There's a plethora of coffee shops in the Old Town area, but this one gives me little butterflies in my belly. Schmooze has a friendly staff, great cold brew, multiple types of milks (yeah I like Oat Milk ya wanna fight about it), the food is delicious, and the vibe is nice. People are in there to get shit done. You can feel the entrepreneurship around you and it makes you want to focus and make yourself look like you're doing something really important. Schmooze is like a watering hole in the middle of the Saharan Desert, but instead of the wild animals, weird illusions and majestic desert hawks, there's real estate agents, psychedelic bar areas and people who look like they watch the office on repeat (nothing wrong with that I'm guilty myself). Oh, and the actual watering hole is filled with coffee...so you're in the desert wired AF building an empire on your laptop. Thats Schmooze for me and I like it. Food is great! SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!! We had a party of three, mid day Saturday. We ordered at the counter, right off the bat, the girl taking our order had a bad attitude, she didn't say hello, even after saying "hi how are you," she said "fine." Answered every question with "Yep." I went up to the counter at the end of our meal to ask for a to go box, I waited inline and when it was my turn a man cut in front of me and said he was just ordering a coffee. He was clearly a regular because the girl behind the counter got it for him right away and continued talking to him. I interrupted and said I just need a box, she proceeded to point behind the counter for me to get my own. We will not be back. read more

This is one of my regular go to spots for work/food/coffee. This place is colorful, work friendly, has GREAT food and a gorgeous outdoor area. There are desk areas, couch areas, tables, lots of plug ins and the inside is very spacious so you can spread out. The patio is huge, has a cute little pool that sets a calming atmosphere. Lots of standard coffee choices and all have been fantastic. The food is amazing. My favorites are the Salmon salad, the Egg BLT, and the Breaking Bad burrito. You can't go wrong with anything really. They also have a variety of pre made options as well. Strong wifi and just a great overall vibe in general. I just wish they stayed open longer!!!! read more

Love the product and the space. Rachael is super genuine in her customer interactions, and is very aware of social cues. They have bagels flown in from NY, and state of the art latte making technology/ and hand crafted beverages available. Enjoy the option to rent a space for focus groups. NOT PRICE EFFECTIVE. Warning: Basic avocado toast is just under $6 and a bowl of fruit for $5 contains 5 green grapes & 8 strawberries.... I gave 4 stars because the prices are launched for the quantity/ quality ratio, and though Rachael was awesome -the employee at the register did not repeat back the order resulting in - my friend receiving the wrong flavor in her coffee & they forgot the fruit bowl to be served. For a place that wants to charge inflated cost I recommend they focus on building on details of their customer service experience. I will go back to give them a second chance as this could be a one off experience with the employee. read more

This has been one of our favorite outdoor spots for brunch/lunch for quite a while but today when we took a friend there for his first visit to celebrate my husbands birthday we had no sooner sat at a table for 4 when the owner/manager came over and told us we couldn't sit at that table because he had a big group wanted our table. He sent us to a tiny table under the speakers but as 80 year olds we couldn't face sitting there. When we complained he asked if we wanted to do his job. Never met someone so rude. He then sat 4 people at the table he had taken us off and we moved to the other side and found plenty of empty tables. We stayed for lunch which took an hour to come and agreed that was our last visit. Our guest was appalled. read more

Burger didn't come with fry's so order those if hungry(actually not sure if they even have fries) Limited menu because of Covid but that's OK, we enjoyed what they did have. Really cool little spot in Old Town. I only came in to grab an espresso and read a book on a rainy weekend morning, and would definitely come back. I thought the espresso was great, the place had plenty of seating, but the music felt a little loud to read and relax. To be fair, I do prefer near library-like quiet when I read too, but that's not a knock against Schmooze. Can't accommodate everyone. That said, this would certainly be a spot I would use for a date with my wife or get some work done. This place is a joke, after ordering 2 coffees and an iced tea - 50 minutes later was told "we have a 60 minute time limit" and I needed to move to the back patio. I was in the process of ordering lunch but apparently that isn't ok. I asked him why if we're spending money why it was a problem and his response was "Coffee doesn't pay our bills". It used to be 2 hours of internet, now it's 60 minutes until you have to leave? They change their rules almost daily - BAD BUSINESS. Apparently only come if you want to eat and immediately leave. The second you walk in to the beautifully decorated patio area, this place screams decadence. You can literally make your standing desk a porcelain tiled ledge on a giant fountain (if you trust you won't knock your laptop in). The interior is tastefully decorated and you will wish they didn't just close at 3 PM every day. I have yet to see a coffee shop like it and refuse to take my clients anywhere else. read more
