These guys are AWESOME!! I showed up just before they opened as they were staging their inventory in their lot. Every one of their staff gives off a fantastic energy and are very friendly, respectful, helpful , and HONEST!! I came in on a pinch needing a new rear tire badly. They checked their inventory for the rear tire I needed and had one in stock for about the same price as one of the BRANDED dealerships which is typically normal. Service rate was less than $100 hr. And as soon as they were able to clear a bench they got goin! I couldn't be more happy with the service and quality of work these guys did. As I was leaving each staff member made sure I knew to be careful through turns and stops for the first 100 miles. So secrets out guys. Don't let the scooters fool you. took a bike i had just bought used here to have a full run thought after it had a bit of a temper tantrum on the freeway and some oil spillage. The owner seems like the kind of guy I would want to have a beer with. He was incredibly welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in getting my bike back on the road. I told him I had a budget of $200. I got a call a few days later from him informing me he had found the problem and with my permission could fix it and be out the door for $182. My bike was back in my garage within a week. I have told the owner and his crew several times, that they provided the best motorcycle mechanic experience I have ever had (I've been to several other shops in the area and have been not been impressed). Anything for my motorcycle that I have purchased new was bought here. Helmet, gloves, and a replacement visor. The service is excellent. I am a 5'2, sort-of-slender female and a novice rider to boot. The fellow at the front gave me very useful, respectful advice, and he was very friendly. My husband was encouraged not to buy a jacket if it wasn't perfect (so he didn't buy one). I asked for a ziptie and the fellow just gave it to me. Their prices are very reasonable. I left with the sense that they care about what's best for the customers. This place is great. I had them put on a set of tires on my bike. They were super knowledgeable. I talked to Ryan on the phone and he knew the exact size tire sizes for my bike without having to look it up. Tire replacement took about 90 minutes. Very impressed with the crew at S.C.C. I ordered a pin lock insert for my SYMAX III. When I went to pick it up it turned out it was for a different face shield. They happened to have the correct one in stock so they swapped out one for the other, installed it and I was on my way! No extra charge. Spent the rest of my commute trying to fog it up. Impossible! A friend recommended this place to me, as I bought my first scooter in July. The guys are super helpful and seem to be very knowledgeable about their products. I wish they weren't SO busy that they can't with one on one help (like helping find a properly fitted helmet). I'm a relatively new rider and I feel like they're very honest and not just out to make a buck. I was looking at various riding jackets and the guy mentioned that there was a different brand that would probably fit me better. It ended up being $150 cheaper for me! They've replaced my rear tire and installed a Givi box, so I like their shop, too. I really like their frequent shopper card (if you subscribe to their email list), but wish they would have mentioned it the FIRST time I bought stuff, as it would have saved me money. This place f**ked me over. I went through 40 dollars in uber rides to get to and from them which is fine. Then i spent 200 bucks to get a tire put on my rear rim. They were really nice while i was there and was everything i expected for customer service. Then 75 miles later i get a nail in my brand new 200 dollar tire. So i call back and ask to speak with the manager and was told this is the manager and there was no warrenty on my tire and to go fuck myself. What the fuck kind of business is this. Customer service was horrible. When i asked the manager why he diddnt care about his customers he said he couldn't care less. I called seattle cycle yesterday trying to get my honda shadow tuned up since it has been making some not so great noises recently. Ryan was real helpful on the phone and told me to bring it by and someone would look at it when they got a chance. I stop in, and Dave was just finishing up on someones dirtbike, he immediatley noticed some problems with my chain and said he could fix it up quick if i hung out a bit and wait. He only charged me $25 for the chain lube and realignment but he basically did a general tune up on the bike i think because it sounded and rode soooo much better after he had it for just a half hr. Will definitely be returning for future bike work, its a weight off my shoulders to find a mechanic Im confident in and can trust! read more

Ignorant, or not mechanically inclined, beware. This is the second time I have had communication problems with staff at Seattle Cycle. Saturday Aug 27 I took my Vespa in and said I think it needs new brake pads. If you check it out can the work be done today too? He said yes. I left my scooter, killed 2 hours, I didn't hear from them. I thought that would be good news, and that they replaced the pads. Nope. I had to call them! They said it is done, it is the brake pads, and we don't have any in stock. You owe us $50 for labor. How was I to know I had to ask "and do you have those pads in stock". 1/2 hour of their time, 2 hours of my time. My previous communication was very similar. I dropped my scooter off to have an oil change or something. I was quite patient without it. But several days later I called to see if it was done. There was a long pause and I heard pages turning, as he looked through his appointment book, I surmise they didn't book me in. So I said cancel the work order. I couldn't get in the next day to pick up the scooter and they called and threatened to charge me if I didn't come pick it up! Why did I go back? I didn't for over a year. I won't. I do enjoy shopping there, but go elsewhere for service. read more

