I call this the The Schweiger Dermatology Empire. I don't do social media so this is not easy for me. 1) I got an email that Dr. Heller, my dermatologist of 30 years was back at the Broadway Midtown Office in NYC. I now live in Philadelphia. I was told that he was there only on Fridays. 2) I made an appt. It was confirmed. It was set for 12:30 PM and at noon a phone call came in that he no longer worked in that office. At that point I was already at Columbus Circle. I'm in my seventies now and this is not the easiest trip especially on a Friday. 3) I went into the office and asked to speak to the office manager. On the phone she said that I could see another doctor. I declined. Why would I travel to another city when I could find a new doctor in Philadelphia? She then told me that I could go out to Long Island or Middletown NY to see Dr, Heller. I explained that I do not have a car and that this would be impossible. I told her that I wanted to be reimbursed for the train. 4) I immediately went down to Penn Station and caught a train leaving for Phil. in five minutes. That fare was $86. I mailed a copy of the receipt. Where am I going with this you ask? 5) After several attempts I never heard another word from anyone. This past spring I sent Dr. Eric Schweiger, via registered mail return recept requested, all the information about this experience. There was no response. Receiving this small amount would have been a token of respect for me as the patient. I have only come away with, ignore the old lady and she'll go away. read more

Dr. Hamza Bhatti and the Schweiger Dermatology Group are tops, the best. For me, Dr. Bhatti performed an extremely delicate procedure, and the results are stunning, little short of a miracle: within three weeks, only a trace of redness, no scarring, likely fully healed and unnoticeable within a month. Further: Schweiger Dermatology offers comprehensive treatments coupled with teamwork and transparent communications. In my case, since I lead a public life, there was an intense time sensitivity to the work. Dr. Bhatti and staff (shout out to Katelyn!) stepped up, listened and came through, for which I am profoundly grateful. read more

I met with Dr. Kream and she was great, very pleasant and took the time to answer my questions. Heads up, they sent my scripts to the pharmacy they work with which quoted me almost $75 for 2 creams. I did a test claim with my insurance and if I were to fill at CVS those same 2 creams are less than $15. read more

1. On a mole scan, Dr. Kream first lifted the waistband of my underpants without asking before saying, 'I'm going to look here.' After I thought that part of the exam was over, she suddenly grabbed my undershorts and yanked them down, fully exposing my genitals not only to her but to her unlicensed assistant with no explanation. 2. She then stated that she was going to freeze some spots on my forehead. When I dared to ask what she had found she got condescending and chortled and said, 'I'll write it down for you.' Then I had the nerve to ask if the procedure would leave a scar. 'We're trying to keep you from getting CANCER!' (Some version of that was repeated as a non-answer to all my questions.) 3. The office forced me to use their preferred pharmacist, despite my repeated protests. I tried to reach out to her rather than post online about my experience, but she ignored me until I called the office manager then blamed me for the experience, claiming it was unique. The receptionists are beyond rude. They are similarly incompetent and made numerous mistakes with scheduling my appointment. I've waited an hour to see the doctor each time I am here. Dr. Jane Schneider is so pleasant, and the group is doing a major disservice to the doctors by not firing the receptionist. read more

Worst experience I've ever had in a healthcare setting. The staff were all horribly rude and condescending for no reason, when already the situation of skin is sensitive. The entire office from lobby to examination rooms were extremely hot and stuffy with no air flow whatsoever. There are no COVID precautions in place at all, yet there are signs in the exam rooms to keep your mask up at all times (which should probably be removed if they're not going to be enforced). There was an air purifier in the lobby that wasn't turned on and three people entered the tiny examination room unmasked and did not introduce themselves or explain what they were there to do. You shouldn't need a national mandate to protect the health and safety of your patients and your providers definitely shouldn't make patients feel ridiculous or uncomfortable when seeking care. Five stars for Alexandra Moench NP and her medical assistant-. It's not necessary to insist on an appt with one of the Drs. Alli is phenomenal- She's very knowledgeable, as I had to see her several times about a recurring skin condition. She doesn't rush and is very thorough with her exams and prescribing. In fact, they deal with a local pharmacy that is less expensive and has free delivery in nyc Two stars for billing and phone center- they've sent many incorrect bills, impossible to talk on phone. Also,there's no direct line if I had a question for my provider- the on line link has to be sent to you and it expires. I was lucky enough that Alli Moench reached out to me often after each visit and test but if I had to initiate contact, the message center refused to find her for me- at one pt, they had an assistant email me back- they refuse to find the provider you dealt with and constantly send out surprise bills read more

