Monthly lunch with former co-workers, we like to try a new place every month. It's been quite some time since I had been here. New owners & new look. The place is painted white so it's so bright and cheerful the moment you walk in. We sat at the round table with red and white checkered table cloths under the wall menu. A couple people had already arrived so the table was already set with placemats, silverware, water & menu's. I started with the Chianti $8 a glass, not sure what the white wine was that friends were drinking but it was $12 ouch! The server was attentive and gave us plenty of time to all get situated before we ordered. The busser dropped a basket of bread and butter and we all ordered. I had the stuffed shells, they were good and so was the sauce. Leftovers to take home! The parking lot is small so you generally have to park on the street but that's so common for the city. read more

The road was closed as I drove up for lunch but thank goodness this Buffalo treasure has been saved from the lost and missing amongst Buffalo's rich heritage of restaurants! I had last stepped through these doors before COVID but immediately I felt at home! I looked around at the smiles hearing the rumble of happy conversations people enjoying being part of community which is always enhanced with good food . And good it was ... two young women arrived table side to wait on me. Pasta fagiol for sure and spaghetti with just on meatball. I knew lunch would be lunch and dinner but I couldn't wait to dig in. Dining area's clean white appearance creates that I feel good sensation but so does attentive staff. Believe me I felt good!!! Love being able to look into the kitchen ... noticing splatter reminders of the sauce,/gravy that had enhanced happy diners' meals. Oh my ... it's no surprise that Santasieros is known for the amazing pasta fagiol, which is more stew than soup overflowing with beans and underneath that comforting broth. "Mama mia" to quote Abba ... that meatball was meatball perfection (It was a smart move to order just one) sitting as king on top of a sauce/gravy covered hill of spaghetti. Each bite was sooo good ... I sopped up every speck of red with my bread. I left happy and sated ... the treasure house is back don't miss this special place!! read more

Review since new ownership: Very slow service. Elderly waitress. She should not be working. Very negative person. Can't hear. Place was 3/4 full at 1pm on a Thursday. Hard to park. Lots of construction. Restaurant has been painted and cleaned. Bread is extra!!!!!! Nickel and diming. Kitchen was out of a few things. And get this they don't serve coffee or have a real dessert menu. I get that it's old school but come on now. Great food. Excellent sauce. Good portions but expensive for what it is. read more

Spaghetti, meatballs, Italian sausage in famously delicious sauces that are so good that today the restaurant was full and had to turn people away! Having just re-opened in a spruced-up setting, it was gratifying to see Buffalo's welcoming response to this landmark restaurant. New management took over but didn't sacrifice quality or scrimp on portions. The same wonderful sauces we've loved for decades are back! You'll enjoy a traditional relaxing Italian meal that is not rushed. They're not trying to flip tables. You can enjoy fine beverages including beer and wine from their full bar along with your company. Bread and butter is provided while you wait. Save room for gelato for dessert. You'll really love this gelato. BTW - they proudly service locally produced foods, including ravioli, Italian sausage, and gelato. The restaurant is on Niagara Street at Lafayette, which is currently closed to through traffic. Bus riders can reach the restaurant on #5, #40 (from Niagara Falls), and #26 Delavan (a short walk from Delavan and Niagara St). read more

We are sooo thrilled that Santasiero's is back!! Such a Buffalo institution with such history! The new Owners respected the tradition and have the original recipes including the incredible 'gravy'. They enhanced the ambiance with taste and class by refreshing the space and architecture and made some nice new touches with natural light in the back room and added a side patio. Also love the historic family pics on the walls. The food was great! The best part is that not much changed with it......as we wanted what it always was! But actually the chicken for the chicken parm was better and the wine menu is enhanced. We will be back many times and look forward to bringing our family in also for Sunday Sauce! They're back after a lengthy closure due to a death in the family. Let's show our support by visiting them, especially if you missed them as much as I did! Same quality food at reasonable prices and same cozy atmosphere! Attentive service but not rushed. This is where locals go to dine and take their most important guests. Not a tourist trap. It's good to have this legendary restaurant back on the scene! They are a long time favorite of mine. Reservations accepted for tables of 8 or larger. Takeout is available again too! Glad to have this legacy level restaurant back open. Simple menu, stick to what you know. Marinated hot peppers, meatball bomber, spaghetti and meatballs .... all very good - the meatballs are outstanding. Service was slow, but only because they were super busy. They didn't have enough bread to give me an entire loaf [it is on the menu] - but the table bread was refilled, so I was good with that. I love this place. read more

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Santiserios last night. I love everything about this restaurant. The checked tablecloths and the wine glasses were a touch of nostalgia. Our server was adorable. Very kind and friendly. The food is absolutely fantastic!! Pasta for me and stuffed shells for hubby. Took home some pasta fagiole and a quart of sauce. First time since reopen. Place looks great, proper staffing levels waiter wise and in kitchen. Food like original with few added items plus nice wine list. On negative I sat near main door which was over crowded with people waiting for table many of whom encroached on people who were dining. I'd recommend reservation system in future, there's just no place for people to stand when busy. read more

It is the new version of Santasiero's in the upgraded decor. As for the food, it is as great as it was in the 70's - 80's when we went for work lunches. Our waitress, think it was Trish, was very attentive and engaging offering her take on certain menu items. Enjoyed our dinner immensely and we will definitely be back! read more

Went to Santasiero's last week. Love the updates that they did on the building. Food was great, I had the Italian Roast Beef, it was awesome and enormous. Highly recommend it! read more
