Super impressed! What a great setup. I was a little concerned at first because the menu doesn't seem to have a 2 meat combo meal. They had platter meals with 1 meat and 2 sides. I asked if they could accommodate just a few ribs and brisket into a platter and they seemed to be perfectly okay with it. Although I'm not entirely sure what I paid for. I think it kind of all worked out? 1/2 Rack platter goes for $20.95 and that includes 2 sides and cornbread. I asked for some Brisket and they put it in there but I doubt I got the portion that the Brisket Platter has. The Brisket Platter is $21.95. I got an extra side of Rice and a Drink and a Pecan Square. I paid about $44 ... So I guess that kinda makes sense but still ... bit on the pricey side if you ask me. Good thing the Food was WORTH IT! Ribs were looking INSANE! Almost as thick as Beef Ribs, Awesome Rub and Glaze on the top, bit of a beautiful smoke ring, Dry rub rib with a bit of a drizzled BBQ cooked on, Pre-cut, smelled incredible. First bite got a "Wow" the natural flavor and juices of the pork were still there, actually the flavor of the meat was more powerful than the rub. The Rub flavor was amazing too, not salty at all, leaning a bit more on the sweet side if anything, but for the most part it's a nice savory smokey pork taste. Meat doesn't fall off the bone (which is a good thing) but it comes off real easy with the bite. Brisket has a Super black bark to it, perfect little amount of fat on top, maybe an inch of meat. Fat melts almost instantly like hot butter in the mouth. The Beef flavor is juicy and natural and unlike a lot of other briskets that are loaded with smokey flavor. The Fat itself had a TON of flavor in it though and it melted over the meat in the mouth like BBQ heaven. I've had a lot of Brisket and I can easily say that there is a "perfect" Brisket out there (probably Frank's) And I think Sarcastic Swine's Brisket gets real close to it, the only thing they might lack is a bit more flavor in the rub and more smokey flavor in the meat. But the texture is the hardest thing to achieve and I think they Nail it here! Mac and Cheese was Cavatappi pasta (Macaroni if it looked like a spring). Cooked well and with a simple cheese sauce. At first look I was disappointed because it was obviously just a cheese sauce and I'm always hoping for baked style. But the sauce was gritty and delicious so I know it was authentic and not some gross factory cheese goop or something. Blind taste test I would have said it was baked. Beans looked Awesome. Not a bunch of "runny" liquid sauce, more that muddy gravy look! Maybe a 3 bean recipe I saw Red, Pinto, and maybe White? Bits and pieces of bell pepper, onion, some pork. Flavor wasn't crazy powerful but it really complimented the natural taste of the Beans. Cooked perfectly so the beans stay firm until they easily break apart in the mouth. This is a baked bean recipe for Bean fans. A lot of places do a BBQ sauce bean (Cowboy Beans) or they through in some fruits or powerful spices and they're all really good but it kills the natural taste of just the bean. This place doesn't do that which is great in my opinion. Redneck Rice was pretty much a regular seasoned yellow rice with some corn, black beans, diced bell peppers, onion, nothing crazy. Taste didn't really remind me of all the other yellow rice recipes I've tried but it kind of made me feel like there was a cheese element to it. Not that there was cheese in it but the texture of the little bit of "mooshiness" around the rice kind of felt like it was a cheese sauce. Cornbread was magical. Even more so because out of the 100+ places I've been to, this is the first time I have ever been given an option of What Kind of Butter! Bacon Butter, Cinnamon Butter, or Whipped Butter! And I was like "ALL THREE!" jk ... but I should have. Went with Cinnamon. Cornbread to go was in a wax paper wrapping and it unfortunately took the top of the bread off with the paper. But it was moist and cool and a hint of sweetness, bit of a grit, kind of reminded me of a store bought mix but I still enjoyed it. Put the butter on it and then all the sudden it becomes the greatest thing on the planet. Pecan square I was told was "Amazing" and I gotta say .. might be a stretch. Looked delicious, but if it was warmed up I think it would be incredible. The coolness of it I think was killing the flavor, I just think it needs to be warm. But it was definitely good. Okay, their sauces are crazy. They have 11! Homemade Unique Sauces. Honey, Hickory, Hot Like Your Mama, Bama, Chuck, Golden, Cherry Bomb, Carolina, Jabba Dew Pickles, Q (AKA The Cure), and Kokua. Hickory, great flavor but for some reason the texture was like a cocktail sauce. Golden sauce was kinda green with all kinds of herbs and spices, lot of dill, lot of sweet. I am nearing the end of my staycation & wanted to feed