I do NOT recommend this dealership. I purchased a CT5 in April. I've already needed to bring my car back 3 times for defects (check engine light, reduced acceleration warning, and inoperable features). For context it is currently June 21. Before we purchased, we asked if curtesy vehicles are provided for service appointments and we were told "of course". Yet every appointment I'm left without a vehice (for days at a time, one appointment was a week). I currently have my car back yet I still have inoperable features. Waiting for a call back for more parts to arrive. I should not have these issues with a new car, and because I was sold a defective car, one would think the dealership would try to smooth things over by at the very least providing a loaner vehicle. read more

I usually park my car in the garage, so I don't often see the garage floor. The other day I parked in the driveway and ran in to retrieve something. In doing that, I noted that there was a patch of oil underneath where my car usually sits. Not wanting to cause any damage to the car and not being mechanical in any way, I simply drove to Scranton, without an appointment to have them look at it. (FTR, I did buy my car there and always have them service it.) They took me in right away, put it up on the lift, and serviced it. (Something about torque that meant nothing to me but apparently needed to be done to the oil filter.) I was there for maybe 30 minutes and then I was on my way. Oh, did I mention that in that 30 minutes they also washed and vacuumed my car? Yup, they did that too. Another "bonus?" They didn't charge me a cent. Sure, bringing a car to the dealer for service may cost more than a quick change oil shop, but they won't take care of you when you find yourself needing help. read more

I recently bought a new 2024 Yukon XL AT4 from Steve. I knew what I wanted and they had it in stock. I don't mind the task of buying a vehicle, it's the time sitting in the dealership that makes me frustrated and uncomfortable. I went to look at the vehicle and the staff was quick to get it cleaned up and ready. I was comfortable leaving a deposit that night. I got a call the next day to send pictures of my trade in and he promptly called me back with a finished offer that was better than I expected. I was able to do all the dealings over the phone, even secured financing. On my next visit I signed and they were working on the registration for me. I ran into a hiccup with the registry, but they were able to help me navigate. They had the vehicle registered and ready to go for me first thing the next morning. Definitely should've read reviews before hand. Although I like the vehicle, some details would deter me from ever shopping here again. 1. Interest rate was very high and not told to me until half way through paperwork. 2. Battery on my vehicle died just two weeks in and the auto stop/start function stopped. Ship looked at it twice and said they couldn't find anything wrong. I was told all sorts of stuff like there's a lot of electronics in there and its hot and humid out. But it worked when I first got the car? 3. Salesmen promised me mats for the car. I asked him three times and he gave me a run around. 4. After a week I still didn't receive my security deposit which I had to go in to get back. 5. Just saw that the compartment lock latches in my tailgate didn't sit properly and are chewing away at the housing. 6. My bill never came so I asked them what to do. I got a text saying to call TD. When I asked for the account number or any other info I may need. I was given no response. 7. I was never explained anything about the car, especially all this infotainment stuff and later realized that I need to agree to a whole bunch of nonsense data collection to be able to use it. I probably would not have bought the car If I had known all that. Small details pile up. read more

They also did a full safety inspection and was told that my 5 year old Sierra needed $6500.00 worth of service to make it road worthy. On 8/8/22 I brought my car in for a rough idle at 10am for a 10:30 appointment my service advisor David Rogers said that it takes 1 to 2 hours for the diagnosis. At approximately 5 hour later I received a call saying it was a bad motor mount. I told David that I had the motor mounts replaced about a year ago. David claimed that the technician said that the right side motor mount looked brand new but the left side was not replaced at the same time which would mean that it was original as I have owned the car since it was a year old. I told David if this solves the problem than go ahead and fix it and I want the old part and I need everything documented so I can go after the car repair shop where they charged me to change both motor mounts. David told me that the car would be ready the next day. The next day at approx 3pm I received a call from David saying the car would not be ready and that the tech go's home at 4pm and did not want to rush him, frustrated there was nothing I could do. 8/8 I called to check on the repair, David said he would check and call me back. David called back and said the car was ready and I picked up the car at approx 11am. David said that the motor mount locator pin had been cut and that it must have happened when it was installed, these are Davids words, not mine. Needless to say I paid 1076.66 and there was absolutely no improvement and I felt that I got taken. I was very suspicious that if the part they replaced was the original than I should have noticed the problem years ago. The only advise I would give is don't used these people for service and if you do get a second opinion!! On 8/11/22 I called and left a message for David to call me. On 8/15 Scranton motors emailed and said that David would call me that day. As of 8/22/22 I have yet to hear from David Rogers or the service manager. read more

