I was quite happy that Sears Appliance Repair was able to take care of our washer that went down recently. Our family does a ton of laundry and I did not want to have to replace the units just yet, or have it down for too long. I was able to set up an appointment conveniently through the website, there were plenty of options to choose from, and was able to set it so that we wouldn't be down for too long. We didn't even buy our appliances from there, but they seem to be a general repair service nowadays. Note that there is a $79 diagnostic fee, which applies to the service should you choose to move forward with it. No free estimates, because if your appliance is down, you're either gonna fix it, or decide to maybe hold off or replace...so I was fine with it. Almost every tech is gonna charge a service fee or diagnostic. They do offer the home warranty service that can cover up to X amount of appliances, but I've had issues with home warranties in the past and generally take good enough care of my stuff and can do simple troubleshooting myself, so I opted out. Our service tech, Nilesh was great. He arrived on time, notified me when he was on his way, and was able to troubleshoot our appliance very quickly and explained everything we needed to do and made sure I understood. He was professional and courteous and I have absolutely no complaints. I'm glad I went through a verified appliance repair service becuase you have to remember also that the repair tech needs the parts...and ours had them all without having to order anything or go out and get it. That makes a big difference in the time it takes to fix anything. Hopefully we won't have to for a while, but if I do, I'm contacting again. read more

Sears appliance repair was called for HVAC system not cooling and a service date was set a week later. ONE HOUR BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT WE WERE CALLED and was told OUR SERVICE WAS CANCELED AND TO RESCHEDULE A WEEK LATER. Completely unsatisfactory. We are elderly and going through a heat wave in excess of 100 degrees for a week. No explanation given but another AC service said that Warranty work paid less so my call was put to the back of the line. Sears should never CANCEL A SERVICE CALL WITH ONE HOUR NOTICE and not reschedule for the very next day at the latest. Shame on you! read more

***UPDATE*** ZERO RATING*** Had another appliance repair company out and Sears diagnosis was entirely incorrect and left us at risk of a major house fire!!! Sears technician left stating the dishwasher was fixed, when it obviously was not, and in fact had a short in the motherboard which was arcing and burning wires. Adam is great. Has been to the house many times and always does a good job. Do not like SEARS ever since they have switch over to Sinch Home Warranty now. Company is not the same and their customer service is quite sad now. After being a long term customer, I will NOT be renewing either of my multiple contracts with them due to the poor service that I have received in the past. I will continue to pursue my case with them regarding my AC replacement that they failed to reimburse me for after following all their instructions to a tee, but once job was completed they informing me that they were not going to reimburse for the job. To this day I have not received any money back from this company as a reimbursement to what I paid out of pocket for this job. So many months later and almost 10K later, at is now time to move on to another company that hopefully treats me better and follows through with what they say. read more

I'm not certain of the spelling of his name, but "Raf" really took great care to make sure my dishwasher was operational before he left and went aboveboard in his duty to service. if I could rate him higher I would. if ever I need to use this service again, I certainly hope whatever I need repaired falls under his expertise. Technician was adequate. Got the job done. Was not nearly as friendly, or welcoming as previous employee. Throughout was suspicious that it was necessary to order and install the parts. Came across as suspicious of previous technicians diagnosis. At the end remained that way and suggested in the future I could probably fix the problem myself by unplugging unit for a few hours then plugging it back in. (Which to me seems like something I should not have to do if everything is working as it should.) Again I would say this person was adequate, but in the future I would hope if I needed service, he would not be the one to return. Dishwasher not getting dishes clean. All attempts to explain what I was seeing were interrupted by tech. Didn't want to know what was done in past by other techs or me. I have never felt so unheard & disrespected. After 45 min. tech announced he found the problem: food stuck in sprayer. He unclogged it, then ran vinegar through cycle. Done. Received payment receipt after he left. He added comment, "Found no issue with the unit. Customer is not happy with the unit and is trying to have the tech to retire it." That's confusing. If there was no issue, why say you found the problem and then spend another 20 min fixing it? Honestly, I'm just looking for clean dishes. The unit is old, but it's much easier to fix it, than to shop for, remove, install a new one. This tech & his company will never be asked by me for help again. read more

