Popped in unexpectedly to Select for a lunch after some shopping. It was busy with people having brunch but we went with some comfort food on the cold day. Caesar Salad was possibly one of the best I've had in a very long time. The dressing was on point. The Candy Pork Chop was so delicious. Cooked perfectly, and those cinnamon apples? Crazy, crazy good. My husband got the Prime Pot Roast and it was AMAZING!

Wow! The food here is awesome. A bit on the pricy side, we dropped $100 here on two burgers and side salads, & it was worth every penny! Burgers are a solid half pound, chips are hand made and that's the freshest side salad I've had anywhere in the past year outside of my own garden greens. Cooked to perfection. And Mercedes, our server, was beyond outstanding. Anything you order from here is going to be outstanding. BTW, their restrooms are tasteful and spotless. A solid 10 here!

My husband and I went to SELECT for dinner on a Thursday night after a friend recommended this place. The restaurant was pretty full by 630pm but not too loud inside. Our server was very nice and came by often to check in on us. We got 2 rounds of drinks (beer/cocktail) - while we did like the drinks, the cocktails are pretty pricey, with most drinks at $18-20 and some specialty ones going up to $30+. We got chicken satay for an appetizer, and it was just okay, not bad but not great either. I got chicken salad panini - because the menu said 'panini' I thought it would come with a panini bread or some sort of artisanal bread, but no, it came with regular multi grain bread. And the sandwich was at best average, and fries weren't that good. The scallops were probably the best thing we ordered - though pricey ($40+) and smaller portioned, they were delicious. I might come back for just drinks next time, but I don't think the price justifies the quality of the food served here.

Select is a beautifully curated dining experience nestled right in the middle of downtown Greenville. The mussels are perfectly cooked in a delectable broth. The bread served with it is perfect for dipping in the broth. The cocktail menu offers a great assortment of drinks to accompany the entrees. The staff is attentive and courteous. The space is neatly appointed. You step in and feels like you're in a big city restaurant.

Casually Fine. It's the slogan for Select, posted right on the restaurant's outdoor sign. Located on Trade Street in the heart of downtown Greer, we dined on New Year's Eve. Several of the guests took the casual part seriously, feeling comfortable in everything from trucker's hats and plaid shirts, to sweaters and slacks. Our server, Daniel, appeared to be rather new, serving red wine vinegar with the "Bruschetta Enchantment" when we requested balsamic, and Rose All Day when we requested sparkling Rose. To his credit, his description of the unique Monte Cristo preparation was sufficient to appropriately guide us to a different selection. We had two steak entrees. The BERRY BLUE FILET ($59 | $69 Filet mignon center-cut Certified Black Angus medallions, enthroned on a bed of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, crowned with SELECT Berry Blue, topped with a fresh tuile and drotzels of blueberry coulis) was excellent. Prepared as ordered, cut like butter. Daniel didn't ask our preference, but charged us for the larger size. On the other hand, the NOUVEAUX RIBEYE ($63, Certified Black Angus center-cut ribeye seared, seasoned, and grilled to your liking. Enchanted with our walnut, garlic, sherry compound butter. Served with hand-crafted roasted garlic mashed potatoes) suffered from the problem with Ribeyes- difficult to even cut on one end due to gristle untrimmed. It was bad enough Select should speak with their meat supplier on this cut. We shared asparagus (6 stalks at $9) which was flavorful, but pricey. With two Maker's and the correct Sparkling Rose the tab topped $200. That's special event pricing for a meal and service not that special.

We are actually en route from Texas to visit and planning our return here. The fried green tomatoes are to die for and I've dreamed of these for months!

We arrived at 10:15 this morning for breakfast and were greeted by a very nice young lady who told us that all of their tables would be filled by 10:45. I counted 9 empty tables at the time and said we were in a rush and could be gone in 20 minutes. She said it would take 20 minutes to serve us, to which I said we could still do it. She refused and said we could go on the waiting list which would take 25 minutes. Now I'm no brain surgeon, but this seemed like Gen-Z pretzel logic thinking to me. Rather than argue with the girl, we just left. So if the owner is reading this, I STRONGLY suggest that you monitor what is going on at your front door! You just lost 3 new SC residents business for no good reason at all. read more

My first time coming to this establishment will not be my last for sure! Gorgeous interior, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere! What more could you want for a brunch day? Had the Wisconsin pancakes (a little too sweet for my liking) and Italian Fennel sausage (perfection!) and my partner had the chicken and waffles with grits and he was surprised how good it was! Most definitely coming back for another brunch date! read more

Freedom burger- homemade waffle chips, Bloody Mary's made for a great lunch yesterday. The burger had Gorgonzola, barbecue sauce, chives and fried onions. Super juicy and melted right in my mouth. Our server, Jessica, was delightful and so knowledgeable. The Bloody Mary was spicy and well made. We will be back again and again. So glad you are in Greer. read more

