I came across Secard Pools & Spas at the LA County Fair. My boyfriend is looking to remodel his pool, so we stopped by their booth. I don't know the name of the guy we spoke to, but he gave us a terrible first impression and we will be sure to go elsewhere when remodeling the pool. He approached us and we began to ask about the pools and company background. He responded arrogantly and said well we're only the best pool company in Southern California for the last 65 years... I don't know how with a 3.5 star review on yelp, but anyways my boyfriend continued to ask questions and talk about his plans for his pool. The guy opened his wallet and asked if we'd like a card and we said yes. He then asked about a timeframe of when we were going to remodel and my boyfriend said in April. The guy closed his wallet, did not give us a business card and said April is a bad time and he won't go out to give a free quote. Okay no worries, we're okay with that because three other pool companies we spoke to at the fair were more than helpful and took our information to come out and give a quote. bad experience with warrantee they don't honor . customer service horrible. they ignore phone calls nor return them and emails. even after you have a proof of purchased reciept , pictures of damage of leak on workmanship after they made their money completely get ignored . i tried to resolve it correctly before contacting bbb and was made fun of by a representative . i strongly recommend you look elsewhere besides secard pools and spa in rancho cucamonga ca .where you can be treated with respect, and will honor their warrantee. if i could give it NO " stars i would. maybe this way they will pay attention to their customers. read more

RUN RUN RUN! BAD BUSINESS AND CHEAP QUALITY. I had my pool completely renovated back in mid 2016. I bought a brand new pump, liner, everything. Not even a year in and my pool started to leak. I spent months having them come out and "patching" the liner and it never stopped leaking. It supposedly had holes by the stairs they added in 2016. It never got fixed. They probably came out 7 different times. They tried to blame us saying we must have taken sharp objects into the pool or allowed our dog in and hats how we were getting holes. NEVER. It's an insult to take us for idiots. To add to the disappoint. Our brand new pump fails 1.5 years into it and when we call they said they were going to charge us $250 to come LOOK at it and to fix it about $500 plus parts. It's absolutely ridiculous to have spent thousands of dollars buying new equipment to rebuild my pool for this cheap shit to malfunction and then try to charge me to fix your made in China materials. At this point I'm done wasting my money with this company and I am just going to be draining my pool. DO NOT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY- they're products are made cheap (LINERS/ and everything else) and are over priced. Even the free vacuum they gave us as an apology for fucking up the first time didn't work. It never did. They came to "fix" it ordered a part for it came back and it was the wrong part and the guy never came back. What a joke! Pools are terrible quality and their "repair" guy doesn't know how to patch a thing. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! We left a deposit to have our pool liner replaced. I informed him that the property was currently occupied by tenants but they would be moved out by the 19th of April and I would be moved in by the 20th of April of 2016. I told him that I wanted the pool to be installed by the 20th of April. The 20th came and they scheduled someone for the 25th to come in and "install" my pool. 3 men showed up and demoed the pool. I asked them how long will the whole process take and they said only a few hours (3) to be exact. I thought that was rather fast and they later explained they only came to "clean up the pool and get it ready for the measuring guy." Ok? So later an office lady calls and schedules a measuring guy for the following week and he never showed up. He lied and said no one was home and that there was dogs in the back yard. My husband and I were both home and our dog is indoors. We never heard a door bell, knock, or call (until he "left" the house). When we called him he said "he must have went to the wrong house." And that he'd return later that day. He never showed up. We called the office and complained. The office later called and schedule another measuring for the following week. So now we wasted two weeks where nothing was done. When we learned we wouldn't be getting a pool installed until they submit the order and receive the liner that would take about 2-3 weeks, we complained about the length not being accurate to what was promised and what I precisely asked for at the time of my deposit APRIL 20th 2016. They said they would put a "rush" on the order to compensate. It's been 2.5 weeks and my paid liner has not been delivered nor installed. When asked for a date of delivery they can not answer me. They say they don't know. They called with an install date of June 17, 2016! A WHOLE MONTH LATER! When I complained about the time they said that's all they had because they still don't have my liner in. So you mean to tell me that you put a rush on an item that usually takes 2-3 weeks and it's been 2.5 weeks and you don't have anything yet and won't actually install it until 4 weeks later after delivery? UNACCEPTABLE. When asked again when the liner is expected to get in they say they don't know. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I encourage anyone with the same issues to do so too. read more

