Cute, delicious bakery in the Freemont neighborhood! I stopped by for a treat on a Saturday afternoon after a run and it hit the spot. The line would periodically extend out the door, so make sure to dress appropriately! There is seating both inside and outside, and water available to bring to your table. Sea Wolf is a great coffee and pastry spot talked in the Wallingford area just north of gasworks. I used to frequent this place during the pandemic, so it was nice to see the dining room was fully reopened this time. If you come on a weekend morning be prepared to wait. There were about 5-10 people in front of me around 11am. Many enjoy the pastries here -- I too like the jalapeño cheddar biscuits and cinnamon rolls -- but my overwhelming favorite is the sourdough loaf. When fresh, there is no better bread in Seattle. I would note that prices here are quite expensive compared to other spots (the sourdough loaf used to be $7 last year, now it's ~$11) but I still think the quality and taste makes it a must-visit (especially if you're from out of town). read more

This spot knows their baked goods for sure! I've seen their products on so many restaurant menus, I was excited to try the brick and mortar spot! Picked up: Cinnamon Roll ($7), Cheddar Lye Roll ($2.25), and Focaccia ($5.45). The Cinnamon Roll is super unique and not like your regular old cinnamon roll - it's super flaky like a croissant and is speckled with raisins and caramelized cinnamon sugar, and is not too sweet. You can have it iced if you'd like! It wasn't very impressive cold but microwaved for 15 seconds - it turns into a buttery delicious croissant like pastry! The cheddar lye roll is pretty small and very pretzel-y with a delicious crust and is nice and salty. The Focaccia is a thick slice and is speckled with olives and lemon zest - the flavors work so well together and I would recommend it toasted! I visited Seattle briefly and was only able to try a few items from Sea Wolf Bakers, but I can already see why they're so well loved in the area. They carry a variety of breads and pastries, made with freshly milled Northwest grains. I enjoyed most of the items that I tried, and definitely plan to revisit them when back in the area. They take online orders; otherwise, you can order at a window with a display case of the available baked goods. There's no indoor seating, but they have an outdoor seating area. I tried the following items, from most-liked to least-liked: -Sprouted Rye ($7 half loaf, $14 whole loaf) - delicious, flavorful loaf. This loaf was full of deep flavor, and I loved the texture from the inclusion of sprouted rye berries, pepitas, and sunflower seeds. This bread didn't need anything: it was delicious on its own. Highly recommend, especially if you're a rye fan. -White Sourdough ($9.50) - this was good, and I can see why so many restaurants across the cities use Sea Wolf's sourdough. It was quite flavorful and not overly sour, and had a nice thin, crackly crust. -Focaccia ($5.50/slice) - good but not mind-blowing. It has a nice chewy, elastic texture, and was topped with olives; I liked the flavor that the preserved lemon also brought. However, I prefer the focaccia from Salmonberry Goods. -Sweet Croissant ($4.60) - croissant dough with a seasonal filling, which was rhubarb, ginger, and pink peppercorn when I tried it. I liked the filing a lot (fresh and not overly sweet!), but I thought the pastry was just fine: I preferred the laminated pastry that I tried at Saint Bread. -Cinnamon Roll ($7.25) - underwhelming and very bready. It was more like an enriched raisin bread, and didn't have much cinnamon. Even with the large portion, I don't think it was worth $7, but it may be better with the cream cheese frosting. -Seeded Sourdough Roll ($2) - this is the roll version of their seeded sourdough. I've been here several times and initially, I was after the cinnamon roll, which used to be really hard to get your hands on. I'm not sure if they're making more cinnamon rolls now or if I'm just having better luck, but they seem to be easier to get these days. Best cinnamon roll, ever!! Seriously... perfectly caramelized on the edge but still soft and chewy on the inside. It's $7 but pretty huge and I promise you won't regret it! I have also had the savory pastry and sweet pastry (these rotate flavors every month or so based on what's in season, etc.) and they are unique and worthwhile as well! Sourdough is a little pricey but also very tasty. During COVID, you can pre-order online on their website ($14 order minimum) and then pick up on your preferred date/time window -- super easy! They have set up a little stand outside of the main buildings so you don't have to go inside and it's pretty much contact-less to pick up. Was picking up Bagels from Old Salt next door and decided to stop here since we noticed quite the line! Ended up enjoying this more than we could have ever thought! There's no selection - they say it's a modest rotating menu and that just means that I'll never be able to have a dependable favorite. They have a chocolate croissant, but nothing that has meat. Sea Wolf Bakers is in Fremont off Stone Way, kinda tucked behind the building but just Google the address and you'll be fine. Walking in, it's a commercial kitchen look with open view of what they are baking, rolling, kneading, all that stuff. I like the set up, basically a counter right where they are baking. No fancy display case, just a menu of items they have, cross it off the menu if they have run out, sheet pan rack carts with items for you to look at, bread rack. Pick something. Also they sell some merch if you want a t-shirt or something. We decided to get a pear croissant thing, a chocolate croissant, and half loaf of sourdough rye bread. All was delicious! I hate to be wasteful because I'll never finish a whole loaf, so I do like that you can buy a half loaf. Prices are on the higher side, quality of the pastries and bread are real good, staff was helpful and friendly, some seating inside and outside, very warm inside due to the ovens, overall a good bakery.
