What a great dining experience, I'd encourage people to try them out. The place was very clean from the table cloths, glasses and silverware. What I found refreshing was how the wait staff treated our table, they allowed us time to review the menu and enjoy our drinks and food. For the food, it was large portions and high quality. **Those with allergies beware** I'm not one to leave bad reviews unless there is a disregard for health and safety which this is. Was out to dinner with my wife (who's allergic to gluten). This was explained to the waiter who seemed to understand. First we ordered an appetizer, the fried burrata. It does not say it's breaded on the menu, we did mention to the waiter if he could make sure it's not breaded and if it was to please just bring us the "burrata" appetizer which was clearly gluten free. Sure enough appetizer arrives, breaded and fried. Once we stated "it's breaded", he question "it is?". Thing looked like a giant round mozzarella stick (but in ball form). He quickly took it away and brought out the plain burrata. Great. Now onto the main course. My wife ordered the Moussaka, without the bechamel sauce (because that's made with flour). Sure enough it arrived at the table with the bachamel sauce. We sent it back, well because she's allergic to it. The waiter comes back and states. "The chef said it can't be made without it" now understand it was simply a dish with two sauces and this was the second sauce. I questioned why they just couldn't put that sauce on and the waiter responded "Well the chef said it would be bad without it". That's when I got upset. I again said well she's allergic to it, at which time he actually had some panic on his face. He raced off to the kitchen came back and simply said there was nothing they could do. I expressed frustration that when he put the order in that way if they weren't going to do it the kitchen should inform him of that instead of just sending it out with something that has an allergen to a customer. So be warned if you are allergic to something and it's something that you can't see with the naked eye be careful if the chef believes it will be bad without that ingredient, allergy be damned it will be in your meal!! Aside from that I (who can eat gluten) ordered the Chicken Santorini, it was lack luster. However I will say the waiter was an extremely pleasant person. read more

The reviews about everything going downhill after the atmosphere are pretty spot on. The place is really beautiful! Servers and staff were very nice as well. The dining room is PACKED with tables. It got to the point where staff had to move two tables together just to get around, and I had to scoot in to the table just for customers and staff to walk between me and the table behind me. Way too crowded for no reason. The food was fine. Service took a while but everything came as ordered. Nothing to rave about but still solid. We got the artichokes as an appetizer (which were delicious), and I got the Astakomakaronada as an entree. My fiancé got a Greek salad (which didn't have any lettuce) and spanakopita. After eating, we sat for at least 20 minutes before our waiter came back to check on us, and took another 15 just to get the check. Santorini is a solid spot for a large party to go and enjoy some Mediterranean eats. We had a party of 7 which can get pretty pricey when going out to eat. Luckily at Santorini, it is BYOB so it makes going out to eat more affordable. What I liked most about the place? The service was great. Erika and the rest of the team were accommodating, friendly & attentive. Now onto the reason you go to a restaurant, the food. For appetizers we ordered the artichokes, octopus and tzatziki. The octopus was cooked really well with a delicious pesto sauce. The artichokes were pretty solid but wish there were more than 4 halves served for $15.95. The tzatziki was average...I've had better but I've had worse too. For my main course I went full Greek mode and got the moussaka. It was a pretty run of the mill moussaka. It didn't blow me away but still was respectable. The eggplant was a little too soggy for my liking but all in all it had good flavor & met my expectations. Thankfully I didn't order the tuna steak special because I tried a bite and it was like shoe leather. The food is phenomenal! Very very very good but the portion size is not big at all. I ordered a fish special. It was delicious. Nice size piece of fish with like 4 mussels and 2 clams. I was satisified with mine. My husband ordered filet. A small piece of filet and 4 asparagus. Of course that doesn't fill Him but I told him he should of ordered a side and an extra appetizer. We had the burrata with pesto as an app and again delicious. Their food does not disappoint. Very good flavor and you don't need salt or pepper. The ambiance is nice and bright but I don't like how loud the music