I took my 2000 Yamaha Roadstar in for service a couple of weeks ago. Their experienced, knowledgeable staff was very helpful to me. It had been awhile since I'd had any work done on the bike, so I didn't know what to expect. Dave, the mechanic was terrific. The bike is running great- as it had been, but even better now. I REALLY appreciated the fact that he didn't try to sell me "a service package", or something I didn't need! It was a service that involved changing all the liquids, but when I drove off for the 6 miles or so back to my house I noticed how in-tune it was running as well. He tightened the handle bars, did a few things beyond what I'd asked. THAT's the kind of business that I want to do business with, and frequent. In addition, I met Ryan and Doug who are in the sales department. I couldn't have been treated with more respect as a customer, and both answered several questions I had cheerfully, with enthusiasm. They are laid back, and zero pressure guys as well, which is a welcoming combination! I couldn't be more pleased, and will surely return next time. read more

I'm a bit torn leaving this review. I wish I could review the guys at the retail/service desk separately from the guys in the garage. A couple of weeks ago, my bike just quit suddenly and left me stranded on I-5 in Northgate. Luckily (or so I thought), Seattle Cycle Center was less than a mile away, so I decided to push my bike there and get some help. The guys at the counter were super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They offered to test my battery for free and we could go from there. Unfortunately, it was completely drained, so I would need to leave it there for at least a few hours to reach full charge in order to get a conclusive test result. They were happy to let me leave my bike there overnight free of charge. The next morning I called them up and they said that the battery had tested fine, so the issue was more serious. At this point, I agreed to let them diagnose the problem (at $95 an hour). Later that afternoon, they called me back and said that the regulator/rectifier was bad and needed to be replaced. They quoted me $211 for the part and an hour of labor to replace it. I thought that this sounded like a lot on both counts, so I did some checking. I called up my regular shop and they were able to get it for $173. Online I was able to find it new for as little as $127. It is also worth mentioning that the regulator is simply bolted to the frame of the bike just below the seat and can be accessed within minutes by removing the fairing and another small panel. We're talking 5-10 minutes off, and 5-10 minutes back on. An hour of labor, huh? I kindly declined the service and told them I'd be back the next day to pick up the bike. When I got there, I thanked them for their stellar service (not being sarcastic here, it was truly amazing), paid the $100 diagnostic fee, and was on my way. I ended up sourcing the part, used, from a low-mileage bike for under $40. Sweet, but I had to wait for it to ship. In the meantime I figured I'd get the bike prepped and ready to go. As I had thought, it took only a few minutes to expose the regulator. Along the way I discovered some very troubling issues with how my bike had been put back together. For one, it looked as though they had slapped the fairing back on with the skill and finesse of a tyrannosaurus rex. One of the retaining clips and a rubber grommet had both been forcibly smashed back into place and nearly destroyed. The other issue was with the battery. Apparently the mechanic couldn't figure out how the battery lead screws worked and had decided instead to jam in little pieces of plastic to hold the nuts in place. Seriously? What did I just pay $100 for, because it clearly wasn't for the conscientious care of my motorcycle. I was beginning to have doubts... As soon as the part arrived, I pulled the old one off, plugged the new one in, and...there was no change at all. After noticing earlier the lack of skill applied to putting my bike back together, I wasn't all that shocked to find that the regulator may not have been the issue after all. So I did some more research and found what seemed like a pretty reliable test to determine whether a regulator/rectifier is still good. Both my original part and the replacement passed with flying colors. Yay. I've now spent another couple of hours this afternoon learning how to properly test my motorcycle's charging system and have determined fairly confidently that it is, in fact, the stator which is at fault. I cringe to think about how many hundreds of dollars more I might have spent with these guys, whose strategy seems to be to throw parts and money at a problem instead of properly diagnosing the issue in the first place. Needless to say, I will not be giving them any further business and I cannot recommend that you do either. read more

I just went to Seattle Cycle Center for the first time to pick up a few items for my new bike and look at their selection of helmets. I was a little leery of going in as some of the women had said that they were mostly ignored. I had the opposite experience, I was greeted twice in the first 60 seconds I was in the store and offered help if I needed it. I'm pretty androgynous but the guys seemed friendly and helped other women while I was in there as well. They didn't have the style of helmet I was looking for which was too bad as I'd have purchased it then. I was told that it would take about a week to come in... so I can get it online faster. Perfectly nice service. Could be a bit more helpful when asked opinions but friendly. Selection was fine if you're looking for a standard, solid colored helmet. (I wanted a white stripe on black) read more
