Breakfast at Satellite has been a family tradition for the last few years, we enjoy the creative breakfast platter combinations, the home cooked quality taste of the food, & the unique coffee flavor selections our last experience, ordering to-go, was a bit negative (missing items, lack of quality plating, and greasier less flavored food)- but this visit was back to our higher quality normal hearty tummy love we shared a corned beef hash, two egg, and pancake platter & a Chesapeake Sarah- both were well-made, well-seasoned, and back to their heartiness server was fantastic with attending to our larger party (complete with two kiddos-very friendly) an experience reaffirming our family happiness read more

we stayed at the Howard Johnson adjacent to the cafe. we had jalapeño poppers and chicken fingers and fries for a late lunch. poppers werent the greatest. little flavor. could have used a zesty dipping sauce. fries were good and my son enjoyed the chicken fingers. we originally wanted pizza but it wasn't available yet in the season. read more

Food was ok - hashbrowns came out cold (would have been good hot), but the croissant sandwich was ok. The pancake was fine. The almond coffee drink was nasty - literally couldn't drink it. It's so cute and eclectic but the service wasn't great and the food really wasn't very good. Wouldn't recommend. There's so many better places. read more

Don't go here. I was down for a bachelorette party with a group of girls. My card was charged 2 different charges for my breakfast. I would have never noticed, but since someone else from our group said there was suspicious activity on her card from somewhere, it made me double check my online statements. I don't know if someone stole my credit card info there or made a mistake somehow. I tried to call the number for the restaurant to get the charge taken off but it said number not in service, which I thought was shady. So I had to call my bank to report it to get my money back and they had to send me another card. I barely got it in time for my vacation, and I would have been really pissed if I didn't get it. Food wasn't really great either. The pancakes were really flat and dry. Tasted like it was made earlier and reheated. Service wasn't that great either. There's so many better places to go , I would skip this one. read more

Food was trash, how can you mess up basic breakfast food. They can. 20 min wait for the food. What wasn't cold or reheated. Pricing was high for breakfast foods. Would never come here again. Maybe it was a bad day for their cook. Rye bread was good. Not really toasted, or buttered. It was just our luck. Atmosphere was cool looking. Either the boss or owner had no issues cussing at patrons. Workers felt he had their backs. Bad look with other customers just sitting there. So over priced!!! read more

Stopped here for a small lunch while on the 24th street beach. This is located in the ground floor of the Howard Johnson hotel and the entrance is on the side facing 24th Street. Looks like an ample option for both pool folk at the hotel and also people coming off the beach - but it would be good if they had some signage out on the boardwalk to alert people to themselves. Looks like they renovated recently - new flooring, clean white bar faces and butcher block countertops. Staff was friendly and took our order quickly. This was a carry out order, and we went with a cheesesteak sub which came with fries, as well as an order of cheese sticks. The sun was very good - a good mix of cheese and steak- and the bread was fresh. As for the fries they weren't very fresh but good overall. The cheese sticks are BATTERED not breaded - which is my FAVORITE style. Marinara was tangy and very good as well. I was teetering between 3 and 4 stars - but the battered sticks puts it over the edge and into 4 star territory. read more

Amazing food. First time getting Chipped beef, was very impressed. (Not pictured) I enjoyed the coffee as well, very deep rich flavor. I was really confused when my wife insisted that we go here for breakfast. I always check Yelp and didn't see why she'd want to go here. When we got here she was also like, oh they must have redecorated, and it wasn't until after we had eaten that we figured out she got it confused with Sahara Cafe. First, you go through a magnetic screen curtain that is supposed to keep flies out, but it was wide open. There were flies everywhere. Then, the hostess was pleasant but the waiter really seemed confused. The food came out quickly, but was not very good and it took quite a while to get everything we ordered. French toast here is out of this world! They use thick bread so it tastes a lot better than the thin sliced bread. Came in on a Sunday and we were able to be seated right away. Service was super quick. I ordered two eggs, sausage and French toast. I can't remember the name of the meal itself but it was very good. I also tried some of the pancakes which were gigantic! Those were tasty as well. Prices are cheap and the food is great so all in all a nice breakfast spot in OC. read more

One. Star. That's. All. I. Can. Give. This place looked so charming from the street that we felt compelled to give it a try. I wish we had continued driving. To start, we walked in and we greeted by no one. Assuming that were to seat ourselves we chose a table. Two servers walked by and gave us funny looks. A lady came by and asked if she seated us, then asked if we needed menus. Since we didn't have any menus we told her yes. Now, the menu looks GREAT. My mouth was watering while reading the menu. Our server arrived slowly and took our order and then we began to wait. And wait and wait some more. We watched a table sat after us be served before us and even by the same server!! When our food finally arrived she left off my order (there were four of us) only bringing the bacon that came with my order. When I questioned her, she told me I'd have to wait. When I finally got my order, my eggs were over cooked and my pancakes had no flavor. Our server also never came back to check on us, and we had to flag her down just to get our check. I am staying at the Princess Bayside hotel, which is next door to this place. Since this hotel does not offer any breakfast, I had no choice but go to Satellite Café for a bite to eat this morning, since my husband, who is attending a convention in Ocean City, had our car. This was by far the worst breakfast I had ever had, and it set me back $14.00 after tip - and I have no clue why I tipped my waiter. - I ordered my egg fried, sunny side up. It came overdone, over easy, with no visible yolk. - The hash browns were burnt, very dry, and tasteless. - The toast had practically no butter on it. Since the only free table outside was in the hot sun, I retreated inside. The place looked most unappealing and dingy/dirty. Frankly, I should have left. Before I did, a few people arrived, and I felt like advising them to leave right away and go elsewhere for breakfast, but refrained.... Anyway, I hope that this review will keep you from ever having breakfast there. I bought breakfast foods at a grocery store today, and will eat them in my hotel room tomorrow morning! On a lunch break from a convention, I found the Satellite Cafe. Unaware that their off-season hours are not reflected accurately on Yelp, we arrived just as they closed. The staff were extremely gracious, and served us anyway. There was not another soul in the restaurant, so they could have easily (and understandably) turned us away. The decor is cozy and homey. Very good little breakfast place. Great seating areas. Our server even offered to give us water which, while we had it covered, was a very kind thing to offer and I am touched she would go out of her way for us like that.
