    a bowl of soup

Highly recommend all vegans visit this spot on their trip through the Catskills. We got the vegan chicken noodle soup with the bread bowl which was perfect for the fall/winter weather outside. The soup was delicious and good portion. We also got 2 vegan chicken sandwiches. For starters, the vegan chick'n patty is homemade in store and the BEST we've ever had. We travel often and have tried many Chick'n patty's, but this is the best by far. It tastes like real chicken (even better actually). I want to say this in the kindest way possible because I truly mean these are the best we've had, but the sandwiches were a bit over spiced. These sandwiches are the real deal and so flavorful on their own. They don't need all that sauce on the sandwich because the flavor is so amazing on its own. Next time I would request no seasoning/sauce on my sandwich because we enjoyed the sandwich so much just as it is. The sauce just takes away some of the beautiful flavors that the awesome cook created! Can't wait to return to this spot on our next trip.

Came for a late lunch on a Sunday. The tuna Niçoise salad (a special) was amazing - it had fresh tuna - and I really liked the basil Mac and cheese, too. Owner/chef Inez also gave us complimentary potato chips, which were incredible; definitely get those. Yes, the ambiance/decor needs work, but Inez is great and she makes great food. If nothing else, the food is worth it. Big portions, too.

Support your locals. We met the chef and treated us well. The place is small and cozy. Recommend reservations. Lively décor and local folks who have lots to talk about and we enjoyed their convos. The burger was simple and delicious. The spicy chicken sandwich was nicely spiced. I would forgo the cake and cookies, unless fresh, and have the small cheesecakes. And although the food may be 'fresh' its still cooked in lots of grease that did not bode well will our tummies the next day.

Check out this cozy little place with a terrible decor but a giant heart and giant food. The most important feature is the owner, Inez. Sweet, big-hearted, passionate, and energetic, she obviously loves her food and her folks. She also loves to create new concoctions and it's all over the map. At the core are the burgers. That's her thing. But she also makes the pastries in the front, which are so expertly crafted that I figured she must be buying those. How do you turn out pro-quality pastries in that tiny kitchen??? And she says she wants to do French dishes. If I were Inez's business consultant, I'd say stick to the basics, especially for a small place, but she seems motivated to create. My burger, a mind meld of the sloppy joe and the bacon burger, is a case in point. Creative, heartfelt, but flawed. Overly salty and not especially saucy. But even given that, I would come back again and again if I were local. I would also tell her to raise the prices by $1. I mean, who serves anything for $5? And the decor needs work. It's a small place, sparse, and a little heavy on the plastic. But we don't go here for the decor, do we? Come here and enjoy the love, the creativity, and Inez's larger than life personality. Enjoy the food and sample different dishes. I think this place has great potential.

This is a classic example of "Don't judge a book by its cover"! We walked into this hidden gem and wasn't sure what to make of it. 5 tables, and an empty pastry case, certainly didn't spell "amazing" for what I'm used to. The woman that greeted us, wasn't sure what to make of us either, asking if "we were just looking around". My wife would have walked out right there. I had a good vibe, so we stayed. We looked at the menu, and there were a ton of choices, and all of which looked and sounded great. The "hostess" was the owner, and chef. Being from the city, she was ready to go. She explained that all of the ingredients were fresh, never frozen. Meat ground daily on premise, and all fresh breads. My wife ordered the caprese chicken sandwich, my daughter got the 8oz cheese burger with fresh cut fries, my youngest got the homemade Mac & cheese, and I told her "dealers choice". She made me the "moms burger" with thick applewood bacon, cheese, fried egg and bbq sauce on a 12oz burger. I'll just say what my middle daughter said "that was the best burger I have ever had"! She ate this entire monster burger, and all her fries. My wife's chicken sandwich was huge, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection and super juicy! My little ones Mac and cheese was baked and was creamy and the perfect blend of cheeses with a nice crust on top! My burger was out of control. Delicious, juicy, cooked medium rare and the bread was fresh and crispy outside, soft brioche inside. All in all, it was a great dining experience. We were the first customer she had that day, but, another couple came in with the same skepticism as I did, and she was genuinely impressed when they saw our food come out, and they stayed. I couldn't recommend this restaurant anymore than I am. This chef, shouldn't be in a town of 50, but in an Uber trendy downtown gastro pub! Hats off to the mom of two great kids (doing their thing in the back of the restaurant and not at all annoying, perfectly fine by these parents that get to see their mom working hard and chasing her dream!). If you're passing through, going to resort world, or just want to take a drive, you won't be disappointed!

I do not normally like to talk down on local businesses. I Like to see the good in people, even on…read moremy worst days. I really hope that someone (if it is just one person) in this building actually cares about food, customer service, helping people, or just spreading any sort of joy or kindness in general.....but I did not see a shred of evidence during my dinner here. Here's the shorthand for anyone who doesn't want to read my family's story: The water tastes like blood here. The service is abysmal and takes way too long. The vibe is very unwelcoming and unpleasant. The food is low effort and extremely overpriced. Here is my experience: We had a group of six, we left the little ones at home- my niece and her older cousin. The family was stoked to have a night to have some good drinks, laughs, and food on our airbnb vacation. This was pretty much the only restaurant in the area so we had to go here. Safe to say our night and our fun came to a screeching halt. Immediately drunk patrons at the bar were yelling slurs and the bartenders laughing with them all buddy-buddy. Dirty looks from the hostess and bartenders. We are from NJ, so maybe we are just lucky and have cleaner tap water, but all our our tap waters tastes like blood to us. Straight up mercury. Same with the soda from the tap. Awful. Our extremely unhappy (from the start) waitress rolled her eyes when we told her this and asked for other water. We were brought bottled water about 20 minutes later by a different angry waiter. The service was abysmal. Everyone in there, including the bartenders, seemed like they wanted us dead. Angry furrowed brows all around. Our entire excruciating experience was almost two hours long, and this is even with us rushing to eat and drink quickly because the vibes were so awful in there. The "pizza" we ordered was a piece of thin hard bread with about an ounce of tomato sauce drizzled on it for $40. The food was overpriced and not very good. The mashed potatoes were a liquid. My sister ordered a burger excluding vegetables that she was allergic to yet it was brought out with everything she requested to be taken off right there on the burger. Careless. No one there cares. At all. Right from the start they seemed annoyed that we showed up. I understand that working sucks- I get that, I really get that. I fucking hate my job, serious I do. But if you work at a restaurant where people come to laugh and relax and have a night out, I really think you at least should be pleasant. I have worked plenty service jobs where I hated being there, but for the sake of kindness and humanity I would treat customers like people with feelings. I wouldn't treat them like a burden or like I hated them. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I pray for the miserable souls that work here and emanate mean and unpleasant energy. There is a future full of joy and love, we just need to start by spreading it to our neighbor.
