staff is super friendly and attentive from the moment you walk in until they wave you goodbye on the way out. The pizza is OUTSTANDING. They've mastered brick-oven style pizza. The mozzarella and parmesan are always fresh, the sauce is tangy and flavorful, and the crust is TEXTBOOK. As a non-crust eater the majority of the time, I find myself reaching over to my friends plates to do clean-up. Don't overlook any of the apps or calzones either. Things are super filling, however, so I recommend just splitting an order of spinach artichoke dip for the table while you wait for your pizza to arrive. Now being of legal drinking age, I understand why my parents would want a no-kids Grimaldi date time to time. The drinks are great and the bar atmosphere is a blast. I'd recommend checking out their seasonal cocktail specials. Pro-tip: Don't shy away from order a side of vodka sauce with your margherita pizza. Getting the vodka slice just won't hit as good. Also, definitely add the garlic, chili flakes, and extra parm from the shakers on each table to your slice. You don't NEED it per se, but it certainly does take things to the next level.

On Pi Day celebrated annually on March 14, I ordered from Toskana Pizzeria Restaurant directly through the website: http://www.ToskanaPizzaToGo.com/. The system was very easy to use. I was able to choose a specific time for pickup. I arrived at Toskana Pizzeria Restaurant at my pickup time and just had to wait a few minutes for my order to be ready. Staff were friendly. I ordered Mozzarella Sticks (6) for $11.95, Country Style Greek Salad (small) for $14.95, and the 14" Toskana Special Pizza for $24.95. There is a credit card processing fee. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and the marinara sauce was very good. I enjoyed the Country Style Greek Salad. The 14" Toskana Special Pizza had mushrooms, peppers, onions, pepperoni, and sausage. It had very good flavor and fresh ingredients. They also included a complimentary bag of bread which was nice and warm. Toskana Pizzeria Restaurant is my new to go to for an Italian meal.

The crust was crisp and brown; the sauce, tangy; and the cheese, good stretch. I enjoyed it with a can of Italian Mandarin-flavored Soda. The service was top notch. The man behind the counter answered all my questions about their homemade desserts (see photos below). I decided to forgo any until I lose a few more pounds. The interior was clean and tidy for a pizza shop that busy. The modest-sized shop already had about 10 customers in there just after it opened today for business--about 11A.

Sorry I won't sound that way in this review. I don't jump on YELP to review right away unless something's really got me irritated and fed-up. The Ambiance is basic pizza place IMHO.. Plenty of tables and space. I've eaten pizza and pasta dishes for at least 65 of my 70+ years on this earth and worked in a pizza place during the late 70s-early 80's and I KNOW my pizza AND pasta, especially the sauce. Today's baked ziti and baked stuffed shells was literally out of this world, meaning it tasted like it came from an alien, possibly one of those we've been hearing about on the MSM news. It Was HORRIBLE! No, I don't have pictures because I do NOT have a cell phone or a cam. My wife does but she is not home today. Trust me, I do NOT knock pizza places unless it is well deserved, like this place. This was the 3rd time I've tried this place. The 1st time I ordered the same as today. It was delicious. The 2nd time I ordered a round cheeses pie which was a bit too well done for me, so not satisfied. The very 1st time I had just a slice or 2 and was very satisfied, which is why I went back. Today, I'm sorry I decided to stop there. It's a total waste of $27 as I can't even eat this. It looks and tasted like leftover food from last night. The stuffed shells were way overcooked. So soft that when I attempted to transfer to a big bowl, they fell apart. Too soft and the "ricotta" was not creamy or melted. It looked like ricotta does when it's gone bad. I was afraid to eat it, THAT'S how bad it looked. I did TRY it along with the baked ziti, but not good at all. So, you might wonder how the baked ziti was? HA! NOT GOOD AT ALL! The ziti tasted as it looked. Overcooked. Some brown "burn" spots on the mozz, (very little cheese) and the same "expired looking" ricotta. I tried a couple fork fulls but it tasted burnt to me. well done, burnt and dry. Sorry guys but this was horrible and unacceptable. This was to be for my wife and me tonight. Now I'll just make my own, which I'm quite capable of and KNOW it will be edible and much much better than the garbage I was given today. I would call but the convo would not be pretty since I'm in a rotten mood, so I am just writing it here. I won't waste my time or gas in bringing it back. This place is NOT around the corner. I was just passing by again so I figured I'd get some hot food. I should've stuck with the pizza. I mean really; how do you screw up baked ziti and shells? There's 3 ingredients plus the pasta. The Ricotta HAD to be bad to begin with and then the overcooking it compounded it - or vice-versa. I hate throwing away food but this is going in the garbage AFTER I get my wife to take a couple pics. Both meals are in a big bowl, mixed together since the shells fell apart and I THOUGHT maybe the ziti could be salvaged using some of the sauce from the shells but even then, it tasted horrible. Obviously, Enzo's is off my fav. places to eat pizza/pasta list. It does take the #1 worst ziti and shells spot though. So bad I wouldn't even want another order if offered. I'll take the loss. It's not the first time I've wasted cash. Live and learn. Calda, Positano's, Sbarro's, Gino's and a couple other places nearer to me have yet to disappoint, so I'll stay with them. So now, having just wasted $27 and annoyed at that thoughh it could've been worse, I'm going to drink my blues away with a beer or 3 and then I'll feel better - or fall asleep in front of the TV. If my wife takes a picture and we can figured out how the heck to upload it from her phone, I'll do that as soon as possible. EDIT: The bread given with the meal was also hard and cold as if ( again ) it was leftover from yesterday or even before then. But from what I recall about the bread, it looks a lot better than it tastes. I'll be throwing that out too.

The plain cheese slice was exactly what it was supposed to be and the barbecue chicken was shockingly delicious. I probably could've (should've) only had the chicken barbecue ...it was super heavy and thicker than the standard slice. Somehow I managed to take one for the team and not have any leftover. Go figure. My colleague wolfed down his Sicilian slice and garlic knots. He was very happy. So many different options. I'd like to go back and try a few others.
