They were able to schedule us in surprisingly soon, give all the supply chain issues, and arrived and completed promptly. Our contractor called Tom to come and reset a toilet he'd installed during our remodel. A week later, Brad showed up an hour and a half after the appt time, spent 20 minutes, and charged $187 to reset the toilet they hadn't set properly in the first place. During the remodel, they routinely showed up late, and often didn't have the parts they needed. They definitely don't stand behind their work. Wouldn't every use them again... read more

Really unhelpful. My elderly mother's water heater isn't working, the hot water turns off after about two minutes. So Shefter sent someone out to take a look (charged a couple hundred dollars), decided they didn't know how to fix it, and said we should find someone else. We've worked with them before, and have had water heater issues throughout the time, They've never managed to fix it! found out today they never contacted the company about the warranty, and are claiming our entire water heater is "ruined" because we had some iron in the water for a couple months. They only said the water heater was ruined once we found new plumbers. They never advised us about this. Now they're being dodgy and evasive. Hire at your own risk. read more

I forgot to write a review after Schefer Radiant replaced our aging heating system boiler this past summer because we didn't need our system yet. But now that it's gotten cold and we are nice and warm in the house, I remembered why. Brad is third generation in the business and his uncle had installed our system originally decades ago. Another company had done a good job of keeping the aging system going for years, but it was finally time to replace it before it failed, and the full replacement was beyond them. We got several estimates, and Brad's seemed the most honest and knowledgeable. We spoke and he explained each item and part on the estimate and it's function, and it's cost. After he came out the first day and explained how things would be done, his crew came and did the work. They keep the area they were working in clean, and neat. They were friendly too. Along the way they explained everything they were doing. They went the extra step and put valves on either side each pump so if we ever need to replace one in the future it will be easy to remove. Once it was done, Brad came back out to inspect his crew's work and make sure I understood my new system. It's great to have a new energy efficient system and I would recommend Schefer to anyone who needs they radiant heating system repaired or replaced. read more

It's the little things - and hot water! - that count. When I described the problem we were having with our hot water and low water pressure, Tom knew exactly what I was talking about, diagnosed the problem, and gave us a solution that worked wonders. We thought we would need to replace our sixty+ year old pipes and, since we can't afford to do that anytime soon, we were feeling very discouraged. Now we have hot, running water - I will NOT take this for granted :) Tom also recommended and installed a thermostat that will save us effort and energy in the future. As soon as I moved into my new home, my radiant heating broke down. I started phoning plumbers and was amazed at how little they were interested in new business and the exorbitant rates they charged just to give an estimate ($145). But when I phoned TSP Plumbing, I was happy to find a whole new attitude. They were friendly, helpful, and I found out they are a small family business. Tom came and fixed my heating system 2 days later. He was very professional, and explained clearly what he was doing. The price wasn't cheap ($700) but he did replace the old pump and added a few more small parts to enhance the system, and altogether spent an hour and a half. . In a non-pushy way, he gave me some ideas and pictures of possible future renovations of my heating system and hot water heater. I would go back to TSP for future plumbing or heating work. We called Schefer Radiant about a year and a half ago to replace our 50 year old boiler. Tom and Brad were great. They were fast and efficient. It was so great to have our radiant heat working. A few months ago Brad came to do a routine inspection of the boiler and we asked him about getting air conditioning. He said that they could install a mini-split system. It has been wonderful to have air conditioning. The system works so well and has been very energy efficient.
