Bad experience... I love the Holbrook location, but I was in this area today and decided to give it a try. I ordered my usual three tacos two grill shrimp Baja tacos, and one grilled shrimp street taco. Not a single taco was correct when I received them... and I had already left, I couldn't drive back. They gave me all fried shrimp (not grilled, and im dieting so that's frustrating) and one was fried fish even! Also the street taco had like shredded american cheese on it which its not supposed to AND im allergic to that cheese, so i couldn't eat that one. We stopped in here for a quick bite after driving almost an hour from our home to provide an estimate to a homeowner. We're not familiar with restaurants this far out east. We just saw it as we were driving and I'm so glad we stopped in. My dish was the Mexican vegan spinach salad with red quinoa and a mango vinaigrette. It was as delicious as it looks! I also ordered tostones...they were huge and thin and delicious. My husband put guacamole and salsa on them and ate them like a taco. The street tacos here are amazingly delicious, especially the pork and chorizo versions. Each type has a different take on the complementing flavors, for example the steak has cilantro and lime wedges. I could eat Senor Tacos every day. The queso is terrible, avoid! It's a container of neon orange tastelessness that is somehow worse than a jar of supermarket dip and a tiny bag of chips. Definitely not worth $10. read more

Ok to be very clear I am referencing the new Location in Southold. The staff is quite amazing. This was not the first time I went the bar service after the dinner rush, I have had very nice experiences. The table service at prime time was really a grave disappointment. It is was like a TGIFriday, service was very slow, basic necessities you had to ask for like plates & napkins. It took more than 45 minutes to receive our orders. Would rate 3 1/2 stars due to the long wait which we weren't informed about while ordering. Staff was friendly, food was delicious, waited over 20 mins with only two customers ahead of me :/ but was provided chips while waiting. My husband and I ordered street tacos- shrimp and steak each, very delicious. We added the green sauce and pico de Gallo onto them which gave them a nice little kick. The only thing I would've liked is if the tacos were wrapped with two soft tacos as the tacos easily broke open while eating. I would recommend but next time will order to pick up. read more

I realize these are difficult times. I want to support local businesses. Food was cold, and terrible. Peppers in the fajitas were HUGE and undercooked. Almost all peppers, few onions and few pieces of chicken. Food was delivered 20 min after ordering and STILL ice cold. Food was not cooked to order. Door Dash probably threw the bag from the car because everything was tipped over and leaking onto tortilla making them wet and inedible. Enchiladas were fused together. This place is great. The chips are fresh (standard) and they usually give you some while you wait. The house made salsa's are good. I usually order a burrito, and customize it with fresh jalapeño. Food is made pretty quickly, and it is always delicious. I have sat in before and taken out- each time does not disappoint. My wife had the vegan salad and loved it as well. Nice option for those not looking to meat it up. I prefer this place for take out and recommend it as a serviceable and quick option for Tacos/Mexican. read more

My husband just ordered a burrito got home and it was wrong. he was supposed to get chipotle sauce and bacon added in it (which they charge about 3$+ for) He didn't get either but they put corn in. He has a corn allergy. They would not rectify until they spoke to the "kitchen". They said they would call back in 5 min and we had to call them. Still nothing. Really disappointed with the service just received. I placed an $80 order for 5 people and when I checked my bag they did not provide the salsas and sour creams that come with the meals. I asked the gentleman to please get me some I understand the current situation, but the women who was I assume manager told me they are limiting the FREE salsas that are generally at the scoop bar. They would only give me 3 more and I questioned why I could not have additional of the free salsas as I would not be sharing given COVID. I must admit that I am biased against all burrito places that are not Bueno y Sano in Amherst, MA (because they. are. awesome.), but Señor Taco was good. So good that upon first bite into my steak burrito my gums started to tingle, my teeth screamed more, and I ate the damned thing so fast I didn't stop to actually taste, savour, reflect on the favors going down my gullet. The burrito was thick with rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream (not too much), and steak that shredded into a million threads of meaty happiness. We also ordered ground beef soft-shell tacos that also, so says my husband, hit the spot. There's a small seating area and a chilled buffet thing where patrons can have their selection of a rather bland salsa (think a chunky puree that needs more salt) and a nice pico de gallo with the free tortilla chips that make the small wait barely noticeable. I must preface this with the fact that I am a native to San Diego, Ca. To me, nothing beats the Mexican food there except for the actual street tacos in Tijuana. A friend and I stopped in there last Thursday to check it out. She's a Californian also... We were not happy nor impressed. My order was for 2 chicken tacos; 1 crispy and 1 soft. When I received my tacos, they were ground beef. I didn't protest since the cost was the same as that of the chicken. So, the meat had little flavor. I could actually compare it to the taste of Taco Bell, except the meat here had more substance. It included shredded lettuce and a dot of cheese. It was hardly even warm! Luckily it came with a side of sour cream so that helped the bland flavor factor. My friend's order was for 2 chicken flautas. In San Diego, all flautas are made with flour tortillas. This had corn. She said that the it tasted ok at best. The only redeeming part of this whole experience was the red salsa. I'm usually a fan of the green salsa, however whatever the green stuff at their salsa bar was tasted horrible and made me twitch. The red had a good body and moderate amount of heat thankfully. Pico de gallo was also available, but it looked old and sort of wilted. No thanks. All in all, maybe a good place for the locals, but to anyone who knows what Mexican food is supposed to taste like, stay away. I'm still searching for the real deal. read more

Stopped in for a quick dinner. I had 3 tacos (2 chicken, 1 steak), and a side of rice and black beans. The steak taco was well seasoned, and not too chewy. The chicken? Blech. It was some kind of orange-ish color, pretty tasteless, and dry as a bone. The rice was pretty plain, and the black beans tasted like they were straight out of a Goya can. Their food is good, but some items on their menu are shoot or miss. I eat here quite often as a matter of fact, and I do enjoy their Arroz con pollo a lot, In my opinion is one of their better dishes. The Chorizo they have is great also! very tasty. Their burritos and wraps are lean and tasteful. Cheese can get to be a bit much on their quesadillas and chimichangas. Taste overall might seem simplistic and it almost feels like one of those places where no matter what you get, it pretty much taste the same as any other thing on the menu (not that the taste is bad). They do have some variety however, if you know what to pick. I feel like the owners have a Colombian background as they do offer options that are not quite "typical" for a Mexican menu. For example fried plantains, tostones and empanadas are really good. Mexi-torta is horrible, first and last time I ordered it it was just a piece of hard chewy steak, stuck in between hamburger buns. Nothing Mexican about it at all, the buns ended up disintegrating because of the juices and I was left with a mess. Avoid the mexi-torta. read more