the carnivore inside. My wife suggested Sarcastic Swine a while back; others I know had also recommended it - so, today was the day. Not disappointed. We arrived early afternoon - the place was busy, but not overly so, especially given the nice weather we are having on this Saturday. The staff took our (my wife went along for the ride) order in about 5 minutes. Note - plenty of parking in the back (thanks for putting that on your FB page & website). The wait for food was only about 10 minutes. Quite reasonable. And they asked what types of sauce we wanted - ended up with the honey and Carolina varieties - my wife's choices. Then we headed home with our bounty. Meat - Let's start with the full slab of ribs: Good flavor. Meat falls off the bone nicely. A solid four out of 5. The mustard sauce was a nice addition to these ribs. Next up, the brisket - not sure yet - I'll likely have to go back for more for further testing/sampling(!). There was a fair amount of fat on this brisket, but it melted in my mouth. Usually, the briskets I've had in other places were more lean - hence my need to try more, so I'll hold off on a score till later. Finally, the burnt ends - a very strong 4, bordering on a 5. Great flavor - the smoke is most strong with the burnt ends. Less fat, too. We ordered two sides: the smoked mashed potatoes and the cole slaw. Eh. Just a 3. I expected more flavor with the mashed potatoes - they were rather bland. The slaw was a mayo style - I tend to like the vinegar-based slaws more. I'd likely pass on both of these in the future - but, I'll definitely try other sides in the future. And I do plan on returning, because it is the meat that counts and given that I live in the greater Boston area, this is pretty good! Just to let folks know - my favorite city for BBQ is St. Louis, but I've also had BBQ in Memphis, Oklahoma, and other locals, which are closer to the source - Boston, alas, is not the best choice in the U.S. for this cuisine. A co-worker recommended this place to me and the food did not disappoint! Ordering online was super easy on their website. We had a group of 7 people and deduced to order the Meurch platter, which was more than enough food. All the meat came naked (no sauce) and you can choose your sauce when you pick up your order. The Pulled Brisket was everyone's favorite, tender and juicy. The pulled pork was great when dipped in the bbq sauce. Ribs were meaty and fall off the bone. As for the sides, the honey cornbread was AMAZING, soft, sweet and delicious, especially with the cinnamon butter! We also got the tots, Mac and cheese, hush puppies, and an extra side of mashed potatoes. The hush puppies were good, a little dense, but since they were soaked in the melted cinnamon butter in the container, it wasn't dry. The Mac and cheese was average, kind of reminded me of Velveeta. The tots were good too but got crushed in the box. The mashed potatoes were my least favorite, not such if it was because the potato skin was still in there or if it was the gravy. The Mac and Cow is a spectacular guy bomb of a 'wich which features gluttonous foodstuffs stacked between two slices of Texas toast. What, you ask? American cheese, mac and cheese, pulled brisket (lean but flavorful), and honey BBQ sauce. House made chips on the side. Ho boy, see also: "the Coma Basket." Kiddo menu is either grilled cheese, or... chicken fingers? A cheeseburger? One of the two. Point is, it's a beastly meal for a paltry $5. Bring your offspring and help them polish off the massive side of exquisite shoestring fries. Sauce boss: all styles represented, from Memphis white, to vinegar-based Carolina mop, to a fiery "We Can't Stop Now, This Is Bat Country" tongue-teaser. I'm guessing habanero and carrot blend, but whatever it is, it's the hottest of the bunch. I really like this place and look forward to eating my way through the meats and sides. I do take umbrage with cheap cuts in cheap suburbs charging Boston prices, but with the dearth of real smoke pit BBQ on the South Shore, I guess they can get away with it. I like this place. I'm glad it's soo close to my house. Not only is the food fantastic, but they do a lot to help and give back in the community. My husband and I have ordered several things from here and the portion sizes are HUGE(for 2 people). My favorites are the mac and cow sandwich, hush puppies, wings and cornbread. I also love that they have several different dipping sauces you can take home with you. The mac and cow sandwich is so rich and stuffed with meat & mac that I was full after one half! We had so many wings left over (huge portion size) that we threw them on the grill and had them for lunch the next day and they were still just as delicious as when we ordered them. New to town and saw this shop on a YouTube feature and decided to try it out. Spent $30 to get their sampler platter for