Saturday evening arrival around 6p, which was perfect for open seating both inside and out. First come first serve, seat yourself. Found an open table outside tucked within the courtyard completely out of the way of the walking path. I landed on a chilled wine for today's event, a Chenin Blanc "Pine Ridge". Paired well with my food selections. Started with bruschetta and moved to a Brie BLT, extra bacon (get the extra bacon!). The Brie BLT was very delicious! The creaminess of the cheese and crispy Bacon complimented by the dijon mustard to break the richness. Tots... wow! These were pillows of mashed potato with crispy coating. Hung out for an easy 4 hours...and about 4 glasses of wine. The music was a mix of old skool hip hop and 70s RnB. I enjoyed that the music wasn't blasting, just loud enough to fill any moments of silence. A great time overall. read more

Our waitress and slow and rude. And then the manager came out and gave us a lecture on how we couldn't move tables on the patio even though the waitress moved them for us. We had other people join us, they all ordered at the bar and just sat with us. It's not like we were making a ruckus. We also asked to open the umbrella on a sunny day and the waitress walked away instead of opening it. I ordered an espresso martini and it's not as good as everyone makes it to be and not worth the price. Only two of us ordered food as well so we weren't a high demand table either. It was just a strange experience and we wanted to leave as soon as the manager approached us cause that was just so awkward. Upon entry the staff was extremely distant...preoccupied with whatever was needing their attention is the back room area took precedent over our arrival. I literally had to walk back & ask for service once seated. I didn't like that. It was drab, uncomfortable & dry. Although we were the only 2 guests for at least 40 min until others gathered in for after work drinks would've been nice to feel welcomed. Annabella is a pleasant red blend. Hummus was bland & pita luke warm. Vegetable soup & vegetable salad; both decent. Great Shaw Neighborhood location to meet up for a drink. Outdoor patio on warm weather days. My partner came home from a work lunch last week. I was the recipient of the brisket sandwich and the mushroom Brie soup. The 8 person reservation was surprised to learn they each had to spend 50$.... For lunch. However that's how I ended up trying Sasha's food. If there is one word.. salty. Salty beef, salty au jus, salty soup. The mushroom Brie soup had more flavor than the sandwich but was also dominated by salt. My partner informed me everyone was jarred by the 50$ for lunch requirement. After hearing their experience and tasting the food I don't think this place will see us again. read more

The ambiance is wonderful. The food is pretty terrible. I ordered a Greek salad with salmon on top -- really hard to mess that up. For $30, I received an envelope sized plate of small dice tomatoes, red onions, and cucumber topped with an over cooked piece of cold fish. No detectable seasoning despite unremarkable Kalamata olives sprinkled around or the grocery store dolmas on the side. My friend got a crepe which was billed as cheese but ended up being mostly chutney, inelegantly cut apples, and a morsel or two of the cheese for which the dish is named. That plus a glass of wine ran us $80. The ambience is there and once the kitchen catches up, it will be great. For now, maybe just go for a drink. read more

I love this place, but went there for Mother's Day - was seated immediately and no big crowds was excited! Ordered a cpl of drinks, then 1 hour later they came to tell us they're slammed w a few big tables and sorry for the delay. 1 hour 45 min into it, no food "it'll be up soon" and just ordered 2 sandwiches and two salads. Didn't comp our bill, and never got served so we left. Walked down the street to Baileys Range and saw 2 other tables from Sasha's there as well. Never saw the manager never came out to say they were going to take care of us. So disappointing! read more

So glad we found this place. Less than 10 minutes drive from the arches and a short walk from the neighborhood Airbnb where we stayed. A true hidden gem. This wine bar is in a restored order home and was so cozy and comfortable on this cold November evening. A lovely fire going in the fire place really added to the ambiance. Great outdoor seating too for warmer weather. Excellent selection of wine, beer and spirits. Very good food and top notch service. Unexpectedly reasonable prices to boot. We spent almost two hours with a couple glasses of wine and some small plates. Tge smoked trout salad was awesome. Finished up with a Nutella crepe which was awesome. Big enough to have plenty leftover for breakfast tomorrow. If we pass through St Louis again we will be back. read more