Stay away from this practice. They are crooks. Also very unsympathetic and disrespectful. It's all about money here. They slapped me with a $75 "no show". They NEVER confirmed my appointment 24 hours before it was scheduled. I had a DNC the day before at another practice (totally unrelated to dermatology)and was not well and bleeding a lot. I was out of it and in bed for 2 days. But never received confirmation of my appointment with Dr.Bahti for a consultation. A month later I get this "no show " charge. I desperately tried to plead my case and the staff and billing department. NO ONE wanted to hear it. What they do is criminal . The practice has gone down hill a lot since my beloved Dr. Seibt of 25 years retired. I found another provider thank God. They don't want to reverse the charge ? I'm taking it up with American Express with whom I'm a Platinum Member. Do yourself a favor folks. Stay away. read more

Really not impressed with this office. My husband visited for a soft mass on his head. They told him to get a sonogram and come back with the results so they would know how to proceed. When I called for a recommendation for a radiologist, they couldn't provide that. They also couldn't find my husband's records - they said they had changed software and lost some information in the process. Finally, when I asked them to send a referral to a radiologist I located, after being put on hold for an hour, they hung up on me, and when I called back, they said they couldn't do that either because they had no record of my husband ever being there. Needless to say, at that point, I told them I would just find another dermatologist. read more

Apparently they cannot bill the insurance company for an annual skin exam even if that is exactly what you went to the office for. So therefore, my insurance will not cover the visit without a referral. Their billing department has been incredibly difficult to work with. Don't go to Schweiger. read more

5 stars for PA Paria Torabi - 3/4 stars for billing/scheduling I've been seeing PA Paria since September, and she's honestly wonderful. She's very straight forward and doesn't give the runaround. I've been struggling with mild but persistent acne since I was in 6th grade (I'm now 30) and honestly was just fed up. My last dermatologist in the city told me they would not prescribe me Accutane because they didn't believe it was "bad enough". My first appointment with Paria I let her know my concerns and why I wanted to be on Accutane and the struggle I've been through with derms and everything I've tried (literally, everything you can think of). She actually took the time to listen to my concerns and agreed that we could start. The thing I like about Paria is that she is very prompt. I've had multiple problems with the front desk/scheduling/getting orders for lab work, but never issues with responsiveness from Paria herself. She goes above and beyond and has responded to each email within 24 hours, but generally much sooner than that. Sometimes it's been 11pm, over holiday breaks, vacation, doesn't matter - she's always responsive and truly there for her patients, and she does her best to work with you. This is a very time sensitive drug with appointments and lab work, she she made such an effort to work with me and ensure that we were always on schedule. Any question I ask she explains thoroughly, and if she doesn't know she will let me know that she'll research and follow up at our next appointment. I asked about a thousand skincare questions at my last appointment and she pointed me in the right direction on what to look for. This location is very clean and modern, no complaints with any of that! The medical assistants have all be great as well! Very friendly and talkative. The young man at the front desk the last few times I've been in has been very kind as well. Billing & scheduling is a different story - I've seen this in other reviews but they submitted to my insurance for a supposed mole removal that I never had done. I went to a previous appointment and they told me I owe $200, then had me call the main line. They told me what it was for, I explained that it wasn't me so they took it off. But the next 2 times I was still told I owed. I finally got it taken care of, but since I've seen it multiple times in other reviews, I'm not sure what the disconnect is here. Additionally, you can't call the office directly which I think is a pain. It reroutes you to a call center, and I had the WORST time trying to get scheduled and get a lab order (again, time sensitive and they don't understand that) - this is when I actually reached out to Paria directly and she helped me, but the call center was a nightmare. I did have someone named Ishmael reach out at one point and he was very helpful and able to get the lab work and appointments scheduled, but I think he may be a little higher up than the people I initially spoke to. So thanks Ishmael! Overall. Very impressed with Paria, I wish the backend stuff wasn't such a pain but regardless, I'm pleased with the service I've gotten. read more