is. I think that can be turned down a little bit. Just a little too loud for my liking. How this place can use a Greek island as their title is beyond me. This is not close to a Greek restaurant. It is basically a third-class , overpriced Italian restaurant. Portions are small and prices ridiculously expensive. This restaurant would be out of business in 6 months in Central or northern jersey. Let me start off by saying that I normally don't leave negative reviews for restaurants. We ate at Santorini's for the first time tonight. We had a reservation for a large group of 12 and were seated on time. The decor and front staff were very pleasant and professional. Our waiter, on the other hand, was not. He took our orders, skipping one of our guests. It was an honest mistake, but things kept going down hill from there. He took the order from the missed guest, a teenager and told her that it was an adult meal and she wouldn't like it? I found this to be very rude and condescending. We found out as the last person was ordering that there were daily specials. The waiter failed to tell the whole table about the specials and seemed annoyed when I asked to change my order to one of the specials. Our entrees came out and that's when the real fun began. -The linguine Pescatore was served with an empty bowl to place the empty shells in. It was filthy! Black crud, literally filthy! I informed the person who brought the bowl that it was dirty and he seemed to be annoyed that I did.. He tells me it's for the shells and that he would bring a clean bowl. I of course know this! It's not my first time eating seafood! That doesn't mean I want a dirty bowl when I'm paying for whats supposedly a fine dining experience. I later found out that the same person was the manager and possibly the owner. Now I understand that it's just for empty shells but there seems to be no respect for cleanliness in the dinning room! We never got the clean bowl, we had to ask our absentee waiter for one. But it only gets better folks they served us closed dead muscles!!!! The person eating that entree didn't notice right away and began to eat. She told me that the calamari in the linguine Pescatore was hard and rubbery. I look over and saw the dead muscles and stoped her from eating anymore! At this point I was fed up and asked to speak to a manager and long and behold it turned out to be the same guy who gave us a dirty bowl. I showed him the dead muscles and with no concern he tells me that it happens sometimes. I told him yeah but you don't serve them! If it was made to order this would have never happened! It seemed to be no big deal to this guy! He offered an empty sorry and was on his way. No comp for the entree that couldn't be finished or no offer to make a new one! Bad shellfish is no joke! You can literally kill someone! He did give us two order's of free tiramisu? That the person couldn't eat because of a milk allergy. Just crazy. How does $10 worth of dessert fix a $40 entree and not to mention potentially making someone extremely sick?? -The lamb chops weren't cooked to medium rare as requested. But tasted ok. -The Greek Chicken was definitely not cooked to order just reheated. -The rissto in the Scallops Risotto was undercooked and hard. -The Seafood Ravioli Special was pretty good. -The $85 Grilled Seafood Platter was dry and overcooked. -The Halibut Special was dry. -The Vodka Gnocchi had barely any cream in it. Not a true vodka sauce but more of a blush sauce. Our drinks were never refilled the whole time. Our waiter was horrible! He never once check on us. We had to flag him down. We asked for bread multiple times and when it finally arrived everyone was done eating. We also asked for grated cheese and it also came after everyone was done. We literally felt as if he didn't want to wait on us. Mind you we weren't being rude or annoying. Just asking for the basics that should have been offered by him. We get the check and a tip is automatically included because we are a large party and I'm totally fine with that. But not for 20% it's normally 18%. I'm a big tipper and usually tip 25-30% depending on service. This waiter barely earned the 18%. Especially on a $800+ check. We eat out a lot and we definitely don't mind spending big money to do so. The food was definitely subpar! Basically diner quality! The food isn't made to order and is not prepared correctly. Amateur hour.. For price to quality ratio do yourself a favor and skip this place! Go to any diner and you can get the same thing with better service. We normally give places a second shot, but unfortunately this establishment won't be one of them. I would like to offer some advice to the owner. -Largest table = biggest profit. You lost out on $1,600 a season on us alone. -Make your food to order - At the very least the seafood should always be made to order especially shellfish! -If you screw up admit it and make a new one or comp the guest. -Train or relocate employees who lack respect and don't understand what waiting on people means. -20% included tip on all checks will guarantee lazy waiters. It's a shame because we really wanted to like this place. I wish you success and I hope you improve for the better. You could have had a customer for life, but your waiter and kitchen practices have guaranteed that will never happen. read more

