I have been hearing about Picasso's for years now but somehow we never found our way there. But we…read morerecently decided to lock in and we were going to make it. I knew they were in the Mandarin area but wasn't exactly sure where but once we looked it up we realized how often we were in the area. We did come in on a Saturday Night so there was a wait to get in which was about 45 minutes for 2 but lucky Monkey's Uncle is right next-door so we grabbed some drinks there. We got our text that our table was ready and we walked over. Once seated our waitress went over the specials and I checked out the menu. They really have something for everyone and even some New Orleans classics. We of course had to get the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp since it's favorites plus it's one of their most popular dishes so it has to be good and you already know it was. The spicy butter sauce had so much flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the bread was great for sopping up every last drop of sauce. Being at Picasso's we also had to try a pizza and they have St Louis style which is have never had but I do love a thin crust so we tried the 12" The Gourmet Pizza which comes with Pancetta Bacon, Caramelized Onions, Brie, and Truffle Oil. This pizza was amazing and unlike any I have had. I will say the Brie will catch you off guard at first but this pizza is for sure worth a try. For my entree I went with the Fettuccine Alfredo and I added a Chicken Cutlet for $10. Let me tell you.... This might have been the best Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever hit it's that good. The Fettuccine Alfredo is made in house from scratch which is how it always should be done and the Alfredo is so flavorful. The Chicken Cutlet is also crispy, tender and flavorful as well. You really cannot go wrong with this combo. If you are a connoisseur of Fettuccine Alfredo Picasso's is a place you can not miss. We had an amazing dinner and the staff was so friendly and hopeful from entering to leaving. We for sure will be coming back in the near future to try some new dishes though I don't know how I'm going to be able to come back and not get that Fettuccine Alfredo.

I've tried multiple pastas and they never disappoint. The space is a decent size, but they're usually so busy you may have to wait a little while. It's worth it for a solid experience! Nice wine selection and they often have food specials if you like to try different things.

We ordered cucumber salad in spicy sauce and soup dumplings. We've never had either dish anywhere. Service was very friendly but we thought at first it was slow for what we ordered. The answer to that was, there was a party ahead of us that ordered quite a few dishes, but we were served before them, SO the answer became apparent that the kitchen was slammed and we were fine with that! The cucumber dish was fantastic! The soup dumplings looked and tasted fresh and delicious. The one downer was only one dumpling had soup, but we poured the spicy sauce on them and that was great. Looking forward to trying new dishes I've never had before.

Cucumber salad, shrimp stuffed tofu, shrimp dumpling soup and roast pork fried rice. By far the best pork fried rice I've had in Jacksonville. The shrimp in the tofu and the dumplings in the soup is always so fresh tasting and delicious. Service is always very friendly and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Very soothing background music that allows you to still think as you listen. Everything is prepared to order. Multiple visits now and not one disappointment. It's a must stop place.

For appetizers, we started with the snapper bites and the fried blue crab claws. Both were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. For our entrees, we decided on the seafood broil and the fried platters. Both dishes hit the spot. The portion sizes were well balanced, and we left feeling satisfied rather than overly full. On top of that, the pricing was great. Our waiter was great, but the pacing of the meal could have been smoother since it took about 45 minutes to get our entrees. There were a couple of other notable downsides. The restaurant was quite loud, and to top it all off, a woman at the table right next to us had her shoes off. Management really should have controlled that kind of behavior, as it detracts from the dining experience. Furthermore, despite making reservations to celebrate our anniversary, the restaurant did not acknowledge it at all. That was unfortunate. Still, the quality of the food and the service from our waiter kept things afloat.

They have cool flavored salts for sale (I purchased the Vampire Killer) and other interesting items. I ordered the iced Doughfee coffee and it's NO JOKE! Their donuts are brioche style and so so so fluffy! My favorite donut here is the creme brulee! It's filled with that delicious cream and the caramelized sugar on top makes it crazy good! The owner is super nice, kind, and friendly! He always goes above and beyond to make sure we get top notch service and high quality donuts! The shop is also super clean and kid friendly! Plenty of seating and also an area for kids to play. They occasionally do seasonal flavors like ube, pandan, coconut, sesame, etc. I've also tried their coffees and lattes and they're all delicious, no complaints! But their savory doughninis though! Oh my gosh! The sandwiches are exquisite! My favorite is the fire pesto (turkey, cheese, egg, pesto, and chili oil on top). I cannot tell you how good this sandwich is! Every bite, I always savor, because it's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Their fries are also fire! Perfectly fried, crispy and golden, with some special seasoning on top! Prices are really reasonable for what you get and the quality cannot be matched! That's why I'm a regular! They do sell out sometimes so make sure you come early or call ahead! Definitely check out this donut shop, you won't be disappointed!

I've been to Salento twice now, so I feel like I got a good sense of what they have to offer…read more I started with the carne empanadas, which came with complimentary chimichurri and hot sauce. They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The environment is pretty nice and quiet.
