Ive gone here growing up and theyve always been amazing. I just recently introduced my SO to it and he cant get enough of them he is suprised at how good they are for their price plus how small the shop is. I went in this moring to get some breakfast burritos got there as soon as they opened and i was in and out in under 5 minutes. The staff is friendly and fast. They make sure everything is correct and that you are satisfied as a coustomer. I would reccomend this place to anyone and everyone. Is fast easy. They. Dont have seating there but this is the kind of food you wanna lay back on your couch or bed or whatever watch a good movie or tv shows and enjoy in the comfort of your own home. read more

Okay, for some reason the employees here can not get orders right. Came in here the other day to get dinner and they didn't give me the bean and cheeses burrito smothered. So I called and they told me they would give me a two week credit but after the two weeks it would expire. What!? So I asked, so if I don't come back in two weeks I don't get the food I paid for...? The girl said "okay after the two weeks it will still be good." Umm okay cool. So I came back in today to get the burrito and they give me a burrito in foil when I asked for it smothered and she said "oh sorry that's what the girl wrote down that you wanted" and when I said that's not what I ordered the girl looked at me with a blank stare and said nothing... so I left. Not going to come back to this location. I like Santiago's food but the people here are not the smartest. read more

This place is basically known for its spicy green chili, which can be eaten by itself or ladled over a breakfast burrito. In the end, my friend and I benefited from the latter, a smothered breakfast burrito ($3.50). The burrito itself has your typical ingredients, such as eggs and ham. The green chili choices are mild, half-and-half, or hot. While many people love getting the half-and-half, I predictably opted for hot to get the full heat blast. This was the first (and only) green chili I had in Colorado that made me sweat a bit after eating a good amount. I loved it. It's got a pleasing kick, even when just using jalapenos to add heat and flavor to the chili. Make me hurt some more! The best part: you can also order online from their website! While the burrito was rather small, the filling possessed great flavor. Adding shredded cheese significantly contributed to the experience; the green chili melted that cheese properly. Can you say awesome? I feel like I need to share a rather awkward experience. While taking photos (which I love to do), one of the workers in a blue shirt decided to give me one of those evil eyes, almost like I was some type of criminal. I'm unsure if he was just in a sour mood, or perhaps worried someone was spying on him, but regardless, he needs to have a more pleasant disposition when visible to the general public. Oh Santiago's, I can't do Saturday mornings without you. I have tried most things on the menu, but what really keeps me coming back is the breakfast burritos. Filled with eggs, potatoes, ham, cheese and spicy chili these burritos are rolled up in foil and served hot. This heavenly creation can be ordered in mild, medium or hot AND costs about $2 and some change. Sold yet? This tiny little Mexican food restaurant is always hoppin', so you know its got to be good. Ok so if you've never tried Santiago's breakfast burritos you're missing out. And I'm serious about this I buy them by the dozen, freeze them and reheat for breakfast. My co workers have become addicted to the point I take a large yeti cooler with me to Colorado and bring back a freezer full. However, during my last two visits, I ordered bean burritos with NO meat or pork green chili - only to be disappointed to find meat in them! I've only had the breakfast burrito and it was really good! This being my first time here I wasn't sure on how big the burritos were , but for less than $3 I figured they weren't huge. I got 2 and it was just right for my appetite. The breakfast burritos come with eggs, potato and THEIR choice of meat for the day (I came on bacon day...I didn't see it posted anywhere so I think you just roll the dice). They ask if "you want hot, mild, or 1/2 and 1/2.." Not knowing exactly what they meant I did what the person in from of me got, 1/2 and 1/2. I figured out what they meant was "what type of green chili do you want on your burrito." 1/2 and 1/2 did the trick, but note that this is not the same as "medium", you get the hot and the mild so there is the hot heat but the mild softens it some. This is a grab and go place. You order at the register , stand in the small lobby area, and get your bag of food and go. Parking is a little limited but people are in and out so something opens up fast. I'll be back sooner than later. I'm guessing the no breakfast is just as good. read more