I don't drink very often, thanks to my blessed genes, but I always love coming here regardless of occasion! Establishment - you face the bar when you walk in, with tables on either side of the door. The entire space is actually quite large, with many 2- and 4-top tables in the front of the lounge, and even more seating in the back. It's usually a bit loud, especially when you go in the evening. This is mostly due to music that's playing, either live or through the radio. Lighting is dim and intimate. What's unique, though, is that the tables are slabs of polished granite (I think, I'm not great at knowing my rocks), which adds to the overall atmosphere of the place. Outdoor patio is just as intimate, with string lights and mosquito repellent lamps during the summer, and light blankets when it's a bit chillier out. Service - everyone is very friendly and knows the wine and drink menu extensively. They always have great recommendations if you can't decide on what you want too. I feel like I do tend to wait for quite a while before anyone gets to our tables with menus, though. I think it's because the servers are also the bartenders, but I'm not sure. Drinks and food come out in a good amount of time though. Food/drinks! One of my favorite things to get here is the spinach artichoke dip; creamy, cheesy, sufficient artichoke and spinach, and the crostini's taste great even on their own. Only complaint is how much smaller the dish is now, compared to what it used to be. The German chocolate cake is also a good option if you're craving something sweet. Sangria is one of my go-to drinks, always served with fruit and not too much ice. It does seem to be less in alcohol, which I don't mind, but just something to keep in mind. The Wild Carrot is a good option for a non-alc bev too, however it's much too sweet for my liking. They occasionally have daily deals and happy hours too, which makes it even more fun to come to. Wine list is always extensive and I've never had any experienced of being served wine that's been opened for a while or not bubbly enough. Definitely recommend Sasha's on Shaw, whether it's for a date, celebration, or just hanging out! read more

We came to Sasha's for after-work drinks and dinner and the sangria didn't disappoint. The outdoor space is gorgeous, complete with plants and fairy lights that create a perfect nighttime atmosphere. Unfortunately the food took over an hour after ordering to come out even though there were few other patrons at the time, and we felt like we were begging for service (we were in the back area of the patio, which may have made seeing us difficult). I asked for napkins four separate times between three servers and never got them, which was a bit frustrating. Really fun spot in Shaw. I met a friend here for a drink one night and wanted to go back for dinner. Their patio is recently redone and a really pleasant spot to enjoy a nice evening (and dog friendly!). I had the white sangria and we split the spinach artichoke dip. I got the chopped veggie salad with chicken and my companion got the Brie BLT. The salad was good although I think the dressing could use more punch- but the roast chicken is a nice upgrade over grilled. The sangria and dip were lovely. My main grievance is that the service was very slow, so I will plan for a longer stay next time! read more

Sitting on a corner of Shaw resides Sasha's. It makes the perfect laid-back destination when looking for a wine bar. The patio is really nice and features seating in a beautiful courtyard right on Shaw. Although Sasha's patio is not very large, the foliage, layout, and outdoor landscaping make it one of the best patios I've been to in the city. The inside of the restaurant when I came here for lunch on Saturday was completely empty. When I say completely empty, I mean no living creature was inside. It looked like a dark, old English bookstore, but with no books. I entered and there was no hostess, or sign saying to seat yourself or anything. I didn't like that. So after looking inside for a minute I went to the patio and seated myself. Not long after I sat at a table, the waitress said that she'd be with me in a moment. the service was good although after I paid my bill, I was brought the check to sign without my card. When I flagged down the waitress to get my card, she apologized and said that she always forgets to get the cards out of the chip reader. Miss, I like you, you're cool, but that's something to work on. As for my order, I had a 9" Margarita Pizza and glass of Moscato. Both were really good. As many times as I've passed by Sasha's and heard of it, it's sad to me that I haven't been there until now. However, I know that I'll be back. If you're looking for a quaint, low-key, chill spot for a nice app and wine to share with friends, you should put Sasha's on your short list. read more

Every time I've been in, everything's just been okay. The concept of the menus on iPads is cool in theory but the iPads look so beat up and mine froze up a few times the last time I was there. Drinks have always been great and food is just okay. I would highly recommend going for happy hour but I wouldn't recommend for an entire lunch or dinner. Food portions aren't very big and if you're not just snacking, it doesn't seem worth it.
