GO HERE! Wow! One of the best meals I've ever had. I asked the owner what his favorite was-veal with eggplant, tomato, and cheese on top. I very rarely eat veal, but I've never heard of this before, and I went with his recommendation. It was also over what was clearly homemade pasta (though they don't even note this on the menu!). You can't imagine how delicious this was from the description. This was a large portion which also came with a big bowl of salad with delicious house dressing and a bowl of "garlic knots"-again, you will not understand what these are like from the description. Fabulous! My husband got pasta carbonara which he always gets. This was different from anywhere-the "bacon" was like a maple Canadian bacon which added a unique, delicious flavor to the homemade "Alfredo" sauce. Maybe the most amazing thing is that my fabulous meal was $28 and my husband's was $20. Oh, you can also bring your own wine with no corking fee. I left a 40% tip which still felt like I was robbing them. I told the owner he really should consider raising his prices by 50%. We may very well go back for the next two nights we're in town. Really cute place with a nice outdoor patio with tables and chairs. Inside is very small. We ordered takeout online for a specific time as we were traveling about 1.5 hours away. both grinders made incorrectly. My $13 grinder was $16 when I added basic toppings and then didn't get them. Cold grinders were toasted and the texture was like they were made when we originally ordered them, not the scheduled time. Definitely disappointing read more

I worked there for like 3 weeks during covid and am no longer in contact with the owner. The food is really good. He keeps his kitchen clean. It's a small family run shop, he's putting his kids through college selling pizzas. I have a lot of respect for him in that sense. I really like the pizza, I didn't like working there. What a gem this place is! All scratch-made food by caring, attentive staff who really go the extra mile to make you comfortable and fill your bellies! We stopped in for a lunch and had some pizza slices (excellent thin crust with tasty sauce!), a shrimp Caesar with fresh big grilled shrimp and a lovely homemade creamy dressing. Also tried the chicken cutlet grinder which my husband said was the best he has had in CT and he is a cutlet aficionado! My daughter also had the chicken pesto panini which was on this wonderful flatbread sooo good. Last night we celebrated our wedding anniversary and ordered delivery from Saybrook Pizza. The sole Francese was delicious and my husband thought the same of the veal. But this review and 5 stars is for the delivery. The same man delivers for this restaurant; not one of many from a delivery service. He is quick, efficient and accurate; truly caring everything is right. We hit an age where we rely heavily on home delivery and have had some great experiences and some very disappointing. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was amazingly delicious. My dad doesn't even like chicken on pizza but he said it was the best pizza he's had in a very long time. The crust was thin and crisp. The owner? I'm assuming owner, brought us out some garlic knots to try and just the smell alone was making my mouth water. The possible owner was extremely friendly and we chatted a little bit. The outside seating area was very cute and far enough away from the main road where there was no issue with traffic noise. 10/10 read more

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner yesterday and I was astounded by how good the pizza was. If you love thinly sliced pizza then this is your place. I came in when the store was about to close and the owner greeted me with nothing but positive energy!!! Delicious pizza! We were tired and hungry after driving from upstate NY. This was highly rated on Yelp so we went with it. We ordered 3 pies: broccoli rabe and sausage, white clam and a plain cheese. The delivery was fast and the pizzas were hot, hurray! All tasted great and were plentiful with thin crust. The broccoli rabe was deliciously bitter and chewy to compliment the slight heat of the sausage and garlicky white pizza. The clams were fresh and sweet along with more of the delicious garlic and mozzarella white pizza flavor. The plain cheese pie had a good balance of sweet and salty flavors and a perfect sauce to cheese ratio. All 7 of us from 11 to adult enjoyed leftovers for breakfast the next day too! We've eaten here a few times now, and it's always been good. The only problem is they ALWAYS manage to get something wrong, either forgetting something or adding something you've asked to have removed. The food is good though. OMG FINALLY!!! I've been working in Westbrook (on the Old Saybrook line) for a year and a 1/2 and have NOT been able to find a decent restaurant to grab lunch from... I actually need delivery as the sole employee of a local business and this place seriously came to the rescue. The food is absolutely DELISH and doesn't carry the ridiculous price tag that this area typically charges. I ordered the Classic Burger with bacon- Huge portions and delish! Everything was very fresh, hot and crispy as if I were at the restaurant when the food came out. I asked for an extended delivery time and the friendly delivery person got here at the time I had requested on the dot. Let me start by saying all of us thought our food was mediocre. But they do have the #1 rudest staff! I have never experienced such rude people on my life - and I work in NY. It also takes a lot for me to write a review, but my entire party was shocked by how downright rude the young women who work the front were. They grinder was almost done, but I had just ordered the baked dish (never said grinder, don't like the sandwich version, I nicely said "oh I had ordered the baked dish not the grinder, could I please have the dish". They then rolled their eyes, tried to blame me, and said they cost different and it's too late I had paid, I offered to pay the difference but they kept going back at me with an attitude so I said it's fine and I'd just eat it off the bread. They continued to want to fight with me about it when I said it was fine and would take the wrong item. I mean literally like shouting and wouldn't let it go. Even when I wasn't talking to them. So awkward and uncomfortable.L If you have two dishes, one with the regular name and then one a sandwich, maybe you should clarify vs assuming which one someone wants. And when in doubt, if they don't add the extra word "grinder" in their order, maybe assume they want the baked option if you're going to have a melt down if you guess wrong. read more

Amazing as usual! This place has never disappointed me. We tried their wedding soup tonight and it was really good just like their saybrook tortellini. Seriously if you haven't tried it you really need to. They also gave us their chicken noodle soup to take home and try so I'm excited for that. This family are the kindest people and are always so warm and welcoming. The Broccoli Rabe and Sausage Pizza sounds like a winner (which is what I thought), but it was so soggy that the crust (which I ordered "well done"), was falling apart... The Rabe was wet and uncooked - fibrous and nasty, while the cheese was hard as a rock... I also ordered a Clams Casino pizza - - a bit better - but it was so dense - again - it became inedible after 1 slice... Hard as a rock cheese, and Very Tough crust that turned to cardboard as I was eating it!... Lots of bacon - but could not even taste or see any clams... A complete waste of almost $30... When we ordered we were told 45 minutes for delivery which would have been perfect, it arrived about 20 minutes after we ordered. Ordered a salad. As I walked in the door I saw one girl grab my salad and bring it back to the salad station because something wasn't right on it. I'm waiting to pay at the register and I see another girl at the salad station putting peppers on the salad which they had forgot. This worker was grabbing each pepper with her bare hands and placing them on the salad. It was gross but no big deal I figured I would just take them off immediately. When I get home with the salad the chicken is strange looking, bacon is NOT COOKED whatsoever it is cold and slimey, and I stopped at that point because everything else on it seemed like it had been sitting out for days.
