I called select home improvements on a Friday. I spoke with a very nice lady who answered my questions. I had just purchased a home in Hemet. What we didn't know when we bought was that the window seals were broken. I could feel the heat through the window. When I told lady she was able to setup an appointment for the next day. A technician arrived prompt at 10 AM. His name was Myles and showed me the ANLIN windows and I was enamored by the heat lamp demonstration. After answering all my questions he measured the windows and I was pleasantly surprised with the price for the quality. The following week they came out and replaced all the windows. I had 7 windows and a sliding door changed. I had a similar experience as mentioned in previous reviews. There were several representatives that come out and that I spoke with, beginning with a sales person. I was referred by a friend who had a positive experience. One of the reps helped me correspond with my HOA which went surprisingly well, with one exception. Due to my HOA inflexibility, I had to make a change which cost me extra. At no fault to the company, they tried to find a no extra cost solution for me which I appreciated. The Anlin windows arrived in 6 weeks and I took two separate days off work to have the installation complete. I have been keeping this company in mind for 4 years. The main reason why I did not have them do the replacement windows on my mobile home sooner...Finances. So, finally after 24 years of having the same cheap, broken windows on my home from the original builder and a little better finances, I was able to allow Select Home Improvements to redo my 8 windows! SHI kept in touch with me the past 4 years and gave me the best enough impressions to remember them for when I actually needed the work done. It was really strange because on one of my last trips I took, I thought about them and was hoping they would call me. Well, I got home a few weeks ago from that trip and the next day a rep called me! After having many of their professional phone conversations, a quote from 4 years ago for 5 windows, and the most recent quote for 8 windows, I was comfortable to have SHI do the project! I appreciated every phone conversation with Dani (female) through the process of setting up different appointments. I was happy when Graham came by around Aug 15th, 2024 and how professional and straight forward he was to answer all my questions, concerns, and to explain the process. I was glad that I had Chris as the project manager come the next day on Aug 16th. He was very professional and thorough. He took all the window measurements and addressed further questions and concerns that I had. My main concern through this whole process was my home looking at least the same as it does or even better since I had it painted just a few months ago. Within the next couple of days, I had a couple other guys that came and remeasured everything again to make sure all was correct. Chris told me since the windows are custom made, it takes about 4 weeks to make and ship them to their facility in Anaheim. Finally, this is the point where they mentioned I would get a call from Dani to let me know they received the windows to set up my window installation appointment. I got back from my vacation on Sep 20th. Within a couple of days, Dani and I spoke again and we set up the appointment for Mon, Sep 30th! I was so excited. This first day, I had 2 guys (Both their names started with an A) from a contracted company called Anlin. These guys were so cool, communicative, and extraordinary workers! They were able to replace 5 of my 8 windows on this day, day 1 of 2. Keep in mind that depending on each project, it doesn't take the same amount of time or even days to do any certain project. I was told that mine could take 1 to 2 days maximum. Before leaving for the day, they made sure everything was cleaned up. I was also asking them to confirm that they were the ones coming back to finish the work. I was so comfortable with them, that I let them know they could leave the other 3 windows at the house and any supplies needed for them to finish the job. The guys were supposed to come back the next day to finish the project. Dani called me early that morning and asked if they could come on Mon, Sep 30th instead. She said a third guy will be coming that day to be certain the work will be completed. I agreed. Well, that day came around and a third guy from Anlin as his name also started with an A showed up. I can't remember all 3 names so I just called them AAA. These 3 guys once again, courteous and professional finished the last 3 windows! Before they left, everything was so clean again inside and outside. These guys were magically amazing!!! They told me that they no longer put the 30 day sign out front, and I signed the certificate of completion 2 pages. I was instructed by them to call back in to make appointment for the SHI advertisement sign to be put in my front yard. Today, Fri, Oct 4th, I spoke with Dani and we made an appointment for Chris to come put up the sign. I am confident that Chris will do this on Tue, Oct 8th at approximately 10 am. As the work had been completed, a couple days later I received an automated response to call in to the financing department to get the payment process started. I just called Service Finance Company and the nice lady went over the payment process for me. I appreciate the fact that they don't charge you until they have a signed certificate of completion, when the loan gets funded, they send you a welcome letter, and then an actual bill is sent to you about 15-20 days before your first payment is due! Overall, this has been a wonderful process. I had a window replacement project and I am extremely satisfied! Everyone I have dealt with in this whole process have exceeded all my expectations! My windows look so beautiful, it's almost like you can't even see the windows as they are so clear! With the window screens in, it's almost like you can't even see the screens. WOW! Just read all the 5-star reviews for Select Home Improvements (SHI) and I can see why they are highly rated and recommended based on my own recent experience. I