Thank you so much for staying open during this crazy time. The 8 1/2 in the fan opened up again a couple weeks ago, so my husband and I decided to take the crew to pick up food to go. We didn't realize Scoop was literally right next store to one another. How could we leave without some ice cream. So we are lovers of Gelati Celesti... but Scoop gives it a run for their money. My husband asked what the best was and they said "Oatmeal Cream Pie" .... can I just say wow... seriously the chewy crunchy cookies within the ice cream amazing. It reminds me of the Oatmeal Cookie that Ben and Jerry's discontinued many years ago but better as it tasted like fresh cookies added to the ice cream. The ice cream also had a good cinnamon flavor to it.... seriously Ahmazing!!!! My husband also bought a chocolate chip blondie for us to split on our way home. Perfect crispness on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Overall, great first experience... the reason why this was a 4 and not a 5 is because of how the pint was filled. You will see in the picture I attached we were probably missing 1/4 pint if not more if we smushed it down. In my book Gelati Celesti does a way better job in filling pints ok the spot when you decide to buy one. Second issue is that a pint is almost $10 hiked up more because it wasn't pre scooped... you can get a pint from Gelati Celesti for ~$7. Regardless, I would definitely come back... would love to go when this is all said and done. If I buy a pint I'm definitely going to check that it is filled appropriately for $10!!! read more

I had a sampler trio this most recent time to sample three of the flavors. There was a nice array of fruity/chocolatey and classic/inventive flavors that were fun to try. As always, I try to find the best ice cream in whatever city I am in. Heard a lot of good things about this place for a while now, and it indeed lived up to the hype. I went in the early afternoon on a Saturday and they were not busy, I was surprised. Was able to take my time and sample a couple flavors before ordering. I am an ice cream maker myself, and I think I am going to steal some of their flavors! I've tasted the Earl Gray ice cream flavor and the Tahini and Halva - both of which are off putting at the first glance, but are absolutely delicious in the most unexpected way. During my most recent trips to Scoop, I tried the Blood Orange Creamsicle flavor and the Sea Salt Chocolate Malt flavors, and I was blown out of the way. Scoop has been on my Richmond "must try" list for a while. I see their ice cream menu and their fun flavors are intriguing and mouthwatering. On a beautiful fall day we took the trip to Scoop and I am so glad we did. The menu may look mouthwatering but the ice cream itself was on another level entirely. It was creamy, packed with flavor, and absolutely hit the spot. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to try them. The service was quick. COVID restrictions were being followed by employees and customers alike. The Sweet Corn and Blackberry was nothing short of amazing. Not pictured was the mint ice cream. I was hesitant to try it because I have had fresh mint in my ice cream before and wasn't a fan, but Scoop really nailed this one...it was perfectly minty and not weird and herby. Overall a very solid ice cream spot in Richmond! I hadn't thought of this since covid, but a major part of getting ice cream is trying samples to find your perfect flavor. It's tough to rate an ice cream shop right now because I took a gamble on 2 flavors and ended up only liking one of them, but that's 100% not scoop's fault. The woman helping us was very friendly and helpful. I got the croissant & jam (not my favorite, the jam was barely noticeable flavor wise) and the brown butter cookie (aaaaamazing). While I didn't love one of my flavors, I would definitely come back to try more flavors. I did really appreciate being able to get a single scoop and splitting it across 2 flavors! read more

i had a poor experience with an employee on 4/22 at 9pm. i've literally only left one negative review before in my life so i never do this. she was tall, dirty blonde long hair in a ponytail, in a tan hat with a navy brim. she was rude and short to me and my friends, and we went for my partners birthday. every other time i have gone to get a single scoop in a waffle cone, my cone is filled to the top and there is ice cream in the bottom. my cone was over an inch empty at the top and i'd argue 2 inches empty at the bottom. i'm literally holding onto the leftover of my cone to put my own ice cream in, that's how much empty cone i had left. meanwhile everyone else i saw getting waffle cones was getting there's filled as usual. i don't know why i got skimped out when i paid the same price as everyone else. very disappointing. the part of my cone in the picture is literally bone dry because there was no ice cream even touching it. read more
