This is truly a wok on Fire!! I had my food delivered and my food was still hot when I received it!!! I really enjoyed my shrimp lo mien noodles and California rolls. Although the California rolls are very small, they were fresh and delicious. The portion is large for the price of the lo mien. FANTASTIC CHINESE TAKE-OUT If someone hadn't raved about this Chinese restaurant on NextDoor, I never would have ventured into this hole-in-the-wall. This tiny dive is in a small ratty strip mall on La Cienega just south of Alcott. It's not an inviting place to dine, hence the four stars, but it's perfect for take-out. I ordered Mongolian Beef for $14.99. Since it doesn't come with rice, I opted for the steamed white rice for $2. It was ready in about five minutes. The beef was plentiful, so much so that I easily had two huge meals of it. Wow, was it delicious! That sauce is addictive. The rice was just right too. Now, I'm hooked. Can't beat their lunch specials ($10.99 for Mongolian Beef with rice, salad and egg roll). I'll definitely be back! This place is on fire! read more

My first and last time ordering from Wok on Fire. I ordered Aromatic Shrimp, which I thought would be spicy, it was too sweet and not spicy. I also ordered the Spicy Garlic Shrimp and requested extra spicy, not spicy at all. The sauce they use for the Spicy Garlic Shrimp is not Oyster Sauce, but some flavorless brown sauce. The complimentary salad is a box of lettuce with very little dressing (trash). The vegetables in the complimentary egg roll were mushy, way overcooked. Never again! read more

This is my favorite Chinese place, I'm from NYC and it's hard to find any Chinese place that compares to my favorites from Nyc. I'm very lucky to have found this place. All of their dishes have been excellent, I usually get chicken fried rice or chicken lo mein, they also have crab Rangoon, and do it well. Their orange chicken and beef dishes are also excellent. The prices are OK around $15-$24 per dishes since Covid. They have had no inside dining, so this place is takeout only. read more

I am honestly super impressed with the quality of the take out I received. The sesame chicken was tender and flavorful, the beef and broccoli was generous with beef (not overfilled with broccoli), the asparagus bits were crunchy and super flavorful, and the combination lo mein was also generous with beef and chicken (though maybe a little skimpy on shrimp but it was also nicely cooked). This place is my go to for Chinese food! I have eaten at this place too many times to keep count but I always go back because of how yummy the food is. The Thai Tea is also one of my favorites. They have an awesome lunch deal which to me is great with everything being so expensive now and days. The owners and servers are so kind and the man who does the delivery if you order take out goes above and beyond to find your home. The place is a small and has reduced seating but every time I have gone to eat in person I have been able to get a table. This place is great and when my father had cancer their food was the only thing he could keep down and crave, so they will forever have a special place in my heart. The chicken was so tender both the orange chicken and the chicken in the fried rice. The rice was so nicely flavored with a smoky wok aroma I am used to for authentic Chinese food experience. You could even smell the cooked egg. So good. The orange chicken has a bit of crispiness to it and so nicely drenched in a very slightly sweet and spicy orange sauce. It's like taking a bite into a hint of crispiness and then sopping your palate with the sweet spicy sauce. It was a great one bite wonder. Could almost be in Amuse-bouche! The service is very good and when they say ready in ten, it's ready. So good I went back a second time in the same day . The Thai tea is excellent and not expensive. We have driven by this location dozens of times, and, finally stopped in yesterday since we had a craving for chinese food. Upon arrival, we noticed that they only offer take-out / pick-up service only. No problem since we live less than 2 miles away. Besides chinese food, they also offer some Japanese, Thai, and Mongolian items. We ended up ordering Crispy Orange Tofu, and, Pad Thai. The portion size of each dish was very generous. I had a Chinese food hankering so ordered from Wok on Fire for delivery. I started with the Crab Rangoon for $10 and regrettably have to report it was wack. It was so thin with barely any filling. But more worrisome than that was the thick coating (maybe flour?) on the outside. It flaked off everywhere and was like I was eating a beignet covered in powdered sugar. Super strange and not good at all. The sparse filling had a good taste but I would definitely not recommend this appetizer at all. Did I just have a very off batch!? My main was way better - the Ying Yang Chicken for $16.99. Half was sweet and sour & half was orange chicken. Loved having a nice little combination of two sauces to try more dishes. It was a bit pricey at $17, plus $2 for rice so just under $20 for the dish. Could have been a bit more crisp but I enjoyed the flavor of both sauces. Wok on Fire was fine but I wouldn't order from here again with so many other amazing places in the city! The crab rangoon was just a strange experience. read more

I every time I come here I get the Singapore noodles, the orange chicken and the chicken fried barbecue rice on the Singapore noodles I get with the chicken and the shrimp and I'm telling you it is delicious. First and foremost, I have never been inside the establishment so I cannot speak on the ambiance or the service. However I have ordered from this place over 6-7 times in the last year and it has almost never failed to impress me, so lets get right to it. Tokyo Fried Rice (5/5) : Fried rice with crabmeat and vegetables. Every bite of this dish makes me appreciate being able to taste. They aren't stingy with their crab meat and it is a rather hefty portion. I attached a pic of it below, but I couldn't help but dig in before I took the picture. Definitely my favorite dish of theirs. Ying Yang Chicken (4.5/5): A dish combining orange chicken with sweet and sour chicken. This was the first dish I'd ever tried here. I was craving orange chicken and wanted something that was similar to the stuff I'd had from Mom & Pop chinese stores back in Baltimore. The first bite I had brought back so many memories. A lot of places in LA don't make orange chicken the way that I'm used to but Wok on Fire became my favorite chinese spot with that bite. The flavor is just bomb and the tenderness of the chicken, I simply can't get enough. The sweet and sour chicken was really good texture wise but the orange chicken was infinitely better. Crispy Smoked Shrimp (3/5): Flavor was ok but I didnt realize how strong it would smell being smoked. Not my favorite order but being as my experience with this restaurant has been exceptional otherwise I'll keep it at 5 stars and as a must try. read more

I immediately spit it out but apparently the damage had already been done because I later had severe food poisoning and ended up in the ER from being severely dehydrated. Ordered sesame chicken and orange chicken (via Uber eats) and on both, the chicken was so tough and chewy that it was inedible. I would chew and chew and chew and the meat just keep fighting back.
