Jerry moved me this month (Mar2021). He had a large enough truck to take everything in 1 load . He and his mover were meticulous with my furniture, boxes, fragile items and plants. He wrapped my dressers and used clean blankets for glass and fragile items. He disassembled and reassembled beds and TV/stand. Not one thing was marred or damaged because everything was handled w/care. Jerry's prices are very reasonable and competitive. You will not be disappointed w/his service. We hired this company to move us to a new home up the street from us. Jerry came to our home and spent some time to inventory everything and provided an estimate when he was finished. We reviewed the estimate compared to others we received but we liked Jerry's personable approach so we asked if he could meet us halfway on matching another quote we received and he did. The day before moving day, two guys came to help pack the remainder of our house. They got everything in our kitchen and dining ready to go for the next morning's move. Moving day came and 3 guys showed up when we were expecting 4. It took more time than expected but the guys that showed up were on the ball and completed the move in spite of the situation. When everything was completed, I was presented with an altered bill that was about $240 more than our originally agreed upon price with 4 guys. Exhausted with attempting to argue this at the time, I provided them a check certain I'd be able to rectify the situation with Jerry once I spoke to him. I called him the next day, left a message explaining the circumstance. A few days passed and Jerry got back to me. I'm an empathetic person and mostly understood the situation he was in with regard to the 4th guy not showing up so we came to an agreement. Jerry cut me a check for the difference and hand delivered it to our home. Great guys, very professional and they don't break your stuff! I would (and have) recommended Jerry to friends of ours that are moving as well. read more

Jerry from Just Moving Up came yesterday and moved a really heavy treadmill from the third floor of our house to the garage. He was super careful with our treadmill and our walls, light fixtures and banisters. He covered all of them before moving the treadmill, was super friendly as was his associate, and they were super fast too! I have had movers that were kind of scary in the past - Just Moving Up is the total opposite of that! We hired these movers to move a few larger items (fridge, washer and dryer etc.) a whole half of a mile. Jerry assured us the movers would wrap up things like our fridge. The movers had no Saran Wrap and borrowed ours from a previous move, they wrapped my desk and kids outdoor play set but neglected my SS fridge. The movers themselves were pretty good, Jerry on the other hand was not. We moved Friday afternoon, that evening as we were putting things together we noticed several (about 6 inches in length) scratches on my less than a year old SS fridge. We called (and of course left a message for Jerry about the situation) no return call. We called several times over the weekend without a response. We FINALLY get a call back that he will come take a look Wed. We canceled plans and made arrangements to meet him but he was a no show and not even a phone call. Talk about business ethics!! UPDATE: The day after the above posting we received a phone call from Jerry that he was available to meet that day. He actually showed up this time. He apologized several times about the damage and not showing up for our previous appointment. After inspection and an unprofessional comment of "I'll just have to take your word that it wasn't previously damaged" he issued a claim settlement. It's better than nothing, but still doesn't take the scratches out of my refrigerator. You would hope that a small business would value their customers, our claim was blatantly ignored, until made public. Boiled down: The movers were great, management not so much. read more

We recently moved from Encinitas to Carlsbad, short move, but a lot of stuff! (5 bedroom house). Jerry's estimate was very competitive, we did the research and saw he had a great BBB rating, and he was very comfortable to work with. 5 guys, 2 trucks, and 10 hours later, our move was complete, and it came in right where the estimate said it would. Everything was in great shape as well, no damage moving things out of the previous house (even with a difficult staircase), or moving into the new one. We really appreciated the effort and personal care Jerry took in our move to make sure everything went flawlessly. This was our fifth move in the San Diego area, and no one has done it better, many not even close to as well. read more

Wow is all I can say about Jerry and his crew at Just Moving Up. They moved our contents from our large live/work apartment recently and the process could not have gone smoother!! I don't yelp much but wanted to make sure this company gets the recognition they deserve. We were very pleasantly surprised on how well our move went with this company. This is our fourth move as a family and the biggest one to date, JMU made it the smoothest. The moved everything from our very lived in 3800sq ft home in one day without a hitch. By far one of the best moves I have ever experienced! From start to finish Jerry and his team were professional, courteous and extremely friendly. While we only moved a short distance, Jerry made sure that every item was packed in the truck as if we were moving across country. I had a great experience with Jerry and the two guys that moved us. He fit us in his schedule even though I called kind of last minute, and the guys even showed up that morning 15 min early! Prices were better than a few other local places, and they did a great job. They didn't damage furniture or walls, and were careful with the floors (and they had 3 stories and a tight staircase to go down). I will FOR SURE use them if I need to move again. read more
