    Delicious baked goods!
    Ashley C.

I am updating my review as my last one was before the ownership change. Spoiler alert, it's still amazing. We were nervous with the ownership change, but the new owners kept the high standards. They have the same hospitality, passion, and skill of the previous owners. While the menu changed a little bit, the food is still completely addicting (banh mi, mee goreng, satay, baked goods... All 100/10). The service is some of the best around, everything is incredibly clean, food is delicious and fresh, and we are thrilled! Tldr: if you haven't been here, go.

My husband and I come here for lunch when our tires are getting changed. :) We came on a Tuesday around 11:20, and we were the only customers at that point, but it quickly filled up. They've made some changes to the restaurant, and they all seem good. There are glasses of water for the tables, a bit of waiter service, some of the dishes have changed, there was dessert. . . Also, the service is so good, and the lady serving us was very sweet. On a recommendation from the tire guy, we both got Vietnamese coffees - they were amazing! We also ordered Singapore Rice Noodles and Mee Goreng. Both were delicious! We'll be back, maybe even before the next tire change.

Great neighborhood. Mom and pop place. Convenient and delicious to go go to. Or you can eat there. There's a few tables. Foods are delicious and authentic. Staffs are nice So nice to have a little taste of (close to/almost) home. Every now and then

In Minnesota for two days and had to visit Satay to Go for very authentic Malaysian! When we lived in the twin cities we drove 60 miles round trip just to eat here. Great entries and awesome bakery. Corrine the owner smile is worth the trip by itself! If you haven't eaten chicken Satay venture to Apple Valley to have the authentic version.... As good as the streets of Singapore.

Annoyed that Nasmi Lemak was $15 for rice, and the curry had 4 cubes of chicken and a couple pcs of potato. The flavor was really good but the portion is not ok... We also got the Roti Canai and it was two pcs of Roti bread and a small side cup of watery "curry" for $15...im confused.

I recently visited Minnesota to visit family. One of the places I visited was Satay 2 Go. This is an authentic Southeast Asian restaurant which served meals and also bakery items that I absolutely loved. I went on a weekday and there was no line. I ended up ordering the Chicken Mee Goreng and Laksa as well as chicken barbecue and chicken curry pastries.   Chicken Mee Goreng -A delicious egg noodle stir fry with flavors reminiscent of the typical Cantonese egg noodle chow mein. This was ordered spicy and had just the right amount of heat. I was extremely impressed with the tastes and would recommend friends to order this. Laksa -Malaysian curry noodle soup with bean sprouts and shredded chicken. The curry broth was made with a coconut milk that perfectly complimented the dish. I would highly recommend taking a spoonful of shredded chicken, bean sprout and noodles along with some coconut curry broth to truly experience all of the exceptional flavors. The Laksa already comes with some spice and is perfect to eat during a cold Minnesotan day. Chicken Barbecue (not pictured) -Hand-sized pastries filled with barbecued chicken. The filling had exceptional flavor and the pastry was light and flaky. Overall, the filling-to-pastry ratio was perfect. Chicken Curry (not pictured) -Hand-sized pastries filled with curry chicken. The filling had a delicious yellow curry flavor and the pastry was light and flaky. Unlike the barbecue chicken, I felt that there could have been more curry chicken filling.   Of note, there's no water or soda fountain. There is a fridge full of canned/bottled beverages for purchase if you plan to order a highly spicy dish. Also, there were plenty of dishes that were sold out. I was looking forward to trying the Japanese pizza which Satay 2 go is known for. Overall, I am happy to have stopped by Satay 2 Go. Their quality of noodle dishes was phenomenal. The staff was extremely friendly and made a positive dining experience. Looking forward to the next time I visit and hope to try some of the dishes that were previously out when I last visited!

    Menu

Great food and awesome customer service they have a very unique menu, highly recommend to try everything! Very authentic Vietnamese Noodle Soup! I love their broth. For mochi donuts, they use real dried fruits for toppings, and not too sweet as other places. Cause this is to-go restaurant so no bathroom, but they still have a few tables for you to sit. However, I definitely recommend this place! Lovely staffs

I believe that since COVID they have transitioned to takeout only, and it's great to see that the business is still thriving even if they are still operating under the takeout only model despite how the world has evolved away from the pandemic. For the few dishes that I came here for, qualities varied, with some dishes lacking flavor while others simply sloppily created. The Hainanese chicken relied solely on the extra dipping sauces for flavor while the chicken itself had no flavor alone. The nasi lemak had good flavor mainly because of the sambal, and the chicken had good texture. I didn't see any peanuts in the dish, which I thought was needed for nasi lemak. The sizzling beef and ginger scallion duck had pretty expected flavor because of their ingredients, meaning that what they looked like was what they tasted like, if that makes sense. When I got food from there a second time 4 months later, overall the food was better. The chili tofu wasn't spicy at all even if I asked for spicy in my original order. The char kway teow had both good flavor and soft texture, allowing a positive tasting experience. The sambal shrimp had a good amount of vegetables and not enough shrimp, and had very good flavor because of the sambal infused with the dish. Because their menu is huge, I think they have an adequate selection of options that can serve customers of all kinds. Even though this is not one of my favorite spots within the Twin Cities, the dishes they have already solidifies this establishment as a "must not miss" within the area.

At the time, I didn't realize it was take out only. However, it worked out for us to pick it up as we headed to a friend's house for dinner. We ordered: BBQ Pork Lo Mein - simple and classic, not much for veggies Spicy Basil Beef - delicious, could be spicier Pineapple Chicken - think on sweet and sour sauce but tasty Spicy Tofu - SO good, their tofu is made in house! Crispy outside, soft inside Roti Canai - amazing! No wonder this is a top rec on Yelp Dumplings - average but good! Chicken Rice - We didn't realize each dish came with rice, so we ordered this but so glad we did - it had amazing flavor. Pick up process was very easy - they have their system down. Highly recommend supporting this locally owned spot next time you're craving takeout!

The volume in the restaurant is quite loud, so the patio may be better if you don't want to speak up at the table. Service is on the slower side but the food is worth the wait. -- The Sakoo small plate was an incredible dish! The texture contrast between the filling, chewy exterior, and lettuce shell was fantastic. It was so flavorful and has a bit of a spice kick to it. -- The Mango Fish entree was packed with flavor, and is a very umami-forward dish. The piece of crispy salmon skin on the side is perfectly crunchy and salty. It's a filet of salmon (not a whole fish) and the salmon is nice and buttery. -- The Duck Fried Rice entree had good flavor but the duck meat was dry. It did not come with the duck leg or crispy skin, and instead had chunks of duck meat throughout the dish. This dish has a bit of a spice kick to it. -- The Pistachio Orange Blossom Cake dessert was SO GOOD. I'm not a huge dessert person and I ate every bite of this. The cake is so moist and pairs well with the fluffy mousse covering the cake. The little bits of baklava and orange zest complemented this dish really well.

I will be thinking of how good that dish is for the rest of my life; the coconut milk and lime combined with the texture of fresh seafood really hit the spot! The Thai basil wings and Massaman curry were very yummy also. I enjoyed my meal so thoroughly that I forgot to take many pictures. The presentation on my cocktail (a tonic with vodka and buddha hand fruit) was very pretty. Service was thoughtful and quick. The restaurant itself was beautiful and open and airy -- I almost felt like I wasn't in Minneapolis anymore. We went on a Tuesday, and only drawback I'd say is that the noise level can be a little bit loud due to the acoustics and how the room is one giant space. Otherwise, very happy with the restaurant and would go again.
