These cupcakes are to die for delicious!!! And nut free! Which seems insane to me - peanut and nut allergy friendly! The pictures here on Yelp do not do these cupcakes justice at all. I would normally be turned off by a place that lacks variety, I mean, choosing your flavor is half the fun! But scottcakes is the exception! Their vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting is so fresh and delicious, you will probably go back for a second one. Sometimes cupcakes are too rich, heavy, overly sweet, and ultimately nauseating... But not these! They are surprisingly light, fluffy and incredibly satisfying. Being a baker myself, and one who does his cakes and frostings from scratch, I am very hesitant when any bakery labels its signature item as "the best." Sometimes, they live up to the hype; often, that's not the case, unfortunately. That being said, ScottCakes does its one item, a vanilla cupcake with pink buttercream frosting, very well. Was it the best? No. I do think they are very good. I didn't think they were the "moistest" cupcake I have ever had. That being said, I do think they are very good. Last summer was the first time I had a Scottcake. Me and my sister drove from Hyannis to Provincetown to grab one because of all the hype we heard. When we got there it was closed, but Scott was generous enough to let us in and give us a few cupcakes. They are delicious, some of the best on the go cupcakes you will ever have. They're so rich and filling and me and my sister fought each other for the last bite. Good luck to Scott and his kindness! oh and ps, $3 isn't bad considering you'd spend more than that for a cup of coffee anywhere else. My friend is obsessed!!! During our week in Cape Cod we ended up there each time we went to P-Town. I never eat vanilla cake. If I'm eating a dessert it always (I should say almost always) has chocolate in it... usually chocolate in chocolate on chocolate. I didn't really want to try a vanilla cupcake but he insisted they were the best cupcakes he'd ever had, so he bought me a mini and I tried it. Box mix or not, these cupcakes are delicious, seriously delicious I've tried all of the bakeries that claim to sell the best cupcakes ever, including Magnolia Bakery (NYC), Georgetown Cupcake (D.C.) and Hey Cupcake! (Austin). Most have proven to be disappointing for various reasons. I do agree with Oprah that the sweet and salty cupcake from Baked NYC (Brooklyn) is the best cupcake the U.S. has to offer. It provides an out-of-body experience. That said, I buy cupcakes from ScottCakes every summer because I'm in P-town for Bear Week and they're impossible to resist. Moreover, these cupcakes are moist and delicious. So please explain to me what is wrong with baking only one flavor combination and doing it well? ScottCakes, don't mess with near perfection! Well I just got back from P'Town and last night was my first time experiencing ScottCakes cup cakes. All I have to say is Ummmmmmmmmmmm UM!!! We heard Scott's story from a friend and that was great by itself. But the cupcakes were fantastic! We had the minis and I must have eaten about 5 of them.
