It's been exactly a year since I bought my i3s from Horatio at Select Motors and it was absolutely the best car buying experience I've ever had. The car was immaculate and Horatio knows more about the cars he sells than any dealer, new or used. The i3s I ended up buying didn't have the HK stereo and Horatio flat out said "the stock stereo is good enough...you won't notice. The 2 things that make a difference in these cars is the sunroof and the bigger screen". And of course, he was right! Any less than 5-star reviews are from people who clearly don't understand the type of car dealership this is. It's not a walk-in off the street, test drive a bunch of cars and then think you're going to trade a crappy old Honda for an M5. Horatio is super selective about the cars he buys to sell and expects that you're coming to him because he has the best and highest quality cars for a fair price and you know exactly what you want. He has plenty of demand for his cars and won't waste time "selling" or negotiating. That's the model and if you don't like it, go to a used car lot and take your chances. My next car will definitely be from Horatio...we still text periodically and I always check out his inventory. I'd love a Macan turbo electric someday and I know that I can call Horatio and if doesn't have one, he could definitely find me the best one out there. Go buy a car from him! read more

This is a great no non-sense dealership. Recently purchased a loaded Mini Cooper S for my wife from Horatio at Select Motors. I found the vehicle posted online along with several other Mini Cooper's he had in stock. I called the dealership before heading through traffic and they let me know that they show by appointment. They asked me to come by a couple hours later which was perfect for me anyway. I showed up to my appointment and I have to say that every one of the cars at this dealership is immaculate. These guys were straight up and knew their inventory and no bullshit. If you prefer a warm fuzzy salesman that wastes a bunch of your time, I'd go somewhere else. If you want a place to shoot it to you straight, price their cars below market(for options and packages their cars include), and get through the car buying process super quick...then this is your place. Did I mention the quality of their cars? Every single car I looked at appeared as if it was brand new. I was able to buy a fully loaded Mini Cooper S with NAV, a backup camera, parking sensors, Harmon/Kardon sound, heads-up display, etc. for about $12k less than buying a brand new one. I recently purchased a 2018 Maserati Quattroporte Gran Lusso from Select Motors. I reside in Scottsdale, AZ and the vehicle was located in Select Motors in San Mateo, CA. My purchase was completed by reviewing photos of the vehicle in addition to reviewing the vehicles service maintenance records. Upon my request, Horatio Pop- the owner of Select Motors supplied me additional vehicle documents and auto photographs to complete my due diligence. Horatio and I laid out a plan to wire funds to purchase the vehicle and to have the auto shipped by enclosed carrier to Scottsdale. I requested and received a Bill of Lading (BOL) which permitted me to inspect the vehicle upon its arrival to Scottsdale. Lastly, Horatio overnighted me the Cars Title for me to register the vehicle in Arizona. Yelp was one of the references I used to establish a comfort level doing business on-line with Horatio of Select Motors. Horatio is a man of his word, and one I would trust again purchasing a high-end European Luxury vehicle. In closing, my wife and I are extremely satisfied owning our newer 2018 Maserati Quattroporte Gran Lusso. Our second Maserati Quattroporte!! Horatio and his team are straight shooters. They are responsible and genuinely interested in their customer's satisfaction. The auto industry (especially used cars) have conditioned consumers to be so hostile to try to negotiate as much as possible. That's very different from how Horatio operates. Like many other reviewers here, I had a great experience. That's because I knew what I wanted and I knew what a good price is. If you are doing research on Select Motors, chances are, you are already interested in one of their cars. And chances are, you've already done some research and know that their price is reasonable. They know how to buy cars, if you look at their fleet, you'll notice that all their cars still have factory warranty, and they're all very very well optioned. I think what they're doing is great: 1. Only buy cars that are still under factory warranty 2. Only buy cars that are well optioned 3. Keep the staff small and focus on customers through appointment only 4. Keep prices reasonable so customers don't have to negotiate. That formula, to me, is great. Wish all dealers were like this. read more

I had more than 20 cars since last 10 years and always dislike going to dealer regardless small ones or big ones, ( taking for ever to finish the business), but this time I flow from Los Angeles to San Francisco (one way) and met Horatio ( He picked me up when it was pouring rain) and only took 8 minutes to finish the paperwork and I was out with a gorgeous Audi a8 L /Super Charge within 8 minutes. I called him and made an appointment with him and he didi all the documents ready in advance, it make sense when he says by appointment only since he knows you want to buy a car and need time to decide and no need extra pressure like those regular dealers sales people whom all over you and showing all the cars without having any knowledges about cars. I leave 5 stars and it was a pleasure to met Horatio/ he is respectful professional person. Thank you Horatio and keep up good work. Key to failure is to please everyone, so he can't make every body happy . I recently purchased a 2014 750li from Select Motors. At first, it seemed like it was difficult to talk to the owner, Horatio. This is because he does not negotiate on price. So if you are one who wants to offer $$ less than his price, you are at the wrong place. But once you do your homework, you will realize he has the vehicles priced to go. Then, when you agree to buy the vehicle, Horatio goes out of his way to make it a smooth transaction. I am in Georgia and i bought the vehicle without seeing it. The vehicle was arranged to be picked up by my shipper. Then when i received it, I told him the cd player was not working. He told me not to worry and asked me to call the dealer. I took it to the dealer, and guess what, they BMW are replacing the cd player at no cost. With the above, I will use him again. Mostly because his prices are firm, but reasonable. read more

This is car buying for people who know what they want, are looking for high quality high end cars and who have done their homework. Don't expect to negotiate or haggle...and you don't need to. Select Motors pricing is usually the best in the Bay Area for the quality level cars available. Those of you who say the staff can be rude, need to change your expectation, they aren't rude....just discerning. They have exceptional taste in cars and expect their customers to have the same.