The appetizers were very good. I had the octopus which really reminded me of Greece. My wife had the burrata which was fantastic. For entrees I had the grouper special. It was served over ravioli and they were very good. Unfortunately the grouper was tough and dry. My wife had the baked gnocchi. I think the gnocchi was good but it was muddled with ground beef and overpowered by the sauce. In hindsight I think it would have been better to order with the blush sauce. Our server was awesome but the food was super slow to come out. I think we may have messed up trying this restaurant in February. I'm not sure we will be back but sort of assume it would have been better in season. read more

I went to this restaurant with very high expectations. I will say first that the atmosphere is lovely and inviting. The owner/manager seemed to keep after his wait staff- and the staff were literally running all over the place. They seemed to have enough servers, but the service was just okay. We had to fend for ourselves for many things. We were very impressed by the delicious bread and most delicious olive oil that was placed on the table. Unfortunately it went downhill after that regarding the food. We ordered a Santorini salad, Chicken Parm with spaghetti, and a Penne Vodka dish with some chicken pieces in it. The salad was so very salty and small and not good at all. The spaghetti was bitter and there was also only a tiny portion of it. The Chicken Parm was plentiful and somewhat tasty but not great. The Penne Vodka was probably the most disappointing as there was really no vodka sauce on it to speak of. It was tasteless. The cubes of chicken on it were also dry. It didn't even taste like Penne Vodka at all. In addition, the prices are very high for the quality of the food. The restaurant has a lot of potential- and maybe with a new Chef they would be very successful. However, as it is now, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I really do hope they improve the menu. I was excited to go to a new restaurant in the area. I was also hoping for more Greek food, but it seemed like more Italian than Greek. Again, lovely atmosphere, good intentions- but bad food. It is a BYOB right now- but they have a bar built there, so maybe they are waiting for a liquor license? The food was good but service was below par. The wait staff was undertrained and was not knowledgeable about food customer service skills. After poor service overall and additionally serving coffee and an after dinner drink without utensils and coffee accompaniments which couldn't be consumed without. We asked for it to be removed and the server took the check back then returned it without removing the charges and told us they couldn't be removed. First impression - WOW! We have been wanting to try since it opened and went with friends last night. The place was previously a bar restaurant and has been beautifully and carefully renovated in a beachy Mediterranean style. Attention to detail is evident in the white table cloths, blue cloth napkins, lighting, window treatments, table and glassware etc., - a light and breezy feel! The service was amazing - our server was attentive, awesome and well versed on the Mediterranean menu. We started with two appetizers - spanakopita and watermelon/feta - both delicious. Our four entrees were chicken parmigiana, crab gnocchi, chicken Santorini and Veal Santorini. Each entree was well presented with perfect portion sizes. Our plates were clean and the food was incredibly delicious and fresh! We were going to skip dessert but when we heard the choices - we couldn't resist - creme brûlée cheesecake, salted caramel cheesecake, double chocolate cake and limoncello swirl. My girlfriends and I visited Santorini while on a vacation because of the good reviews and versatile menu. Parking was a bit odd, but ample. We made a reservation and were sat immediately. Our server, Sasha, was absolutely lovely and accommodating. We enjoyed the fried burrata and artichokes before dinner, along with the yummy complimentary bread. For entrees, we had the salmon, chicken parmigiana, scallops risotto, and sacchetti santorini. The only issue we encountered was the salmon coming out very underdone. We sent it back to be cooked more and it came back out still undercooked. Overall, an amazing experience as long as you avoid the "medium rare" (raw) salmon. Everything else was lovely. read more
