My husband and I ate at the food court in Yorktown mall while we were running errands (Victoria's Secret for me). There was nothing in the Food Court that I wanted, but I had an avocado in my bag and ate that. Hubby got two slices from Sbarro (he loves places that serve slices), but he said their pizzas have gone far downhill from the Sbarro of the old days. He didn't take more than a few bites of the slices and shared my avocado with me. Yorktown is a dead mall. We really do not plan on returning. read more

Sbarro has really gone downhill the past few years... my last visit was confirmation. Slice of cheese was not good.

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering delivery from here... My 4 year old said he wanted pizza for dinner and for nostalgia's sake, I ordered Sbarro for food. I had good memories of the place from 90s mall visits but now the food is unrecognizable and you might as well buy a Tombstone pizza for the same quality. I ordered delivery through Grub Hub and ended up spending 15 minutes on the phone with customer service. I ordered 6 items and by the time I checked my email, 2 of the items got cancelled but there was no warning or opportunity to replace them. Initially my 2 slices of pizza + side of ziti + Pepsi + 1 meatball + stromboli costs + slice of cake + delivery cost $35! I ended up getting a refund and a "free" order, but the food was barely edible besides the Pepsi. Save your money by buying a frozen pizza or get a full pizza from one of the dozens of pizza shops around town. No flavor to anything. All hot food was luke warm except for the mushy ziti. It seems like the food had been sitting out all day. Yuck. I should've known better to order meal delivery from a shopping mall food court. Never again! read more

You would be forgiven for thinking this place is closed despite food being on display. The staff outright ignore customers and choose not to serve them. I walked away after waiting for 5 minutes at the counter asking for two slices. The owner should be prepared to fire their staff or accept that they are losing money because they do not want to work. read more

I still really enjoy Sbarro in Yorktown Mall, it's been there for over 30 years but still the same quality and price I expect. All staff particularly Sonia and I think the owner Frank are very accommodating. I use them frequently for catering small events. My faves are the sausage pepper onion and lemon chicken. Mall food court pizza has a special place in my heart. Sbarro has been serving up quasi-Italian dishes to throngs of mall goers for as long as I can remember. For nostalgia's sake, every time I hit Yorktown, I have to hit up Sbarro for their food. Their slices are decent, but I'm a fan of their Stromboli. I've had the pepperoni one, but it is very greasy and heavy on the stomach. The spinach and cheese one is much better, and tastes great with some marinara sauce on top. For about $9, you can get a large piece of Stromboli, a medium drink, and your choice of a side. (Breadsticks, pasta salad, garden salad, or Cesar salad.) I usually go with the pasta salad; not too oily with large chunks of broccoli. They also have many different pizzas available, and they always run the slice through the oven, so it is always served hot. (Though the freshness on some looks rather questionable.) Quite a few pasta and salad options as well. Service is efficient, and they are always well staffed. read more

Right now there is construction going on at the Yorktown Mall and they have Sbarro and a couple other places in a little corner of the mall. You know how you typically leave your jacket in the car when you go into certain establishments that have a lot of oil and so-so ventilation? Well, add this Sbarro to the list. I came out of there smelling like oily pizza. And not in a good way. I'm not sure here is a good way. But it wasn't good. Food wise they were pretty standard Sbarro. The service was pretty quick. Although the girl at the register was all like, your order is $6.32 when I was still a few places away from the register. So I handed her my card and it came out to $6.95 or something. Not a big deal, but I find it funny that she just randomly guessed my order. I'm sure she's right sometimes which probably makes up for not being right other times. I was in the food court restroom today, and a Sbarro employee comes out after using the bathroom stall and doesn't wash his hands. He went straight back to work and he was one of the guys making the food. I'm not a "talk to the manager" guy but I had to talk to him and let him know. That's disgusting, there's no reason to get people sick. It only takes 1 bad apple but I'll never eat here again. read more

