Second Opinion Plumbing was quick and responsive to my clogged sink issue. Albert was very courteous by taking the time to explain my problem to me and initially resolve the issue. A couple days later the issue returned and identified an underlying issue that was the main cause. Within a span of a week he found time to come out on three separate occasions to finally fix the decades worth grease build up and did not overcharge like larger companies I had tried to contact before them. My hot water heater is putting out brown water. I called my home warranty people and they assigned Second Opinion Plumbing. I had an appointment set up for me by them and my home warranty people. SOP never showed. I call SOP and they asked me to take photos of the hot water. I did and sent them. A plumber from SOP never came to my home. I called back when they did not come out and was told they would come out and replace the water heater prior to Thanksgiving. They did not show. The "24-7 phone goes unanswered and their machine if full. I sent emails and got no response. Now here it is Monday and I had to call several times to get to talk to a person. 9:07 am. I was told the claim was not submitted. I asked why? and she told me, "Look do you want me to submit this or not" If you looking for a plumber to not answer their phone and not show up to appointments you have came to the right place. read more

TL;DR: Plumbers couldn't install a brand new water heater correctly. This seemed like it would go well- but turned out to be a disaster. My electric water heater went out and my warranty company approved a replacement. I'd already been without hot water a few days so Second Opinion worked fast to replace it same day. I was delighted and thanked them. I really had thought that i lucked out. But the hot water never worked- something was wrong with the install. They were recalled and came back - turns out that they didn't install it correctly- "loose wire nut" holding wires to connect power. So it was fixed and they left. But once again it was not getting hot- so they were recalled once again. This time they swore that the electrical conduit was broken. They said it would only work from a certain position. Also I found out that an electrical breakaway box was code, and they said they knew that but aren't electricians - yet it was disappointing that they hadn't told me that on the install. Also the earthquake straps were installed wrong when I bought the house- I mentioned this as well and they agreed... but didn't fix it. They installed a water heater and didn't want to put the straps on up to code even though they knew this would get kicked back in an inspection. Anyway, different electricians came in and discovered that Second Opinion just didn't know how to connect the wires to the heater. They just needed to be crimped and twisted- very easy and basic. I appreciate that Second Opinion came back several times and that they tried. Also the techs were nice guys and seemed to do their best. But they couldn't do this install correctly or bring things up to code. Didn't inform me of inspections that had to be done or what would be required from additional electrical work- i had to find that out on my own. They couldn't even do the basic task of installing the water heater correctly. I feel bad leaving this review because they really tried. I just think they might need more training. read more

My mom elderly had a water heater installed new. Next day it didnt work. They came back out then it worked then didnt work right off and on for about 6 months. After about 10 calls to them and warranty they said everything fixed. But never worked right. Poor mom had to go through this. Then week ago maggie said to my mom after she called again saying it doesnt work. Maggie said we dont service your location anymore. Then after fighting more they came out again said it worked. But it didnt so we called gas company and they said part was installed wrong your lucky house didnt blow up. Unreal so mad my elderly mom had to go through this. read more

4th plumbing company I used in a month including one that my warranty company offered me that tried to up sale me and redew all my plumbing charging up to 6500$ on a simple bathroom sink that was clogged and me using sizzle liquid that works well but still didn't unclog all the way this company second opinion came and unclogged it in 5 minutes thankfully I'm relieved I spend 135 on them after a 6500$ estimate from ideal services that my warranty company is only assigned to which gave me that 6500$ estimate to install a sink removal and put new plumbing cause they couldn't unclog the drain simple upsale on this companies but second opinion was awesome Albert the plumber fixed my problem asap thank you . read more

We made the appointment weeks ago b cause we were only going to be in town a couple of days and needed a clogged toilet fixed in our condo. The condo HOA already had a plumber come out and diagnose the issue. We called Second Opinion the delay before they came out to tell them what the other plumber said and what the tech would need to bring. Waited around all day for someone to show up with a clipboard and no tools. The office hadn't told him anything. He didn't bring anything. He said he was here to look at the problem and take some notes. I protested as we were only in town for a couple of days. He called his supervisor. Supervisor said "sorry...it doesn't look like we are going to be able to help you" and they left me an invoice for $75 for 90 seconds of saying "hmmm. I'll have to call my supervisor." What a joke of a company Here is an update: we called the home warranty company & told them what happened. They sent another company, Ideal Services put in less than 2 hours. They worked for several hours and fixed the problem. read more

These guys were sent to be by Old Republic Home Warranty. First off, they were supposed to contact me. Never happened. Finally I called them. The first appointment was between 2-5pm. Guy showed up at 5:45 saying he tried to call and tell me he was running late. I hadn't gotten a call and come to find out they had my number written incorrectly. I asked them to fix it. They said they would call after they had the parts for my repair. They never called. A week later I finally called them. Lady said they had the wrong number, and for the second time I corrected her telling her my correct number. The second appointment was from 1-4pm. At 4pm no one had yet to show and I had a flight to catch so I had to leave. I was hoping they would call at least but I'm guessing they still have my wrong number down. At this point I'm not even sure I want to attempt a third appointment. If these guys can't fix my number the first two times I tell them that it's wrong I'm not felling so confident in their plumbing skills. read more