began looking for new windows a while ago (like maybe during the pandemic) and over time determined what I wanted new windows to look like. Absolutely did not want white vinyl, rather black frames with fiberglass or similar is what I was after. Anlin has a new line called Capstone Black that provided the look and durability of my new windows. Sure it was an upgrade but after 42 years it was worth the investment for the aesthetics alone. So back in May I got a call from Select Home Improvements to give me a window and door replacement quote with Anlin windows. At the time they were also offering incentives to homebuyers who met certain criteria. I met with SHI sales rep Bart Chamberlain who professionally presented the Anlin products providing heat durability tests, window frame constructability info, exact measurements of windows and doors, and a commitment to be there every step of the way thru installation. Bart always kept me updated and kept his word on being there to the end! Upon placing the order, Taylor, the project manager showed up to review the scope of work and take measurements again to ensure accuracy. The windows and doors were ordered and installation scheduled for July 7, 8, and 9th. That's where the installers (known as the 3 A's) come in. A father and sons team that were very professional and all work exceptionally completed to my satisfaction. It took 16 days from ordering my windows till complete installation They are beautiful! service was excellent. Very prompt, not a minute late. that is so rare. There is nothing worse than waiting for someone to do a job. They cleaned up completely, I didn't have to do a thing. The windows have drowned out most traffic noise, and people noise. We are near two busy streets and a fire department, the noise is almost gone. The temperature is comfortable, heater doesn't run all the time. Can't wait till summer to see my electric bill. The team at Select Home Improvements really turned our property from an eyesore to the best looking house on the block. When we first purchased our home the exterior was in bad shape. Primarily, I only wanted to replace several windows. Their sales rep, Bart Chamberlain, gave a very informative Anlin Windows presentation. These windows are extremely heat-resistant. They reduce sound, open and close effortlessly AND they're beautiful. The quality of their products and workmanship of their crew impressed me enough to go with the Texcote Coolwall. This will also provide another layer of heat-resistance. I now plan to get my roof replaced. Their roofing system is designed to allow attic heat to escape. These are huge investments but this is my "forever" home. In the long run, I believe it will be good for the environment, reduce my utility bill and increase the longevity of my home. The house was looking tired since it hadn't been painted in twenty years. From the rain gutters, fascia boards and eaves, which had termite damage, to the body of the home which is wood siding and stucco to the pergola, railing, corbels, fence and gates. She was looking every bit of her age. She went through a prep process that was very impressive! First came two days of power washing. After waiting four days for everything to dry thoroughly workers came to sand everything for another two days then repair any damage. They came back to tape and cover windows, ground cover, the entire perimeter of the hardscape surrounding the house, dig a small trench where the house meets the soil and took great care with the newly blooming hydrangeas. They then came back to begin coating the house with a cooling coat of primer for two days and then came the cooling color coat. The windows didn't require painting but all the French doors were in dire need and the side door as well. The last things to take care of were the pergola, railings, corbels, fence and gates which looked like they belonged on a haunted house before this process. No joke! Every person I spoke to and engaged with at Select Home Improvements were very informative and exceedingly helpful. I checked on everything daily and any questions, concerns or requests I had were all taken care of promptly, kindly and professionally, beginning to end. So happy with the results! She looks new again and is protected from further damage. The product they used on our home is guaranteed for the lifetime of the home, which will save time and money in the long run. This is the company who keeping spam calling you and inform you that there's money through federal program to improve your house that are over 20 years old. I don't believe this is true since I was not offered this nor any mentioned of this sort. However, since I was looking to update my sliding door, and they coincidently call when I was looking for a vendor, I decided to ask them to send their rep. Their rep, Gary was nice and respectful guy. He explained and presented their product. My wife and I liked the product but when it was time to reveal their price, they gave me 2 prices. One price was the "retail"and the other was "showroom" price. They showroom price was essentially about 20% off from retail in turn, to let them 1) take photos of before and after to be used for their website and/or marketing things; 2) put a sign of out on your yard for 30 days; 3) your house would be a "showroom house" and will be used as a show piece where future potential buyer can swing by and checkout their product. Of course, the future clients will only view from outside and they will not go into your yard or house. For us, we would have considered and proceeding with the "showroom" price but their price was still higher than what we liked and we never liked getting cornered into a signing the contract on the spot. As a typical sales person, Gary informed me that "the deal goes out when I leave". However end of the day, they lost a sale because of that. We learned from our past, that if someone is trying to rush you into a deal without allowing you to think about it, then it must a bad deal. Gary even threw in a "Three-Day Cooling-Off Period in California" or "buyers remorse" to get us sign the contract and letting us know we can just get the