Definitely one of my top 5 favorite Mexican food restaurants. The pozole is excellent, with a lovely variety of flavors and the perfect amount of heat, and comes with a heaping bowl of diced onions, cabbage, and limes to dress up your soup as you see fit. Street tacos run $2-3 each, and it's a fun way to sample their offerings which consist of both traditional flavors and unique combinations (the adobo steak and birria are my favorites). The watermelon/cucumber agua fresca is so refreshing, and the pumpkin horchata is dangerously delicious. Portions are more than ample - I should have just stuck with the pozole, which along with the soft, flavorful flour tortillas, was more than a meal... But their tacos are just too yummy to resist. The food is delicious, but equally delicious is the location. Mercado San Agustin has a lovely courtyard that you'll want to sit in for hours, drinking in the ambiance and maybe a bit of dappled sunshine. La Estrella shares space here as well, and is a great place to grab some dessert (try the tres leches cake!) after you've indulged yourself at Seis. Make it a destination so that you have time to peruse the neighboring shops. You'll be glad you did. read more

Wow. What a gem! Seis is exactly the reason great food needs to be shared. What started out as a Food Truck here in Tucson expanded to a brick and mortar based on sheet demand. Located on the perimeter of a quaint Public Market, this amazing eatery adjoins a number of other establishments which offer a similar uniquely intimate Arizonan experience. There is a common open-air courtyard in the center of the Market, and plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate casual diners who have made this a destination. 80% of ingredients used in Seis's menu are locally produced, and the freshness shines through in everything from the salsas to the flavor-packed grilled meats. The Al Pastor tacos are a perfect unison of salty and sweet and fresh crispness. Today was my lucky day! Although I had been to the Mercado San Agustin a few times for other events and Seis always caught my eye. They always seemed to be busy which is a good sign. When I visited early in the afternoon and it was a very nice spring day. The dining area at the Mercado is a very pleasant outdoor environment. The tables were nicely shaded, clean and inviting. I tend to not want to eat outdoors in Tucson due to the elements but I found it very comfortable there. I had the Tacos Grande Barrila which is (from their menu) "Red chile braised shredded beef, shredded cabbage, guacamole, cilantro, red onion, queso fresco." It was very well prepared and so good! I wishes I had eaten there sooner! Having lived in Tucson for over a decade it was one of the best Mexican food experiences I've had. There is plenty of easily accessible parking. For those that enjoy great food and a nice but relaxed open air, community vibe I think the charm of the experience will lead you back over and over. read more

This place has all the vibes! Great music, outdoor seating, the energy of people laughing and talking, really cool place to chill in the evening and have a few different options of where to eat since it's in an open market with other restaurant choices. One time I ordered the taquitos with spicy sauce on side and it wasn't as good of an experience. The shredded chicken filling was very bland and hardly seasoned, I had to keep dunking it in the sauce to get more flavor kick. If the filling was more seasoned, I just know it would've been 5 stars. On a good note, it tasted of fresh ingredients! Another time I ordered the barbacoa quesadilla and it tasted pretty good but very oily and hard to finish. The Agua Fresca was on point though, watermelon limon was yummy and refreshing! Overall, the food is presented so well but the taste doesn't live up to its appearances and the fruity drinks are amazing. I've gone to Seis the last two Sunday mornings for breakfast, and it's been a great experience both times. The breakfast torta's are the best!! It's so much food. The beans and salsa and so flavorful and spiced perfectly! The roasted potatoes are perfectly crisped. I love the Mercado setting, it's relaxing and energizing at the same seeing the cyclists and walkers, stop in for something to eat. The service is good, and the server gave us good advice on what we should order. I was skeptical because I really love the last Mexican restaurant that was located here, but it was perfect!! read more

So, I have been here for lunch with friends and for breakfast with my husband. It's, "shrugs shoulders" eh. It is overpriced in our opinion. I do not think the food is anything to go out of your way. It's better than Taco Bell but not as good as Crossroads. Frankly, I would recommend you pass it by and go somewhere better. My husband had the Padre Burrito, he said it was a bit dry and the hot salsa was ridiculously hot. He likes hot salsa but he said he felt there was no flavor just burn your tongue heat. Wow that was good! I was visiting Tucson for the weekend and searched for a good lunch spot. Browsing all the photos, they were speaking to me. I had salad bowl, agua fresca and added grilled shrimp. Very complicated to accurately review this restaurant. You have to stand and wait in line to order and pay and after that you are assigned a table in the open courtyard. No liquor from restaurant and you are asked for a tip before you receive service! Wrong order with tip before service. We ordered and are assigned a high table w stools no backs after we had stood in line for 30 minutes to order. Then I have to get my alcoholic beverage by standing in another line across the courtyard from the restaurant but my food is served and gets cold while I'm doing that. They bring me fresh hot food but it's not the food I ordered so not appetizing. They moved us to a table w regular chairs because my back hurt. A bit chilly. My friend and I went at 6:30pm on a Wednesday and it was packed. You order, pay, and then grab a number where the food is then brought to you. The wait was long, about half an hour and then food was another 20 min, so we were getting a little hungry by the time food came. But it was worth it. My friend got the Adobo taco plate (comes with three tacos) and I was feeling adventurous with the fried avocado plate. We both really enjoyed our food and shared. We also got chips and salsa. The spiciest salsa wasn't super hot, but had a lot of flavor. I would recommend going at a later time maybe, closer to close because you can still eat after they close and there wasn't a line then. The location is in this large, shared courtyard so it's open after they close since you pay beforehand. The courtyard is outdoors but has nice lights and decor. If it's chilly they have heaters. The atmosphere is all locals, and a lot of people brought their families. Dress is pretty casual, but could dress it up for date night if you wanted. read more

Seis Kitchen is great, a wonderful place to enjoy an informal meal of delicious Mexican food, sitting outside surrounded by families enjoying each other on a beautiful, late Tucson afternoon. We shared chips & guacamole, a single taco, and a bowl of Pozole. The Pozole was the big hit. It's a humongous bowl of tomato-based broth, just slightly (to my taste) spicy, chock full of hominy and beans. There was also quite a lot of tender pieces of shredded beef, some in almost every spoonful. We loved it but even with both of us eating our share,we couldn't finish it. It's served with a hot tortilla. We also had delicious watermelon cucumber drink. You wait at the counter and then pleasant staff deliver your meal to nice wooden tables.