Aaron came to evaluate our leaking water softener. He could not repair it so he replaced it through our home owner warranty. I have no complaints about his work that pertains to that service. However, when he removed the old leaking water softener, he failed to secure it and make sure it didn't spill on our street. He left a trail from our house to the exit and, unfortunately, our street sweeper came behind him in a few hours and the salty water was dragged throughout our community. I have contacted their office manager numerous times and no resolution has taken place. I'm being fined by the HOA for each day it is not cleaned up. It's Day 6 and no resolution and very poor communication. Workmanship was good. Follow up on responsibilities of their company....huge fail. read more

Had some issues with our bathroom drains and our garbage disposal wasn't working. I turned in our dishwasher and black water came flooding through our sink. We called Second Opinion Plumbing and Steven was sent over. He was so knowledgeable about everything that was going wrong and even took the time to teach me a few things. Sent this email to second opinion plumbing about one of their disgusting employees and never received any kind of response of apology. Really professional. I wouldn't recommend letting their employees in your home or business if this is how they behave. Email: Hello,  Whatever employee you had driving this van today needs to be fired. I was driving north on the US 95 near Sunset/Galleria area. and he intentionally cut me off on the freeway, two times in a row, almost hitting me. This was a little after 5pm so there was traffic and he slammed on his brakes causing the tires to burn rubber and smoke up, just to cause me to slam on my brakes as well. Apparently he didn't like that I honked at him for almost hitting me.  I guess he saw me taking a picture of his van because he decided to stick his head/hand out of the window and began making inappropriate (sexual) hand gestures. After he got passed me I saw that he recklessly cut off several more cars almost causing multiple accidents. This guy is disgusting and going to cause an accident. I manage a general contracting company and I would revoke an employees driving privileges if I found out he was driving this way. The guy in charge to send out his technician to install a new water heater in my house is very rude and bully. After more than 1 month, the new water heater installed by his technician did not work; and we did not have hot water for few days in the winter. They came to my house 5 months ago and ran a camera service...they didn't mark the location of the issue with the pipe and the tech explained to me that there was a belly in the old cast iron pipe. I finally saved up enough money to get the problem fixed and and called them back. They wanted to recharge me to do another camera scope because they didn't record the location the first time which is part of the service. They also said that in the notes it was a break in the pipe and not a belly. I was trying to give them the job but told them they needed to discount their scope service since they didn't record the info correctly. They refused to discount the scope service and the two ladies at the desk were very rude. Please save your money and time. read more

I was referred to this terrible plumber from my home warranty company. After explaining the issue over the phone to 2nd Opinion Plumbing they were quick to have a technician come out. During their first visit they saw my toilet bowl was not filling correctly. The technician didn't have the part on him so he'd be back in a few days - not a big deal. Then I saw the stains he left on my carpet which stemmed from my stairs to my guest bathroom about 40 feet. I immediately called the owner and he assured me it would be taken care of when the technician came back out. The technician just came to my house and told me "I'm not cleaning your carpet, you'll need to figure that out by yourself." I called the owner twice while the technician was still there and he wouldn't answer. A couple hours has gone by and still no answer or call back. Don't waste your time with these inadequate, unprofessional and lying pieces of garbage. **In response to the owner's review left after my review*** That is completely false, I contacted your business for weeks after this and never heard anything back. I finally went back to the home warranty company (as well as the contractors board) whom I hoped ended your contract. These people are unprofessional and completely rude. I wouldn't suggest using these guys to my most bitter enemy. If you are in need of work look somewhere else. I was told by the rude guy on the phone there would be someone at my place in between 12 and noon (fyi hmmm) the next day for my garage door. Needless to say 12 and noon pass by and I'm calling but only get a voice-mail. When they finally chose to pick up my call (never calling me back for an hour) he claims he told me between noon and three which I would understand if he did but he didn't. Then he curses and hangs up on me when I pleaded with him to get someone out as soon as he could. Then he calls me back trying to threaten me not to have animosity toward his worker so I told him not to even bother hanging up on him. In my thirty-five years of living I have never been so disrespected in my life. You're better off with anyone else. I don't usually do reviews but this is felt needed to be done. This company doesn't deserve one star! They are terrible!! My warranty company called this second rate company to service a leaking refrigerator shut off valve. 1. They told the warranty company that the valve did not fail due to noremal wear and tear. They also told the warranty company that it showed signs of damage. Not true! I have the valve and the opinion of another plumbing company that states the valve (which is 28 years old) is simply faulty. They succeeded in convincing the warranty company no tto do the repair. This is a tactic used by service providers to get you to pay a higher price out of your pocket. Luckily I contested this and got a real "second opinon" who the warranty company listened to and will be replacing the valve. 2. When they went to shut the water off to the house to diagnose the valve they broke the valve that shuts the water off to the house. I have nad no water in the house for 10 days! I have had to run hoses from my neighbor just to keep my grass alive. Their "senior technician" Jonathan was supposed to look at the broken valve. When he called me to tell me he was on the way, he said it would matter because they weren't responsible. He wouldn't even come out and look at the problem because they insist they didn't touch the valve. I was on the phone with the plumber when he was closing the valve!!!! The house is vacant and there has been no other plumbers on site until today. Second Opinion could've broke the valve to try to drum up business. I will never know exactly what they did, but I will take the broken valve as evidence. I will see these guys in court. Unethical, no sense of responsibilty or customer service. There are plenty of plumbers in Las Vegas. Do yourself a favor and hire someone professional, not these crooked bums! read more