Not worth going if you're going to look at what they have in the show room. I was driving by and saw the signs outside that reads "show room" . I went inside and I had to ring the door bell. they asked how can they help me . I would like to see the show room . A guy went to the door and asked what kind of pool did I have .I told him cement and asked what was I looking for I told him led pool light that change color. He replied don't have them they would need to order and they wouldn't be competitive and that they mainly deal with vinyl pools .this was all outside the door . After four in ground pool liner replacements in the past, I am proud to report that Secard was the most professional company I ever used. The liner was measured perfectly (so it fits perfectly), the vermiculite floor was repaired, they even included the bead (instead of popsicle sticks in the corners) and startup chemicals. That was a first for all these things. Bob's bid was within $100 of the other two bids I received, so I say for the money, Secard was definitely the best choice. read more

Long story short at first we were told that a small hole in our pool liner was not covered. After some convincing of the regional sales manager Aaron, they back there product and replaced our liner with a brand new liner. We are very happy that we can again enjoy our summer with our new pool and will once again be shopping at secard. It is not how an issue begins, it is how an issue is handled and resolved. These guys are great. They have a huge selection of hot tubs and small pools, and they don't try to hustle you. Aaron asked a lot of questions, and made sure we were purchasing the right tub for our space and our needs. When we didn't understand some things about how the tub operates and how the chemicals worked, Aaron was very patient on the phone, and even sent someone out once to make sure everything was working correctly. Don't subject yourself to the stress. Select a different company to install your pool. Seemed to go well with original contract, I was in contact with construction regularly and informed them several times that the excavation crew was behind schedule, and not do to weather and I repeatedly was assured they were going to be done. Today on day 5 (Wednesday) I was called to schedule concrete frame install for Monday I informed them the crew was still excavating an the pool is nowhere near the depth needed, and the length of the pool is off by several feet. When the crew left they advised that they were not returning the next day. I called the office and was informed no one was coming out to finish and they are going to try and fit me in the schedule, with no guarantee of when they will finish. They have moved on to other jobs without bothering to finish mine. I was told a supervisor would contact me late tomorrow afternoon and that they had no idea that the job wasn't going to be finished today. read more

I have an islander pool with a salt water filtration system as well as a gas heater. In addition I also have a four person hot tub. In the year since I've had my islander pool I have been extremely satisfied and very well pleased with my pool. From the low key sales approach to the design and install, Secard Pools were professional and great to work with. We worked with Bob Cannon to design a pool that would fit into our small backyard. He came up with a plan that allowed us maximum pool but still allowing space for relaxing around the pool and keeping our full-grown orange trees. Bob had huge headaches working with the city and their building code department but it only impacted the installation by a few weeks. The building crew were amazing. All nice guys who let us know when they were starting and ending each day and kept our yard tidy as they worked. They all helped us to ensure that passing each inspection would be a breeze. The final walkthrough showed us everything we needed to do to keep our pool functioning and clean for years to come. The overall result is an incredible, easy to maintain pool that enhances our small yard. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

The project from start to finish was an absolute nightmare from the construction associates in the office, Robert & Brian Anderson to the construction crews. From crooked walls, bulges in the liner, umbrella hole put in the wrong place, waterfall rock put in wrong & much more. Very sloppy work. For each step a different crew was sent out & they didn't know what they were supposed to do. Crew didn't show up for a scheduled appointment & we didn't even receive a courtesy call. My gates were open & unlocked & my dogs were locked up all day for nothing. We were then threatened that if we didn't finish paying, they would not come out & fix all of their big mistakes that were done by them in the first place. They need to work on their communication nor do they have people skills. Buyer beware. I wouldn't want anyone to go through this nightmare like we did. As of today, no one has even bothered to reach out to us to see if the job is completed. Don't know how this company is allowed to stay in business. read more