I schedule appointments before work so it's nice that they open at 8 am. I also like that they have free samples at the office that they always encourage me to take and that the pharmacy they use delivers to your house either same day or next day! read more

Would give this place negative stars if I could. All calls for this place get routed to a call center, where they don't actually have access to the doctors' schedules, so your appointment time will get rescheduled. On top of that, because literally ALL calls get routed to a call center, it's impossible to ever talk to anyone at the office to get test results. Every time you call, the call center picks up because the office is "busy" and there is apparently no way to transfer calls over to the office, so you're stuck talking to someone who can't do anything but "help send a message to the office" to let them know you called. Somehow I doubt the office is that busy, since I've physically walked over while calling and the office was definitely empty / no phones were ringing off the hook. This is a shame, because the PA that I saw seems great, but the whole operation is such a nightmare. read more

There is only reason I drive from New Jersey to mid town Manhattan to the dermatololy office. And that is soley to see Dr. Sue Ann Wee. She has been our Dermatologist for over 10 years. You can never get in touch with the office. Like NEVER. When you did go in, they tell you, you won't see the doctor, you will see the PA ( don't mind PA's but I expected a doctor and wasn't informed ahead of time) After waiting 35 min for the PA, she was rushed and practically sighed everyone I asked a question. She seemed nice and knowledgeable. But you had to tease info out of her, otherwise she did not offer anything I did not ask about. I've been a patient of Susan's for years and, like many other reviewers, I've followed her from the FiDi office. She is truly the best! So knowledgeable, so caring from medical to cosmetic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who needs dermatology care! I am a transplant recipient and the anti-rejection drugs just seem to love to make SCCs and BCCs. I have been going to Schweiger for years for my annual (and more often) skin screenings and I just finished my latest string of Mohs peocedures. I highly recommend this place. Scheduling is always easy, the staff is great and I cannot say enough good things about the office manager who went well out of his way to help fix an appointment screw up that was almost certainly mine. I've seen several different doctors, PAs, and nurses since starting my visits and I haven't had a bad one yet. Five stars. read more

Maybe I'm new to this office structure but I had never been a fan of having PA's under the supervision of a Dermatologist give me my annual skin checkups. I always felt it was better to be seen personally by the actual doctor. However, my recent visit to Schweiger Dermatology has made me rethink this position. The PA who saw me, Susan Hirsch(under the supervision of Dr. Moraru), was just great! She took plenty of time pre-mid- and post-exam to answer any questions that I had. The biopsy of a suspicious looking mole she found(I've got lots of small moles and seem to acquire new ones every year lolz) was very quick and painless. I never felt that I was being rushed in any way which I have experienced in other offices. Her bedside manner was very comforting and it was clear that she was personally committed to my long-term health as well as satisfaction with that particular visit to her office. Hirsch's dedication to making me feel comfortable and well-taken-care-of is what I search for in all my healthcare professionals. I am very happy to have found her and will continue to go to her office for all my future skincare needs! read more

I was referred to Schweiger group to see a specific doctor who was unfortunately on Maternity leave when I called, and instead they recommended Dr Wee, and I'm beyond happy to have met her. Aside from being super intelligent and impressive (just go look at her resume), she is sweet and patient, and most importantly highly skilled. I did Fraxel with her as I had some sun damage and melasma. Never having done any major cosmetic treatments or peels before I was super nervous, and she explained everything in detail, including the precautions she was going to take due to melasma (lower setting), and just did a really nice job overall. Her assistant Melissa is just as lovely, and she patiently walked me through what was going to happen, and was courteous and took her time setting me up to calm my nerves. The procedure went great, the post procedure recommendations were on point, and I really liked my results! I am going back for a check up next week and will see if I need a second treatment (they say 2-3 are needed). Overall it's a great office, it's super clean and the staff is really nice. The only drawback is that there is some wait time but that's expected since I was the last patient of the day, and you can tell Dr Wee never rushes you, so it's mostly to provide excellent care! read more