one person. Came with brisket, smoked wings, pulled pork, pulled chicken, couple of ribs, corn bread, and two sides (I got beans and collard greens). I also got three sauces - hickory, carolina, and "the chuck". There was nothing bad on the plate, though my favorite by far was the sliced brisket. The pulled pork was the least flavorful but may have been great slathered in sauce on a bun as a sandwich. In the end, it was too much food for me (and I was on an empty stomach and ready to eat a lot). Prices weren't super cheap, but good proteins cost a lot of money, so I understand their pricing. In the hour I was there eating, there was a constant stream of customers (many of them picking up or ordering trays of food for catering events). After seeing this place raved upon on the 'Phantom Gourmet', we decided to drive up from Providence to check out their BBQ since we had yet to find any good BBQ since moving up to New England from down south. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Everything was nicely prepared, but the meats on the 'Sample Platter' for two had nothing worth writing home about. We also tried the Chili with Cornbread and while the chili itself was decent, the cornbread was dull and listless. On top of that, the 'sweet tea' we ordered was old as it had been made much earlier in the day and so we had to exchange that for regular soda. Went to this place because it was the nearest that had some gluten free options. Got the pulled pork platter with cowboy beans and slaw to go. The platter also included corn bread. The woman on the phone quoted 40 minutes which seemed like a long time but it was lunch time so oh well. The sides were large - looked like 1/4lb tubs. I enjoyed the beans. The slaw was okay, just not my style which is fine- I know slaw can taste a variety of ways so it's always a gamble. The beans were good. The cornbread was quite average. The package of it pulled the sweet top off the bread. The real disappointment was the portion of meat. The meat came in a large container with pickles and pickled onions all mixed together. TLTR: HAIRS IN FOOD. NO RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT AFTER COMPLAINT. A first takeout order missed one item but the BBQ was very good. Second takeout order was complete but I pulled a long human hair out of the brisket dish. I powered through not to want to ruin the entire dinner for all table guests but at the end of the meal I pulled another long hair out of my mouth from the buffalo wings . I emailed the company via their website to make management aware of the employees working that day to give them a chance to correct their hygiene practices and maybe send me an apology. I never received an answer so I assume they don't care. Now I will not come back here. This is the best BBQ I have had in a long time and is definitely my new go-to place! The meats and juicy and very flavorful as well as fall off the bone! They are so flavorful you honestly don't need any sauce dip into but there are so many yummy sauce choices you have to just try them! I really loved the sour cream based sauce and the honey bbq but they have some other really interesting ones that I would love to try my next time! YOU HAVE TO GET THE CORN BREAD! This corn bread is so soft, moist, and fluffy you could really eat it without butter but why would you when you could slather on their cinnamon butter.... I am so glad they give you so much because I use it on toast now! The hush puppies are really good and have a similar flavor to the cornbread but are much denser than the cornbread and come with the cinnamon butter already on them! The mac and cheese is even better than valveeta but that is the closest match to the flavor and thickness of the cheese sauce. Also all of the workers wear masks and they have two hand sanitizer stations inside for when you are waiting to pick up your food! Called for take out as we did not want to stand around waiting. The person on the phone took the order and said it would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived about 20 minutes later to encounter a crowd inside of people waiting. I approached the counter and gave my name stating I had called. It was then I noticed the girl at the counter put my name on the board as "here." The order had not even been started! I inquired why the order had not been prepared after my call and was told they wanted it to be hot when I got it. Then why did you tell me 20 minutes, I would have left my house immediately or I could have just ordered when I got there (defeats the purpose of ordering ahead). The food was just ok, nothing to rave about. Had the a brisket and a pulled pork platter. Meat really did not have a great bar b que flavor. Sauces were pretty nondescript. For sides we had hush puppies, cole slaw, collard greens and mashed potatoes. All pretty standard nothing