We have been here several times, expensive but not quality. Bland non-seasoned food. Maybe we keep ordering the wrong food.... I don't know. Rushed out of a half filled restaurant because we did not have a reservation (empty dining hall). Strike out for us. read more

This was a great find. They have a huge menu and it really is like casual fine dining. Breakfast is served all day and the portions are large. We ordered the French toast breakfast and their version of the meat and three. The food tasted every bit as good as a fine dining establishment along with the presentation and prep you would expect but at a much cheaper price. Downtown Greer seems to be reinventing itself with restaurants like this. read more

Beautiful restaurant in downtown Greer. Love the atmosphere! I had baked white fish with sauteed green beans and mixed vegetables (I chose these from an extensive selection of sides). Perfectly cooked and just the right portion. Sophia had Orthodox Salad, which was like a Greek salad with Mediterranean dressing. She scarfed it up. Really good fresh iced tea, which is important. Service was prompt and professional from Pat. We look forward to our return to Select soon. read more

In town from NYC for work. Stopped by to have a drink. I asked about a wine by the glass and asked for a taste. When I say taste I mean TASTE, not pour. The bartender, in a very snarky/condescending tone stated "we don't do tastes. Just say what flavors you like and I'll tell you what we have for you". I am a certified sommelier, my fiancé and I own a nightclub and bar in New York City....I don't need you to advise me about my taste. Cause if I don't like it, guess what?! IM NOT PAYING FOR IT! Bartender was rude.... service was terrible. THIS WAS A VERY LOW GRADE EXPERIENCE. I visited 9/13 around 9 pm. Ended up at 'Mason Jar restaurant' a block over. They turned my night around. Much better atmosphere!! read more

While visiting family I almost lost hope in finding good tasting food in South Carolina, I'm not talking about this place thou, this restaurant SHOCKED my tastebuds! I would rate it 10 stars if I could! I literally could not stop eating. From the moment I entered until the moment I left I have zero things to complain about, and I usually can find one or two things lol. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the cooks did outstanding job on our dishes and service overall was AMAZING! I wish the world had more restaurants like this one! I went in to Select for breakfast at 9:00 on a Saturday. The location is wonderful - right off of Trade Street. There is street parking and a few lots not far away. There was only 1 other couple inside when I got there. I was sat immediately at a table in the front in the window alcove. It was a bit hot and stuffy from the sun beaming in through the window. The decor included a lot of local art and the seating and tables were nice. I waited for 12 minutes before anyone came to take my drink order, which made me think they couldn't see me in the alcove or they just were moving SUPER slow. I was about to get up and walk out when finally someone came by. I like that their menu has a good amount of choices for breakfast. I ordered the Baton Rougee benedict which is fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, and a chipotle hollandaise. I also got the potatoes as a side. The portions were very generous and pricing seems overall pretty fair, although some items seem a bit high. The benedict was had delicious flavors that paired well together and it was cooked well, but the potatoes were a bit odd. They looked like they had already been chewed up and spit out. Nothing special in the flavor department. The other menu items looked unique and interesting. The bathrooms are very nice and have a wine cellar feel to them. I walked down to see their private dining room in the wine cellar. It can accommodate around 20 people and would be a great place for a small gathering. Overall, I think this this a good breakfast option in downtown Greer if you're looking for a substantial amount of food. I'd like to go back and try their dinner menu as well. read more

Bistro style restaurant located in downtown Greer. Side street parking. "Select" is engraved on most tables. Our server was educated on the menu dishes and friendly. The pork tenderloin was served with a ground mustard gravy sauce. Interesting. The Denver skillet was served hot and the vegetables tasted fresh. A bit pricey to come every day, but definitely worth trying. read more

My boyfriend and I moved here 2 weeks ago and have already been twice! The food is phenomenal and the ambiance is great as well. Theres a price point for everyone on the menu as well. You don't have to spend a lot of money if you don't want to. Plus the cocktails are amazing I had a French 75 and it was light and fresh Highly recommend the Southern Charm pasta dish and the French Dip sandwich! read more

Went to Select for a second time last night for dinner with my family - wife and two grown boys. It was excellent! The service was great and the food was awesome. I had the New York Pot Roast and it was so good, I'm still thinking about it today. Everyone loved what they ordered. The only thing I would have changed is to sit at a normal size chair and table. We were seated at a tall bistro table so after a while it became a little uncomfortable. But this certainly is not enough to change my 5-star rating. Select is very good and we will definitely go back. read more

I have literally never had a bad experience here! The food is always good (tasty) and hot! The staff are super helpful considering my food allergies and once even fixed something that was my fault without charging it's a lovely location and walking distance of the park and shops around Greer. Brunch and dinner are my favorite since I do think their lunch is a little expensive for what you get. read more

