I had everything I own stolen from two separate units…read more I stored my belongings here for over 20 years, paying roughly $40-50k over that time. In the end, about $50,000 worth of my property was stolen from my two units, including irreplaceable items from my late father and grandparents, original artwork, and a career's worth of work samples (50+ snowboards). Their cameras only cover the outside of the buildings. Other storage facilities advertise interior cameras as a safety feature; this one doesn't have any. The front gate regularly allows multiple cars to pass through with one code entry, and the building doors themselves don't require an entry code or are usually propped open - essentially, anyone can enter the property and the buildings with zero verification that they should be there. Their website and payment system make you re-enter your payment information after you've already entered it and clicked confirm. I spoke to them about this numerous times, explaining that it's confusing; no retailer ever makes you reconfirm a purchase. Their response was that they didn't want people double-charged. I'd much rather be double-charged than robbed blind. Read into this however you like, but only my wife, myself, and their staff knew I had these units. I generally came midweek/mid-day and was careful not to leave anything of visible value in the hallways. My units were across the building from each other, and there was no obvious way for someone to know which units to target. My theory - and the detective on my case agreed it was plausible - is that I forgot to confirm my payment on their website one time, sending my unit(s) to pre-lien status. I paid the moment I got the notice, but the damage seems to have already been done. The thieves went through every single box in one unit, but stopped a third of the way through the other, leaving thousands of dollars of stuff untouched. Why? It's almost like they were told to stop for some reason. Maybe after a payment was made? When I reported my theft to the front desk, one employee was genuinely shaken, but the manager had an unmistakable "oh, sh**" look and showed zero surprise that I'd been robbed. To make it worse: insurance requires receipts and proof of ownership for decades-old belongings, much of it from people no longer alive to help me prove what I owned - capped at $5,000 on a $50,000 loss. Two decades of trust, gone. The place looks nice, but not everyone has a nice experience. I left one star, I wish I could leave less.

When I first signed up for this space it was because it was a good deal. They really only gave me that deal for the first month, We finally decided to move out after receiving yet another rent increase -- three increases in less than two years is honestly ridiculous. It felt like every time we turned around, the price was going up again. On top of that, basic convenience was an issue. The trash and recycling bins are consistently locked, which makes no sense when you're actively paying for a unit. If I'm renting space there, I should be able to throw away small amounts of trash without it turning into a whole ordeal. The customer service was the final straw. When I went to clear out my unit on 3/21/26, I brought a small bag of trash (just hangers, dryer sheets, etc.). I walked into the office and was immediately met with a rude, dismissive attitude. The employee looked annoyed from the start, questioned me about what was in the bag, and made the whole interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable. It didn't feel professional at all. Overall, between the constant price increases, lack of basic access, and poor customer service, this place just isn't worth it. I'm relieved to be out and would not recommend renting here.

Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

I've never been this satisfied with someone else's hard work ethic in this exact standard of excellent customer service in my life... Let me tell YOU a story... My name is Executive Chef Robi Kerry, I've worked my tail off, working 16 hour days, in a hard working industry, for over 20 years... I've worked with 1000s of people in my life, met every work personality type in the books, I've hired and fired countless co-workers in my day. A chef knows hard work when a chef sees it.... I have to say... I stand in awe of the work that SD Mini-Movers did for me during one of the most challenging Moves of my life...not just once, but twice! (Anthony and Ryan were the two gentlemen SD Mini-Movers sent to me)...Here is my story... Long story short, I had to move all my belongings (by Myself)... in less than a month... I had to move/pack all my belongings, work 12-16 hour days, in a very busy hotel, take care of my parents farm, and makes sure my little high-schooler safely got to school. I knew I needed help...I didnt even have time to pack, nor the money to pay for a long day of moving, nor the strength or personal time to get this done. So I called SD Mini-movers, a beautiful lil outfit, which I later heard is quite the prominent local family run business.... 1)I got the number off craigslist... They promptly called me from the office to schedule my time. They were nice, understood my work load, spoke perfect English, and were able to get movers to my home in less than 48 hours...Which is phenomenal if you are in a time-crunch with limited time... The office guys did a fantastic job... Chef is proud of you guys! 2) I explained I had no time to pack up... they said no problem! They brought with them all the tools needed to disassemble furniture, work on Computer Issues, were able to take down an extreme amount of decorations, Anthony and Ryan were equipped to do it all! They went to work immediately, with a calm and professional manner... I personally would hire these guys for any hard work like this for the rest of my days 3) I had soooo much work on my shoulders... I hadn't been home in a month... There were dishes in the sink... gnats flying about the place, and a smell hardly worth mentioning without grossing most people out... Almost nothing had been done, it was brutal. These guys threw off the challenge with a shrug. 4) These guys got right to work... listened to everything needing to be done. I only had money to pay them for 5 hours... I figured and told them... "hey guys, just do as much as you can... Let us just get the bulk of it done... If there is more work... I will just call you to come back, at a later date to finish... Anthony just shook his head and said "Nope, Lets get this done today". Chef didn't even think for a second that could be done... Every room had art on the walls, it was dirty from me not being there, My garden was dying... and by no means could I imagine we would be done that day... They were even able to pack up my garden and all my potted plants! Are you kidding me! ??? 5)Within the first two hours... I couldn't believe my eyes! They completely had moved/unpacked and wrapped just about everything! I was stunned... I didn't think this was possible. They are EXTREMELY organized as to what must be done first then next. This is important in any job site... I cant even use an adjective to describe it... just WOW! 6)At the 3 hour mark we were packed up COMPLETELY and on our way to my new home...I still was wondering how... we would drive a 30 min drive, and unpack everything in less than 2 hours...I was already planning that I would either have to pay more or I'd need them to come back... NOPE, they not only got it all done in 5 hours they got it done early!!!! 7) I told the company my biggest fear... My biggest fear was... It was a very steep and dangerous drive to my new home... It was up a very jagged hill, that goes down to only one lane on the crest of the mountain... If you look to your left out the drivers side window... its a 3000 foot drop to grim death with no shoulder on the road! No fences!... Once you get there its a steep driveway down! with a hairpin turn, on a gravel road! a 90 degree turn! I thought for sure this would scare away any mover from the job... This didn't even phase them! They did it easily, and were able to go back up the mountain, without putting a scratch on my new property... Without damaging or breaking anything!!!! How you guys did that is just beyond me! You could teach a class on how to drive a truck... What a team! 8) once done I paid them, the amount was exactly what they quoted me, no hidden fees, and was WELL WORTH THE MONEY... I thanked them, and told them I would ALWAYS hire them again...Honestly, I never hire movers, usually can do most of it myself and just have my friends help me, right? This was my first time using professional movers and I didn't know what to expect. I thought I had to orchestrate everything and have stuff ready to go and they would just carry it to the truck. Nope, these guys do it all. They will pack stuff for you, unscrew any mounts or shelves you have and of course move everything. I had to move my stuff from San Diego to Los Angeles and I thought it would take several hours to pack the stuff then the drive up and they go by hour so my wallet was kind of sweating a little bit before they arrive. The guys showed up on time and were very professional. Ryan and the crew came in scanned the area asked me a few things and went straight to work and moved everything in about an hour and a half and that was because of me being indecisive if I wanted to keep the item at my place or not. I lived on the third floor and my condo only had stairs, so these guys brought down a large sectional couch, ikea closets, and tons boxes down 3 floors and still completed in that time span. The off load was even faster! We made the drive up and I got stuck in traffic so I was behind them by 45 minutes. My wife was already at my house in LA, so she help orchestrate the offload. I got to my house and these guys were done already! Literally took these guys about two hours and some change to move all the items minus the driving! Key take aways are they handle your stuff with care, they are fast, they do all the lifting, and they will help you pack and don't worry about removing clothes from your drawers. They will wrap it and move it! The price was great and I tipped the guys because they deserved it. I would definitely use their service again if I needed to. read more

There are not words enough or stars enough to give this organization!!!!! 20 stars would work for us! Kind, decent, responsible, reliable, timely, ethical, professional and just downright FANTASTIC, FABULOUS and OUTSTANDING!!!! They moved us carefully in the middle of a Pandemic during the MIDDLE of the holidays bc our move kept getting pushed out because of our lender so they moved us nearly at Christmas - with zero complaints. They were throughout the process CONTINUALLY KIND, SUPPORTIVE and ACCOMMODATING!!!! I could never recommend them more! They worked SO hard, communicated throughout the coordination and were totally dependable. If a moving company ever surprises & delights you, you know you're using SD Mini Movers. I called them to move a 3-piece entertainment center less than 5 miles and at the last minute. I had professional help lined up and they backed out the night before I was to pick it up. This was not a small unit and I needed at least one guy and a truck. I got two guys, both charming, clean cut, and hustlers! No slacking here. They arrived on time (to the minute of when I was told!!) and in two hours, disassembled, wrapped, moved, and reassembled the furniture being careful of everything along the way. I was seriously impressed. Their rates were good, too. They didn't gouge me because it was last minute. Last time I used movers several pieces of furniture arrivef broken beyond repair. If I knew of SD Mini Movers then, that would not have happened. read more

