Visited this restaurant in Fox Hills / Westfield Mall after a work meeting in Culver City on Monday 5/18/26. What was enticing was if you downloaded the app you get $5 off your order. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki deal that came with a soda and 2 vegetable spring rolls. Total cost was just under $9.00. It's easier to take a picture of the QR code at the restaurant instead of trying to find the app in your play store. Creating the personal account will have you choosing to pay full price!! Finally, i was able to order online. I requested lemonade at the register for my order, however, you're only allowed soda or bottled water. The order was ready in about 10 minutes. The give 2 little packets of sriracha chili sauce and one packet of sweet and sour sauce. Presentation was delectable! The flavor was good. Not overly sweet, just right. The rice for a fast food mall restaurant was great. And, the chicken was good. Veggies were included, that's always good. Overall it really was delicious and a generous portion of food,however, it was ordinary, like any other teriyaki chicken spot. Since the restaurant is in a food court, seating is generous. Four stars given because the app was difficult to create an account. And to delete the app from my phone was even more challenging! I probably wouldn't go back only because of the distance and I can get the same at a competitor. read more

Freshly made bento box for under $15, prepared right in front of you. The wait was about 15 minutes, and everything came out hot and fresh. Portions were satisfying, and I'd definitely eat here again. A nice touch was that condiments and extra napkins were provided without having to ask. read more

The foot here is always hot and fresh! My friend and I ordered a buy one chicken teriyaki get one for $5! I also got half rice and noodles and it was delicious. Service is very quick! It's inside thermal food court which is convenient and quick. read more

Not too sure why it's only coming in at 2.3 stars, as even though this is the first time I'm doing a review, I have eaten here at least 10 times before this. Went ahead and ordered the chicken teriyaki with extra chicken for a few more bucks. And while a few times in the past they seem to have been a little light handed with the chicken, this time it was all there. If you're really trying to do this a little more healthy, skip the rice and tell them all you want is the chicken teriyaki and the veggies. Most of the time the guys cooking are way way way too busy to even remotely chop it up, so you know going in this isn't going to be something where you're going to have any real quality human interaction. What's important here is to be absolutely clear with the guys ( amidst the natural chaos and Mall background noise to say nothing of babies crying, etc) to make sure your order comes out correct. A few times prior to this experience they gave me beef instead of chicken and vice versa. Suffice to say, I ate everything both times despite the fact that the order was off . Hey, it's fast food from a mall food court. It's the service terrible? Yes, do you feel kind of like an inconvenience to them? Yes. Is the food worth it? Also yes. It's 4 stars for what it is. It is fairly quick, the food is always hot and filling. I love the thick noodles covered in the teriyaki sauce. I would recommend adding at least half noodles. The potsticker filling was moist and well seasoned but the outer layer was soggy, I would pass on those. Overall, I think it's good for a food court. read more

I'm not sure why this place is always so busy. I live in the area and come to the mall a lot. Finally caved in and tried a bento box. That was my first mistake! They give you less meat than if you were to get plate! Doesn't matter though. The noodles were over done, the beef consistency made me nauseous, and the California roll was the saddest roll I've ever eaten in my life. There are so many other places there. Sarku Japan is one of my favorite places to eat at! The food is always fresh. I usually order the teriyaki bowl with no vegetables along with another teriyaki bowl with vegetables and noodles instead of rice. The staff is always so friendly and move very quick. Since it is located inside the Westfield Mall, it tends have a line forming, but it moves pretty quick. It is usually a 5-10 minute wait when it's packed and about a 5 minute wait when there's no line. It is located in the food court area of the mall. The quality has decreased over the years. They changed up the veggies to be more coarse and chunky vs how finely sliced they were previously. In order to receive a decent amount of protein, you have to pay another $2.00 for extra meat. I've got to say, I'm disappointed. read more

Very very sub par sushi! I've went twice, a week apart because I wanted the dancing eel roll, both times they DID NOT HAVE IT! Okay, so take it off your menu! The chunky guy who makes the sushi is just ANNOYING! I won't even go into detail but just save your sushi yummy and go to an actual place! They charge 50 cent EACH for eel sauce and spicy mayo. I really like the teriyaki chicken at all the Sarku Japan locations. I gave this place 3 stars because the customer service is very poor. The guy at the register is kind of rude to customers asking for simple things like extra soy sauce, hot sauce, etc. They have a policy for charging for these extras, which I have not see at the other Sarku Japan locations. My husband and I ordered both the chicken and beef teriyaki meals. This was our first time trying the food at Sarku Japan. I'm confused over the flavor of the teriyaki sauce. My chicken did not taste like teriyaki and my husband said his beef teriyaki didn't taste like teriyaki either. I think the sauce added in the food containers was more of a traditional asian bbq sauce rather than a typical teriyaki sauce. The food wasn't bad but it was not what we were expecting, which was a sweeter teriyaki flavor. The side dish of steamed vegetables - I did think the addition of a vinegar sauce of some type mixed into the vegetables on the side threw off my taste buds. I was expecting simple steamed cabbage and other vegetables. I don't see the need to add vinegar. I did find a large four inch strip of the cabbage stem at the bottom of the vegetables and that was unpleasant to see. I doubt we'll be ordering from Sarku Japan again. I don't like surprises when ordering food and if you are selling food using teriyaki sauce, the meat should taste like traditional teriyaki sauce. read more

I paid for steak, shrimp, and chicken plate (15.99) and the chicken plate (9.59)plus extra chicken(2.09). I get home and find out I didn't get the extra chicken and instead of getting the 3 meats I paid for I was only given steak and shrimp. The reason why I'm submitting this review is because the service is poor. I'm left confused and uninformed about an online app order I placed 35min before coming in . I came in for a pick up and no one can find my order, I believe they mistakenly gave my order away but never told me. I had the platter (Don't recall the name) but it featured chicken and rice, four pieces of sushi and three dumplings. Honestly, I'd have been better off at Panda Express. There sushi was poorly rolled and different sizes. I'm not sure what was in the dumplings but it wasn't good. Also, the three stars are for their food prep services, this is a small kiosk in the middle of the mall so space is limited. I had been craving sushi alllllll week. So after hours of shopping, I lit up when I saw a sushi sign in the food court of the mall. The cheapskate in me jumped at the opportunity to order the large tray with a variety of sushi assortments for only $19.99 (see photo). But the quality of the sushi itself was poor. The sushi was room temperature and had a strange, rubbery & generic taste. I tried so hard to finish the tray (with help from hubby) and appease my week-long sushi craving, but I just couldn't do it. I ended up getting through the dragon rolls but I just fed the sashimi to my dog... It was incredibly flavorless. To be fair though, I probably shouldn't have expected quality sushi from the food court in mall.