Bought 2 used cars off the lot within 6 months apart . Both cars about 55k miles on then . Car 1 only made it to the highway started jerking and bucking had to be fixed right away , took about 3 days , got a rental . Car #2 had fir 3 weeks AC blowing hot air , steering wheel assist off . Service person told me AC did not work because I didn't hit the AC button . Had to explain everything was turned off because I was afraid I would overheat/ damage engine. Service man replies " oh ya , we need to replace the thermostat that would effect AC." When my car is waiting to be serviced I get a text message asking if I would like upgrade or trade in my vehicle. Never was I offered a loaner vehicle. And to top it all off after a call to complain about all above mentioned, I pick up my vehicle and my work badge I left in the spot I always leave it at is now gone. Do not buy a car from this dealership, Purchased a used car from them in May 2021 mileage was 21,347, about 1-2 weeks later I noticed the rear tires tread wear was low, the front tires had very good tread, I called scranton motors and requested new rear tires only, they declined my request stating they only have to "make the car road worthy" I was also told the depth of the treads of the front tires and the rear tires ( they were different depths. ) Why would a car with only 21, 347 miles have different tire wear. I filed a complaint with GMC headquarters along with the BBB. About 1 month ago the car had an oil leak once again I called scranton motors and spoke with Ashley in the service department whom was the only resonable person there that I dealt with, I took it to a repair shop close to where I live and they said it was the oil pan, I then took it to a reputable GMC dealership close to where I live, it was the oil filter that was leaking, and had a complete oil change done (mileage 21,788) On 08-16-2021 I received a card in the mail from scranton motors which had my vehicle health report: INDICATORS THAT YOUR TIRES NEED SERVICE, Tire has excessive wear or damage to the sidewall, Tread is worn down at or below the "wear indicators." Uneven treadwear causing noise or vibrations. Mileage 21845. Once again do not purchase a vehicle from Scranton Motors they do not care about the cars they sell nor do they car about customer requests concerning the safety of the cars they sell, they're only looking for the sale of vehicles. And one other thing I asked before I purchased the car I do not want a donut for a spare, I want a full sized tire...what did I get a donut. 09-01-2021 mileage 21873 drivers side rear tire went flat overnight sitting in the driveway, brought to tire shop for a new set of tires, spoke with Scranton motors as recommended they solve absolutely nothing, had car for only 500 miles and needs new tires, this dealership does not even deserve 1 star. read more

Ok so I purchased a Cadillac Escalade from Scranton Motors's in Vernon Ct. in November. I gave them raving reviews for their streamlined purchase and negotiation process. But their service department is worthless. So what good is purchasing a vehicle there if they don't stand by their product. Their service manager Rob should be fired for how they treated us. I am now dealing with a different Cadillac dealer hopefully I will figure this out. A lot of the very bad reviews I saw and I brought to their attention they had an excuse for. I will start by saying for the last 10 years I have sung the praises of this dealership - as my ex husband purchased a truck from here years ago. I leased a new Acadia in 2013. Have had nothing but wonderful experiences dealing with the service department - truly all of them have been phenomenal. Which is why I am giving one star. Fast forward to my lease being up and I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a place of business in my life. I sent a long email to the management detailing my concerns - which was never even responded to. Have spent countless hours trying to work with them because I have always liked Scranton. I am now done - after wasting another three hours of my life trying to come up with a car solution I am now faced with 1,000's of dollars of debt - NINE to be exact....and no vehicle. This was the worst car buying experience I ever endured and have been frauded by the Sales team selling a car that was damaged and not advertised that way or advised of any damage. We purchased car out of state and agreed to the full advertised price as shown in Auto Trader. It took them 3 weeks to complete transaction. In the end I had to endure all the work and costs of getting docs overnights to them, arrange for shipping, and when the car arrived it had visible paint removed from vehicle. This was supposed to be a GMC Cerified Car only 1 year old. I asked in good faith both the salesman and sales manager to advise me of any visible damage to car, and they both said it was in perfect condition with no scratches or damage. No respect customers time. My experience with sales was disappointing. The sales person Emma and Laura were a no show for scheduled Tuesday appointment. When I showed up for my appointment no one at Scranton knew I had an appointment. I ended up waiting for a test drive, then waited to find out if they had an extended cab in stock, after 20 minutes of waiting I left due to another appointment. My latest correspondence with Laura was on a 2015 canyon left over. She gave me a quote on a canyon that did not meet my original request for a 6 cylinder, 4x4. She gave me a quote for a 4 cylinder. Hands Down best dealership in CT. I shopped around for about 6 months looking for a new vehicle. I ended going with a brand new 2012 GMC Sierra 1500, and love the vehicle. I recieved no pressure to buy and they helped me get exactly what I wanted. The owner Matt, is awesome and his sales team led by Sam Suminski is definately top notch. Now when ever i go in for service, they know me by name and I can actually call them friends. Last week I wanted to have a remote start installed but couldnt find the time to get the vehicle over to them. They volunteered and actually came to my house and picked the truck up, did the work I wanted, returned the truck before i was home from work , and it was cleaner then when they picked it up. Scranton caused over $3,000 of damage to my vehicle. They also charged me for unauthorized service. I filed a complaint with the DMV and they lied to the DMV. I have since learned that the proper place to file a complaint is the Department of Consumer Protection. Too many other issues to list here. AVOID! Also, check the CT Court system website to get more info about them so you know what you're getting into. They have been sued multiple times since 2018! read more

