I told them i was a beginner and looking for my first board and they sold me the COMPLETELY WRONG board. Nice enough people who TOTALLY SCREWED ME! I called them after i had a lesson and was explained the board i had was ALL wrong for my size and the surf around here and they offered me $30 for a board they had just weeks earlier sold to me for $120. Jerks for sure. Never shopping here again and definitely NOT recommending this crap shack. read more

I headed out of the house on a mission! Used funboard, surfboard, is what I was after. I had a few places on my list that sell used boards. This was my first stop. They have actually have a decent selection for such a small shop. And! I found exactly what I was looking for. An 8' funboard for under $200. And they have a bunch of wetsuits of which I grabbed a spring suit for my daughter. Oh! Don't forget surf rack pads and tie downs! Yep, they had those too. One stop shop. So as soon as you walk in they make you sanitize ! Not everything is "cheap" but most of their things are good quality so, you get what you pay for. I believe the door stated that on certain days you need to make appointments to come in but not on all days, so feel free to call in advance. I got lucky and went on a day where it was open to everyone I believe they do have a capacity for people allowed inside at the moment due to COVID. It's a mom and pop shop and they're sweet, they answer your questions, but kind of keep to themselves which I enjoy as I don't like people following me around as I shop, it is a small space but they have EVERYTHING sports wise you can possible think of ! Anyways love it I got snow bibs recently for 50$ each, and I have also gotten baseball gloves ranging from 10-45$, I've seen bikes, snowboards, snow boots, beenies, fleece socks, roller blades, you name it they probably have it ! read more

Fantastic find!!! The shop has a great selection, and the owners are super friendly. We were happy to learn they guarantee their bikes for 30 days. I took mine on a road test after I bought it and discovered the back tire had a leak, so I brought it back and they fixed it up FAST, even though they were about to close. I wish there was another star I could give them! We'll definitely be back for our other sporting goods needs ... and I highly recommend you check them out yourself!!! read more

I was excited to check out the place after seeing so many bikes and boards outside on Topanga. Unfortunately the day I did stop in, there were not that many bikes for sale. I was looking for a toddler bike with some training wheels and the guy who worked there just flat out did not know anything about bikes. Rather than being honest and say he didn't know the answers to some questions, he did his best to try and sound like he knew his stuff in hopes of making a sale. That's a big no-no in my book. I don't think I'll go back. The prices, by the way, were not as great as I had hoped for second hand goods. read more

This place is awesome! They offer used goods from locals in the area at a great price. While looking for a bike rental for the day, and calling around only to realize how ridiculously overpriced these places are (wheel world), I decided to just buy a used mountain bike. Ended up costing me $50 to buy a mountain bike- cheaper than any place in the area charged for a DAY rental. Think outside the box- buy used goods! Not everything as to be brand new. read more

I needed a small but important item, a leash for my wetsuit that zips up the back, so I stopped into the new shop and met Chad. He was awesome! He did not have one but made one up quick as a wink! Chad refused payment but I was so grateful that I forced on him the princely sum of one dollar. He said he would open up his own 401K with the profits. Outstanding! This is a great spot! Convenient right off the 134 so I dropped in to maybe get some used fins, and found some NEW cheaper than anywhere online. The staff was very helpful and I even bought an extra bodyboard because the price was so good. I was surprised at the awesome variety of sports stuff in here, golf clubs to really nice prices on surf boards. I wish I could give more stars! I want to tell everyone about Second Wind Sports, I came across this store by searching on yelp little did I know how welcoming and awesome Chad the owner would be. I figured this store would be like Play it Again Sports or any other sporting goods store, never really knowing or caring if you got the right equipment just caring about the sale. Not here, it was more like going to your friends house telling them about the new sports your into and them saying hey I got something perfect for you. That's Chad, he cares. He hooked me up with a beautiful Victoria fiberglass skim board, showed me how to wax it up, gave me some tips on where to go locally and had me leaving his store with a big smile on my face. Second Wind Sports has a nice selection of surfboards, boogie boards, skim boards, wet suits, skateboards, baseball gear... You name it they have it.
