Schnitzly is a great family restaurant. It's hard to find great food at a good price that is also very kid friendly. But these guys nailed it. Portions are generous, everything is super fresh and turn around time is still very good. They also have added feature of iPads along the walls so the smaller kids who can't sit still can play while they eat so the adults can converse without having to deal with petty fights and antsy kids. I've come several times just with my wife on "date night" because the food is really good. Only "con" is that since it's so kid friendly it doesn't have the cozy dim light ambience you might need for your anniversary. Very casual atmosphere. Overall A+ value ! read more

They try copying the place in Israel and fail. Their customer service sucks, maybe its because no one over 21 works there. My family seems to truly enjoy this place however I cant wrap my head around it. I have tasted all the different schniztles and the nuggets (which were soggy) their sweet potato chips were severely lacking and nothing seemed to jump out at me. Huge plus is thats its open late, so after a long night of drinking and I need something to eat before I go to bed, taste doesn't usually make a difference at that point, Ill go here. read more

This was my first trip to Schnitzly Schnitzel and found that they still need some work, but I see great promise if they make the changes. I was with a friend's family that included kids (who can be the most picky eaters). It was Sunday night and very busy, so when it came to order, we tried ordering a few different things to get a "feel" of the place. We ordered Garlic and Chili Schnitzel sandwiches, along with some different chicken fingers and the hand-fried potato chips. We also ordered a Pastrami sandwich and one of the chicken sandwiches. (We paid over $110 bucks for three adults and 4 kids) After ordering, we found it very hard to find a place to sit. They need to add more tables and chairs since we weren't the only ones complaining. After hovering over the tables, we found one and our food came. We were impressed by the size of the sandwich (about a foot-long) and we all dug in and started to eat the various things we had ordered. The hand-fried chips were totally tasteless and limp. They exchanged it for some onion rings which looked pretty small and pre-frozen. Later we also found them tasteless too. The kids didn't like the onion rings either (and I agreed). Next we tried the sandwiches and the chicken tenders. They were good, except the tenders all tasted the same, no matter if you picked the sesame, or garlic versions. The chili had the "kick" to it which was good. The Schnitzel sandwiches were also good but we also could not taste any differences in the different versions and they only included pickles and nothing else. I think that was because they never told us we had to hang around and pick out ingredients, but still, come on, add some lettuce and tomato as the standard sandwich! Next, came the pastrami sandwich and chicken salad. I personally didn't eat the pastrami or the salad but the other people I was with told me they weren't good. The salad was $15.00 and looks like they threw a bunch of stuff in with globs of sauces. It looked more like a kids art project (kinda a big mess), rather than a salad. They need to forgot tossing all the sauces in and let the customer add it themselves in addition to adding large pieces of lettuce and not the shredded kind used for the sandwiches. The pastrami was a very small amount in the sandwich and it looked pretty fatty. My friends only shared a half and left the other half on the table. The tenders were great with the dipping sauces and were chicken breast, so that passed. To sum it up, I would say they have a good thing going if they focus on a few things to improve. Drop the potato chips since they suck or season them and make them fresh every few minutes, make a REAL pastrami sandwich (stack it with plenty of meat and make it look good), get rid of the frozen onion rings, and start making your own fresh ones, don't serve salads with all that goop on them and lower the price (it's mostly lettuce anyway) and last, come-up with REALLY distinct flavor differences if you are going to have different varieties of chicken so we can REALLY taste the difference! I would say, if you go, forget ordering anything but the schnitzel. If you want a pastrami sandwich, go to Pico Deli and forget finding a seat since it's impossible at night. read more

I was very disappointed. I went in for the first time and got the chicken and fries combo. I ordered it at 6pm and asked for it to be ready by 6:30pm. I walked in to get my food and they had forgotten to put in my order so I had to wait which was the whole point of ordering it in advance. When I got the food home to try it, the chicken was gross. The fries were fine but nothing special. I had my 8 year old try the chicken and she couldn't eat it either. Waste of money and time. read more

We have been going to Schnitzly for many years, and recently now we go few times a week my kids love their food and I believe there is new ownership/management and it is much better service now. They even know us by name!! Food it's alway cook to perfection. It is a clean, friendly and family environment My sons LOVE buffalo nuggets and I love their salads and sandwiches For that person that did a bad review you can tell by her profile that she has an issue on every place she goes, so that speaks for it self to her character. read more

Wish i could 0 star this. I dont usually do this, but all you yelpers should be well aware of this nightmare they call a restaurant. The food was okay. I could honestly make anything on this menu at home, and not feel uncomfortable while doing it. We come and spend 45 $. They forget 3 sides. Each one of our orders was missing a side. And from my experience with shlomo, this sorry excuse of an employee, our complaint about 3 missing sides wouldn't really go far. Just a suggestion, spend your money elsewhere. I have never been talked back to by an employee until i came here. Also the hispanic employees need to understand that we all know spanish, and i can understand them cursing at me as i walk out the store. Absolute terrible customer service. While the place looks nice, the charm ends quickly after that. The young woman taking our order was short, snippy, and unable to answer basic questions (what is the soup of the day). The order ended up being wrong, getting that fixed was seemingly an impossibility. And when we asked for just a side of sauce because we couldn't get the right order, they gave us the wrong sauce. You have got to be kidding. A simple meal turned into a major hassle. At this point I cannot say if the schnitzel is any good, we both ordered some, but got everything but schnitzel...maybe schnitzel is an unreasonable request, not something the place is known for or anything ... doh. read more