How many words do I get? This is the most dysfunctional dealership I've ever dealt with. I own a fleet of vehicles and have 50 employees in a tree service of a size similar to Scranton Motors. Maintenance, repairs, customers, personnel, communication and acting professionally in business is something I'm very familiar with. They took 3 weeks for a minor repair of a vibration on an $80k Denali and it still isn't fixed. Part of the problem was using a third-party warranty called Ally which was the only extended warranty this dealership could sell. Ally delayed inspecting the vehicle and Scranton was not concerned about that at all. I even gave the dealership an opportunity to give me a trade-in on this vehicle and buy a brand new one but they said they could not do that until repairs were done. End result, LOST SALE. After sending a very thorough email with my dissatisfaction to the owner, Meghan, I did not get any answers from the general manager nor her, BUT the service manager called me and just said "bring a your vehicle back to our dealership". No thanks as this process started 5 weeks ago. Additionally, 3 months ago, Scranton also took one month took replace a transmission on a used Chevy Tahoe I bought from them less than a year ago. This vehicle was also under warranty. The dealership could improve by communicating not only with the customer better but with themselves I would give them a zero out of five. I was very disappointed to find out that no one would return an email other than the service manager. I had to call and ask a day later if the owner or ANYONE even received my email! If I could give them less than a star I would! I bought my Buick from Parsons in Plainville, they were wonderful! Unfortunately they have changed hands so I have had to go to Scranton's to have repairs done on a car that I have an extremely great warranty on. The issue is is that Scranton is not fond of the fact that they won't make enough money off of me because I only need to pay $100 deductible with my warranty so instead I get lies that my car is unrepairable and that all parts to my car are discontinued... How does this make sense to anybody it doesn't! They are con artists and don't really give two craps about anybody that walks through their door all they see is dollar signs and if they don't get it from you then they don't want anything to do with you. I would never buy or lease or go to Scranton for repairs on a vehicle ever again. My thought is always to support local business but I will never support them! When speaking to my warranty company come to find out Scranton's only wanted to use GM parts on my car when others were available so instead of contacting my warranty company again to discuss they just told me that my warranty company would not cover or that the parts were discontinued. At delivery, I was in and out within an hour in my beautiful vehicle. I had a slight issue with the vehicle within a month of purchasing it. Purchased an Infiniti from them 2 years ago after trading in my CTS. Didn't have any issues until today when I was preparing for a cross country drive and removed the spare tire to find trash and bills and cap from the previous owner. Learned my car was from Alaska which is cool, but kind of gross you don't thoroughly clean cars before selling. I own a construction company and bought my first vehicle from Scranton 8 years ago. It was in the middle of the winter and they were able to get my new truck ready with a plow installed before the next snow storm. The transaction from start to finish went very smooth. As my buisness has grown over the past few years Scranton has been very accommodating. I have purchased 11 vehicles in the last 8 years new and used. The service department has been great keeping my vehicles on the road and always offer alternative transportation when being serviced. Bought a Cadillac CTS from them in 2008. I've only had good interactions with them. Sales person was polite and efficient during the purchase. Their financing rep got me financed with a minimum of hassle(to be fair within 15 minutes). Really, I said " I would like this car",..... and about an hour later drove home with it. Their service department is GREAT, and make an effort to get your car serviced quickly, with reasonable prices. Generally I have been able to get an appointment within a day, and they have managed to get me serviced on the rare occasions I show up with out an advance call usually the same day. Awful customer service whether it be the sales department or the service department. The first time I went to this dealership to look at a vehicle the sales woman asked me why I would even come look at a vehicle at their dealership. That should have set me off to begin with but I decided to go to a different sales person to purchase the vehicle I wanted. After getting the vehicle home I found three different things wrong with the vehicle so I called the dealership to have them repaired. They had my vehicle for four days and when I finally was told the vehicle is all set I went there and they did not fix any of the things that was wrong with it. They told me that the things wrong with it are normal and there was nothing they can do to help me. The biggest thing that was supposed to be fixed was the Bluetooth and my radio not working correctly. They did not fix that. Another big one is the back of the seats blow hot air onto my daughters legs when I have the air-conditioned seats on. I am unable to use them because the heat burns her legs and I will not let that happen. They are an awful dealership and I do not recommend anybody going to them. read more