deal and cancel within 3 days if we changed our mind. However, popular myth, there is absolutely no general, three-day, cooling-off period in California law. Don't get tricked by this. Additionally, they can just dodge my calls for 3 days so this 3 day cooling off period doesn't work. After 3 days, Gary's manager called me, not once but three times to get hold of me. Each time, he never left me a message but my caller ID recognized the number. I finally picked up their call, and he told me there is a better offer and he wanted meet with me to go over the new price. I respectfully declined since I am pretty busy and asked to just tell me the price over the phone. Since we could not come to a mutual agreement of meeting or not meeting, I declined his mysterious offer, in which he asked me if like saving money. I said yes but only I can get the price over the phone then he just hung up without saying bye. I hope my experience with them will not be same as yours but please be aware of gimmicks they will throw at you. He had questions for me including my marital status and when my husband would be home for the appointment. I let him know that the house was in my name and I make all the decisions about MY house. Felicia then called me and again gave me a bit of attitude about my husband not being at the appointment to make the decision, even after seeing the notation that Nick had left. We are so glad that Bryan Wilson decided to come to our door! Window upgrades were on our mind but something we didn't think we could afford so soon; we just purchased our home 2 years ago. After spending some time with Bryan, getting to know him and Select Home Improvements it was hard to say no. He sat down with us (social distanced, of course) got to know us and what our plans were for our home. It was important that we kept the charming and cozy feel of the original windows but we desperately needed some improvements to our A/C and Heating bills and of course, staying within a budget. Bryan was so easy to talk to and really made this entire process so painless. We got to see, hold and inspect samples of the final products and chose all those final details. Aside from Bryan, everyone has been so nice, explaining the process and answering all our questions. The folks that helped with scheduling, rescheduling (um, Covid) and then final installation, everything has been so pleasant. My boyfriend and I had a lot of questions and like excited kids at Disneyland we were taking pictures and documenting the ENTIRE process. So, thanks for putting up with us, my work schedule (Covid- Working from home) and the random shuffling of our dogs from room to room, you all made this easy and fun. These guys have some skills too! We had 11 windows to be replaced. On top of that we also had them change the size of one of our windows. It might have been an easy job if we wanted a larger window but no, we wanted it smaller. Jose spent time making sure each area was perfect. We are so pleased with the attention to detail, care for our home, over-all attitude and finally, clean up. 12/26/2018: The Windows: We had a problem in the bedrooms that the sliding doors were in were the room would always be cold due to the crappy windows the builders installed. The company installed "Anlin" brand windows into my 6 windows and 2 sliding doors. They are GREAT with a HUGE reduction in sound and they keep our rooms warm. They seem to be easy to clean and they have security features that allow us to crack the windows or sliding door without fear of someone breaking in from the outside. Select Home Improvements Company: The company was somewhat professional most of the time. They came and measured everything three times. They told me that the job would take one day, possibly part of another. They were a little pushy, but had many payment options. The price was pretty expensive, but I didn't get any other quotes. The first day they were very professional, demo'ed everything well, and then cleaned up. They arrived around 1040 and left around 4pm. They sent only two people and didn't bring the sliding doors. The second day they were still mainly remained professional and brought a third person, but were complaining that the ride home the day before took 3.5 hours due to traffic and having to return the company vehicle to the company compound. They seemed to be in a hurry and not doing a good job as before. The third person was an HVAC person that had no idea about windows. I had to point out that they missed insulation on one of the sliding doors while they were getting ready to close up the sliding door frame. After they were complete I noticed the sliding door frames were all dinged up, looking like it took off some of the white primer; probably from having to cut them to size. When asked about it they said that it is the responsibility of the owner to paint the frame. (Poor excuse and not professional at since they did the damage). Also, I noticed the nail spots were not filled in, the outside window frames and sliding doors were filled with white silicon and smeared all over the stucco. The silicon should of been straight and edged properly. It wasn't professional at all and very shoddy work at best. I talked to the "Project Manager" who came and looked at the issues. In a nutshell: Wonderful 'Anlin' windows, but company needs definite work. They did however write me a letter explaining that this isn't normal to have all these problems, how my yelp review hurt the company, and if i would be kind enough to "amend" my review now that they have fixed everything. They even tried guilting me they "employ over 100 people who rely on them" and "thus many employee's ability to provide for their family, and they had taken disciplinary action against one of the employees. This company will not come to my house to give me a quote without my husband being present. They want to do the hard sale then and there so you don't get other quotes. Not a company I care to do business with ever. Having both owners there will not guarantee the sale. Good customer service and a fair price will. Their initial behavior indicates to me that I would receive neither. read more
