I do NOT recommend Sears windows or the sales department. The salesman was untrustworthy, unresponsive, and unreliable. I only heard from him with difficulty. The sales quote provided was comparable to Home Depot, but the discount he gave me and included in the contract was never honored by the company. It took several months to get anyone to actually place the order. Following multiple attempts to get anyone to respond to me, I finally found a manager who was very responsive and helpful. But nothing could be done to recover from the months of lost time and now a significant increase in cost due to the salesman error or deception. Recommend if William Upchurch shows up at your home to sell you windows, don't let him in! The windows themselves are disappointing. The glass viewing area is 3" smaller in height and width than my previous windows. For installation, disappointed here too. The windows came scuffed with large black marks and my windowsills are cracked in half. I would never have bought these had I known how small the viewing space is. read more

We have had a whole house contract with Sears for more than 30 YEARS! We recently called regarding our TV that was no longer working. A technician came out and said that they could not repair it and Sears would send us a check. We called Sears (and waited HOURS on hold) and was told they'd mail us a check for the value they assessed the TV to be. We called back asking where the check was and we were informed that someone else cashed our check and basically 'too bad'. We called again and their 3 day investigation was that they mailed out the check and again 'too bad.' This fraudulent activity is not my fault as the customer and it is Sears responsibility to actually contact their financial institution and start an investigation and reissue the check. Sears no longer is a company that stands behind its products or word. Steer clear!! We will be involving additional resources if Sears continues to shuck its responsibility and monies that we are owed. read more

These guys are awful. What happened to Sears. So, my dishwasher started having some issues with actually washing the dishes. Problem 1.. they give you a window between 8am and 5pm with no clue as to when they will arrive, so be prepared to be home all day. 2. The guy came close to the 5pm time frame and was litterally here 5 minutes. That's it! He did not look under the dishwasher, open the front panel, nope.. he looked at it and said it would be 698.00 to repair this. Now, how on earth can you determine what needs to be done if you have not even looked at the dang thing. You brought your fancy toolbox but never used it. Convinced this was a total scam, I declined. However, I am still out 118.00 for the vist. Save yourselves and go elsewhere. Or buy a new dishwasher through someone else. read more

The service provided by Sears was top notch. I was assigned a smaller company that was horrible fixing my heating system. I was in the cold for over four days hoping that this company would fix my furnace and I would have heat. After four days I couldn't take it so I called my warranty company and told them they had to send a reputable company out to repair. The sent out Sears and literally the service guy had my furnace fixed in 5 minutes with no issues but he waited at least an hour and did many troubles shooting techniques to ensure the problem was resolved. It was and the service guy informed me about everything he was doing and proper maintenance of my unit. By far professional, efficient and reliable. read more

In the end of June 2021 I contacted seers home repair services for my Kenmore elite front loading washer with the dryer stacked on top. I have an extended warranty that is still under warranty. I have had over 11 appointments scheduled to fix this. Out of the 11 times only one time did two people show up. That was the last time and when I use the washer after they left it continue to leak water all over the floor. I had multiple excuses why they did not show up they were sick, their car broke down and emergency came up etc. Today they sent me a picture of someone else's home and said knock knock no one is home call and reschedule your appointment. It took 5 days for to even get them to our house. My original appointment on Friday they never showed up and got a call saying his truck broke down and I had to reschedule for this Monday. The Technician for my washer was arrogant and dismissive..I explained to the tech that my washer is not working and won't drain - I asked him if he could test the regular wash cycle and he said he "doesn't have time to test the cycle" and said nothing was wrong. As soon as he left I put a load of laundry through and as soon as I did a normal wash cycle it stopped working again and was flashing F20 and didn't drain... I hit stop and it still was flashing codes and I had to unplug it. It has been 10+ days now without a washer. Would not recommend! We had another company come in and checked the pump and knew right away what the problem was! read more

First tech guy - doesn't want to come up and check our problem machine, finally arrives calls me a liar in my own home. 2 weeks later second guy comes to fix machine - first guy never ordered the part. Try working that out with there customer service no chance... have to wait another week for third tech guy because no one else can order the part and then another 2-3 weeks before fixing it. So 6 weeks to replace a pump... Order cancelled! Take note this is a very bad company, I've never experienced anything like this!! And like others say had to add 1 star not by choice!! read more