Say goodbye to the mall pizza. I loved their pizza and willing to pay 4.50 for a slice. Now the slice is not only smaller it tastes like warmed over pizza. The cheese is bad, the crust is too thin with no outside crust. This is not th pizza that we used to love. You will die soon with this very cheap version of the pizza we loved. read more

I really love this Sbarro. I'm not usually a big mall food court dining person, but when you have an active toddler who only eats pepperoni pizza, then this place is the greatest. Honestly, the pizza, pasta, and salads are fresh. And they don't skimp on the portion. The manager is alway so friendly that's it makes me think that he's the owner because I can see how much he cares about the store. His team of associates are friendly and efficient even on during busy rush. read more

Well let's start with the new design. I think yorktown wasted a lot of money remodeling the food court and the mall. It was fine the way it was. The food here is the same as it always was. This is a common mall food court "go to" in the Chicago area. The one thing I hate about this place and has me reconsidering eating here is how expensive it is. I miss the sbarros of the 90s and early 2000s. I hate to be that person. The menu seems "unchanged" on paper but the pizza keeps getting worse and worse. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because every time I come here my pizza (despite being put in a warming oven) comes out just slightly warm. And then there's the price! This used to be the cheap affordable place you would go to as a teen when you visited the mall. I paid almost $10 for a slice of pizza and a small drink today. Service is always mediocre -- with employees speaking to each other and treating costumers as their second priority. And although this location appears much nicer than other Sbarro locations in the area, it just lacks the appeal it once had for me. read more

I don't care how big of a pizza snob you think you are. This place is underrated. I'm rating this strictly on the pizza. The thin slice NY style pizza is good. You get a decent variety from vegetarian, Italian beef (special at the time), to cheese and traditional meat toppings. The crust has a nice crunch and the slices are great for a quick bite. If you can get past the crazy family/little kid scene it's worth stopping in you're near by. Don't forget to make sure they heat the slice up for you. Smile when you order! read more

The only reason I gave them a four instead of a five was because they didn't have the same variety of pizzas as the other locations. The guy making the pizza is his name is Nick he's an excellent worker practically doing everything by him self. He busts his hump and gives you excellent service and should be recognized for this. Stop giving out paper plates for pizza. The pizza is so heavy the single paper plate can't hold it. Use common sense instead of being cheap.

The pizza here has always been decent, but it has declined in recent years. I also have come to realize that the pizza could be sitting out on those trays for hours on end without being kept under heat lamps. I paid the price the last time I went. I got a slice of pepperoni right off the tray, they didn't put it in the oven, and I started eating. I got terrible food poisoning that night that made me cancel a trip I had the next day that I had planned for a while :( I will never eat here again, someone needs to check their health practices! read more

If I was basing this review on food alone, they would probably get 4 stars, but I'm writing this review specifically based on an experience I had with the staff yesterday. My sister and I went in to the food court last night, each armed with a coupon for a free order of 2 breadsticks that we printed off from SEPARATE emails we received a few days ago. When I first presented my coupon, I was told that I would only get 1 breadstick, I don't know why, but whatever, that's ok with me. Then my sister presented hers and they refused to except it because they said it was a copy of mine. We tried explaining that we each had our own coupons emailed to us but the staffer didn't believe us so she went to get her manager. I had hoped this would clear things up because the manager should be a reasonable guy, but NO, he also gave my sister an attitude about how her coupon was just a copy of mine. Was a pretty big prick about it too. The breadstick cost him what... maybe 5 cents to make? Give it up buddy, now you've lost 2 customers due to your VERY poor customer service skills. read more

Always happy with the choices. Their lasagna is my favorite & tastes just like homemade. Last week my husband tried the lemon, garlic chicken with pasta & a garlic roll & it was sooo tasty & moist that we're going to the shopping mall tonight so I can order it. He tends to like chicken, so every time we eat here, he tries whatever chicken dish they have that night & he's always happy with it. They also serve good salad choices, too. We like the pizza there, too, if you get there before your favorite sits too long. We try to get pizza when it just comes out of the oven. Portiona are very generous & we usually end up with a "doggie" bag. Another reviewer mentioned the differences in other locations.
