The store is not the biggest but they have a little of everything for the most part. The store is clean and well kept. BUT Customer service here is shitty! I feel like even if you are not having the best day you should still be kind! Smile a little FAKE it! The ladies here are so rude (for the most part all of the ones I have encountered) the ladies at customer service are just as bad. They need to do a training on Customer service because it's getting out of hand. Just last night I was helped by one of the ladies that is pregnant, I totally understand that she's tired, and just moody because she's pregnant! But Regardless you are at work! Actually had an employee flat insult me. I was so embarrassed & furious by her inappropriate comments as well as several other customers and employees around us that heard it. I'm older but not old I'm only 43, she wasn't much younger than I yet she made a point to state it so rudely with no regard to no one around. I was pleasant and polite no questions just an easy check out. As for the rest of the employees I've had great & not so great but at least none have been unprofessional ever. This PX isn't what I had expected it be. They are more expensive than the Coast Guard. Imagine that! And Schofiled has more people than the Coast Guard. So sad. Example: I wanted to buy a portable AC for my bedroom and the Coast Guard was $100 cheaper. Thank goodness that I waited and shopped around first. I also thought that the PX would have a variety of items to see, BEEP, nope not what I had expected compared to the NEX. Sure, this place is no Ala Moana, or even a Target for that matter, but it's a good place to go if you need to grab a few things and don't want to go far from base. You can find anything under the sun in the Exchange, from TVs, to wine, to clothes, to diapers... I mean it really is a one-stop shop kind of deal. But beware- the prices aren't always lower than off base. The only pro is there is no sales tax. There are tons of places to eat here if you are looking for a bite, including the new Pizza Hut. I'd caution against going to the Starbucks if you can help it. They're frequently out of things (even good ole' regular coffee) and they charge for a splash of cold soy whereas traditional Starbucks stores do not. Plus, most days the customer service is lacking and the line is a mile long! read more

This review is specifically for the Barber Shop in the main exchange. I stopped going there about three years ago, because the service was poor, and the clean up between customers was practically non-existent. Several of the barbers were coughing heavily through thier masks, the chairs were not being wiped down, etc. (No, I don't want to sit in your post-PT flop-sweat during COVID) So, I thought I'd give them another chance. Mind you, I'm not terribly fussy about my hair, just taper it on the sides and neck, and take some of the length off the top. Too easy, right? The "standard" military cut. Well first of all, the price has gone up by like, six bucks or so. There are several public barbershops just a few blocks from my house that don't charge that. Most are $17.95 or so. The new pricing was $20.50. Yikes. Second, (and I think, like most people), just spend a little time cutting my hair. Not the slam-bam-thank-you gimmie money kind of service. I set the timer on my phone........I was actually in the chair 4 minutes and 48 seconds........efficiency is one thing, but butchery is another. Her clippers were dull, and pulled on my hair while she raked my scalp and neck. Then her clippers cut me. She nicked me just below my left sideburn during a "turn and burn" final clean up. No spray down with water and close trim, no septic wipe across the back of the neck and ears to temper the razor burn, nothing. I still had clippings across the bridge of my nose when I got out of the chair. And then she had the nerve to grumble when I put $0.00 on the tip line of my credit card reciept. I like picking up my online orders here. The customer service personnel are very helpful. Store is large with lots of selections and well stocked. That day I needed to use the restroom that's located between the AAFES entrance and the food court. I've been to that restroom numerous times and EVERY time I have I used it I've felt like I just gone to a large VERY public outdoor bathroom where you come out really feeling like you need a bath because you feel yucky dirty I called the number posted of the person to report the restroom is need of services. NO answer‍ Decided to go inside and ask for a manager and was accompanied to the customer service who got one of their managers to talk to. The manager was very apologetic the restrooms were not being attended like it should be and mentioned she'll definitely speak to the person in charge of housekeeping in the Aafes exchange of schofield. I'm truly hoping it changes because I've noticed this restroom trend not only there but their movie theater which unfortunately is even worse read more

This will be about the gift shop just inside the px - I typically do not like this px at all, but one place worth stopping at in there is the gift shop. They recently started selling bottle city hydro flasks (at good prices too!) I had just purchased two earlier in the week and had gone back to get flip top lids, only to see a sign stating they just started a promotion, but any flask get a free flip top. I was a bit bummed that I missed it and would have to purchase two of them.... So I asked the owner about it and not only was this man so kind and professional, he let me have them for free! Now I never expect things like this, but it was just so nice of him! My kids are begging for their own flasks so when I'm ready to purchase them I will only be getting them from this man You, good sir, just got yourself three more flask sales, three more lids AND three engravings because- let's face it- kids leave crap everywhere Highly recommend. read more

***Pre/During COVID-19 Visit*** My favorite PX in all of Hawaii. I always went here because it's away from everything. Less chance of seeing co-workers here on a weekend. Haha. The selection is wide and you'll find what it is that you're looking for. It's not as big as the NEX, but it definitely gets the job done. They have a food court outside, the barbershop and also a Starbucks which I often frequented. Just be careful in the parking lot because it can get crowded and you've got some distracted drivers out there. I always parked far by the Schofield Federal Credit Union. So as everyone has said this is the "little" exchange of Oahu. However I give it the more than mediocre star for two reasons. 1) Starbucks 2) you don't get the "pat down" like the NEX. I prefer to shop at the Pearl Harbor NEX because they have cheaper prices and better customer service. Unfortunately, my husband wanted a particular Bose headset that they didn't carry at the NEX so I thought I'd check out Schofield's PX to see if they have it in stock. I went to the electronics department where 3 sales people were standing around talking story. I asked if they stock Bose headsets. One lady said, "yes", and pointed to a general direction. She then proceeded to continue chitchatting with her fellow employees. Can you say, "customer service training?" Needless to say, I've never been back to buy anything else. read more