We bought a spa here 2 months ago and love it. The sales manager Bob helped us directly and we got a great deal! This is the guy to talk to. All in all, we got about $1,600 off the spa and we got a top of the line unit. Delivery took about 2 weeks and the delivery guys were great. Even tipped them a $20 for lunch. The only down side was that iPod system wouldn't pair with my wife's iPhone and they had to come out for a service call about a week after it was delivered. They did come out within a couple days of the call though so no big deal there. We have friends over in the spa almost every weekend and the kids are in it almost daily. 4 stars because of the iPod issue but great service and a great company to work with. read more

july 10, 2014 time: 09:30 I can't believe Bob Cannon the Owner/operation's manager at the Secard pools/spas rancho cucamonga store, Bob Cannon straight out completely in a rude manner, straight out refused to return my money, hello!! it's my money!!! below is a copy of the letter i wrote them. to whom this may concern, i am writing you to ask for my refund for the item i returned this morning. the small claims dept. informed me that i must make a demand for my refund, i believe i did demand a complete refund several times to bob cannon. bob cannon refused to return my money an issued me his store credit. i refused his store credit. bob cannon disregarded my consumer rights and refused to return my money. consider this e-mail as another attempt to get a complete refund of my money for the item i returned this morning. i will use all available resources available to consumers to pursue to get my money back that was stolen from me by secard pools/spa. i would not recommend this business or bob cannon owner of secard pools/spa to my worst enemy. read more

I'd give negative stars if it were a choice. I hired Secard to redo my vinyl lined pool back in April of last year. They charged me just under 10 K for all the work I had done. Which I paid in FULL. They did a terrible job, they made so many mistakes, they left things half finished they didn't sealed the coping to the vinyl, left gaps all in the piping around the edge of the pool and literally a HOLE in the corner of the pool where they didn't attach the vinyl properly. RJ, sold me on a new mulit-speed motor explaining that I would qualify for $1k rebate with the LADWP for replacing my single motor. What they failed to do is have the proper license/ certificate required by the state to install that motor for the rebate. The same certificate they - RJ and Brian GUARANTEED me multiple times before the work was done that they had and that they did these rebates all the time .....LIES!!!!! So now I am stuck, my rebate has been denied 2 different times from the city and now I have no choice but to file with the courts and sue. These guys stink ..I am supposed to have a 10 year warranty I have ZERO FAITH they will honor that so god forbid something every happens in the next 9 years I will most likely have to sue them again. WORST PLACE EVER!! by far the worst costumer service ive ever encountered. plus all the false information they give you about the spas. i specifically bought a brand new spa so i wouldnt have to deal with any problems, and if there were they'd be under warranty. i wasnt looking for special treatment but maybe some correct information would be nice from the world worst manager BOB! saying "oh ya, the spa only take 30 minute to eat up once its installed and cost only $1/day in electricty, maybe less." LIES LIES LIES. it initially took 24 hours to heat up and i no one told me i haf to keep it at certain degrees fo rit to work properly (about 95-98) so i call and ask if im doing something wrong and they say they'll send a maintanence guy. get there and tells me every visit is $110. FOR WHAT?! i have no idea. Bob is almost NEVER reachable cause he has no idea what hes talk about. once it was installed i was told what kind of volage it needed, by Bob of course. WRONG! i had to get an electrician to fix it which cost me $1500! now, 5 weeks later it is working properly but my electric bill is at least $60-80 more a month. do yourself a favor and buy a hotub elsewhere. I'm very selective who I do business with and give my money to as I prefer dealing with family owned & operated small businesses as well as support local economy. Arron (salesmanager) & Bob via phone did a really good job as did Ashley (office manager) in getting me the spa I wanted/needed in a timely manner. I was in the market for a larger spa with lots of features and jets but was on a tighter budget. Other places I went including Spa shows made me feel like they could'nt be bothered unless I wanted a $10,000 unit. Not true at Secard though these guys took care of me upon arrival to showroom and respected the budget I had to work with and so I made a purchase that day and left happy with my purchase made. Expecting to have to wait 3-4 weeks like other companies, I was pleasantly surprised when Arron told me spa would be delivered and put in place following week. I got my contractor to the house day before to prep the wiring and area and am now enjoying my new spa almost daily. One of the worst services I have experienced. My husband and I continued to be surprised at the manipulation and non truths we were told. Of course it was all well and good before we put down our deposit, then it was crickets. Several non truths about timelines, and lack of communication lead us to decide to not move ahead with our plan. Once we notified them, they quickly submitted for permits, then said " we have been waiting on permits" AND since we submitted for them, we need to charge you for those! They didn't realize we checked with our city and found out when permits were submitted, which was after we let them know we are not happy and want to cancel. . They don't have the "person in charge" give you a call, they exploit their sales and customer service team to have to say "sorry I don't make the decisions" then when you want to discuss with who does, you have to search around for his contact info. Please save yourself and go with a company with integrity. Getting a pool is something that should be a happy time, now we have to lawyer up to avoid fees for services not rendered! read more