We were looking for a quick Sunday night bite and stumbled on this place surfing Yelp. The atmosphere and art are stunning. Very soothing music in the background and perfect service. The food. We got the chicken satay appetizer. It was cooked perfectly and drizzled with peanut sauce and balsamic. Nice flavor profile. I ate the lettuce it was resting on. My meal was a Roma tomato tart. It had cheese and sauted onions and more cheese on a pastry. It was served with a nice green salad. The presentation was perfect and the taste was very good. The menu looked interesting and we will be back. read more

Went to select for breakfast. Was with a group of four. And immediately as we walked in the hostess were rude due to the fact we had our babies with us. They were almost trying to get us to leave without trying to say it. Food was mediocre. We were standing up to leave when again the hostess were blankly rude giving us side eyes. The hostess with orange hair was also rude brushing bye and scoffing. read more

A group of 12 of us went to Select...all for the first time. Shannon, our server made it clear from the outset that her intent was for us to relax, have a great time together and enjoy the food/drinks. She proceeded to recommend things on the menu that were favorites of hers and her customers...and even suggested some special bourbons added to their long list of offerings. So there was a wide variety of drinks and food on this long table, and there was not a single disappointed face in the crowd. WOW...servings are ample size (maybe even oversized) and cooked to perfection. Best fried green tomatos I've ever had...a German Pretzel the size of my face...and great steaks and seafood across the board. We were all impressed with food, service and quality. We'll be back many more time!!! read more

Super disappointed to drop the stars down on this place. I love their food, but they are operating business as usual and following zero CDC covid 19 guidance. We ordered everything to go so obviously it's a little bit different than sitting in a restaurant, my burger was super good and pink on the inside like I ordered it. The only thing that I didn't love was how crappy I felt after my food. We pre-ordered one or two days before and then when we came to pick up the food it was not ready so we had to wait there for about 40 minutes for our food. read more

The wait staff was apologetic and kind, which we genuinely appreciated because it was obvious the situation wasn't their fault. Unfortunately, the overbooking also impacted the kitchen, and our food took a long time to arrive. We didn't leave until 10:30 p.m., which is excessive for a 6:30 reservation. What was most disappointing was that there was no acknowledgment from management beyond verbal apologies from staff -- no small gesture, no complimentary glass of wine, no discount. The evening felt like a case of overbooking at the expense of both customers and employees. We hope lessons are learned from this. We've loved this restaurant for years, but we will not be returning on Valentine's Day again. It definitely left a bad taste in our mouths.

I looked through all my bags. I looked in my purse. I looked in my wallet. No receipt. Oh and I bought a bottle of evolution. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Opened it up when I got home and it was bitter, which meant it was going bad already. And I went directly from the store home so it didn't sit in my car and get warm. Since I didn't have a receipt and I felt I was overcharged... The charge of my credit card wasn't what I thought I had paid... I returned everything to the store. They were able to download my receipt. They did give me a complete credit for everything I bought. But there was something I went back and bought. Simple syrup mixers for alcoholic drinks. They were on sale for $2.99 and usually $4.35 or $4.50. My original purchase I had bought five. That's definitely a good deal and I use this product all the time. After returning everything, I went back to the shelves and grabbed two bottles of simple syrup. When I went to pay, here's a surprise: they rang up at full price. As I walked into the store, and as I walked out of the store, I kept telling people to check their receipts. It's very common for grocery stores to have sale prices posted, but not update their computer system and if you're not paying attention, you do not get the sale price. Well, sadly, I guess this is what this chain does. I hope the people who run this chain read my review. I hope they check how they cook their chickens in store and sell them as fully cooked. I know Costco and all the other grocery store chains do not sell undercooked hot chickens. Someone's not doing their job or they don't have their thermometers working. Very sad.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED UPON MY PERSONAL FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BUSINESS. One star only because zero stars isn't an option. I visited with my daughter in February and not one staff member was wearing a mask despite there being a current mask mandates at the time. The owner gaslit me stating there was not a mandate at the time and I was simply misinformed. The owner is garbage who never followed covid protocols including mask mandates yet he defrauded the government of $2 million in PPP funds. He just admitted it in federal court and is facing twenty years in prison. Good riddance. read more

What a shady business this is. Owner owns a private lot near his restaurant. A family friend whom is a 75 year old veteran ( and Greer business owner himself )came to Select with his family for his and his wife's 56th Wedding Anniversary. He parked here unknowingly that it was a private lot, construction is also going on in this same area. Upon his arrival to his car his car was being booted. He had to pay the tow company $75. All while the owner of this restaurant was looking out his window. Over $300.00 was spent at this restaurant. Never again. read more

Select has Gluten-Free Waffles and they are SO good! I went for a bridesmaid brunch, and we had at least 10 people. They don't force you to wear masks, and everyone there is super nice!