Complete garbage. I've scheduled and rescheduled an AC repair appointment with this company 8 times now. I finally had to have my home warranty claim transferred to a different company to get it resolved. When you call the service line, expect to explain your issue, be told that you are being put on hold while a representative "looks into your issue", and then magically be transferred to someone else. I don't know if it is complete incompetence or what, but this has happened to me at least 10 times now. You end up spending hours on the phone before you can even get an appointment scheduled. Since my appointments were scheduled for my rental condo, I would give the customer service representatives my tenant's phone number for entry to the building. IF the technician even showed up for the appointment (there were five no-shows), they would end up calling my number and I do not have access to my cell phone at my job during the day. They would never bother calling my tenants and eventually just cancel the appointment. My tenants have now been without AC for 4 weeks now and they have a 5 month old son. I feel absolutely terrible for them and have reimbursed them money, but I know that does not make up for the lack of comfort. I am beyond frustrated with Sears and the two other companies that have also ghosted calls (DMV Heating & Cooling and Legacy Home Comfort). As soon as I find a competent company, I will update this review so others don't have to go through the same issues. Beyond disgraceful. Not even worth a single star but I had no choice! When I purchase the warranty I was told that Sears does not contract anymore....ALL TECHNICIANS are Sears employees and will show up in a Sears truck. WRONG! My icemaker went July 2...First of all, you have to pay the $75.00 deductible UP FRONT. Did that... the scheduled me with Rush Appliance (I Googled it and it says "PERMANENTLY CLOSED" BBB RATING "F" I telephoned Sears and they suggested that I cancel it and re-schedule....I did (another $75.00 up front but they said it will be refunded) That company couldn't even check out the repair for 2 weeks) Canceled that. A third call...only one that could do it within a day was RUSH So I took a chance and a third $75.00! (I did get a refund on 2 of these but I had to file a dispute with American Express) Finally Rush comes over after 4 days and said it was the "ice maker" which I already knew and that it would take about 5 days. Finally July 15 they returned and replaced the icemaker. Woke up this morning still NO ICE! Talked to Rush said he would order a new water valve. ( they are guessing) and will call me next week. Called Sears warranty three times and I would have a more intelligent conversation with a goldfish. So here I am buying ice at the WAWA! I have made a total of 17 calls between Sears and Rush Appliance and I am totally lost. Water valve installed 07/15/21...Today is 07/22/21 STILL NO ICE! Fridge is a Kenmore Elite....only 12 yrs old...Done with Kenmore Sears contract states if they can't fix it then they will buy me a new one. I AM READY SEARS!!!! DO NOT USE SEATS HOME SERVICE. I had arranged an appointment for the repair of the seal on my Kenmore washer. Upon making the appointment, I provided the exact part needed for the repair and asked that the technician bring the part with them. I took a day off work to meet the technician to have this repair made. The technician arrived without the part necessary for repair, refused to find parking, and proceeded to block traffic in the alleyway behind my building. He then informed me, despite making a single repair, that he marked the job completed and charged my $112.31, having not performed a single task. I called Sears following the visit to explain the situation; the representative was completely unhelpful and attempted to tell me this was a diagnostic visit, despite not receiving a "diagnosis." Furthermore: I had already explained what part needed to be replaced. I feel that what I just experienced was no less than a scam and that Sears' service department acted in a completely unprofessional and unhelpful manner. Avoid using Sears at all costs. read more

It has been more than a months since I started trying to repair my dishwasher (less than 6 months old, I should note). Three no-shows, multiple phone calls with the warranty provider, no way to reach the Sears technician or dispatcher. One technician ordered parts; another technician said they were the wrong parts and declined to replace them, instead (incorrectly) identifying a different error code and prescribing a solution that did not work. All this after I had to basically beg him to come inside and provide service, since he and other technicians claimed there was no parking on my street - despite me pointing him to at least 3 open parking spaces. No sense of accountability or incentive to get the job done correctly. If you can avoid Sears Appliance repair, do it. Probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had. read more

I called 2 weeks ago for someone to look at my Kenmore Elite over-the-range microwave. The guy I talked to spoke very broken English. He kept mentioning my range and I kept correcting him and telling him it was the microwave. This happened at least 4 times. He gave me a time slot for 2 weeks later and said it would be anywhere between 8:00AM and 5:00PM. What? He wouldn't narrow it down anymore than that. So today arrives and the tech calls and asks what the problem is with my range. After telling him it's the microwave he informed me that he's not certified to work on them. I made an appointment online- they didn't show up and changed the date with no explanation. That date didn't work, changed it again. They weren't available within a reasonable time frame so tried to cancel. THEY MADE IT SO HARD TO CANCEL. Every time I tried online it gave me an error message. When I called it said there was no appointment connected to my phone number. I called and got a person ONCE and was put on hold, apparently they had to transfer me to the right department just to frickin cancel, and when I accidentally hung up it wouldn't get me to a person again on that number no matter how many times I called. FINALLY it recognized the number and after several attempts to get me to reschedule it finally canceled. NEVER work with these guys. Leo from Optimal Appliance Repair was here in two days, quoted me half of Sears fee for identification of the problem and then dropped that charge when he found the problem, just charging me labor and parts. read more

