Bait and switch sleazy car dealer. Five days later, this car with a blown transmission, is still on the web.
    Kelly Ann M.

Classic Sleazy car salesmen. Don't buy a car from this dealer or their branch in New Britain. Classic bait and switch - I called about availability of a specific car I wanted to test drive. Because there was only a stock photo I asked the guy who answered the phone some questions about the car. He put me on hold and when he return he said "yes, I just checked the car, it has...(what I asked about)" I called back shortly after to make the test drive appointment for the same day. I called again when I was running late. They confirmed the car I was coming to drive and said "no problem. We'll have it waiting for you outside". When I got there the general sales manager greets me and took me inside. Introduced me to the guy who would take me for a ride. We get to a table to sign me in and suddenly the manager realizes "oh! That car JUST sold. They're signing the paperwork now." I could read him and immediately knew what was up. Blah blah blah... long story short. LIES. I asked to see the car. Suddenly he needs clarity on the car I made an appointment to see - after speaking with THREE people about that car. I tell him AGAIN. And he remembers that car has a blown transmission. Then, he wants to show me other cars. NO. I wouldn't buy a car from this dealer if it was $1. The car with the blown transmission is still on their website - FIVE days later. I would not trust a car from them. New or used. How they do one thing, they do all things.

I bought my car here in 2017, so ive been bringing it back here for every oil change. I will no longer bring my business here again. The last time i brought my car for an oil change here i waited over 2 hours for it to be done, for something that should take about 30-45 mins. Because of this, when it was time for my next oil change i brought my car to another garage to get the oil changed. It took these mechanics around an hour to get the drain plug out because Schaller screwed it in so ridiculously tight. The mechanics ended up having to go through great lengths to remove the plug. As a result i ended up having to get a new drain plug for it because they had to ruin the plug in order to get it out.

Told service coordinator no oil change was needed, For some reason technicians removed oil filter and overfilled engine with oil

Paid $700 on 1/9/2021 for 60,000 mile service that was not done! This service department scams people! They charge you for service that they do not do - SUPER UNSAFE!!!!!!!!!! They park your car and tell you service was completed when you drive away - They charged me $700 for 60k service, when I got my car back I noticed that fluids were not topped off - Looking under the car, the plugs required to check/change the diff fluid were corroded, they had never been removed - they still had the gaskets from the factory installed. Looking at my tires I realized that I had not given the service shop my lug key - There was still grime on the lug nuts and it was clear that they had not been removed for tire rotation, break bleeding, inspection of rotors/breaks/calipers etc. Looking around the engine bay, nothing had disturbed the grime that has accumulated over the winter - These guys are legitimately unsafe - They prey on people not checking their work - This service department is unacceptable and should be investigated. I doubt I am the only person they have done this to - These types of things endanger drivers and this negligence could have led to me getting injured or my car failing pre-maturely. This place is negligent, this place is not safe, this place does not care for its customers - Watch out - I will be filing a claim with the BBB and Subaru of America

How about cleaning that stubborn adhesive off the wheels before delivering a new vehicle?
    Lee Z.

Ad hoc operation When my new Subaru arrived at Schaller in Berlin, I was told it would be ready for pickup 3 days later. The first impression is the inspection, and the prep work was amateur at best. It's not clear what they did for 3 days. There was dried wax on the mirrors and hood, and even on the interior leather. The windows were clouded with swirl marks. The chrome wheels had generous amounts of sticky adhesive residue. The salesman seemed not at all concerned, as these were minor details easily overlooked. Then I had to sit through the video presentations for added services offered, which I clearly stated I had no interest in. But "it's mandatory", my salesman informed. Next was a tutorial on the vehicle's features and operation. Since I had already done my homework online before even walking in the door, this was another waste of time; not to mention my salesman provided inaccurate information since he was confused about the trim level I purchased. As you can imagine, when it comes to having my car serviced, I drive well out of my way to another dealership, since the management here is clearly asleep at the wheel or just focused on sales.

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?! My leather was conditioned not that long ago... Thanks a lot Schaller!

This was on Tuesday and the email confirmation said that they would notify me when the items were ready. This was for an in-store-pick-up. They never notified me. I called on Thursday and the boy who answered said orders are ready 10 minutes after you place them online, so mine should be ready, come by and pick it up. I went to pick it up on Friday and was told there was no record of my order and they don't have the items in stock. They deleted my order! This destroyed my plans to fix my motor on Saturday. The employee on the phone was VERY helpful and helped me feel confident that I made the right choice in dealing with them for the job. When I arrived, I looked around and was able to find most of what I was looking for. As I made my way to the counter, I figured getting the rest of the parts would be a quick 5 minute process. Strike one. The kid behind the counter was most likely a new hire, so I gave him a bit of a break. I told him what I was looking for, and he wrote down the key aspects of what I was saying. Normally that would be a good thing, but I was able to see what he was writing. Just as any other normal control freak would do, I watched what he was writing to ensure that he was going to bring me the correct parts for the job. Here's where strikes 2 and 3 showed up. If you work at a store that specializes in car parts, you should at least know about the makes and models of cars. For example, if a customer is asking about a Hyundai Elantra, you're going to want to know how to spell Hyundai as well as Elantra. When I saw him write down "Hounday Alantra", I lost all faith in this employee. My "short visit" turned out to be a 45 minute stop. I've shopped here in the past, and will most likely return in the future, but this has little to do with the staff. This facility always has what I'm looking for and is open fairly late to accomodate those times when you begin working on a car and either have forgotten to pick something up or have that untimely accident.

"Oh... Yeah. You get five dollars off the new one." And then she continue to tell me.... "the transaction is already completed. You'll have to come back tomorrow." And with that, she abruptly turned her back to go back to her register. SERIOUSLY? This is customer service? Come back tomorrow? I had no words. I was in awe of her lack of professionalism, and her curt comment. I just turned and walked my 40 pound battery out the door. We will not be going back to Advance Auto Parts in the future. Yesterday, one of the associates tested my battery and charged my battery but told me that since it wasn't holding a charge, I should come back today to exchange it under warranty. He placed a new battery to charge for me to pick up today. When I returned, I was assisted by Danielle, and the experience quickly went downhill. She was extremely rude, dismissive and unprofessional from the moment I approached the counter. She raised her voice, spoke to me in a belittling tone and outright refused to honor the warranty, even though I had all the information and had just been told by another employee to come back for a replacement. To make matters worse, she threw me out of the store, which was completely uncalled for. The entire encounter was embarrassing and infuriating. I left feeling completely disrespected and I can't help but feel that her behavior may have been racially motivated based on the way she spoke to and treated me compared to other customers. She even implicated the general manager, Dylan, saying that he is aware of her "behavior" and that he is ok with it. I had to send my girlfriend to the store to buy the battery instead of being able to exchange it thru my warranty. O'Reilly Auto Parts needs to seriously address this kind of behavior. No paying customer deserves to be treated this way, especially when simply trying to resolve a legitimate warranty issue. I've always gone to O'Reilly's for parts and service, but after this experience, I will not be returning to this location, and I will be warning others to avoid it as well.
