My wife and I have been toying with the idea of getting a small spa for quite some time. We did some homework online, looking at different models and companies in the area. When we finally were ready to purchase, we headed one day with a plan to stop at 6 locations in our area. The first one happen to be Secard. We were met and helped by Mr. Kidder, one of owners. He was very patient and informative as we asked many questions. He walked us thru the warehouse of their inventory showing us the different models. We left there feeling very good about what we had seen, but wanted to do our due diligence in looking at the other places we planned to see. Within a couple of hours, it became very obvious that what we had seen at Secard's was by far the best fit for us. A big company, celebrating 60 years, that happened to be in our neighborhood, with the model and price that would fit us perfectly. Worst experience buying a spa. No communication whatsoever from the staff only when the spa is done. When the spa takes 7 months to get and you set up a delivery date. Then the delivery date they gave us, we get told that we were never set up for delivery for that day. After this experience and spending 20k on a spa. In 2017 we installed a saltwater pool and standup Spa by Secard. We are extremely happy with our pool/spa. The install went off without a hitch and stayed right on price point. Buyers beware! I purchased one of the soft sided splash-a-round pools in April of 2014 and the seams through out the perimeter of the pool are starting to ripple back and separate. I have sent in pictures to Aaron showing the damage since the pool does have a 5 year warranty and he sent back a response stating they would not be able to replace my liner that they have created a file that the could refer back to for future reference. I call everyday for last 3 days. I ask for Bob, they ask my entire name and what this in regards to?! He's a salesman and the only one. He should not be screening calls. I purchased one of those Dream Maker spas from Secard when they were at the LA County Fair. Yes that was the me, the moron eating an ice cream cone checking out the spas there and somehow I had to have one. I was planning on a Softub but Laurie talked me into getting the Dreammaker because squirrels would rather gnaw on foamy material than hard plastic. Made sense. She gave me a flyer and I went home to do some research & get one of them 21 months no interest credit cards, hehehe. When I came back to buy, Earl was there to do the paperwork and the spa was delivered a couple weeks later. The guys who delivered it were xlnt with answering questions and helpful. I wish I could put a pool in my yard but I live in the ghetto but the spa fits nicely. Secard Pools rocks & anyone who is in the market for a spa or pool should see them and they have locations all over So Cal. but the Rancho Cucaracha is the main HQ. My pool liner had no border. They charged me an extra 375$ to add sand which they never warned me might happen. They installed a new track for the liner on top of the old one so it sticks out from under the ledge and looks horrible. The salesman never told me that was how they installed the new track when he convinced me to buy it. They acted like they were doing me a huge favor by not charging me 250$ dollars for removing a tiny root. We talked about removing the root when the sales guy was here and he never mentioned that they charge for that. As of now I have left a message and haven't heard back yet. Edit: In lieu of replacing the liner, they did not charge me for the sand and gave me a 100$ gift card to Secard. That is better than nothing. I agreed as to not have to deal with emptying the pool and all of that again. I will note, however, that the contract states it is to be completed in 40 days. We are now 50 days in and it is still not completed yet. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! It took this company 2 months to APPLY for a permit ! When we ask to be let out of contract, they still made up pay another $3000 for "fees". They had us thinking they submitted a permit for 2 months and when we asked, they told us they forgot//messed up somewhere in the paperwork. Then the permit was obtain in one day. My husband I went to Secard's looking for a new hot tub. Gloria showed us around and told us that the prices will go up in a couple of weeks. One week later I called another Secard's and was told that the price on the same spa had gone up the previous day. Called Gloria back and asked if they would honor the price she initially quoted. She said that they would if we came in on Monday (it was late Friday when I called). She sat us down and was very friendly. She told us the spa would be delivered in two weeks and it was. We had an issue with one of our head rests and three of our LED lights were not working. We had a horrible experience with you all. I spoke to Aaron over the phone and he asked me for a loan of $50,000 to start the islander pool project. He would not even invite us to the showroom or see our house for a quote. I was very interested in building a pool so I made an appointment and we spoke to Aaron in person. He saw our house via satellite and we told him what we were interested in building a pool. He said he would provide us with a quote and plan. The crew came out on June 18th to install our saltwater filtration system and could not finish. We were told "someone" would come on the same day to finish. Nope. Played back and forth with the office and did get updates unless I called them and I had to deal with Robert who was rude and dismissive. Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Been fighting with them for almost AN ENTIRE YEAR. Our Swim-Spa finally got delivered after battling with their awful customer service for months. IT WAS DELIVERED WITH SEVERAL CRACKS AND LEAKS (oh but supposedly this never happens. apparently we are just that unlucky. Totally believable.) They had to take it away. Fast forward another month without the spa we paid for. Its delivered again. This time with MORE problems. Missing the wifi component that we paid for. Guess how long it takes to get them to come back out? You guessed it. MONTHS. Customer service is abhorrent. Dealing with the combined incompetence of Secard and Cal-Spas is not worth the effort. If you're in the market for anything pool/Spa related run as far away from Secard and Cal-Spas as you can. read more

This company is not the best - they omitted important details when selling me the pool (like that it would have a very narrow bottom floor) - then installed a ridiculous timer that is meant for lawn lights and is so frikken complicated even their own guys struggled to set it. And once you have your pool, they won't come out and service it and don't have any recommendations of people who can come and help you. Of course, some of the people I dealt with at Secard were lovely and tried hard to be accommodating, but overall this is a shabby outfit with little concern about upkeep and follow through once they have "sold" you. read more

From giving us a timeline to complete our pool that went months beyond, to finding ALL the cement under the liner was fully cracked. It took them 3 weeks after we reported the problems to come to repair it. But here is the kicker- the pool is only a few months old and never been used yet!!! We have had a Secard Islander Pool for over 20 years. Lately we converted it to salt water, we have added waterfalls, and a second intake line. This is our problem. The intake line appears to have proper suction but no water is reaching the pump. We called Secard. Oh they don't do out of warranty repair work!! So sorry. We know you're a valued customer but we just don't want to repair our work. So she gives me someone who "might" do the repair. His name is Bo. That's it !! No company, no last name. Started the process in May but had an emergency and had to put the process on hold. I was called several times to start the process, finally i was able to be back in the state and start the pool construction [July 1st] and after being called so many times to start up they give me an appointment that was 30 days from the date i called. That was the excavation phase then my back yard sat with a GIANT hole in it for over a month. Then the second phase was the upper portion to be built...STILL i had the GIANT HOLE [September]. Finally i called the construction company to ask when was the contract breach date since this was 3 months with the GIANT HOLE in my back yard, thats when they scheduled 3 days in a week and finished up the day before [October 31st] the contract breach date of November 1st. When the workers finished the pool i asked where were the supplies/vacuum/chemicals i also was supposed to get? the worker stated the he just spoke with the man with the start up supplies and vacuum and he would be coming in about 20 minutes to bring my PAID FOR items. Well he never showed, i called the construction office they state he's not answering he will call you tomorrow to 'set up' a time when he will come. NO call like she said 'tomorrow', so i emailed about no call or supplies delivered yet. My pool has sat since Friday with NO PAID IN FULL chemicals or vacuum.... delay after delay with this construction pool company. I am going to post this review on FB, instagram, trip advisor and seacard pools site! Choose anyone else is what i told 3 of my friends who were going to purchase. I came across Secard Pools & Spas at the LA County Fair. My boyfriend is looking to remodel his pool, so we stopped by their booth. I don't know the name of the guy we spoke to, but he gave us a terrible first impression and we will be sure to go elsewhere when remodeling the pool. He approached us and we began to ask about the pools and company background. He responded arrogantly and said well we're only the best pool company in Southern California for the last 65 years... I don't know how with a 3.5 star review on yelp, but anyways my boyfriend continued to ask questions and talk about his plans for his pool. The guy opened his wallet and asked if we'd like a card and we said yes. He then asked about a timeframe of when we were going to remodel and my boyfriend said in April. The guy closed his wallet, did not give us a business card and said April is a bad time and he won't go out to give a free quote. Okay no worries, we're okay with that because three other pool companies we spoke to at the fair were more than helpful and took our information to come out and give a quote.