If I could give this company less than one star I would. I am a first time home buyer and my home warranty company sent out this complete joke of a company to look at why my washing machine doesn't get cold water. The plumber was nice enough although he jumped all over my washing machine. He didn't have the part he needed to fix my machine but he would be back in a few days. As soon as he left I put some clothes in the machine and went about my business. I was sitting downstairs when I heard a waterfall splashing onto my tile. I look up and there's water streaming out of my vent and run upstairs to see that my entire laundry room, hallway, and part of my guest bedroom is covered in about half an inch of water. I immediately called the phone number of the plumber that came out but he didn't pick up. I called the company number 14 times before I got an answer with an attitude completely lacking any empathy or concern. The woman on the phone said that she could have someone come back at 8:00 PM. Completely unacceptable! When the plumber came back out he stated over and over that this was not his fault. How could this not be his fault. There was no leak what so ever before this guy shows up and now there is. Now I'm stuck 3 days later with a warped ceiling, no resolution, and no call back from the so called manager who seems to be to concerned with other things than taking care of his customers. Update: I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait to post this. However the "manager" Henry declined to call me back so I called and spoke to him only to have him say that they will not be taking responsibility for the incompetence of the plumber and hung up on me. My landlord gave me their number threw old republic home warranty to set up an apt after they failed to call me for my water heater. I made the apt for today with a 3 hour window 10-1pm. By 1:25 I called them and he said the guy was running late that he would be here in 30. When he finally got here I explained the problem and the problem with the guy who had came before him that attempted to fix it. He said no worries and said it was fixed 10 minutes later and asked to feel the hot water. The water was hot but I explained to him this is what happened two days ago, The guy said it was fixed and once he left an hour later my water would no longer be hot. Well the same thing happened AGAIN. So beyond frustrated by now I call the main office number and I kept getting an out of service tone. I then call the technicians cell and he tells me he's going to call the warranty company. 20 minutes goes by without a call back so i call him back and he blocked me!! I then call him from another phone number and the idiot answers and says sorry you need to call the warranty company yourself. All and all I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I still can't get ahold of the main office and I still have no hot water. After reading all of these horrible reviews I can't believe the warranty company still deals with this unprofessional type of business. Im hoping the second company my home warranty people send out are better than this company. Tech came out to look at garbage disposal. I showed him where the housing unit was cracked and leaking. He never turned on unit, took 2 pictures of unit and left. 1 week later I call to see about repair. Im told they preformed a clean out and removed a spoon from disposal.no mention of crack/leak. Home warranty stands by their report. Now we wait, Im not encouraged as I checked reviews of new company, not much better than this one. read more

This company is a rip off. American home shield sent them out, they were very courteous and seemed to know what they were talking about. When they submitted the claim to AHS, they said they wanted an additional 800.00 due to additional plumbing work needed. They are replacing a Mani bloc, it is completely assembled and cost around 350-400.00 and takes a plumber about an hour to install. AHS is paying them 975.00 to replace it, which means that they are making 575.00 to install the product, and then wanted an additional 800.00. When it was called to the attention of both the company and AHS, they reduced the install to 400.00 on top of the 575.00 they are getting from the warranty company. Needless to say we did not go with them. I had another company Ideal Plumbing come out and they replaced it for exactly what they were getting paid from the warranty company. Hired this company through our home owner's insurance which can be nerve wrecking not knowing what you're going to get. Our plumber was so nice, friendly and had no complaints about my annoying barking dogs! Fast and quality service. Our appointment time was between 9am and 12pm and he called at about 10am that he would arrive in 20-30mins and he showed up just on time. Eric J was SO AWESOME and he even went out of his way to fix my dumb soap dispenser. When I tried to refill it myself I unscrewed it incorrectly and nearly broke it. He not only FIXED my screwing mistake BUT he kindly refilled the dispenser for me - such a gentleman! I will definitely be calling Second Opinion Plumbing again and will do my best to make sure Eric J helps us out again! :) read more
