You'll be eating wonderful food made in Buffalo
Jim G.

Spaghetti, meatballs, Italian sausage in famously delicious sauces that are so good that today the restaurant was full and had to turn people away! Having just re-opened in a spruced-up setting, it was gratifying to see Buffalo's welcoming response to this landmark restaurant. New management took over but didn't sacrifice quality or scrimp on portions. The same wonderful sauces we've loved for decades are back! You'll enjoy a traditional relaxing Italian meal that is not rushed. They're not trying to flip tables. You can enjoy fine beverages including beer and wine from their full bar along with your company. Bread and butter is provided while you wait. Save room for gelato for dessert. You'll really love this gelato. BTW - they proudly service locally produced foods, including ravioli, Italian sausage, and gelato. The restaurant is on Niagara Street at Lafayette, which is currently closed to through traffic. Bus riders can reach the restaurant on #5, #40 (from Niagara Falls), and #26 Delavan (a short walk from Delavan and Niagara St).

San Pellegrino,, small order of fried hot peppers, cheese ravioli with 2 house made meatballs smothered in that legendary red sauce

They're back after a lengthy closure due to a death in the family. Let's show our support by visiting them, especially if you missed them as much as I did! Same quality food at reasonable prices and same cozy atmosphere! Attentive service but not rushed. This is where locals go to dine and take their most important guests. Not a tourist trap. It's good to have this legendary restaurant back on the scene! They are a long time favorite of mine. Reservations accepted for tables of 8 or larger. Takeout is available again too! Everything is just as good as it always was.

There were only a few other guests during our stay and things began to pickup as we were leaving. In the past, later at night, we've walked by and the place is quite packed. If you like quiet intimacy and a deal on drinks and food happy hour is your golden time here. I almost hate to share this secret tbh. Don't go. Leave this for me haha. The drinks here are all delicious and lovingly made. Really superb cocktails that taste good. The food is pretty good. It is clearly prepared well and presented artfully. I do think that calling a burger, "A quest for heaven" and not having it be super memorable and mind blowingly flavorful is a miss. It's a good burger and I'd eat it again but it's not a craveable item and I hoped with such a small menu it would be amazing. The charcuterie is super generously portioned and the nduja add on is a huge portion of nduja. Get the charcuterie. The crab toast was good and I'd get it again. We want to try baked brie next time. We also tried the pistachio mousse dessert and it was very pretty but lacked a lot of pistachio flavor. A chocolate cup full of unflavored but rich whipped cream and a minuscule amount of pistachio flavored something that was holding the cup to the plate. We were mostly just confused by the name of the dish versus the experience. It was good just not pistachio mousse. We actually wondered if someone accidentally prepared it wrong. We were here for an anniversary and were given free champagne before our meal and offered more at the end which we declined because of all the other lovely drinks we'd had. The service was great, the staff were polite and informed about the menu and drinks and the bartenders made wonderful things. Will be trying Saint Neri again soon.

Marble + Rye has been one of my favorite spots for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I don't get…read moreto go as frequently as I would like to do so. So it was a pleasant surprise when a friend and I decided that we'd stop by. This was their first time here and admittedly I was happy because they haven't had many pleasant food experiences in Buffalo. I believe they haven't been going to the best places but that's another conversation for another day. Okay so let's dig into the experience. We were running late and arrived at approximately 9:40 pm. I was nervous that we'd either a) be turned away or b) not get the best service since it was so close to the time that they closed. Let me be the first to say that that was not the case at all. We were seated in the most perfect little nook tucked away near the door. Dimly lit but cozy for good vibes and good food. Our server Megan came over and she was truly delightful. She provided really great recommendations. It was the perfect mix of personal reccs, insight on bestsellers, and answers to our mainy questions. We ultimately settled on two pizzas, fried rice, and a buyer (not pictured). The food came out in a timely manner. The drinks were incredible and the service was undeniable. Special shoutout to Megan again for offering a one of a kind experience. Misc: There's a parking lot next door to the building never knew. Prices are a tad steep but the vibes are good. Kitchen closes at 10. Check hours before going. Fried rice is a tad spicy but delicious. Drinks are perfect! I can't wait to go back :]

Little did we know this gem was right around the corner from our hotel during a recent visit to…read moreBuffalo. We were looking for a spot to grab a small bite and some drinks to wind down and didn't realize just how good this spot would end up being! Their Detroit-style pizza was legit, with really good dough texture and a nice frico. I wish I had found Marble + Rye earlier on in our trip because I would've definitely gone back for more of the pizza. We weren't looking for any more food, but their menu sounded really good and if I'm in town again, I'll certainly stop in to try some of their other offerings. Regardless, I definitely recommend the pizza! They also have a really good cocktail menu. Their bar staff were all really friendly and knowledgeable. Aside from pizza, I'd make sure to stop in for a cocktail, as well. Overall, our time at Marble + Rye was short and unplanned, but it still left a great impression and made me wish I could go back a second time to explore both the cocktail and food menus further. Check it out if you're in downtown Buffalo!