3.5 stars for the food, +0.5 for the great value! We tried the breakfast burrito, chile relleno, and tamales - all smothered with Santiago's green chile goodness. While everything was good, the gf and I both found ourselves craving for more breakfast burrito awesomeness! Regarding the spiciness levels... this is where I struggled the most with deciding what to get. After reading tons of reviews about how insanely spicy the hot green chile was, I wussed out and ordered everything half-n-half save one breakfast burrito (hot). No offense, but if y'all think the hot green chile is spicy, you haven't had spicy. We both agreed that the hot green chile had a nice peppery taste and a little heat, but that's it. Santiago's had a small but constant line of customers early Sunday morning, so I can only imagine how packed the place gets during the week! Excellent menu, that is really cheap in price and delicious in flavor! The HOT salsa is acually spicy, not to mention the generous portion sizes. And the best breakfast burritos that I've had in Denver. Only 2.50 a pop, so get like 4 of them. For lunch I had the Large Platter, a burrito, enchilada, taco, tamale, tostada, beans and rice for 9 dollars... I was shocked. This place is always packed whenever I go and it's for good reason! Was down the way at the Audi dealer and needed a good quick lunch for on the run back to the office. A little like the soup Nazi - know what you want, order appropriately, don't pause, pay, and then move to your right! I got the meat and bean - meh - i should have gone with chorrizo or just bean and cheese.. Hot had a nice kick, good and messy to eat - so don't try it in the car! Today I counted 30 ppl standing in line with kids in tow waiting on orders of burritos for breakfast If you need more of a testament as to how good their burritos are, well there it is. At $2 bucks a pop for a mild bean or breakfast burrito they were flying out the door, and the night prior at another really good Mexican restaurant a smothered cost me $10. Could have gotten my morning breakfast smoothered for under $5! The folks at this location are quick and keep the line moving, hustling between taking orders and helping to fill the orders which aren't all the $2 buck version. Standing room only and the most patient people ever because the reward for not having to cook is worth the short wait. I was 7th in line, a small order all of 10 minutes from getting in line and out the door. Would have been a shorter time there but I had a special order. As folks filed out, more filed in and they the staff had been at it for several hours before but they were moving like they had just started not one missing a beat. I was supposed to head out for brunch at an upscale restaurant but so glad the plans changed because this breakfast was not only tasty but didn't leave that huge dent in my pocket book that the other would have. I LOVE THIS PALCE. It is my go to place for Mexican. I love their Indian tacos and their Chile rellanos. They are reasonably priced and delicious. However if you are going in for breakfast burritos then be prepared to wait. I think they might have a call ahead. Get your order smothered in Chili. I got the half and half green chili which was just the right amount of spicyness. Very flavorful, the locals say the best in Denver. Take out only, small place. The prices are cheap and the food is as you would expect from a Mexican place.... but the Chili sends it over the top. Next time I think I will just get a quart of the Chili and call it a day. The breakfast burritos are only two dollars and are supposed to be bangin, but they don't serve them outside of breakfast hours so I'll have to try them some other time. read more

I've been coming here since high school for their cheap breakfast burritos. I tried rellenos once, don't do it. If you're not into breakfast burritos then try an Indian taco. You won't regret it. I would recommend the half & half green chile unless you eat habeneros like candy on a daily basis. Word to the wise: Pay attention to your order number or some crochety old man will take or food. Delicious! Arguably some of the best burritos I've had in Colorado! Having never eaten here before, I ordered a carnitas burrito with mild green chili inside and a chicken and rice burrito with HOT green chili inside. That chili made the meal! Without it, these would have been good. With, they were amazing. The hot is not gringo hot, it's HOT. Hot enough to clear out my sinuses and give me a runny nose while eating. I'll definitely try the half-and-half next time! Costing $3 and $2.50 respectively, I figured they'd be tiny. I was wrong! Granted, they were not the size of the chain burrito places that fill half of it with rice, they were well worth their price.