I went to the Barbershop last night to get a haircut. While I was sitting there in the waiting area, keeping my distance. I was just observing the workers and how unprofessionally they behaved. Talking on their cellphone while cutting a customers hair. Workers standing on the side to exchanging numbers with customers while other customers are waiting in line. Finally it was my turn and I was asked how would I like to have my hair cut? And I said to have the top cut evenly. When I got home and washed my hair, It ended up being more uneven than before. I don't see how AAFES can charge $20 for a cut. The last time I was there couple month the price was at around $15. Wow If you want better service and the same cut for less, go to the mililani barbershop. They offer Active Duty a great price. JS read more

Nicely kept. Obviously you can only purchase inside the department store if you have a military ID. But the food court is for anyone. They have regular prices. They have restaurants such as: subway, burger king, planet smoothie, anthonys pizza, Chinese... The usual military kind of foods. Don't eat the Chinese though! It sucks! They have a starbucks and other cute little vendors like a floral shop, accessory shop, GNC, UPS, hair cutting station for military men, etc. Prices are great! So take advantage if you have a military card. It's a couple parking lots down to the commissary & furniture store. read more

I come here often... last visit was on Black Friday at 6AM. Not that busy! Not too bad of an exchange... it's a lot smaller compared to the Navy Exchange or the Hickam Exchange, but it still offers a variety of the same items. Clothes, shoes, jewelry, makeup, perfume, handbags, toiletries, electronics, household items, etc. They have kiosk type areas outside which sell picture frames, sunglasses, balloons, knick knacks etc... They also have a food court which has Subway, Burger King, Anthony's Pizza, Starbucks, Planet Smoothie and a couple others... You need a military ID to make purchases in the Exchange. No sales tax! It's super clean and nicely organized... best thing is that it's not too busy because everyone is at the Navy Exchange! read more

Pretty standard for a PX. You can find clothes and kitchen stuff cheaper on the outside, but they are convenient when you're printing an essay for school and your printer decides you're out of ink and suddenly you can't find that spare stack of paper you need. I buy Greenies for the dog here, but I've never bothered to price match to a local store. I don't exactly shop here often, but it is there when I need it. DH likes to pick out the very largest TV and proclaim that he intends to buy it when his business trip is over. Hmmm, me thinks not. I have banned TVs that are longer than I am tall. I can picture us in Germany, squeezing past that damn TV to get into the kitchen. Or, I can see him crying in the parking lot as we realize that the TV didn't make the move in one piece. You know, because military movers are really careful with your HHG when you PCS. The only thing I truly hate about this place is the flat iron display they've place directly in front of the main entrance. I was blessed/cursed/whatever with curly hair and a total disinterest in standing in front of a mirror for 45 minutes to make it straight. I brush my hair and add leave-in conditioner, sometimes I can afford to go to the salon and get a proper cut and dye, I've experimented with the Brazilian Blowout, never will I ever waste time or money on a curler or a flat iron and add an extra hour to my morning routine. The guys that run this kiosk are like sharks in bloody water when I grace the PX entrance on the hunt for paper and ink. I'm at the point where I don't even acknowledge them and push forward briskly so they can't physically grab me and attempt to steer me into a chair for a "demonstration". read more

One of the worst exchanges I've ever been to. The shelves are never stocked so if you ever need anything, I can almost guarantee they won't have it. They only know how to do 1 type of cut and that is the standard military cut. If you like to have any flow and style this is not the place. This is for the nail salon in the PX. I have given them many chances with many different products and am disappointed almost every time. While they do give good pedicures depending on who does it, their gel polish and nails aren't the best. My gel nail chipped after two weeks which it shouldn't have because gel are supposed to be stronger. The nail also began separating from my actual nail not too long after a fill. The gel polish on top of the gel nails also started chipping after a week. I was told it lasted for at least two weeks. I like the convenience of the location being on base, but their products aren't the best. read more

It's an AAFES and with that said, it's the surroundings that make this a great place to shop...... for the Active and Retired Military, regardless of your branch of service. They have it all: Game Stop, GNC, Subway, Starbucks, and that's just some of the shops. There are always table after table of the local vendors who hock their wares and the outside has many options as well. There is a BBQ wagon and other foods, more wares and goods, and ample parking. It's a must-go-place when you're in the area for something to do or to get whatever you happen to need. read more

There are definitely better on the island. Parking between 1000 and 3 is horrible. There is usually a shrimp tent/food truck BBQing something tasty just outside and there are quite a few vendors with all the must have house knickknacks. I haven't been to the swap meet yet so I won't say go there....just yet haha. There is a small selection of stuff in this PX and sadly I recommend that if you have time just go to the NEX....Pretty standard food court and the highlight of the whole place is the Starbucks.
