I went shopping with the family and the wife got Chik Filet for the kiddo. We decided on Sarku. We got The Teriyaki Chicken and Teriyaki Beef and Shrimp. You have your choice if steamed white rice, fried rice, or steamed vegetables. All very tasty. Don't get suckered by the cook at the end asking for an a dollar for a scoop of extra Teriyaki sauce, it comes for free. Will eat here again when we are the mall. read more

One word sums up this location: disappointing. This used to be a great spot a couple of years ago but their customer service is terrible, their prices are unreasonable, and the food is hit or miss. The inconsistency of their food brings down the review from 3 stars to 2 stars. The sad thing is are the lines are still so long because they're the only game in the mall with this type of offering. I'd suggest many of the other restaurants right outside the Parks Mall than Sarku any day. read more

This used to be my favorite place to come, service was good, food was great and price was reasonable. Although the price is still somewhat reasonable,, the quality of the food has gone down to a bland chicken and vegetable dish and the service is atrocious. Tried using their online order app, and was totally defeated after 30 minutes of attempting to order, even the employees in the store couldn't help with the app. When will I come here again? That's a good question! Maybe... The food is still cheap and somewhat good for you, can't say that about the rest of the food in the mall. read more

Sarku Japan, while I love that tangy sauce that coats the teriyaki chicken of yours and reminisce on the days of chicken samples from a large pile being handed out to everyone who passed by. Since I last tried Sarku Japan, the experience has only gotten more and more dissappointing. They used to have noodles as an option but now they've gotten rid of them. What motivated me to write this review though was the fact that I found a HAIR in my food and that their portions are getting increasingly small and disproportional to their large prices. Boxes are mostly full of white rice and thawed frozen vegetables with no flavor. Chicken pieces sometimes are so tiny, it's just not enough to fill you up unless you order *more* chicken but then that's $12 right there. The food court is what you expect from any other mall food court, it can get crowded on certain weekends like Spring Break. I recently went again today and it was just the perfect amount of chicken to rice ratio. Overall, decent place to eat but don't come if you're expecting top notch food! read more

The chicken teriyaki is to die for. We always get chicken teriyaki with soba noodles and EXTRA chicken, no veggies. They have a punch card that they punch each time we are there. Eventually, we will earn a whole teriyaki meal. The downside is.. we never get to come because the mall is literally always so packed. It's a nightmare to get to. I wish they would open a stand-alone shop somewhere in Arlington. I'd go all. the. time. If I'm in the mall and not even hungry, you bet I still make my way around to getting a free sample. It's that good! The price is also justified for how much you get. My husband and I pay about $10 for our usual order... and we can split it without a problem. We have an A-List membership at the AMC theater at the mall so we are there 2 or 3 nights a week and we eat at Sarku Japan at least one of those nights almost every week!! I absolutely love this place. I know its just mall food but the teriyaki chicken is absolutely the best. Their sauce that they add on top of the chicken is just perfect and not sweet which is really great for teriyaki. The food is cooked while you wait and right in front of you so you know it is fresh but the wait can sometimes be long. Just be patient it will be worth it! If they would franchise and be open to non mall locations I would apply for a franchise that's how much I love their food and believe in this concept. read more

The lady in front of me had the same exact order, but for whatever reason once the server looked at me, he gave me less...which translated to I am less. Got the chicken teriyaki plate... really wish I hadn't wasted $7 on this garbage. They cook the food in front of you which is fine and dandy but the problem I had was multiple health issues I noticed. The grill top is pretty gross like it's not cleaned daily, they cook the raw meat next to the cooked meat which with chicken is just unsanitary. The cook also coughed in his hands multiple times and didn't wash them, just went right back to cooking. Sometimes I go to the mall just to eat this place... This has been my favorite food since I was little. And it's amazing how the quality still hadn't changed! It's honestly the best bang for you buck! The main dish, chicken teriyaki, is less than six bucks and you definitely get your money's worth in portion. They literally make the food right in front of you, so you know it's fresh!! Not only that, but you can definitely taste it too. I'm sure teriyaki sauce isn't too healthy for you, but the chicken and veggies definitely are! What I also like about it is that it's not heavy, like most Asian food. Where to begin? This location is playing roulette with your lives. I work in the food safety industry and was disgusted by some of the health violations I noticed while sitting in the food court. First of all, they have this slime that they cook which some how magically becomes chicken. This slime chicken (raw) is placed next to the cooked chicken on the grill....this would be fine if they didn't use the same spatulas for both the cooked and raw meat. This place scores 4 stars because it's light (compared to what's around in the food court as dining options), fresh (they grill it up right in front of you at the counter), tasty, fast and cheap. They make teriyaki dishes (chicken, beef, seafood or combos of any two of the aforementioned) that come standard with grilled veggies and rice from $3.99-$6.19 (the beef and seafood combo is the most expensive). They have egg rolls, which are okay and definitely not light or healthy. It's sort of odd, they have a buy one get one free policy for their $.89 egg rolls (called maki rolls) but I only see this as fair as the rolls are quite tiny and I'd be a bit miffed if I had to pay that for only one of them. Perhaps that is why they are buy one get one free. I definitely dug the fact that they were one of the few places that sold bottled water. read more

Kinda sorta Japanese food cooked on a flat top. If you consider chicken, rice or noodles cooked with soy Japanese food. Compared to the other food in the food court it is good. Let me just say this is the best place to eat chicken teriyaki with noodles!! It comes with steam veggies, the soba noodles and the chicken of course. Takes about 5-10 minutes depending on how busy it is! I always ask for extra teriyaki sauce at the end! They also have stamp cards if you're a frequent customer (which I am). If you go during lunch time it is usually about 30-60 cents cheaper than dinner and weekends are usually dinner prices the whole time. If you're hesitant to try it there is always someone who is handing out samples so try it! I promise you won't be disappointed! He offers even if you're already standing in line! You can also choose to order with fried rice or white rice and other meat choices include beef and shrimp. They also have egg rolls (I believe it is steamed veggies inside).