Avoid at all costs. We are currently leasing our Alexandria, VA home to tenants. The dishwasher started leaking. My property manager contacted Sears Home Services to get a diagnostic appointment. The technician (Hamayoon A.) arrived, inspected the dishwasher, and said that it would be $480 to replace a valve and a hose and that it would take a week for those parts to arrive. The property manager conferenced me in to a phone call with the technician to get authorization for the repair or see if we just wanted to replace the dishwasher. I asked the technician to describe the problem and he could only state that the valve and hose needed to be replaced. I asked him to tell me which valve and which hose needed to be replaced and he could not say more than "the valve the water goes through." Contrary to the statement on the Sears Home Services website, the technician said he could not apply the diagnostic fee towards to the cost of the repair (i.e. he wanted $580 in total). I told the technician I would need to compare the cost of repair with the cost of a like-kind replacement since the dishwasher was already over 10 years old. This is when the technician, who was already impatient, started becoming rude. The technician said I had to decide immediately whether or not I was going to do the repair. He said I could not have time to comparison shop and that he would not leave the home until I decided to either do the repair or not. I told the technician I would not be doing business with people who use high pressure sales tactics. He then demanded immediate payment of the diagnostic fee. I was not physically present at the property and asked the technician to send me an invoice that described the work he performed, his diagnosis of the problem, and his recommended repair. He refused. I told him I would not pay until I received a detailed invoice. The technician then THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE if he wasn't paid immediately despite his refusal to write down anything about what he did. I hung up on the technician at that point. My property manager paid his extortionate demand to get him to leave to avoid further disturbing our tenants. My tenant also described the technician as rude when I called him later to follow up. On top of everything, the diagnostic fee included a $7 "fuel surcharge" that was not disclosed on the the company's website. I will never use this service again and I would encourage everyone else to avoid them as well. read more

The saga continues. Another appointment was scheduled for Saturday morning, but the technician cancelled around 6:00 pm after I waited all day for him to arrive. I rescheduled an appointment for Monday, but the technician called and stated that the appointment was not scheduled correctly (should have been scheduled as a recall and not a new appointment) and that I would have to pay him a diagnostic fee if he came to my house. Because I was not willing to pay another diagnostic fee, he cancelled the appointment. I called back to reschedule a new appointment, and the lady that answered the call scheduled the "recall" appointment for Wednesday. Because I again objected to paying another diagnostic fee, she cancelled the appointment and hung up. If Sears Home Repair does not make this right, I will be disputing the $700 charge that I have paid and scheduling an appointment with a "real" technician that can diagnose and fix the problem. MY RECOMMENDATION IS NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOUR PRODUCT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE!!! read more

The Long and Short of it! My Home warranty sent someone out to diagnose our dishwasher. The person came out and found that several parts were no longer able to be purchased, and so he made the call to replace it. We picked a unit and they chose to use Sears service in Cincinnati to install it. I had no problem with this as we had used them to put flooring in our house and were happy with that job. This however Was something unexpected. First I get a call at work but I am in a place I can't take it. I don't recognize the number and no voicemail so I assume it's spam. Later I get another call from the number and figure since it is form the same person I should answer. I answer and they inform me they are at our house. I explain I had no idea they were coming and we were told it would be two to three weeks. We were not prepared for them, so I tell them I will try to contact my wife since she is working from home and will need to put our 80 pound protective dog up. I cannot get in touch and I call him back to tell him I am still trying. He informs me that they have to leave if 15 minutes passes. I keep trying the wife but no answer so he calls back to inform me they are just going to leave it on the porch. I inform him that they were unexpected and she is there I just need to reach her. I finally get ahold of her and she lets them in after having to put a conference call on hold to resolve this unexpected issue. 10 minutes later I get a call and she is fired up, so I ask what the problem is and she tells me that he said " We need to hire a contractor because the previous home owner had the dishwasher nailed in. It is consider custom and he doesn't have the tools to remove it." then they left leaving the dishwasher in the dinning room. My first question is how? How do you nail a dishwasher in? So I contact the Home warranty company and they say if I get a contractor out to remove it they will schedule someone out the next day. So I get a person to agree to come out and removed the old one. He and I arrive at the house about the same time. As he is getting setup I explain the situation and ask how can you nail a dishwasher in. He looks and says it isn't. He then asks if they were in a hurry and of course we reply yes very much so. In 10 minutes he has the dishwasher SCREWS removed and the washer out and the water lines off and wires capped. Nothing custom a normal install. So I contact the repair guy form sears because he called me and I still have his number to try and get an understanding of what on earth made him think it was nailed in. Also explaining the paperwork he left was for an apartment for a refridgerator. His response yeah all of our paperwork was off today. When I questioned why the hurry he explained he had had to wait to get in in with I informed him had someone called and told us we would have made sure he could have got in quickly to which he responded none of the previous three houses said they got calls. then I asked why on earth did you say it was nailed in he said he made the call on it and that's all he has to do. I explained that I had to pay a separate contractor to come out and remove it because he didn't do his job properly and he made it clear that was not his problem and hung up on me. Due to this companies lack of ability to handle even the simplest part of a delivery and install I have informed the Home warranty company and told them to remove Sears as an option for me when work needs to be done. Meanwhile I now have two dishwashers in my Dinning room and no idea when the new one will be installed and the old one removed and we are scheduled to host a party soon! Thanks, Sears! At least it looks like I am in good company here as most of the reviews are the same bad experiences. Sadly I think that Sears Service will go the same way as Sears stores if they don't find a way to get things changed. read more