outstanding. We had wanted the baked beans which were available when I called but all out when my order was finally prepared. Wow this is great BBQ. My sister and I went to the Marshfield Fair and they were there selling food. We got the brisket Rangoon's with duck sauce and they were phenomenal! So good we literally drove and hour the next day to come the actual restaurant! I got the pork platter and my sister got the phat boy bowl with pulled chicken and a side of hush puppies. The meat was so tasty and the Mac and cheese was the perfect side! The hush puppies were out of this world especially with the whipped honey cinnamon butter. The corn bread was also so moist and delicious and came with cinnamon butter or a whipped bacon butter ( we got both!) They had homemade sweet tea which honestly had a different taste..maybe honey? This is an unassuming barbecue joint that punches far above its weight. In fact, it was so unassuming that I sped right by it as I drove down Route 18 in Abington. Slow down and pay attention, or you might miss out on some delicious barbecue. They claim to have the best barbecue on the South Shore, and while I can't vouch for that (haven't been to every place yet), in my opinion, this is definitely legit. I placed a takeout order over the phone and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Sarcastic Swine serves what they call "naked meats," so nothing has sauce on it to begin with. They have a ton of different sauce choices and you can pick what you want to have on the side. I really appreciated this, as I'm not a fan of pre-sauced barbecue. I'd rather make my own choices. Bravo, Sarcastic Swine. I ordered a two meat combo plate with brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw, beans (which they call "cowboy beans"), and the order came with cornbread. When I picked it up, I opted to get some of the hickory barbecue sauce on the side to try. The takeout process was smooth and easy, and the folks in the kitchen were really working hard getting orders together. Take out in hand, I grabbed a fork and dug in. I started with the cornbread, which was an enormous piece that was extremely tasty. The bread was sweet and spongy in texture, with a great flavor. It was so good that I was literally licking the crumbs off the paper it came wrapped in. I tried the coleslaw next. It was dressed lightly in a thin dressing (I hate overdressed coleslaw, so more kudos to Sarcastic Swine.) The flavor was definitely more savory than sweet, and it had a touch of heat that came through after each bite which was a really nice little surprise. Very tasty. Coleslaw devoured, I moved on the beans. When I opened the container, I was pleased to see a heaping portion that contained several different kinds of beans and a ton of bacon mixed in. These beans were a meal on their own! The flavor was so good - very savory, not sweet or tangy, and the large amount of bacon mixed in provided a meatiness that was extremely satisfying. The sauce was thick and hearty and really clung to the beans. After polishing off the sides, I moved on to the main event: the meat. The portion of pulled pork and brisket was ample, and the meats were served on top of soft, white bread that soaked up the fat and delicious juices. I tried the pulled pork first and I was extremely impressed. The meat was moist and tender, with a good amount of fat and lots of bark mixed in with the meat. It was so tender that the pieces were falling off my fork! The flavor was on point - smoky and rich. I did try a little bit of hickory sauce on the pork, and it was sweet and tangy - very tasty, but also completely unnecessary due to the quality of the meat. I tried the brisket next and was floored by how good it was. The brisket came in thick slices and it was juicy and delicious. Like the pork, the meat had a good amount of fat and some bark on it, as well. It had a saltiness to it that was addictive. The depth of flavor was outstanding and the meat was so tender that I didn't need the plastic knife I had on hand (it was a cheap one, so it wouldn't have worked well anyway.) After I devoured the meat, I tried a bite of the white bread, which was a delicious treat to end the meal. It had soaked up so much delicious meat juice. Definitely a very nice touch. In all, I was extremely impressed by Sarcastic Swine. The food was exceptional, and I could see that they took real care with everything, the meats, the sides, and even the cornbread. This is barbecue that stands up to any I've had in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Try it (and come hungry, the portions are huge) - you won't be disappointed. read more

