    Chicken Sandwich and Fries
    Anton F.

Seaglass is located inside the DoubleTree Hotel on the Hotel Circle in Mission Valley. A small place that seats about 20 with a full bar. I stopped in for a late dinner after checking into my room. The menu is limited to a few sandwiches, salads and pizzas but almost any cocktail you can imagine. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich and a Long Island Iced Tea. The sandwich was decent, flame broiled gave it a nice smoky taste, Fries came with. The Tea from Long Island was good and strong. Exactly what I needed before bed, I was out like a light afterwards.

Went here to celebrate last night and was in awe with the high level of customer service and flexibility of the chef!! It was getting late and I was too tired to drive out of the hotel to get food so we ate at this cute attached restaurant and it was a total win The vibe is nice/casual and warm, it feels clean in there, and there's a bar. The menu is American cuisine along with a fine selection of drinks. My friend got a burger but I was craving cheesy fries with chicken so I asked our waitress if she could make it happen and she was so friendly and accommodating, we went through what the options were (this was off-menu) and she came back with a well-presented plate of twice baked cheesy fries with chicken and a side of guacamole! Their chef had a fun time making this for me and I loved it; the guacamole was fresh and chunky, definitely house made, and there was a very nice amount of mozzarella and good sliced pieces of chopped grilled chicken. It was a great meal to celebrate with and after dinner I was able to go up to my hotel room and rest. Thank you team for an excellent job!! I will be coming back in the future, this place is definitely on my go-to list now :)

Reasonable quality food for a hotel restaurant. Prices were a little shocking. But overall that experience.

We happened upon this place for happy hour, which is a great deal. The old fashioned was really good and they have a decent wine list, both at great prices. The popcorn chicken was also really good...but the Brussels sprouts are worth coming for alone. The service was great and there is plenty of bar seating. I came in for happy hour with some of my clients, those of which had been there for a few hours, we missed the HH but joined in. Their original server was extremely nice and attentive. The server who helped us, not only was extremely dismissive and rude, he lied and brought over the POS mini when closing us out, I had asked if the tip was already included given the group size. He said "no." So I added tip. After having the receipt texted to me. I noticed the auto grat for 20% (which is standard), but I then added an 18% tip on that, as I was told it wasn't included. Especially for how rude he was - I'm extremely unhappy with his dishonesty. Will absolutely never come back. Food was ok...drinks were great.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

Upon entering, we were directed to seat ourselves by the bus boy so as we proceeded. The server abruptly stopped us in our tracks and kind of rudely told us that he'd be with us and to wait. As he approached to seat us I informed him that the bus boy told us to seat ourselves and the server half jokingly asked who so I pointed to him. As for the food, we ordered sandwiches and fries. I got the turkey and brie sandwich with grilled onions and it was real carved turkey (so good). Unfortunately, the fries were soggy and not crispy and fresh. BFF had the Cubano sandwich and it was a good size but they put a thick piece of ham steak on it along with shredded pork that wasn't seasoned. He claims his fries were good and fresh. The ambience is cute, very clean and plenty of seating indoors and out for such a small restaurant. Prices are reasonable, too. Had it not been for the server rubbing me the wrong way upon entering as well as the soggy fries, I would have given this place 5 stars.

The restaurant itself has an open and welcoming atmosphere, comfortable seating, good a/c, friendly service, a good variety of menu options...however, the cost for what you get doesn't equate. Now, their prices are fair, compared to many other places out there, but due to the lack of quality it just hits harder. My Monte Cristo was so sad-looking and dry. The turkey was heavily peppered, which might be okay in any other turkey sandwich, but this did not go well with what a Monte Cristo should taste like (iykyk)...even when the raspberry jam was added all you could taste was pepper. In addition to the strong pepper taste, the turkey itself was extremely dry and shredded to pieces when I tried to remove it. Very disappointed. When I told our waiter, who was very friendly and had been attentive, he said that he'd let the cook know--and that was it. No follow up. No apology. My son had the French toast and it was okay, nothing special. I usually have lunch here, but it's been a few years since I've been here for breakfast -- so this was a bummer. The past few times I felt like the quality was slipping, but I chalked it up to a possible "off" day...but this recent visit confirmed that they weren't "off" days and the quality truly has slipped. Hopefully they can reevaluate things and make some improvements. They have a good menu and nice concept, I just hope they improve their quality and presentation.

We went for breakfast on my boyfriend's birthday and it was the highlight of our day so unfortunately nothing else compared the rest of the day The donuts came out first and made us speechless! The crust perfectly protects the light and fluffy inside and holds the maple icing beautifully! The bacon is crunchy and crispy and the perfect complimentary salty crunch to the soft warm dough. It's a unique mouth feel and you want to eat all 3. I recommend ordering them last The caramelized brie and braised duck skillet hash was so unique and delicious, we had never had something like that before. The meat was juicy and melted in your mouth with the brie and soft scrambled eggs. The bread was toasted a crisp golden brown and was the perfect vehicle for the hash. I wasn't feeling like an entree so just got two sides -- roasted veggies and mashed potatoes -- but I could not finish either of them. The mashed potatoes had so much butter or oil I felt legitimately nauseous halfway through eating them. The veggies were smoky but also a bit oily. For $10 per side, I was very disappointed. Those that got the Caesar salads said they were too fishy, and that the anchovy taste was too strong and needed lemon to balance it out. I was told the Mac and cheese was low on sauce and generally flavorless, tasting store-bought if anything. The Arlo Bolognese though two of my party members said was ok. The single waiter likely had too many tables to serve as it took him a little while to get back to us each time. The restaurant's decor and ambiance seemed elegant, but the food experience for the very extensive price we paid was abysmal.

There is a "happy hour" on Monday but it's called Ouster Monday, oysters are $1 and they have different specials that are not offered on the normal happy hour. Got the crispy chicken wings, Wagyu longaniza, and burger The chicken wings were very crispy and came topped with a jalapeño relish. The relish had a citrusy taste to it or maybe it was the liquid from the pickled jalapeños. I liked the crispness of the chicken but I think the relish was too acidic for me. The Wagyu longaniza was my favorite, very strong beefy flavor. It came on top of salsa matcha which i thought was very tasty so much that I dipped the wings and burger in the sauce. The slice of radish on top gave it a nice texture and crunch. I see the Wagyu hotdog is offered on the oyster Monday special so I'm gonna have to come back and try that for sure. The burger was cooked nicely, medium as requested. It came topped with an egg, truffled onion jam, and cheddar cheese. The bun was nicely toasted and the egg and cheese added a nice rich element to it but I didn't care for the onion jam, it gave the burger an overall sweet profile. I'd simply ask for it without next time. Over all a solid burger, maybe I'd add bacon too. I also had a margarita which was on happy hour special. I asked for it to be spicy and they added a tajin rim which was nice. Spicy and refreshing! Parking is all on the street so I had to part a few blocks away. Overall a solid happy hour. I'll be back on Oyster Monday for the hot dog and fish collars.