My service window was scheduled for 10 am to 2 pm. At 3:05 pm I received an email stating the technician was on his way. However I checked the details of the message and it states the technician would arrive at 1:33. I wasn't called by the technician to say he wasn't going to be on time nor did he apologize for being an hour and fifteen minutes late. He did not introduce himself or present a business card. His jacket hid the company name on his shirt. He diagnosed a problem without checking it out and then said he couldn't take care of it. I am not happy to say the least. read more

DO NOT GET A SEARS HOME WARRANTY FOR YOUR HOME APPLIANCES. They do not EXIST anymore! They contract out to A & E Factory Services in Bay Area, which don't repair or help. All the Sears repair appliances locations in the Bay Area are PERMANENTLY CLOSED. So they contract to local providers that work from home, they don't have offices. NO WAY TO REACH THEM BY PHONE, EMAIL, TEXT, OR EVEN GO TO A LOCATION! A & E Factory Services gets paid BY THE TRIP, no incentive to fix a problem if they get paid to come back more trips to work on it! I had a gentleman come out from A & E AND IT WAS THE THIRD TECHNICIAN TO COME OUT TO SEE THE REFRIGERATOR. And I asked him why it's taking sooo long to fix my refrigerator. He actually laughed at me and said "This is job security!" And I've come across A & E repair men in public and he offered to fix my refrigerator for CASH UNDER THE TABLE. It's funny how they can fix my refrigerator for cash BUT THEY WON'T FIX IT WITH THE WARRANTY THAT I PAID $300.00 FOR! A & E offices are located in FLORIDA (or an overseas call center) They have no reason or incentive to help you. The company officially sent me 6 parts! It took 6 calls to get all 6 parts that were listed in the order. I have had 4 different repair men sent to my home since AUGUST 2020. It is now April Fool's Day 2021. For every man that comes out to say they need a part, the next guy comes and says it's not the right part I need!!! It's a never ending struggle to get my refrigerator fixed and they are GETTING PAID! In short, please PLEASE save yourself the trauma and the misery! DO NOT BUY A SEARS WARRANT! Technician did not complete the work and ended up closing the work order. Part was on order and had not arrived. I asked him on the status of the part to which he lied and said part has not shipped yet. I arrived home and the part was delivered sometime during the day. Also, the entire work has not been completed as my washing machine is still making a big banging sound. Now I have to start the claims process again. This technician needs to be disciplined for lying and thinking that the customer will not do anything. I used to love Sears but I can see why they are where they are today! We were very unhappy with the scheduling. It was very difficult to schedule the online appointment . Also, we were notified that our appointment would be between 1:00 and 5:00 on a Monday. During that day the update of time was changed several times, finally said 6:30 or so before cancelling and set a time for the next day between1:00 and 5. Again, the time was changed several times,settling on after 6:00. The technician called son after 5 to say he would be there within 20 mins. He arrived when he said he would. The technician was very competent and pleasant. The problem wasn't our dryer, but a blockage in the vent which our warranty didn't cover. Also, the filter on the dryer was damaged, but our warranty didn't cover that. The technician cleaned the lint from the dryer which was an additional charge of $50! We are cancelling the Sears warranty! read more

DO NOT use Sears Home Appliance Repair!! NEVER!!! Had them out @ the beginning of Oct for range repair on the burners. Paid for visit, plus the next visit in advance plus the part. They didn't fix the problem. Next morning I got the stovetop to work. Sent back part for refund plus req. refund for the future visit. No less than 10 calls and runaround, TO DATE have NOT received the refund. Sent part back and requested refund per their paperwork and process 10/18/24. Today is 12/10/24. $ 454.00 refund due. I scheduled a job to replace my Kenmore wall oven door gasket. The first technician said the gasket was available and ordered the gasket. A second technician who came to replace the gasket said he couldn't start until I signed approval to install it. I signed the approval and it was the wrong gasket. He then informed me that gasket is not available. I requested a refund for the work not performed. He said he would forward my request. I never received an email or call from Sears Home Services. After two calls and two months it has not been resolved. I feel I must write this review to help others Avoid the headach. read more

I was once again apologized to and told I would received more information and would be satisfied with the result. It's been about 6 days and still nothing.