These people are good doctors, I'm sure, and I believe they honestly care about their patients... but what they do not care about is their patients' time. They routinely run 20-45 minutes late, and don't really seem to care. I visited today, for what will be the last time, and met with the doctor at 4:15 for a 3:40 appointment. When I challenged him on the delay, he had the nerve to tell me that he's *very* in-demand and that I should see one of his less-amazing colleagues if I want to see someone who will actually show up on time. There are great doctors in New York City that have less attitude and less of a wait. I look forward to visiting them. read more

The most ridiculous visit I have ever had in New York City. Scheduled an appointment while the doctor suddenly become unavailable that day. Customer service called and said I can schedule for another doctor on the same day. Took a leave from work to visit the facility, waited for 20 minutes after my appointment time only to be told I can't see the other doctor because of my prescription. Asked if possible to see a doctor for a regular skin check, they said yes, waited for another hour and didn't get to see the doctor after all. Wasted 2 hours in the waiting area not even get to see a doctor. This facility should learn to respect their patients' time. The whole thing is just ridiculous and disrespectful. read more

I met with Tracy Gerson and she was phenomenal. I have crappy skin and a lot of dark marks from always popping my pimples. It was extremely easy to make an appointment, and they sent multiple reminders which I really appreciated. I felt my wait time could have been shorter (I waited about 15-20 mins after my scheduled appointment time), considering I showed up 10 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. My meeting with Tracy was brief but informational. In addition to the prescriptions, she gave me a bag of samples so I could get started on the new regimen while I waited for my Rx to be filled. I was not a big fan of the receptionist staff. They were loud and obnoxious. They were much more interested in talking among themselves instead of helping everyone with appointments. They also submitted my visit under a different location which is not covered by my insurance. I think a little more structure and attention to detail would eliminate careless mistakes and make the overall experience more enjoyable. I did not appreciate having to be on the phone with my insurance for over an hour to get everything sorted out. read more

I appreciate Yelp at times like these as it gives me an avenue to caution others of places like Schweiger Dermatology. Lack of organization, no regard for patient's time, poor patient treatment experience, and so unnecessarily expensive. 1. I spoke with the billing department over the phone before I booked my appointment to confirm pricing with my insurance. When I got there, they asked me to pay much more than what billing told me and when I said that's impossible I already confirmed this with billing. I told them the time and date of my call but there was nothing they could do. 2. When I got there on time, I waited up to 50 minutes to be let into the doctor's office and waited a bit longer in there before finally seeing a doctor. 3. The doctor was clearly well-accomplished but I didn't sense he was truly listening to me and prescribed a multitude of exams and medications other dermatologists (I later went to) said I did not need in their opinion and was unnecessary at this time. Finally a month later, I was charged $250 for "30 minutes" with Schweiger's doctor when I only spoke to him for 5 minutes actually. read more

This office has no regard for people's time. During a procedure that requires multiple steps, I sat in the waiting room and was completely ignored for over 90 minutes so they could see other patients - I should have been seen after 45 minutes as promised. When I was in the room, the doctor rushed me through my procedure. This place seems like they are trying to maximize patient load to get more money than provide good health care I've been a patient for almost 10 years and now I'm done - I won't come back again! read more

As much as I would love to continue going here because I love Dr. Heller, I can no longer compromise the wait times. It doesn't matter what time you go -- I've tried middle of the day, early in the morning, after work, and I've always had to wait at least 20-30 (and up to 45-60) mins to be seen for my appointment. It's a complete revolving door in there and they just simply book too many to be able to keep up. I brought up the crazy waits to the admin staff the last time I was there and the office manager said they have a "system in place to resolve the issue within the next 6-7 weeks" but I don't get what that "system" is going to be if it's not simply scheduling less appointments. It's a shame because the admin staff is great and Dr. Heller has really improved my skin, but I just can't justify spending more than an hour in this office every time I schedule an appointment for only less than 5 mins with the doctor. read more

I recently came here for a small issue. The doctor I saw was great, and everything was running on time. The facility seemed very clean and was following COVID protocols. I also appreciated that the person I spoke to on the phone prior to making my appointment was upfront about what the copay would be. I would definitely return here if I had a future issue that required a dermatologist. read more