Service is always good, and the ambiance is easygoing and lacks nothing except maybe some quieter chairs. The biggest problem I have is surprisingly the food. The flavors are on point almost every time, but every time I've gone the food is cold. I mean from the fridge and I into the microwave for 15 seconds cold. If your food is hot consider yourself lucky. I still go because the flavors are awesome but if they could maybe put the Mac and cheese in the microwave for 30 seconds it might make it better. read more

I ordered take out from this restaurant. The staff was nice, it has the typical kind of BBQ aesthetic and vibes, but the food was great. I made my own platter got the Mac and cheese burnt ends and collard greens with corned bread and honey butter. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING was bad on that plate. If you've had a lot of bbq from the south( which I have had alot of.) it's not down south good but it is the best bbq I have had in mass since moving here. Living south of Boston, the BBQ choices are slim pickins. Yelp reccomended "the Swine" and it wasn't too much of a drive from my house, so we decided to give it a try. Called ahead..put on hold for 5 minutes, which isn't a great start. Anyway, we ordered the sampler (4 meats, 2 sides, cornbread and cinnamon honey butter). We also ordered an extra side of Collards. When we arrived, there was only a two-top in the seating area and no one waiting to pick up so we were confused why it would be 20-30 minutes from calling to pick up. Odd but moving on...Our bag o food comes with as many bbq sauces as we'd like (and they have about 8 to choose from!). Now on to the food review... Meats: all 4 great flavor, good smoke (note meat is sauceless, add what you like). Sauces: Carolina-very vinagary just OK, Hickory- Standard BBQ Sauce, good flavor but nothing to write to mom about, Chuck-Creamy lightly tangy and unique..this one is a keeper Sides: All of them are overly salty IMHO. Mac/Chz-good smoke flavor but the sauce was broken and the whole thing was cold. Collards-good flavors, a little spicy, didn't pick out the big ribs so not great. So I was really excited to try this place, I've heard nothing but great things! My friends and I ordered take out. I did not pick up the food, but from the person who did pick it up, it wasn't good. When I received my food, I was so excited to dig in. I got the Brisket Platter, with collard greens, homemade Mac, and the corn bread. I did ask for pulled but it came sliced. Not a big deal. I started to dig in and there was just a piece of white sliced bread underneath with pickles, confused but ok. The brisket was tasty and good, as well as the greens. The "homemade" Mac tasted bland. The best part I thought was the cornbread. Very moist and great! One of my other friends ordered tater tots with their meals, and it felt like they were frozen still, as well as the chicken. The food was sub par. This was an hour before they closed so I expected good quality still but it wasn't. I want to try it again when they first open to get that first bite of freshness! Wow, real good BBQ in the northeast! Brisket was great, ribs a close second. Slaw had a nice little kick to it. Ate so fast I forgot I had beans too! Kids loved the Mac and cheese and grilled cheese. BUT the cornbread was the star of the show. The platter with two meats was the perfect amount of food but crushing two cornbreads on top was... the right thing to do at the time. AND damn that was a legit raspberry lime Rickey. Everyone was friendly and made us feel at home. Ate outside, but inside looks great for next time...and there will be a next time. read more

First, the food is extremely expensive and you don't get what you pay for. My husband is from Alabama and my family is from the south as well; as two people that know BBQ, Sarcastic Swine is mediocre at best. That being said, the hush puppies are good...too bad when you get them in a carryout order the staff cares so little that the container is put in sideways and the glaze leaks out and covers any other containers in your bag. My husband and I ordered from here twice. Both times the meat was sub-par, the glaze leaked out of the container the hush puppies were in and I felt sick hours after eating....and we were out almost $50. Iv given this place a few try's throughout the years and the only consistency they've had is their underwhelming, overpriced BBQ. The homemade sides taste like they're being served out of an elementary schools home economics class. I really want them to succeed but FIGURE IT OUT!!! read more

This place is ok. A little too salty for me but many people I've spoken to really like it. Service is excellent.

Love Love, this food, burnt ribs, cornbread, and loaded smashed potatoes were scrumptious! I highly recommend! Sorry I didn't take a picture, I was too involved in eating, maybe next time if I can refrain from eating it right away. I have eaten at other barbecue places but their sides weren't as good as the SarcasticSwine. This place has it all, am definitely a fan! read more