We had to move something from unattended apt to my school. I left instructions and they were able to come in and out and move the fridge and microwave by themselves. They communicated with me by sending me an text 24 hours and throughout the day of the move. They kept in touch with me to let me know they were 20 mins out and 15 mins to the drop off. Anthony and Robin were great! They were available within an hour of my first call to the company. Anthony was communicative and they were right on time. They finished helped my mom finish moving the bigger items out of her storage locker in under an hour from arriving at the locker to leaving the house. I made contact through the Internet and they answered me promptly and on a call decided to get a table with eight chairs and a table that were in a store's warehouse and bring it to my house. I had an emergency hot water leak and needed my washer and dryer unit moved out ASAP for a plumber to get behind the walls. Called SD mini movers and they were able to send out Anthony and Richard same day. They did a phenomenal job. They unpacked the two cubes, repacked them onto their truck, moved my stuff to my new building 25 miles away, moved all my stuff into my new place on the 3rd floor... all in under 3 hours. And my movers Jose and Ryan did an amazing job wrapping and handling my stuff. But I was given a 12-4 window. They showed up 40 minutes early. I had to pick up my new apartment keys at 11:30, that was the earliest time they could do it. I told them this and they wrote down that my time preference would be closer to 1. They ended up taking their breaks while I was at my other place. What I didn't realize at the time, I got charged for their breaks. Which would have been fine if they hadn't shown up early. But because of this I feel that I was a bit cheated on money. They started the clock before I was even home. On top of this, I did have a furniture item broken, I didn't realize until later because it was under a bunch of boxes. The wheel was broken off and pushed through the wood, no way to fix that. Thankfully one of my oldest antiques made the journey in one piece, minus a screw that makes it a bit wobbly. In conclusion I would recommend this moving company if you're willing to take small risks and you have money to spare. It costs a pretty penny, a lot more than I was expecting. My move was on the 6th, I filled out the after move survey and their customer service team never reached out.

The movers got into a loud, aggressive argument early in the day -- so bad that one of them ended up sitting in the truck cab for the rest of the day, leaving the crew short-handed. The remaining movers were angry, cursing constantly (about my furniture?), and continued to argue with each other throughout the day. The tension was uncomfortable, and honestly, I didn't feel safe or respected in my own home. Because they were down a person, the move ran way over their original estimate -- by 67% -- and even though they adjusted the rate, it still ended up costing far more than expected. When the company followed up for feedback, the person I spoke to was understanding and apologized sincerely. I was asked what could make it right. I said a refund. They offered $100 -- which felt inadequate -- and after I said so, they never responded again. I'm not writing this to get anyone "in trouble." I just think people deserve to know what they're signing up for. I paid for a full team and a professional experience -- and I received neither. I'm still waiting for the company to do the right thing and make this right with a proper refund.

In late August, I started a two-month remodeling project on my home in Southern California. Steven and Alan from Top Shelf Delivery and Moving moved all my furniture and belongings from my house into the pod for safekeeping. I was impressed by Steven and Alan's promptness, professionalism, communication and work ethic. In less than four hours, they carefully moved me from my four-bedroom, two-story home and ingeniously packed everything in the pod. It was incredible they fit everything in that 8' x 8' x 16' pod! When I asked, they estimated they've performed 1,000 and 2,000 moves respectively and that their top priority remains customer satisfaction. In my case, Steven and Alan certainly achieved their goal! I plan to call Top Shelf Delivery and Moving when I move back into my home and I'm pleased I can "reserve" Steven and Alan to perform the move. The final price was right in line with the estimate, and the three movers who handled the loading and unloading were outstanding. They were extremely polite, professional, and communicative throughout the entire process, addressing my husband as "sir" and me as "ma'am" the entire time, which wasn't necessary but really spoke to their level of respect and professionalism. They even moved our safe, which weighs over 1,100 pounds, no easy task! They took great care to protect our belongings, using blankets on almost everything and wrapping items to prevent scuffs or damage. Moving is a lot of work and, selfishly, I hope we don't have to do it again anytime soon, but if we do, we would absolutely call Right Way Movers again in a heartbeat.