I'm about to pay and notice they tried to charge me extra without my consent. When I inquired about it they wrote me off and were surprised that I complained. Terrible... I came in here around 12 am expecting a quick and easy bite to eat. As soon as I got to the counter the boy at the register treated me with complete disrespect. I approached him in a kind manner and he was rude, refused to look me in the eyes, and tried to rush my order so he did not have to speak to me for some unknown reason. He then preceded to give me the wrong order despite me ensuring what I wanted was extremely clear since I could tell he was not listening to me as I ordered. I politely asked if he could take the food back and give me my cash back considering he completely butchered my order and in response he raised his voice significantly and told me he would not do anything to help me. I left scared and upset due to the way I was treated. As long as the boy working the cash register on June 9, 2018 around 12:00 AM works at the restaurant I will not be returning. 24 hours later and I am still shaken up by the way I was treated. OK - the Schnitzls are fine, taste as you expect them too and price is what you expect for kosher fare. Portions are just about right. Atmospehere is fine and a mix of young people in teh evening, but the staff did not seem experienced nor too helpful. They had to make my sandwich twice to wrap it right. If they want to be a little different, they should perhaps offer Thigh meat schnitzl too or veal schnitzel. However, there seemed to be no difference in flavour between the garlic and the regular (i have a feeling when they deep fry it at such a high heat it loses all flavour). All in all wil come again when I fancy a Schnitzl wrap.If they want to be a little different, they should perhaps offer thigh meat schnitzl too (the only place in LA you can get kosher deep fried dark chicken meat is Chick N Chow) or veal schnitzel as the flavours they offer are just a gimmick. Really really wanted to like this place. I've heard some good things. Swung by for a takeout. Ordered the Dijon Schnitzel baguette and Lamb burger to go. Both with grilled onions, pickles, garlic mayo, chimichurri and ketchup. The menu is very extensive with loads of great sounding things so points for imagination. The schnitzel was close to burnt and tough. It had pickles but no grilled onions, no garlic mayo, no chimichurri, no ketchup.... okay. I wouldn't order the Dijon again. Next tried the lamb burger. It was tough and not very flavorful but at least it had all the condiments. Shouldn't lamb be juicy? I have the other half schnitzel baguette in the fridge but really don't fancy it, which is saying a lot for me. 2 stars instead of one for the creative menu. I have been coming here for about three years now, and I can honestly say the good here is consistently delicious. There is never a time where my order is poorly executed. The buffalo nuggets are exceptional and their dipping sauces are also delicious. Saturday nights are a bit hectic but coming here on a weekday to get something to eat is fantastic. Like most kosher fast food restaurants in LA, They started with nice model but then after a few years they are not following the same model at all. Their customer service is not like before. Yesterday, I felt it is either the owner that has changed or the same owner is so rich by now that customer service is not as important as a few years ago for him. So I am writing this review hoping the owner can read it, if he still cares about his business and hopefully make some changes and also for others to be informed before they take their valuable time on a weekend and decide to go there, especially with a few kids. So if you go there and you see this guy behind the register with a very thick accent (I think Israeli), just be very careful with your order. Do not make it complicated like whole-wheat bread, no onion, more onion, etc. Just make it as simple as possible because he does not even care what your specifics are, he just places the order and you just get what He Orders not what You Order. Then if you still get a wrong order, do not say anything because this guy will get on you and make you feel miserable. Just eat what you get. Take the onions out yourself. It is not worth to talk to this guy. Then, also take a few mask with you, I am serious. This young guy comes with torn jean and spray the hell out of every empty table and he uses PURE WINDEX. OMG, have you ever smell Windex mixed with food in a restaurant. Well, being so young and probably working for a minimum wage on a Sunday instead of going out with his friends' meant a lot to me. But please do not ask this guy to not use Windex at least while you are eating there because he will tell you, I DON'T SMELL ANYTHING!! OK, besides the jokes. I am sure these people are hard working and my two stars are not because how they talked to customers, acted or even dressed. My two starts are for the person behind the scene, the owner. Just basics in customer service (At Least In America) that he/she should trained his workers every day, even if they are working there part time Sundays only: 1) Customers are Always Right. 2) NO PURE WINDEX, of course, in restaurant business. Came Sunday night. The place was a mess. Ordered two wraps and a plate to go. The counter girl messed up our order and they forgot utensils, napkins and our dressing. Food was ok minus, def doesn't justify the price. The fries are frozen, and the side salads were not seasoned. If it's late and nothing else is open...food's not bad, but not worth the price (even for kosher). Service is...well, let's just say a 12 year old took my order and he had more of an ego on him than I do at 32. He hasn't lived long enough to have an ego that big. The sauces are great! read more

This place sucks. Don't take my word for it though. This is just too remind me that I'm no fan of schnitzel. The avocado rolls are super good and big. I just don't like chicken this much, especially breaded chicken. I tried to pick the most flavor packed option (Dijon baguette) and the kid at the register recommended the mayo blend but my sandwich was still bland as heck. Thankfully one of the sandwich makers blessed me with a little cup of mustard to drown my sandwich in so I could have a flavor of something. My friend's Israeli looked alright. The food is great for the value. Its open late, which is a plus and has other variety of items beside schnitzel. I really enjoy the buffalo nuggets but i feel like they started giving a lot less nuggets than before, which isnt really worth the price anymore. Its a good place to eat.
